I've been to 7 OT studios and this was my worst experience. I hurt my arm and I've been having spasms when I try to row and pain when I do weight lifting on it. So I avoid the row and weight lifting (floor) at OT for the time being. I reserved the bike 2 for row and floor work (as I have at multiple other studios in austin). When it came time for row and floor work I went to the bike as usual but coach Rie refused to let me use it. I explained my arm was hurt and she insisted I get off the bike and told me to go to the floor. She wouldn't listen to me. Weirdest OT experience. If coach Rie does some shenanigans like this to you know there are better OT coaches out there. read more

OTF Tech Ridge is a great studio option. The instructors and staff here are all top notch and I've always felt welcome here while getting a great workout. Everyone's workout journey is different and with my crazy work schedule I ultimately needed a bit more flexibility than a studio model could offer me. I started Orange Theory about a year ago at a different location and just recently switched to this one after moving. In general, I love Orange Theory and have had great results since starting it. At this location everyone has been very friendly, and I continue to feel motivated and enjoy all of my classes. This location is bigger than the one I originally started at which is great. Growing up, I have always been the nerdy kid who loathes exercising and sweating. I am also easily intimidated by the strong, fit people who know what they are doing at the gym. However, I am so glad that I found OTF Tech Ridge and started my fitness journey here. From the first time coming here, I was greeted with the biggest welcome at the front desk. JD walked me through all the heart zone concepts, the base-push-all out terminologies on the treadmill. After the first try-out class, coach Avani and the entire class clapped and cheered for me, which got me so hooked and signed up for more. Every time I come here, everyone in this location was so kind and supportive. Coaches Nikki and Catherine were the absolute best. They corrected my forms on the weight floor and pushed me on the treadmill. In terms of the community, the people in my class are from all walks of life: moms, dads, grandmas, young adults, etc. Everyone was so cheerful and encouraging, and they helped make fitness a truly healthy and joyful experience. I am around 123 lbs and typically burn between 480 - 580 calories per class (using the OTF tracker) and 400 calories (Fitbit tracker). I walked out of these classes feeling strong, energized, and positive. If you consider checking out OTF Tech Ridge, go for it. I would give them no stars if I could. They have been double charging me for months and after I canceled my membership they charged me again. When I finally got ahold of someone at the tech ridge location they said they had nothing in their system saying they charged me. So where is my money??? Offered me no solution. Offered me no information on follow up. This is over $700 I'm talking about!!!!! Tried to say it's an error and I should call my credit card company. Extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Stating "I feel like you think I'm lying"...no sir I want to know where my money is and what you are going to do about it since orange theory is the one charging me....and with that being said the workouts are mediocre at best. I recommend this place, highly. I like how the exercises change everyday, I like how I can feel an afterburn the next day, and I like how I am able to use my cell phone to watch optokinetic videos while on the treadmill to help the blood flow to my brain to help my mental health. Workouts are fine but I have a major issue with this office. I injured my ankle and was unable to exercise so I wanted to cancel or at least freeze my account. They didn't respond to any of my calls nor my voice mails and then when they did, they sent it to the wrong email which resulted in me getting billed for another month. I talked to three different members of orange theory tech ridge and all three gave me different responses. Two told me the refund would go through, and then one of them quit, and then another person told me the refund would be impossible. I've had with this lack of communication and lying and I promise you I won't be back here and I'd recommend y'all go anywhere else for OT read more

I usually don't leave reviews but the business practices at this location is horrible. I ended up having to cancel my membership in March and was told by the front desk that due to their billing cycle I would be charged for April, okay no problem. May comes and I am charged again for a membership that I canceled in person in March. I have been contacting the Tech Ridge staff since May and have been getting the same lie that they will be processing my refund and it is now July and I have yet to receive my money back. I will never go back to OTF and will never recommend to family, friends and co-workers. read more

Apparently if I don't jump to take my review down, Orangetheory is happy to lie and submit a contract from 18 months ago and call it proof that I never canceled a membership. I joined Orangetheory over year ago and then had a traumatic car accident. Despite canceling and sending evidence of my accident, Orange theory continued to charge me for months and failed to return my calls until I left a bad review. Orangetheory is a great workout and absolutely worth the price! I love having an hour that is just mine to focus on myself and my health. It's also really nice to zone out and have someone else give directions for a little while (I'm a teacher, it gets tiring). After six months, I've lost 40 pounds and signed up for my very first 5k! The staff and coaches are amazing. After the Yelp Elite Event at the South Lamar location my fiancé and I really liked our workout so we decided to give this location, which is closer to home, a try! We went in for 1 class then signed up for the 8 classes per month membership. We have been loving it, so much so that we upgraded because they had an amazing deal on the unlimited memberships!! The staff is always super friendly, the coaches are awesome, the facility is always clean, and they have a lot of classes that fit easily into our schedule! Orangetheory is a great workout, the coaches help motivate you and they also give you tips to make things easier or harder depending on your circumstances! They all do a great job of making it less intimidating to step into your first class too. If you have been interested, I definitely would suggest giving it a shot especially because your first class is free! read more

