I am a big coffee drinker and this place is the spot. We came in on Sunday at 2:50pm, placed our coffee orders in, and a big peanut butter cookie, then were told they close at 3pm and we'd have to leave. We were extremely disappointed. Mind u we were there off season (Dec 9,2018) to be exact. We took a seat at a table in this charming sitting area within the shop, took a couple of sips and they announced that they were closing and started to sweep the floor. We called to see if we could order ahead and received a curt reply. We almost turned around because she was so mean, but we didn't. Stopped here on our visit to Niagra Falls. Desperately needed good coffee and I'm glad to say we found it here! When we arrived the line was out the door and the super cute outdoor seating area was full. However the employees made the line move quickly and with precision, we were very impressed. The old house that they converted is adorable with so much charm and there is tons of seating inside. The espresso roast is super yummy and we all inhaled our drinks. In times like this when people should support each other i've been asked to come back again or go get cash because they don't Take AMEX. so rather than making an exception they're asking me to expose myself twice as much because they don't want an amex charge. even though the previous manager made an exception a while back when I purchased 7 pounds. The coffee is great but the ordeal I have to go through every time coming here it just makes it not worth it. The restocking is awful and they never have the flavors in stock. and what annoys me the most is that I'm a regular customer who comes here every month and buy it in bulk. this isn't about making an exception for a two dollar cup of coffee this is disregarding a repeat customer and not being accommodating. so I'm guessing they don't understand that a repeat customer is better than a new customer. I am a big fan Orange Cat. I used to treat myself to their coffee on especially rough days in college. Center Street is such a charming place to be and I love everything about Orange Cat's set-up. On nice days, you can spend time outside at their little café tables, people watching and catching up with friends. On colder days, they've provided a nice, cozy atmosphere inside. You really feel like you're in someone's house. I haven't had any of their food, and I'm the kind of girl who drinks boring, black coffee, but they have so many varieties and they make their java strong. YES! I always love when a coffee shop has a nice set-up for 'fixings.' They offer cinnamon, chocolate, and sugar in the raw--thank you! Although I don't usually put anything in my coffee but a dash of cinnamon, I appreciate that attention to detail. As someone else said, "very Lewiston"! AND I got a sticker to put on my car today. I really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't find anything great. I found many things worse than some of the coffee shops I deemed average. I asked if they had cold brew and the guy kept telling me the beans they currently have brewed. I got a bit frustrated so I ordered a hot chocolate. A very disappointing hot chocolate. Perhaps the only coffee shop in Lewiston area...but definitely not a great one... we have tried a couple of times but it's getting worst! Last time we had cappuccino that was like getting it from a gas station shop :( The three stars goes to the chocolate chip cookie that was not so bad! Best. Coffee. House. Ever. I work about a minute away from this old house-turned-coffee-shop, and I must say, my co-workers and I are probably their biggest fans! This place is filled with locals getting thier daily cup of joe, and friendly workers who always get your order right. Prices are dirt cheap, and coffee is always fresh & hot. They also have tons of flavor selections, all of which satisfy this avid coffee lover! They sell their coffee beans by the pound, as well as their vast selection of teas. My favorite tea here is the blueberry green mixed with maté (a tea with as much caffine as coffee). They also have a wide variety of baked goods, soups & salads. I've never had the food here, but I have heard good things from everyone else, so I can assume that their stuff is good. I must agree with Nicole below. This is the absolute best place to get coffee or tea in Lewiston. The only thing that could possibly make Orange Cat better is if they were located right outside my front door! The baristas are friendly, make good recommendations if you're in the mood to try something new, and never screw up your order no matter how many drinks you ask them to make. The prices are unbeatable, and their specialty blends change each day. Being able to buy all of their coffee by the pound and tea by the ounce is also a huge plus! They keep everything looking nice while preserving the historical feel Lewiston is known for. They're on the corner, and everyone walks up the semi-steep hill on the side of the lawn, so they installed a stone staircase. The front door wasn't closing the way it should, so they put in a new one. Menial things on their own, but going the extra mile with such simple things is what more businesses should strive toward! I don't drink coffee on account of it's making my stomache go all rumbly and stuff, but they have an iced chia drink that is to kill for! I even had one of they're raps, and it was good, to. Hummus! What is hummus, anyway? Some kind of meat? More like arabian peanut-butter if you ask me. The place is nice with woodin floors and the people are nice, to, but I think the kids' kinda got on there nerves, what with all the running around and touching and stuff. PROS: Real-made drinks! It's a cute little coffee shop in Lewiston. Couple of tables for outdoor seating, which is great for a beautiful day. I love a nice place where I can just sit and read, or just sit and people watch. Plenty of indoor seating as well. I love cafe mochas and theirs is definitely tasty. My only complaint would be that there are SO many options that it was a little intimidating and overwhelming. Cosy and friendly, they roast their own coffees (all available for sale whole bean or ground) and also have a great selection of teas (loose, also available for sale) and baked goods. I was recommended to get a latte from this coffee house so I decided to try it. It was really good and even better, it was really cheap. This place has great coffee and great prices. It's also a local establishment which I love. The coffee house had a very cozy atmosphere and you are able to sit outside as well during the summer months. We went on a Sunday so it was crowded and sadly didn't have any outdoor seating left so we had to walk down Center Street instead. This review is based solely on the professionalism of the staff, versus the quality of the product. As a connoisseur of espresso, I never miss the opportunity to try different expressions across the country. As a former local of the area, I never miss the opportunity to to fulfill this craving at orange cat when I come into town. This past Wednesday evening I decided to grab a double espresso and due to the blistering temperature asked for it over ice. Little did I know and to no fault of anyone, a double espresso over ice is roughly $4.25 plus tax, versus a a double espresso at $2.25. I hadn't realized this price difference until after I ordered, which is clearly stated on the menu. Once again, this review is not about the quality of the product. So after complementing the staff on the espresso, I still couldn't wrap my head around the price difference. So I decided to call back to get an explanation on the discrepancy. I wasn't looking to complain or even argue, just see why there a $2.00 difference. And here is where it all goes down hill. Not only did I get attitude, I was blatantly lied too. First, I was told that anywhere I go to and order a espresso over ice there is a surcharge. The examples used were Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. Now having gone to both for years, I will say, never once have I been charged extra for ordering espresso over ice. When I pointed this out to the young lady on the phone, she stated well that's because they have fancy ice machines. So now you just admitted you lied. While recognizing the anxiety in her voice, I emphasized multiple times that this was not a complaint. I was just asking for an explanation. I was told, that's just the way it is, we have to pay for our ice and plastic cups. Also, you're more than welcome to bring your own cup in with ice and we'll pour an espresso in it. All the while, with major attitude and something about the owner said this is the way it's going to be. I get the price of goods, especially in today's economy but you need a major lesson in customer service. read more

Popped in here on my way out of lewiston after staying for 3 days. What a cute little (busy!) place. While the town seemed mostly asleep (walking around at 10:30am, most things were still closed) until we got to Orange Cat, this place was booming. There was even a lineup out the door! I came back a few minutes later and the line was gone. The 2 workers were full of life and were singing away behind the counter. I ordered a latte and by the time I got my change, it was ready. I was surprised by the size of it; I ordered a tall, but it was the size of a Starbucks grande (yet much cheaper!). The latte was a tad on the weak side, I could have done with another shot of espresso but the foam was perfect, and it was piping hot, which I liked. For a little town cafe, it had plenty of seating inside (mostly all taken) & a lovely patio with umbrellas.
