At first we had a little hiccup with the delivery but the way the customer service rep handled it was so impressive. She not only gave us a credit but had the delivery time down to the very hour so we didnt have to wait at home all day long. The sales rep in the store was also great. Not pushy and very friendly. I purchased Cal King size Serta plush Mattress set , but I found out after delivery that due to the high box the bed was too high. Store salesmen gave me run around about doing anything for a week, but finally when I talked to Corporate Customer service Manager, she agreed to replace high box springs with low box springs right away without wasting any time @ N/C & offered free delivery the same day. I would recommend any one to go to this place for mattresses, but if there is any problem, call the corporate customer service & not to waste any time with store salesmen-they are not ready or authorize to take care of any problem. Had to go back the next day since I forgot to purchase a box spring, we got it added to the order no problem and it was delivered (for free) all together the following Sunday. We went to OC Mattress today- Pros: knowledgeable salesman, large selection, decent prices with discounts. Cons: When we went to leave the mood changed from friendly to uncomfortable, Paul turned high pressure on us, talking about wheeling and dealing to call their boss. Name a reasonable price for us to work with, etc, etc. Another salesman chimed in that 60% of ppl buy from the first store they go into and the another 30% buy from the second store. It was like tag team of high pressure. I had asked how long their sale was going on for and he said something to the effect of - "Let's be real, once you leave, there is like a 1% chance I will see you again. I mean I would love to see you again- I just know I probably won't". It was very off putting. I am someone who just likes to shop around, and I like to buy from someone I like. This was the first store we went to and I wanted to look at more than one place to make sure I was not getting hosed. We went to 4 more stores after this one, then we decided we might actually like the mattress from here the best, however, we were so off put by the salesmen's pitch at this location, that we went to OC Mattress in Fullerton instead to look at the same beds again. They were wrong we actually would have returned but we really wanted to avoid dealing those guys after that encounter. After trying those beds again, we decided we actually liked a bed at another store better. That store had a wonderful salesman as well that we really liked too so we returned there to make our purchase. Its crazy, but by being such jerks here, we actually found a bed at another store that we liked better. As a side note we spent $200 more ($400 more than what they said they could haggle it down to) on the mattress we liked better at a different store- so it's not all about price guys. I think the salesman need to be trained on how to deal with different types of people because that pitch will not work for most people on the first store they walk into. Sorry we came here first Paul, but we would have returned had we been treated differently. read more

I went in today searching for a new mattress set. I knew what I was looking for in terms of comfort, style, and materials. I was greeted by a salesperson who made it very clear that he thought my preferences and wishes were irrelevant. He even went to far as to belittle and insult me. I came here a couple times, a few months apart. Second time I was fairly determined to make a purchase if I could get the price I want. I had found a few I liked on Amazon but once I came in I realized you really do need to try out the mattress. I did quite a few laps with Sam (I think was his name if I recall) negotiating. He was pleasant to haggle with and ultimately that allowed us reach and deal and we were both happy. During the long negotiation I did some price comparisons and their prices overall seemed competitive. Also he struck me as honest and knowledgeable. I think if you're patient, and willing to put in the effort, then there is a good deal to be had here. This is the exact type of local store than I prefer to frequent. If you are not uber-specific about what you want and have an open mind, you can leave quite happy in all departments as I did. Would highly recommend and frankly, you'd be a fool not to at least make this a stop in your quest for better Z's. read more

Shopping for a pricier item is rarely fun. Even when you know what you want, it can take days or weeks to find something that fits. We went to a few locations around Orange County and San Diego and were absolutely horrified at the treatment and prices. First off, anyone that goes to a place like Sit N Sleep is a complete sucker. They have the most ridiculous prices on products that only sell because of heavy marketing, most of them pretty marginal quality. We went into LA Mattress (part of LA carpet) and had an even worse experience, where the salesman actually asked "What will it take to get you to buy a mattress today?" and practically chased us into the parking lot. The used car lot is THAT way. Went to Custom Comfort mattress and laid on the most uncomfortable, expensive mattress I've ever touched for about 3 seconds. Then we saw this place. Salesman was very courteous. We told him flat out our budget and what we wanted. He showed us three options. So far, the only three options that fit our requirements (budget and mattress type.) Bought an excellent mattress that (five full years later) is still like brand new. Delivery, frame, set up, all either free or very reasonable. Showed up on time and took away our old crap. Never even knew I could sleep that well. I'll buy my next mattress here, thank you! read more

