I don't really go out of my way to write reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and I would like to share. I've been with the office for almost five years. I have a senior dog who will be 15 in a few days. I've never really had any terrible experiences with the staff or the doctor, until recently. My dog was treated for a uti that he may or may not have had, but based on the doctors quick visit with my dog, he prescribed him the medicine. I contacted him about a week or so after the medicine was complete to let him know my dog was still urinating on himself and I was concerned about pancreatic issues. He told me to come in and they would conduct a urinalysis. Perfect! That was complete and I was told I would get a call with the results the following 24 hours....that call never came. I reached out to the office about a week later asking for the results and was told, "it was negative." I asked for further information bc the symptoms my dog was exhibiting didn't make sense with the negative result. No explanation. Ok, fine. Even that didn't necessarily leave a bad taste in my mouth. A few days ago I walked into the office, in tears, asking to speak to the doctor as my dog has rapidly declined and was not doing well. As I am crying and visibly distraught, three of the staff ask me "well what's wrong...is it bloodwork that he needs?" I said, "no, I want to speak to the doctor, my dog is not doing well." They continued to ask, "what exactly is it" again, as I am visibly distraught. I told them I did not feel comfortable disclosing that information as I believed it was obvious as I continued to say my dog is not doing well and I wanted to speak to the doctor. I was then told to try to email the doctor and he was not available to speak to me. As upset as I was, I did email the doctor....guess what, I never received a call or an email back. I decided I would switch to a different vet as I am in need of guidance as my dog is not doing well. I contacted the office asking for my dogs medical records to which the staff told me they would email me. I did not receive the email. I then called the following day asking for the records and was told, "I have been meaning to call you, I don't think the email went through." Well, there was no way she was "meaning to call me" bc it was already noon and they like to drill into everyone's head that between 1230-3 they are in surgeries. So, really...they weren't actually going to call me back. Anyway, she resent the email with no attachments, amazing! Forget about having compassion, they can't even send a proper email! I called, for the third time, and this time I was angry and said I needed the email as soon as possible, this was absolutely absurd. The staff then proceeded to explain that she had a full lobby of people and she would send it later, to which I cut her off and told her to not explain further, I just needed her to do her job...send the damn email, it takes two seconds and if they would have done it correctly the first time, we would not have to go back and forth on the phone. Given all of these things, I have yet to receive a simple call from the doctor himself. I would have never thought in a million years that people who work with animals would treat pet owners like this...absolutely insane. No compassion, no brain cells either. Please save yourself the money, bc this place is insanely priced, save yourself the terrible staff interactions, and find yourself and your pet a different clinic. read more

For ten years, Dr. Jahan has been the primary veterinarian for my beloved doggies. My dog ​​is now eleven years old, and we have never had any problems with any of his diagnoses. Every visit is a success because he is always very careful with my babies. The place is filthy. They have several dead plants not being cared for and hairballs in the corners, even though I was the first appointment. The staff is rude and doesn't follow through on commitments. They lost/ miss filed a signed rabies vaccination record and had to do it again.They quoted a cost for euthanasia and called me 1 day later while I was driving there to spend last moments with my dog and said the cost had gone up by $100. They sent a happy birthday text to the dog that was euthanized. I have moved my other 3 dogs to a much better practice. Better facilities/ cleanliness, much better staff, even better prices. The old clinic wasn't smart enough to remove a note in the patient information section stating "noisy client" when sending records out. I wouldn't even give one star, but it's not an option. read more

Dr. Rana is an amazing vet. He is so smart. He is always looking out for the best interest of the pet but does things in a logical manner, instead of ordering tons of tests up front. His bedside manner is impeccable - he is so kind to the pets and their owners. My dogs all trust and relax with him. He understands how strong of an emotional connection we have with our dogs. He spends a lot of time explaining things and giving options. You never feel rushed. His front desk staff is also very sweet and helpful. The office itself is always clean and beautiful. read more

