    Stagg 23A

Came back for my third visit to Orange Hill Liquor & am amazed at how wonderful a job the staff & new management does at making it an enjoyable experience. I don't even want to call it a liquor store because so many other liquor stores have a bad name or bad reputation. Orange hill is more of a boutique shop that has GREAT SERVICE, GREAT SELECTION, & GREAT PRICES. I love a place like this that you can feel comfortable browsing & that cares about making the environment enjoyable for its customers. This time I stayed for over an hour browsing the shop & chatting w/ MJ, who is the sweetest lady. She made me feel welcome & we chatted for quite a bit while I pondered what to pick up. Then she introduced me to the owner, Sam, who was a great guy & you could tell how much he cared about, not only the shop, but the people who came in & the surrounding community. I ended up picking up a bottle of Stagg 23A & was pumped to add it to the collection. Thanks again to MJ & Sam. Much appreciated for another great experience & can't wait to be back.

This place had to be the most uninviting liquor store I've ever been to. It was dark, dusty and a lot the stuff was expired. Well, I heard it was under new ownership and I stopped by and wow!!!! It's not the same place, this is what a liquor store is supposed be like. Now there's a beer cave, along with huge selection of spirits, wine and mixers. The floors are new, the lighting is updated as well as the shelving and fixtures. Lastly the pricing is now consistent and competitive specially for the convenience of the location. And the staff is friendly and helpful and if they don't have something you want just ask and they'll try to get it for you. So glad I stopped in, don't hesitate to make this your go to liquor store if you live in the area.

Went in there tonight and Was blown away by how amazing it was! It's under new ownership, and they have a beer cave! Found some top rate beers from the West Coast. Stoked for them and for me!

Attention neighbors!!! Orange Hill Liquor has a new owner & this place is amazing. Sam has done a great job revitalizing this place. It is bright, clean, great products, excellent bourbon & tequila selection (including those hard to find/allocated bottles), and friendly service. This store will be a great addition to our neighborhood!

I haven't seen this here in CA yet so this is cool that this has been here for so long! My bf has been going here for years but I haven't been yet. They have a variety of beers and wine bottled and also in tap. There's a coffee shop to order some lattes or tea in the center. Then they also have some food. There's many tables to sit and it's spacious. Not too busy the time we went and We were able to watch World Cup game without a crazy crowd. We enjoyed our lunch and drinks!

I have gone the past 2 years and never had issues getting it on the first day. This year was different. I got there around 5:05 and walked into the shop to see a lot of tables empty. I was shocked to see that. I waited in line with maybe like two people in front of me and guess what they asked of Pliny was still available. The guy working said to the people in front of me that they sold out. It was my turn I asked if they had it and the guy said that they had a line since 3pm and that they sold out of the keg. We ended up getting two beers since we went anyways but that's when things didn't add up. He kept telling all the other people that started to show up the same thing. These are reasons why it didn't add up 1) empty seats inside but had a line since 3pm and beer was released at 4pm 2) I don't think the people going for younger would just order one beer and not try other RR beers? 3) only one guy working beer counter and having to clean the tables and make sandwiches? 4) 12 oz pours of beer and keg with about 1984 oz would make it 166 beers. No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. I'm sure a lot of people all night were disappointed to see that they didn't have it or post anything about it.

It's convenient that they also have a food truck because we definitely wanted to eat. Before arriving, we confirmed what the food was on their instagram. The beer was great and there were many options. The space is pleasant. They had the game on but it wasn't overpowering and you didn't have to be into it if you didn't want to. The bathroom has the sinks outside so you can wash your hands without having to go into the bathroom which is very convenient. The service is outstanding. The person who I talked to did not seem very impressed with my questions about the tap list. I had also seen someone post a photo of the menu a few days before my visit, but the menu had rotated by the time I stopped by. I was hoping for them to be serving something dark since stouts are my favorite, but no dice. The root beer float had also been switched out for a chocolate shake, which was creamy and QUITE boozy-tasting. Their sours are truly fruity and acidic. I also enjoyed the passionfruit white guava (and some other fruit which I didn't taste) seltzer, which was heavy on the white guava and even had the same color. The cups are made of a thin layer of glass, which gives off a cute minimalistic air. I'd be interested in coming back to try seasonal offerings, based on previous menu photos that I've seen on Yelp.

One of the beers we got is the Tropical Hideaway, which really reminds me of the pineapple Dole whip at Disneyland. It's a smoothie-style beer with lots of tropical flavor. Tons of tables outside to hang out, and when we went there was a food truck with great smash burgers outside. And the bartenders are super knowledgeable about the beer -- we got some great recs. Lastly, they sell canned beer to take home. I got the She Shot First IPA (which has a very Rosie the Riveter meets Star Wars vibe), and it was phenomenal. Definitely a great place to spend a Friday night!

My favorite was "From the Deep". The Rocket pop frozen seltzer was too sweet to enjoy. The "Garden Studies" seltzer was very good due to the lychee and other flavors but also a bit too sweet. My dad really enjoyed all the IPAs, this was his Father's Day gift. But the bartender did not greet us at all when we walked in, he was not friendly at all in my opinion.Though he did answer most questions I had about the beers and seltzers because he seemed pretty knowledgeable, but not happy to answer my questions. Had to go back 3-4 times to ask if the frozen seltzer was finally ready. Then when I went back in to ask for samples, I asked how many I'm able to try and the bartender said "you've already had a lot so not many more" so I only asked for 2 though I wanted to try 1 more. But I didn't feel welcome and comfortable enough to ask. I'll definitely just get my beer to go next time. Beer and seltzer quality is great though!!!