As I am laying in my amazing cloud of a bed I thought it was the best time to write my review on this amazing company. My husband and I came in only 30 minutes before closing after spending a couple hours at sit n sleep. Something just didn't feel right there, and they were just trying to sell us anything they could and never even asked us anything personal or even for our names. Leaving there and going to this store was the best decision I have ever made. Immediately my husband and I were greeted my Gregory, who is not only probably the sweetest man I've ever met but hands down the most passionate and helpful salesperson I've ever encountered. He took the time to sit down and talk with me about my career and life and didn't even look at the clock once. He didn't pressure us to try the priciest bed right off the bat, or sell us something just for his benefit. I immediately fell in love with one of the most expensive beds (on my own) and he tried to help us find others more in our price range, but I was SET on this bed. And omg it is a life changer. I have never laid on anything so soft and plush in my existence. I am so grateful for this experience, and so happy to be out of pain and I feel like a princess in this bed. I might have spent an arm and a leg but who cares it feels so good and no one deserves the commission like Gregory does. I love that they are family owned and they also give excellent service. Paul is always so friendly, knowledgeable and works within your budget. Absolutely recommend you at least visit this store before you buy anywhere else. The selection is great and their encouragement to lay around for awhile was extremely helpful. We initially went in only for a mattress for our five year old, but after seeing the latest and greatest technology in beds, we soon realized we too were in desperate need of a new mattress. Our salesman Paul was incredibly patient and professional as we ask every possible question about the features of the different brands of mattresses (and I'm sure the same questions two or three times). We ended up laying around for about two hours resulting in us purchasing the Serta IComfort Directions mattress along with the Motion Perfect adjustable base - If you have never experienced this combination, I strongly suggest you go see Paul and lay around for awhile. You'll never know how badly you need a new mattress until you get a new one - WOW, we LOVE this bed and the buying process was fun with no pressure to make a fast decision. They even delivered our entire new bed and the new mattress for our five year old within an hour of us leaving the store. The delivery guys were impressive how they navigated the stairs and proficiently set everything up in minutes. Initial sale and delivery went well. The mattress I bought is a plush mattress. At delivery, the mattress is extremely firm. They said it needs a 45 - 60 day break in period. I explained being a side sleeper that I cannot do a break in period as it is painful to sleep on it. The sales person indicated I could upgrade the mattress and it would be a bit softer initially but no guarantees. The additional cost was upwards of $3000. Returning is not an option and the sales person refused to check to see if a floor model was available from another store. At this point, I'm out $2000 for an unusable mattress. read more

What an amazing experience!! My wife and I wanted a new mattress as we were moving to our new apartment the next day. We drove by and went in. There we met Gregory. While helping out another person he greeted us and encouraged us to start trying out the beds. He finished helping out the other person and I guess they weren't ready to buy and Gregory was so polite to the lady and off she went. Now we had all his attention. Instead of being a pushy sells man trying to push a product, he started asking us questions and eventually we landed in the tempurpedic cloud luxe. By this time it was time to close the store as it was late. Never did he mention that he had to leave even though not knowing if we wanted to buy or if we were just window shopping. I then let him know we wanted to see about pricing. He explained to us how financing worked as we wanted to do half cash half finance. He did the entire process not knowing if we would get approved or not. Always with a positive attitude and 0 pressure. We got approved. Bottom line. OC Mattress already had a competitive price after checking online at other stores. I asked for a reasonable discount and it was approved. Gregory got it delivered the next day just as promised The only negative is that the delivery guys were extremely rude to my wife and they scratched the wall while setting down the mattress. I paid for a Cal King and they sold me a regular king for the Cal King price. When I called to complain about the size, they said that the actual size varies and that it was a Cal King - funny, the regular King size sheets fit it perfectly. Rip off! read more

I have to agree with Alison R, who wrote a review back in January, 2017. I took my elderly father into OC Mattress yesterday. He had gone on his own to another place in Orange, bought a mattress and ended up returning it because it wasn't firm enough. He gave them two chances and neither worked for him. I don't even want to tell you how much the saleman soaked him for. But, at least they gave him his money back. My Dad has an inoperable back and needs a very firm mattress (that, plus he is over 320 lbs). Now, on to Gregory; he was polite and made sure my Dad laid on 4 different mattresses for a decent amount of time. Gregory never pushed my Dad toward the most expensive mattress, but let him lay there and make his own decision. In the other place, my Dad was in and out in about 20 minutes. Gregory knew his products very well and was able to answer all questions we had off the top of his had. i had done some research so I knew what Gregory was saying was correct. It was comforting. I highly recommend seeing Gregory at Orang County Mattress if you're in the market for a mattress. You will not be disappointed. read more

Where do I begin? We went to Ashley furnitue which has really nice mattresses and even higher prices. They'll even charge you for the frame. We went to a couple of small stores that we noticed driving down the road because of their sale signs and within our budget we could only find poor quality. We finally decided to try Orange County Mattress. We'd been there once before and we were turned off by the salesman we'd talked to. It seemed like he couldn't wait for us to leave. He was very disengaged from our questions and kept disappearing when we needed to talk to him. We did like one mattress in particular so that's why we went back. The salesman we worked with was knowledgable about the construction of the mattresses and the materials they are made from. He was also very patient, no pressure to buy. We must have laid on every mattress in the store and we were there for several hours. We went back and forth, back and forth. The reason we were undecided was because I wanted a foam mattress and my boyfriend wanted a pillowtop. He had us try the Englander Level III. It is a pillowtop made partially from foam. We didn't have all the cash right away so we were allowed to put down what we had and we paid the remaining two weeks later. No financing or penalties; they just waited for us to pay the balance. The mattress was 50% off, the delivery and the bedrame were both free, they paid the sales tax and we bought a protector for like $80.00. We upgraded from a Queen to a California King because the price ended up being so low. In the end our total cost was under $1300.00. They offered to have it delivered that night and we chose instead for the next day. I was by myself when the delivery guys arrived and I was a bit nervous about that. They were very nice and respectful. I ended up staying down stairs to keep out of their way. I wasn't sure the mattress would fit up the stairs because of the low ceiling. They were experienced enough to figure out how to get it up and make sure the mattress was not damaged. They set up everything and made sure I had a copy of my warranty, receipt for payment and copy of the delivery ticket. We have been very comfortable on our mattress for many months now. read more

i just bought 2 mattresses from orange county mattress, i was at the store in santa ana, the mattress are fabulous but the service was outstanding. i had a bed that took 3 men to carry down the stairs, they only sent 2 men. when they saw what they were dealing with, they waited for a 3rd man to come and help them, they wrapped my bed and nothing was damaged. i also went into the orange store to ask questions before i bought anything. they were all so helpful and kind. i would recomment this store to anyone out there looking. thanks oc for going the xtra mile. anaheim statisfied customer. read more