OrangeHill Veterinary Hospital took wonderful care of our pup while we were visiting from out of town. The doctor was friendly, reassuring, and efficient--we were in and out in no time. Prices were very reasonable, and they even waived the exam fee, so we only paid for the medication we needed. Bonus points for Gigi, the resident office cat, who showered us with cuddles at checkout. From my experience, receptions usually don't know anything but the receptionists here were very informative. They offer a ton of services so you can come here to get most things done that doesn't require a specialist. Also, even post Covid, you can be with your dog in the exam room! Ever since Covid this has been very rare. I'm glad I can be with my dog during the exam. My favorite thing is how accessible they are. I've been taking my dog here since the first few years that this vet hospital has been open (since 2012-2013 maybe?) when she was about 4-5 years old (she's 17 now and still very healthy). It took so long for me to finally write a review but I just want to say how much I love this place! They have great customer service. The vet tech girls are always so nice and helpful. Dr. Rana is so knowledgeable in his field and always listens to my concerns. The team really knows how to make you feel better and reassure you when you're stressed out about your pet. I cannot ask for a better place that I can trust for my dog's care. When my dog was 14 years old, she tore her ACL and needed surgery. They made sure she was in good enough health to go through surgery. We were able to get that done quickly within a week so that her leg didn't get worse. They made sure she was healing up fine with no adverse reactions. Due to her old age, she's developed arthritis in her lower back so now we've been coming here every week for her laser treatment, which has shown to help her tremendously with her back pain and posture. She's now become the vet hopital's famous customer. :D We truly appreciate you Dr. Rana and the team! Highly recommend getting the Wellness Plan that they offer. Brought my dog in here almost a year ago after she was attacked by a Coyote. They took very good care of her. I had to bring her back again today for some other issues. The staff is very nice and friendly. They are doing curbside service only but are very good with calling with updates about your pet while you wait. They also give you pricing up front before they provide any services. The doctor is very nice and informative listens to your questions and is very Thorough. They are available appointment only I believe The last appointment is around 5:00 p.m. They are a bit pricey compared to some of the other veterinarians in the area but aside from that I find this to be a great place to bring your pet read more

I found this hospital on Yelp! when I was looking for a local vet near my family's home. I found them initially attractive for the $75 for $100 deal and all the other deals they offered. I figured to try them out for my doberman puppy. Well 7 years later Dr Rana is not only still my dogs vet, but also my extended family's vet. Dr Rana doesn't try to break your bank and does the most effective and safe options he can, my poor girl dobie was hit by a car as a puppy and also had hip issues from bad breeding. He was able to restore her hip as a puppy and she hasn't had issues since. Even brought a stray I found (who we kept) and dr Rana was so sweet to little George. The puppy and kitten plans are the way to go, it's not much per month to have visits and shots etc all covered. read more

My dog died. We fought this infection for over a year and it was just too strong. We never were able to completely control it. It never should've gotten this bad in the first place. I took my dog here for a check up, and Dr. Rana recommended a blood test. He told me I would get the results by the next day and that he would call to review them with me. After a week of not hearing from him, I called to check in. The receptionist told me they would call me when they had the results. A week after that, I called again (two full weeks) and the results weren't back and the receptionist told me very rudely she already informed me they would call. I asked to speak to Dr. Rana, and he told me the results were in, but he needed to review them, and would call me back shortly. 4 hours later they were about to close, and I called back and was told Dr. Rana left for the day. The next day I called and he went over the results with me for 30 seconds and rushed me off the phone. Won't be going back. read more

After having a horrible experience with the Vet I had been going to for close to 12 years my sister suggested we contact Dr. Rana with our Doberman's ear hematoma (who has von-willebrand disease) he is the only vet she trust with her bulldog. Although the procedure was a little stressful for me because of my dogs blood condition he made me feel comfortable during the whole process. I was recommended this place by a friend and I will not be returning. The vet is late to all visits (sometimes over an hour) that were already scheduled and no apologies. I was sexually assaulted by the vet, Dr. Rana, when he cornered me in the room and rubbed his hands on my body inappropriately. When I was in the room with Dr. Rana, he reached his arm all the way around my body and rubbed my side up and down while I was holding down my cat for observation of seasonal allergies. I have been to vets with many pets over my lifetime and never once was I physically touched by any vet, especially not sexually. I immediately reported the touching to the woman who works the reception desk and she informed me that Dr. Rana was just "really touchy." I reported the sexual assault to the Orange Police who went to Dr. Rana's office to ask him what happened. Report No.: 21-08-1135. Of course he denied it. The issue was brought to the Orange County DA, who ultimately did not press charges because it was "he said she said" and she suggested to me that next time I record what happens in the room. If you chose to go to this vet, I suggest to not go in the room alone with the vet, and also record the whole thing. On top of being sexually assaulted by Dr. Rana, he signed my mom up for some monthly care contract. My mom attempted to cancel this monthly charge multiple times after the Dr. sexually assaulted me, but he still has yet to cancel it. TLDR: The vet sexually assaulted me and now refuses to cancel my mom's monthly membership fee. read more