Severe lack of customer service. Purchased 8 sessions pre-COVID. I signed the contract, but it was not brought to my attention that it would convert to a membership. I was unable to use any of my 8 sessions prior to the COVID shutdown. July 1st came and my account was charged $99. Contacted the location to request a refund of the membership fee because it wasn't made clear that this would convert to a membership and I haven't even used my 8 sessions I purchased originally. Was told that they cannot refund. Considering the world-situation at this time, I find this to be extremely poor customer service. Terrible company putting people in this situation when we aren't working and money is scarce. I will never recommend OT to anyone. I feel cheated and lied to when they had the opportunity to make this right. read more

I was looking for a place to work out after a knee injury and after having two kids back-to-back. I explained this to the instructor beforehand. After class starts, she proceeds to call me out as the "only" power walker while everyone else was a runner. After that, she comes over and asks if I "feel like I'm just chilling" or if there was something wrong with my heart rate monitor. I explained (again) that I was trying to ease back into exercising and that I was injured. She then said "you can just be an observer and see everyone else and what you could be!" I was floored. I think she was likely not trying to offend me, but it was tone deaf and inappropriate. My guess is that these employees aren't paid well besides commissions because they are pretty frantic about selling memberships. I've done OT at a different location several years ago and I expected a sales pitch, but I was disappointed by the insensitivity. read more

When i first tried OTF, they had me fill out a form that asked (among other things) how committed i was to achieving fitness goals. I very honestly circled 2/10. I've never been a gym person. I can't even remember why I decided to go in that day. Whatever, now I'm addicted. Rowing, running, weight room. Perfect combo. Intense but also at your own pace, if that makes any sense. I started at the Domain, but found my home at Tech Ridge. Lauren is great. Positive and encouraging and somehow makes me run a little faster. Corbin plays great music and gives really great nutrition advice. Eric is hilarious and doesn't put up with your BS. Chandler pushes me to work for it. I hear Lin is also awesome, I just happened to have never been in his classes. This has completely changed my life. I'm strong and healthy. I lost 20 pounds. I went from a size 12 to a size 2 from October to April. They helped me change my diet. They gave me muscles. I'll never give it up. Try it. read more

Orange Theory offers the best 60 minute workout routine. Before Orange Theory I hadn't been to the gym in about 4 years, but now I find myself looking forward to working out multiple times a week. There's a great mix of weight lifting and cardio to keep you motivated all class. The Tech Ridge location is the reason I continue to go. The owners of this location are very friendly and interested in making sure your experience is exceptional. Coach Eric and Chandler push me to be better and provide great feedback on how to improve. Nichelle and Jessica always provide a warm welcome and smiling faces. The overall experience is undoubtedly heightened due to the owners and staff. read more

Think twice before getting into a contract with them. I was doing unlimited monthly before COVID. Everything closed down and they sent out an email saying you would stay frozen unless you called to unfreeze your account. That was not the case, and I was charged. I submitted a freeze form and it froze my account for a month. Sent an email stating that I did not feel comfortable coming back and would like to freeze my account again. No response and was charged another month. Called and was told there was nothing they could do. So I spent over $300 for somewhere I do not feel comfortable going. Asked if I could cancel and was told I would be charged one more month before I could be cancelled. So when this is all said and done, I will have spent over $500 for nothing and they seem more than OK with this. Im not sure if they forgot there's a pandemic going on or what, but I will never go to another OTF again which is a shame because I really did enjoy it pre-COVID and was looking forward to going back after COVID. read more

There is just so much I can say about OTF Tech Ridge! I wanted to originally join here since it's right across the street from me. But at the time this location was not even close to opening so I joined at another studio! When this location finally opened I decided to come in for a few classes and let me just say I was instantly in love!! I'm a super germaphobic so cleanness is important! This location is super clean and I love that the restrooms have the essentials needed if you forget something. The staff is AWESOME!! I originally felt like oh they won't notice that I'm coming in here since I joined at another location. I was so wrong!! They learned my name and face and made me feel welcomed! I love how the coaches know you and know exactly what your capable of! They push me to do my very best! If you thinking about coming in. Just give them a call and do it!! Every staff member I have encountered for any reason has been extremely helpful and genuinely interested in making my experience great. I can't say enough about their immediate response time for any issue (I had to freeze my account early into my membership due to an injury- unrelated to OTF!) and they made that super easy to do (then un-do as soon as I gave them a call). Every coach I've had has been wonderful. I actually like the late cancel fee- it keeps me accountable. The atmosphere is encouraging and so all-around positive. I have never been able to commit to a gym routine until now. I have always been a little too shy or just didn't like anything enough to stick to it. Just went to my first trial class yesterday and I'm already hooked! Fast-paced, fun workout. Love the springy treadmills, which did not bother my knees at all, and the integration of rowing into cardio. Atmosphere was supportive and the coach (Corbin) was great.
