This is such a nice movie theatre…read more Staff and management and friendly and work hard to keep it exceptionally clean. It has the potential to be a family friendly location. The powers that be need to pay better attention to the demographics when selecting movies to show.

I had plan to see the latest flick in the Mario and Luigi Galaxy sometime this weekend. Not sure…read morewhen but a time would present itself. So I had a plan, not a fully baked one, but also the goal that I had in mind did not need the coordination and specifics required for storming Peach's Winter Palace. So when I had my fill of a corn hole tournament I attended I decided to find a nearby theatre to enjoy the flick I wanted to see. The closest place was this one--- Regal Garden Grove. And I have to say that this place challenged my attendance instead of facilitating it. I did not buy my ticket before going to the place. However, I did see on the Flixster app that this movie was being played almost at 30 minute intervals throughout the day so whatever time I got there I would almost be guaranteed a ticket. So when I got there, it was close to 3:30 p.m. I entered, and discovered that they had a box office, of course, but no one was working it. The box office was a relic, apparently the advent of buying tickets online and other forms of technology made its purpose obsolete. So I entered and I was informed that I had two options: 1) I could either buy the tickets at the concession stand 2) or at the automated screen. I saw the line at concession stand and decided to buy the tickets with the soulless and fleshless teller. But before I did, I also noticed that this place had a 4DX option. And it is important to note that I learned of this option at the theatre, not while perusing the Flixster app. I was informed that the next 4DX Mario movie was playing at 330. I could make that one, that was my preferred choice. But getting a seat in this movie was going to be a challenge like ducking fire balls and avoiding bullet bills. I went to the automated screen and saw the option to buy a Mario movie ticket and I chose a 4:00 oclock showing, I did not see the 330 p.m. 4DX option. So I got the 4:00 option recliner seat option. Then after paying the screen went back to its original screen where all movie options was shown. This is where I saw that the landing screen had two options for the Mario movie. One option showed all the available Mario movies, except the 4DX. There was a specific button (a second touch button) to buy the 4DX Mario option. So, imagine going to a touch screen at McDonald's, and wanting to buy a combo. You go to the button to chose a combo but only see regular combos. After you pay for the regular combo you see the landing screen to learn that you have touch a second touch button to buy the x-large combos, because you cant do this in the first scree. I do not know if it is just me but this is unnecessarily difficult, like having to go through a small maze to buy a ticket. I spoke to a staff member because I wanted to change my recliner seat ticket to a 4DX ticket, which could be done. It was like 340 and I was informed that the movie had 30 minutes of previews. A manager was called, twice, and still no one came. I eventually decided just to see the movie in the recliner option theatre. I was just over the wait and the lack of active courtesy. I clipped a picture of a broken and tattered Mario Galaxy framed poster on the ground. It was kind of symbolic because the movie poster all unframed and on the floor directly spoke to my experience at this place. The movie was still great, the recliner was awesome, but I am left to wonder how would I have enjoyed the movie in the manner I wanted to see it? On a last note, a fellow movie goer also had problems purchasing her ticket in the automated teller. Her credit could not be accepted. Yes, she might not have funds or a faded chip but she could not figure out how to surpass the struggle. She ask a staff member for help the, young staff member responded, "I am not clocked in yer" and walked into a door. I would have liked for her to say, I am not able to help but maybe one of my other staff members can, let me refer one to you. Yes, she was not working, yes she is young and has professional development to acquire, but courtesy from staff members should be a baseline. At least, I think. I don't know I do not want t be a Koopa about this place but I feel like they had serious obstacles for patrons to enjoy a movie.

Movies are shown on time (aka 20 min after listed showtime) and display and sound quality is amazing. Seats recline and we've never had issues. Restrooms are always clean too. This review is mainly for the new popcorn chicken. Delicious *for movie theater food*. We never ate at movie theaters because the food tasted like school lunch but this popcorn chicken was at least one step above that :) It only comes in maybe a total of 20 small thumbpad sized bites so be warned. You will not get full from one box. We finished the popcorn chicken within 5 minutes of sitting down, and that's with us eating slowly. Still a good choice if we're not feeling actual popcorn! Side note: We loved watching Obesession.