When calling to make an appointment under the impression they had financing since it shows as ad on the website and finance company states they are associated with them the front desk girl was very rude on the whole situation. I sent a screenshot to show just to make sure since I got approved for it... she cut me off and just said "I know but I'm trying to tell you we are not associated with anything like that." I let her know that it's not a problem and I just wanted to take pre cautions and just so they are aware for any future clients and relations. After reading they're negative reviews online and this personal encounter with the front desk receptionist I will no longer be bring my pet here. I strongly recommend taking your pet to east Chapman veterinary down the street to receive quality care and treatment for your loved one. I'm on the Banfield Wellness Plan so I would typically take my dog to the Banfield in Orange. However, every single time my dog has an "emergency", Banfield is never able to accommodate an emergency visit. This time around, my dog decided to swallow the squeaker in the squeaker toy. After about 3 days, he still didn't pass it in his poop so I decided to take him to Orange Hill Vet Hospital, which is a block away from where we live. The hospital was super accommodating and willing to look at us at 430 PM. Dr. Rana recommended and x-ray, which unfortunately didn't reveal anything, but also told us to keep an eye on him to make sure he passes the squeaker. By the time we were done with the vet visit, it was way past their normal closing time. Dr. Rana spent a lot of time explaining everything to me, which I greatly appreciate. I will definitely be switching my pet off of Banfield once his Wellness Plan expires. read more

You're welcome!! An update: I went into the office to retrieve the medical records for four dogs that were in their care but have moved out of state. (They've been saying they'll send them via email for the last two weeks.) Two weeks ago one of our four babies had to be put down. We and the pet hospital requested the records several times. After patiently waiting for an hour with a full waiting room, a guy in a white Doctors coat came out. He waited until everyone else was gone and got in my face, without a mask, and started screaming and yelling at me. Johan is not a doctor. He's a coward and bully who gets off doing this to a woman. Guaranteed he wouldn't have done that to a man. After all this he threatened to call the cops on me. I invited him to please do so as he was the one totally out of control. Childish and ignorant behavior. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Go somewhere where you will be respected and treated in a professional ethical manner. Finally got the records. I had visited this vet last year, bc everyone raved about them, when my girl was in need of immediate medical attention and they had an available appt. She had pale gums, a low grade fever, wasn't eating, etc. Dr Rana did some blood work but without seeing the results passed it off as an upset stomach/gi issues and sent us home with antibiotics. I knew that wasn't it, I knew my dog so I rushed her to my vet the next day bc she was getting worse. They did some blood work again and found her wbc low. They recommended an ultrasound but didn't have one on site so they said we can make an appt for Monday or that I can go to Anaheim hills pet clinic. I went to AHPC where they did another run of tests. Came back as an autoimmune disease and my girl need blood transfusions asap. She stayed overnight getting the transfusions; unfortunately, her body didn't accept the treatment so I made the decision to let her go. I feel like Dr Rana rushed us through the visit, didn't take my dogs health seriously, and is unknowledgeable about animal care. I wasn't allowed in due to covid so can't even guarantee if they did anything. It took two days to get the blood results back despite them saying i could get it the following day. Hundreds of dollars paid to him for a misdiagnosis. Go some place else if you really love your pet family! read more

