Instead, I was billed $75 on April 10 (just two weeks after signing up) for an "annual fee" that was never clearly explained to me. At no point during the signup process was it made clear that I would be charged this fee so soon after joining. Now, with another $29.99 coming up on April 27, my first month is totaling over $100, which is completely different from what I was led to believe. This lack of transparency has left a really bad first impression, and honestly making me reconsider keeping my membership at all.

My friend Oksanna had beautiful jewelry, coasters and small tables made from resin. I purchased a vanity, that is super cool and unique. The vanity is made with quality materials and absolutely beautiful. Kudos to the YMCA for allowing their space to be used for the festival. This inKind contribution is commendable. What helped determine the increase in stars was the immediate response to my complaint about what happened on my second visit here. The manager emailed to offer his apology and asked how he could make up for the poor service I encountered from a couple of his staff members. His apology was enough for me, considering I don't live in Austin and was visiting. The manager's concern for the customer goes a long way in my opinion and determination of my reviews. I commend the manager for his attentiveness and concern for his clients. I recommend that he clean his store with a little more elbow grease.

In this locations defense, the manager at this location did reach out eventually and have a conversation with me - they also hired some new staff members for the early morning 5AM shift that are more attentive and can be seen cleaning, however, issues unfortunately remain at this location that warrant a follow up. Having been to at least 10 different PF locations around Austin' and the greater surrounding area I can unequivocally state that this location remains to be the worst that I frequent which is unfortunate considering this Anderson Mill is the one closest in proximity to my 9-5 I'm writing this review so that additional resources can be put into the Anderson Mill location in order to remedy the ONGOING (several months) issues with the showers. This location has gone weeks with multiple showers being out of order due to an ongoing and unresolved leak. This means for those of us that shower after our workout prior to heading into our jobs we either had to wait in a line of people before using facilities (or in my case) have to cut my gym session short 10-15min in order to be the first in the shower to avoid congestion. Fast forward several weeks EVERY shower is now non-functional due to that same leak creating mold This poses an even greater inconvenience as now members have NO ability to shower after their workouts before heading into work. Not sure what can be done to address this but it's made working out at this location extremely cumbersome - the signs posted to the now closed off showers clearly state "BEING REMEDIED FOR MOLD". My presumption based on this locations history is that this leak and mold issue will likely NOT be fixed expeditiously - not being able to shower prior to my work shift after sweating is not ideal. I am now having to look at Golds Gym within the same proximity so that I can continue my morning workout schedule as I require shower facilities after working out prior to heading into work - a major inconvenience considering I've been a member of PF for over a decade at this point with this gym being my primary. Not stoked about having to carry/pay for 2 gym memberships nor am I even sure Gold's Gym offers a month to month option with no contract; at this point, however, I am not sure I have any other option in the interim. The amenities are decent and they have a nice range of machines and weights, but there are no saunas or steam rooms to enjoy and decompress. Rumors say they might convert an area to have such services. The second floor is pretty dedicated to their studios and cardio as the main floor has machines, weights, and dumbbells. You can bring your work bag here and do some work before or after a session knowing they have a full cafe available with coffee and cold brew! I'm enjoying my time at this location since they have a four lane outdoor lap pool, but if you don't mind a drive check out the other location a bit more up 183 and see which location is best for you.

Some aspects of the program also didn't match how they were presented during sign-up (things like guidance around goals, communication, and support outside of sessions). I do want to say that my trainer herself was kind and genuinely good during the sessions I had with her. I don't think the issue is the individual trainers as much as the structure of the program. That said, I did run into a couple of scheduling issues where I showed up for confirmed appointments that had been reassigned, and communication overall was inconsistent. I also would have appreciated more proactive follow-up--I needed to cancel my last session in December, life has been crazy, it's now Mid April and I never heard from anyone again--though I acknowledge I could have reached out as well. *****The biggest issue, however, has been the cancellation process.***** The contract requires written notice through a specific support email, and in practice, that process has been slow and difficult to navigate. It took multiple attempts to get clear direction, and communication was limited to being routed back to the same support channel without meaningful follow-through. Based on my experience and similar complaints from other customers, this appears to be a pattern. This creates a situation where it's easy to sign up, but MUCH harder than expected to cancel. I would strongly encourage anyone considering signing up to carefully review the cancellation terms and be prepared for a potentially frustrating process if you decide to end the program.

If a machine is being repaired, there's usually a second machine to use. It's not as clean as other gyms but that is not solely the gym's responsibility. The cleaning stations commonly need to be replenished but there's also nearly cleaning stations you can resort to. Plus you get extra steps, win? At times it may be too hot but I see the benefit of a heated gym- it's not always optimal during the summer. For the convenience and practicality of a gym, it meets the standards. Nothing fancy but nothing lacking. They could use a better range of fitness classes. The only classic ever see is Zumba and cycling. You can't beat the amenities for the price!

I was able to secure a $30 per month membership since I signed a contract for 12 months, and that grants me access to any location that is the same or lower tier. I have been to cycling classes with Megan Smith and yoga classes with Kayur Patel. Both instructors are so friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. All the staff members that work out at the front desk are so friendly, the always greet me and say goodbye. I was surprised to see so many lifting platforms and different machines I have never seen before. The only complaints that I have is that since this is an older gym, many of equipment is dinged up, but still operable. Also, instead of a posing room, I wished they used the space for a more functional amenity, like a hydromassage bed or a red-light therapy bed. If you are looking for an affordable gym where you can get a great cardio and/or strength training work out, this establishment is a great option since they have a vast variety of machines and equipment.