On Tuesdays, you can get discounted tickets for only $11 or $13 online, with the processing fee. There are lots of places you can get food at before or after your movie, or you can sneak in snacks or an entire meal like me! Happy movie watching! Yelp Review #35- 2026

There are a few major issues with this theater complex that make going here a massive headache,…read moremostly starting before you even walk through the front doors. The Parking Nightmare: 10-Minute Limits: The main issue here is the parking layout. About 95% of the parking spaces are strictly designated as 10-minute parking, which makes absolutely no sense for a movie theater. The Empty Valet Lot: They have an entire massive section of the lot completely blocked off and closed for a valet service. The kicker? The valet is never even present. It's just a giant, empty, wasted lot sitting right next to the theater for no reason while regular customers struggle to find a spot. Lack of Accessibility: There are only two handicap parking spaces for the entire complex, which is completely unacceptable for a venue of this size. The Theater & Amenities: Online Fees: On top of the parking hassle, they tack on extra fees just for buying your tickets online. Peeling D-Box Seats: I paid extra to get the D-Box seats, but the material on them was completely peeling. Lack of Reinvestment: The theater itself works fine and does what a theater should do, but I feel like a company this big should be reinvesting their money much better into the actual quality of the facility. Final Verdict: Three stars because it gets the job done as a basic theater, but between the non-existent practical parking, the online fees, and the worn-out upgraded seating, they really need to improve the overall experience.

If you asked me in September what I thought of Drive-In OC, I would've told you that it's great and…read moreprobably given it 5-stars. After going to Insomniac's Park 'n Rave, Drive-In OC pales far in comparison. I came for Gareth Emery and since I bought GA tickets (which are first come, first serve), I arrived 5-min before gates opened. The security will not let you in until 4:30pm on the dot so we had to wait in the strip mall across the street. By the time we were let in, we were probably the 20th car in line. Somehow after security was done checking our vehicle, we were luckily the 2nd car to actually go into the venue and park, so we had an amazing view in the first row of GA, which is basically the 4th row (first three rows are VIP). I love their food and restroom system, which is all done on their app/website via QR code. Major plus. And their restrooms aren't port-o-potties, so even better! There were also some food trucks that you could buy directly from. Food is average event prices and obviously will not be the best-tasting food. Just good enough to suffice you if you're hungry. You are allowed to bring in your own sealed water, although now looking at the new rules, they've now limited the size per individual, which I don't like. Speaking of limitations, at that time, each car was allowed however many people as there were seatbelts in the car. So if you had 8 seatbelts, you were allowed 8 people in your group. Looking at new rules, the maximum is now 5 people. I'm not sure if this is because of COVID or if they're just greedy, but I'm not a fan of this new limitation especially since 5 is such an odd number. Another thing I wasn't a fan of is the stage and sound set-up. The stage is tiny and looks like one of those stages they do at free events. There are two screens, just as small, so it must've sucked for those in the way back. The sound system is a regular PA system and although they had extra speakers set-up in the center of the parking lot, I heard from friends that the music could be barely heard in the back. They have a channel on the FM Radio so you can blast the music in your car, but my friends who went to Kaskade said it wasn't in-sync and lagged behind the actual music a bit. Even in the 4th row, which was really really close to the stage and sound, I could easily have conversations with my boyfriend and not constantly scream, "What???" at him. This may be a good thing for some, but personally, I think it lowers the concert experience. I want to feel the music and bass bumping through my body lol Now the thing that upset me the most: social-distancing and spacing of the vehicles. The staggering system is great, and the 160 sqft of dancing space next to your car is nice too, in theory. They did not have any railings dividing these sections forcing everyone to keep to themselves. When you have concert goers inebriated, they are not going to stick to their own areas; that's just a fact. And the lazier ones trying to sneak to the front to get pics are going to cut through rows and walk into your private space instead of walking around the rows of parked cars. Since we were in the front, people were constantly walking through our private dancing space and it was rude, uncomfortable, and annoying. I think recently, they decided to add pink ribbon to divide the spaces. Pink RIBBON. RIBBON. Lol. What the hell is ribbon going to do? People can easily walk under it or just pull it down? There's no sense of safety or security at all (not to mention incredibly unprofessional, ugly, and cheap-looking). I'll be attending Gareth Emery's Laserface next weekend and I'm only going because I'm a huge fan and I want to support him during rough times. Not looking forward to the shitty sound and lack of social-distancing security.

The movie titles and times are posted on the marquee, not digital. When you walk in, behind the box office there is one kiosk to purchase your tickets, if you didn't online. Once you have your digital tickets, you'll have you go through the concession stand (it will be posted, if no one is there to check you in) and they'll give you printed seat tickets. It's kind of convenient because you can buy your snacks and beverages at the same time. There are 10 screens. If you don't arrive exactly on time and it's not a crowded theater, expect that some people will take your selected seats. Luckily, most of the seats have a great view of the screen. Concession guys were nice but a little slow as the line was building. The screen rooms were quaint and the row/seats' letters and numbers were a little difficult to see; might have to post a large letter sign at the end of each row for visibility. The bathrooms were clean and located in the middle of the movie theater.
