Fast forward 4 years and we're buying a Full mattress for our guest room because we have our first baby due next month and need a comfy bed for our parents/nanny to stay! We were hoping they had a record from our previous visit. They unfortunately did not but Thomas was able to discern our exact same mattress choice from last time in about 3 questions. We even test laid down a couple to make sure but Thomas was spot on. After spending quite awhile discussing our uniquely special needs (quadriplegic who needs a high/low bed) physically showing what that is, and having the salesperson confirm via telephone with their manager, that the frame was a high/low, we purchased $7,000 worth of mattresses and frames at the OC Fair - Upon delivery the first thing we noticed was the bed was not a high/low frame, however, 2 things kept us from refusing delivery on the spot. The first, the 2 guys that delivered literally spoke no English so my broken high school Spanish and a game of charades was the best I could do, and they couldn't help, they were simply there to deliver, but more importantly, we had already gotten rid of the frame we had, and a quadriplegic cannot sleep on the floor, or even a couch, until things got squared away. Got on the phone with our salesperson and we agreed to accept the delivery, and Mattress Firm agreed to pick up the useless (to us) frames once we could secure one that was a high/low. It was then we learned they don't even sell a high/low frame! Salesperson and their manager blatantly lied to make a sale. Immediately we went to buy a high/low frame, have it shipped from Atlanta, and delivered to our home. That frame alone cost almost $7,000! That took one week. We arranged for Mattress Firm and the other vendor to arrive within an hour from one another. Now, we had the issue of getting a credit for the frames they sold us. They fought tooth and nail and insisted on a $750(!) "restocking" fee! Wait, what? You sold us something that wasn't what we ordered, and you fibbed to make the sale! Eventually I agreed to $500 "delivery" fee, but in the end they credited back the price of the frames charging us the $750(!) "restocking" fee! Now I cannot get anyone to help me because there wasn't a brick and mortar store to go back to. Pretty shady business practice.

I visited the store a couple of more times over my trial period to re-try the FIRM version of what…read moreI bought. It was more of a peace of mind and to see if I would be even more comfortable (slightly greedy) on the FIRM than the MEDIUM I bought. I was a bit conflicted because for "health purposes" I was trying to transition sleeping on my back more in spite of being predominantly a side sleeper by nature. In the end, I found that I was comfortable with my MEDIUM whether I was on my side or my back. If I were predominantly a back sleeper, I feel the FIRM would have won out and been the best fit because neither mattress is super firm. I think my MEDIUM is truly a "medium", but their FIRM is more of a "medium firm" because of the memory foam. However, since I am still a 70% or 80% side sleeper, I made the right call with purchasing the MEDIUM. I had the wife photograph me on my side to evaluate my spinal alignment with their included pillows. It was on point. I returned to the store and tried the firm and the MEDIUM, where my spinal alignment was evaluated by the sales associate and with the MEDIUM it was a good fit for side or back sleeping. As a result, I took no further action. The pillows are excellent and hold their shape very well, but some pile will shift, but I flip them a few times throughout the night to ensure they are supporting my neck consistently throughout the night. I did read online that hybrid mattresses can take longer to break in and thus you may not know until 30-60 days or more whether the mattress is a good fit. I did find this to be true. I do recommend you follow their guidance with the rotation schedule for the mattress which is necessary for warranty and ideal comfort. And add a quality waterproof wrap mattress pad for warranty and protection. Even with the wrap mattress pad on I did not find "heat" to be an issue, I assume due to the design with cooling layers etc. built in. I communicated with Cliff a couple more times via text and in-person and he was as great after the sale as he was before the sale. That's the kind of person and company I want to do business with.

Then he had us lay on a mattress that weighed us and did some crazy diagnosis. It determined what type of mattresses would be suitable for our needs. The first mattress felt like I was laying in a cloud. We tried a bunch of other mattresses afterwards but the first mattress was the best. I don't know the correct terminology but we are able to adjust this mattress to go up at an angle at both ends. What ?!? Diego made the process easy and painless. We were in and out within an hour. And we got out mattress delivered the next morning!! Talk about service !! I can't wait to watch a movie in bed propped up with a glass of wine !!
