My friend and I recently moved to Irvine from Michigan and needed a bed. We had been sleeping on the floor for two days, so needless to say, we were desperate...and sore. When we walked in, we were greeted very politely and immediately helped. The gentleman who assisted us took our sleep concerns into consideration and helped us find great options for mattresses. We ended up choosing a great queen set, and the gentleman said he would make sure we would have it today and threw in a frame with no delivery charge. I couldn't recommend this store more! Had a great experience here. Adam was very patient and answered all our questions with no pressure to buy. He was also very nice to our 2 kids who were running around the store. He wasn't a bit bothered by them which is a relief and we were able to take our time to find the right mattress for us. We purchased the mattress at 430 and received the delivery at 8pm the same day. The delivery guys were extremely nice and went out of their way to accommodate us. Wish I could have this kind of experience anywhere I shop. Also, I originally didn't have the deliver guys take my old mattress because we were giving it away to a family member. Turns out they didn't need the box spring. I called the store the next day and they sent someone back out to our house to pick it up with no charge. This review is regarding the delivery which was a disaster. Delivery men would not take their shoes off to enter my home and had no boot covers. They threw the mattresses/boxsprings around my home scuffing walls neglecting to bear any caution on consideration and left a grease smudge on a $6850 (retail not purchase price) Aireloom mattress. My experience with the salesman was excellent. I did get a great deal on my bed that saved me $600 over what I was offered for a comparable mattress at Sit N Sleep. BUYER BEWARE! Let me start by saying this, I am not really one to write negative reviews on companies, but appreciate those who have provided their candid feedback in the past and have helped to guide my buying decisions. This experience was SO BAD I have now become INSPIRED to share the facts of my story and let you be the judge of if you still want to do business with the infamous Orange County Mattress. In my experience, initially you will be greeted with a disingenuous smile and empty showroom. The knowledge of the product is limited at best and is just enough to "sell you," so don't ask any follow up third or fourth level questions. You will be asked if you would like a bottle of water while you look around, but go into a bathroom where they don't even have soap to wash your hands because "they just ran out and the shipment didn't come in yet." The sales people have a true used car sales swagger, offering all the sweeteners within a deal to get you off their lot. They will tell you what you need to know but no more to keep you on the hook. In my case, my sales person actually scratched out a portion of the contract when I had a question about the terms and said, "yeah don't worry about that, it doesn't apply." They even went as far as to say, we normally don't do discounts on Tempur-pedic, but I will write it as an exchange discount, so we can get around that. This is where their "proclaimed" customer experience starts to kick in. I was extremely dissatisfied with the bed. There was no adjustment period going to tell me otherwise. Remember all the rule bending I mentioned before, discounts, scratching out terms on the contract, etc, well suddenly they are now all applicable and they throw nothing but rules at you during the exchange. YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS ORANGE COUNTY MATTRESS! Now when there is a customer experience opportunity they become unprofessional and are unequipped to handle it. Funny, never needed to call the "boss" to get permission to close the sale and offer any discount, but now to do a simple "comfort exchange" the boss needs to be consulted. Oh and all the "savings," which aren't really savings if you do your homework like I should have and comparison shop their competitors, guess what, they don't apply anymore because it's an exchange. Basically, you better hope you buy a bed and love it, because if you don't, you are going to be in for a bumpy ride my friend. Again, in my case, all I simply wanted was a comfortable bed, I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was going to be the one taking the hit on the purchase, but because it wasn't "equal or higher value" (the rule book again, which didn't apply at first) the "BOSS" said they were not doing it. So they can do all of these magic tricks to close the sale, but when it comes to taking care of their customers through an exchange and working with PEOPLE with integrity and respect, this is an impossible feat for Orange County Mattress. Their poor values and "used car" tactics are archaic and in a digital age where other companies make the purchase experience seamless in nature, a continuation of these practices will render this company obsolete. To the BOSS, bring in some fresh management that knows how to sincerely drive the customer experience and feels empowered to do so. Know that you are dealing with PEOPLE and their families. There has not been one company who has lasted who has forgotten that fundamental principle. Listen to your employees, who seem distressed and in a toxic work environment. Glassdoor - "The owner is a volatile bully who is verbally abusive. There is no chance for advancement. They make you feel you are lucky to have a job. They show no respect to their employees. The only reason anyone stays is the money. He fires people on a whim just to keep you off guard. They offer no benefits or holiday pay." "No benefits, no paid vacation or accrued time off, 10 hour work day but only get paid for 9. They look for any excuse to dock your commissions and no explanation or breakdown." "No company support or Formal training, no traffic in many stores leading to very long boring days yet if you have blank days they blame you for not selling." "Company does no advertising resulting in no traffic most days. Can be very slow. Pay can vary widely each month. Nothing is computerized. No communication between stores. Cannot provide feedback to upper management." Culture is driven from the top. As the owner you are responsible for providing a healthy culture for your employees and thus providing an enjoyable buying environment for your customers. You know how to reach me to make this situation right, but more importantly, change the culture of your stores to treat future hard working buyers with the dignity and respect they deserve throughout the ENTIRE sale. Don't just make a buck and move on or you will soon find your stores even more emptier than they are now. read more