I was recommended by an acquaintance to come here and boy was it a big mistake. I brought my puppy here for her first exam and vaccinations. Three weeks later I came back for her second round of vaccinations and they charged me for an exam fee along with her vaccinations. I asked the girl why was I charged for an exam fee since I was just here three weeks ago for her first exam. She told me if I had come on Tuesday or Saturday for the vaccinations, I wouldn't need to pay for an exam fee. So for my puppy's third round or vaccinations, come on those days. I told her I am new to this office and not one single person brought that to my attention. I said it would be nice for them to tell new patients otherwise they will get a lot of angry and unhappy customers like myself. I ended up paying for the exam fee since I wanted my puppy back but told the lady on the phone I was not very happy on how they handled things here and that today will be my last visit. I told her it's not about the money but more of the principle and how they neglected to tell their patients something that important was quite deceiving. When they brought out my puppy, they gave me my receipt. On the receipt it stated if you are happy with the service, tell your friends and family and if you are unhappy with the service, please contact us so we can make it right. I called the number thinking it was a corporate number only to find out it was the same girl I spoke to on the phone earlier. After talking to her for sometime she finally spoke to the vet and said that he apologized for the misunderstanding and that they will credit me back my exam fee on my next visit. It was like pulling teeth just to get them to acknowledge what they did wrong and took forever to correct it. I wanted to give them another chance since they did credit me back my money so I brought my puppy in for grooming. It took a month just to get her in for a grooming and I specifically told them to make sure they trim my puppy's nails since it was getting long. I should have checked her nails when they gave her back to me because when I got home, I noticed her nails were barely filed and they they didn't even touch her dewclaws. I called in to complain and it took them forever to get anyone to call me back. The groomer and I kept on playing phone tags and eventually I just gave up on this place. I ended up finding a new vet for my puppy and told Orange Hill Veterinary Hospital to fax over my puppy's paperwork. The girl said she will fax it over in ten minutes. Of course the next day when I contacted my new vet they said nothing was faxed over and asked me to give them the name of my previous vet so they can take care of it for me. Within ten minutes I got a call from my new vet saying that everything was taken cared of. It was so refreshing to come to a vet in OC that actually cares about their patients and their pets. The customer service here is just plain awful and I'm so glad I found another vet I can trust and feel comfortable to take my puppy to. read more

Very incompetent vet. I took my dog there because he wasn't eating and had something on the corner of his eye. We did blood tests on a Friday and I was told the vet would call with results. My dog was declining fast so I called on Monday and they told me the results were in but the vet had to call me to review. I was desperate for answers and treatment at this point, my dog was very sick. After no call back, I called again, probably at least a dozen times that Monday, another dozen on Tuesday. Wednesday still no call back. I went ahead and made an appointment with a different vet because I totally lost trust on Dr. Rana. Finally he calls back on Wednesday just before they close and tells me the results of the blood test were fine, there were no serious issues, that's why he didn't call me sooner. I asked for the results to be forwarded to the new vet and when the new vet saw it, there were several serious issues with my dog that Dr. Rana missed. He had pancreatitis, kidney issues, arthritis and the eye thing turned out to be a malicious tumor. My dog ended up passing away two weeks later. We also took him to an emergency vet hospital one weekend and the vet there read the blood test and had the same diagnosis of the second vet. Dr. Rana is completely incompetent and unable to read a simple blood panel. read more

Dr Rana has helped me with several urgent animals that needed immediate assistance and explained each process of what needs to be done. Brought my senior dog in for a first time visit. Dr. Rana gave an honest and straightforward diagnosis and prescribed geriatric medicines. I did not feel upsold as has been my experience with other local Veterinarians and appreciated being advised on things like healthy dietary suggestions for the dog. The front office staff is friendly and "promptly" approves prescriptions from a third party. Good Customer Service goes a long way in retaining a loyal clientele. Why can't I find human doctors as easily as I found a dr for my pet?? Dr. Rana and staff are easy to work with and aren't afraid to tell you like it is. Their facility is clean and well kept, they even decorate for holidays and once had a bird or something in the giant space attached to the window in one of the rooms. Unfortunately, spiders forced them to relocate the bird. They always treat my chihuahua, bruno, very well and even have neat pet books to read in the waiting room. My dog has pretty bad allergies and he chews on his paws like corn on the cob. I visit dr. Rana and staff about once a month and everything from picking up prescriptions to exams are efficient and easy. Considering i just moved here a few months ago and found them on my first try, i consider myself lucky. Now..... if only it were that easy to find a doctor for myself. read more