Walked into the store this morning and wasn't sure exactly what kind of mattress we wanted. Bryce was really helpful and had us try out several mattresses. He was knowledgable, patient and not pushy at all. We picked out the mattress by 11 am and it was delivered by 2pm. This is the best experience I have had at a mattress store and will definitely go back for kids beds in the future. Thanks Bryce!!! I wanted to write a follow up on my experience with OC Mattress. Since our sales person was not able to help, I reached out to the customer service hotline located on the receipt. The first time I called, I spoke to a woman who took down my information and she stated that she would have to reach out to the store and will call me the next day to follow up once she gathers all the information. The following day, I received no call. I waited another day and again no call. On the third day, I called to follow up. I explained to the customer service rep my situation and also mentioned that I never got a call back. She dismissed me and asked what I needed speaking to me with an attitude. I stated to her that I did not understand why she felt the need to give me an attitude when all I am calling for is for help with my situation. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me to call back on Monday and ask for Patty. When I asked her for Patty's last name, she stated "that is all you need to know". When I asked her how would I know if I have the right person, she stated Patty is the manager. When I asked for her name, she hung up on me! I had to do a double take on the phone to make sure that I calling "customer service". I could not believe that for company with a mission statement that states "Orange County Mattress is COMMITTED to quality, value, customer service and satisfaction" would treat their customers in this manner. I understand that there will be one offs and maybe your first interaction with this company might have been a positive one but imagine if one day, you come back to purchase a mattress, went home to try it and find yourself with a stiff neck and sore shoulder. So whats more important than sleep? A wife that needs her beauty sleep! I HAD a nightmare for a mattress for the past few years and realized I needed to replace it since my wife and my herniated disk was telling me that my old mattress sucked. Yelped a couple places and found OC mattress. I liked the reviews and YELP has led me to me some great places so I thought lets check this place out. Walked in and walked out with mattress. Simple as cake. Now the good stuff: I was serviced by a gentleman named Bryce. EPIC. Nice guy with the "let me help you, take your time, I will walk you around, answer all you questions (cuz he knows his stuff), easy-going, no pressure attitude". You go here, ask for Bryce because he takes the stress out because purchasing a mattress is lots $$$$$. He has some jokes on the side and made it a smooth transaction. One thing I like is he will do what he can (in his power) to get you what you need with a high quality level of service. BTW: Bought a temperpedic cal-king mattress with cooling technology. You should really shop here if you need a mattress. Scott, the man who assisted us, is so knowledgable and polite. He explained every mattress to us. He didn't follow us around or pressure us. He didn't try to sell us the most expensive mattresses or a ton of crazy add ons. We left spending half of what we would have spent anywhere else. And on top of that, they have free shipping and free haul away of the old mattress. Our delivery time was 2-6p and they called a little before 2 to say they were 20 minutes away and were here in less than 15! And the delivery men were quick and polite. I purchased the top of the line Airloom handmade mattress for nearly $5000.00. It was very comfortable for about the first Month. Then it started sagging on one side. Then the whole mattress become lumpy. I called customer service And they immediately sent someone out. Although you could visually see that one side was lower than the other, the representative said this is completely normal. How could this be possible. So I tried sleeping on it for another few weeks and started waking up with the worst back pain. Customer service did not care and said they already did the evaluation and it is was fine. Clearly it's not fine. I had to go buy another mattress because my back was hurting so bad. read more

Friendly and easy. My husband and I were looking for a mattress and went to this location. We were assisted by Dan who was helpful and educated us on the various mattresses. He wasn't pushy and gave us time to try them out and talk to one another. We weren't quit ready to buy that day and came back a 2nd time to pick from what we narrowed our choices to. Dan wasn't there, but Scott was and he assisted us with the sale. Both gentlemen were very nice and Scott was so accommodating about the delivery. We got our mattress delivered the next day and two individuals came to take away our old mattress and give us our new ones. Both were very professional, polite and helpful. It was a hot day (high 80s) and we had them bring the two box spring options so we could pick what we wanted. The fact they were willing to do that and not snarl at the fact we were playing around with the options was very nice.
