Been going here since 2020. We've always good interactions. The reception counter has been staffed by polite & helpful staff. Every interaction with clinical staff has been informative and exams with Dr Carlisle has been professional. He explains every step of the exam and takes time to answer questions. They generally come from comparing the previous years exam to the current one. We price shop our glasses and sometimes they are less expensive elsewhere. But they work with our insurance so it helps keep the cost down. We have enjoyed the services here and don't see us going elsewhere any time soon read more

Dr Jarrell and Dr Carlisle are great, been seeing them for almost 15 years. However their phone system and staff are the worst ever. They never answer and if the eventuality call you back they are very very rude. I would recommend them to my worst enemy read more

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this office. Despite booking appointments for my two children over a month in advance and adjusting my work and personal schedule accordingly, I received no confirmation calls or emails. This lack of communication was unexpected and caused significant inconvenience. On the day of the appointment, I repeatedly called the office but was unable to reach anyone. When we arrived at our scheduled time with Dr. Sean Carlile we were informed that we were not scheduled. A confirmation of the new patient appointment is needed to "guarantee" that you are truly on the schedule. I also sent an email as suggested by their phone voicemail message, with no response back. I explained the situation, including the significant adjustments I had made to my schedule, but was met with a dismissive response. The office's policy of requiring email confirmation for new patients seems unreasonable, especially given the reliance on technology for communication. It is disheartening that no effort was made to accommodate our situation or rectify the issue. I will be seeking services elsewhere due to this unacceptable experience and the lack of empathy displayed by the office staff. read more

My family has been coming to Orbit for over a decade! The staff is kind, thoughtful, funny and always accommodating. I am almost afraid to post how much we love them for fear of them getting over booked!!! Truly, you cannot go wrong with this lovely little place. I came across Orbit Eyecare while trying to find an Optometrist within our insurance network (VSP) - the location was convenient for us, so we gave it a go. It was a good experience, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The exam was thorough, and although I hadn't been an optometrist in about a decade, I brought in my old glasses, and they used their equipment to see what the prescription was at the time. Then, as we proceeded with the exam, they allowed me to compare no prescription, the old prescription, and the current prescription side by side. I chose to keep my old frames, so was able to pay just my normal co-pay for the exam and the co-pay for the lenses to have the new set up prepared. My 7 year old son was handled well, and picked out a frame to his liking. It took a little longer than I would have liked for my sons lenses to arrive, in fact, they told me my frames would take longer to prepare, and mine came in before his, but all in all the product was received in tact and in good condition. It does baffle me how expensive frames can be... luckily, our insurance gave us $130 towards our frame of choice, but the glasses generally START in that price range and go up from there...so, there ya have it, kind of makes ya wonder...but then again, it has been a decade since I've been in the market for specs, so perhaps I'm simply out of touch. Sometimes you go through life and everything's flowers and unicorns. Other times you run into a mud pit. I had a good experience with the examination and receiving my trial pair of lenses. I made an appointment to follow up with the doctor and tried to cancel the day of the appointment. I was not sure if my allergies were interfering with the wearing of the lenses. So I wanted an additional week to see if there really is a problem. Instead of allowing me to cancel they wanted to charge me 50 dollars because I was inside the 48 hour cancellation policy. Well I made the appointment 48 hours ago and no one told me that I would b forced to come I'm or pay $50 all I wanted was a week more. It if they want to tie up the doctors time then I'll do it. Quite frankly I don't know how this place stays in business. In the last 3 months, I have left voice messages and emails at this particular office with absolutely no response. I once resorted to going to their office to get my answers only to find their office staff laughing, chatting, and having a grand time while letting the phone ring until the caller hung up. In June I had waited three weeks for my sample lenses which were only supposed to take 5-7 days to get. Their excuse was that it was in the back of the shelf and they didn't see it. I guess they were too busy socializing. As of today, I am once again waiting to get a response to a voice message and an email left two days ago. My advice is to avoid this place. There are many other optical places to go in Albuquerque that would welcome your business. read more

My husband and I went there for the first time to get new prescriptions and eyeglasses. Of course we go during Covid but we found all the proper precautions in place and it was very clean and sanitary. The doctor and all the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Paperwork can be done electronically in advance, so at the time you arrive to the Dr's office, you just go to your appointment. Staff members are very friendly, better than most doctors office I'v visted. The best part of it, they've gone away with that eye machine that blows air in your eyes and use drops instead. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews.... but this experience warrants one without hesitation. Went in for glasses and contacts exam. I've had a long standing love/hate relationship with contacts because my eyes get really dry and I have keratoconus in one eye. I explained that I would like to try to give contacts another try and Dr. Jarrell assured me he could get things figured out. Finish up my exam and go to choose my glasses and get trial pair of contacts. Here is where the trouble began....and never ended. They could not get my insurance figured out and kept insisting the information I was giving was wrong. Left after over an hour (just to choose glasses) with no resolution about payment. The next day I put on my trial pair of contacts and my eyes were burning so bad that midway through my drive I had to pull over and take them out. I immediately called and let them know and they asssured me Dr. Jarrell would call. Never received a call. Made a second appointment to try a new pair of contacts and my husband went with me to the visit. Dr. Jarrell, literally, never once looked at me. He spent his time writing in my chart and looking at the computer but never looked at me....I'm not talking about an exam (which I also didn't get) - I'm talking about mere eye-contact. He seemed upset that I was reporting the contacts didn't work. He walked out of the room after about 5 minutes and I wasn't even sure if he was done with my visit until one of the front desk people came to get me. I was told that they would order my new contacts and they would arrive in a little over a month because they were "special order" -- forget that!! Went to Sams Club the next day and got the same pair of "special" contacts on the spot! No special order needed. Found out a while later that they billed my insurance for the contacts - even though I didn't get any contacts through them. I called numerous times before I could get someone to call me back and agree to take a look at this situation. Ended up calling the insurance and telling them what had occurred. A few weeks later my glasses come in - I run on to pick them up, try them on, and one eye is totally blurry. After they checked them they realized he prescription in my right eye lens was way off. So..... they would have to reorder them. Thankfully this was the end of our relationship. Will I ever go back - NO WAY!!! Terrible customer service, terrible care and long time waits for products. This company filed a fraudulent claim for contacts (which I never asked for, ordered or received) with my eye insurance company when I had my exam here. When I went to get a reimbursement for ones I purchased from Walgreens, was told Cottonwood Vision had already used up that $$. I wonder how many other fraudulent insurance claims they've filed? read more

I was visiting family and left my contacts back in Portland, OR. I'd been wearing the same daily lens for 5 straight days. The two women working were very understanding and gave me a small supply of sample lens to last the rest of my trip. I can't say how amazing it was to get a little help from two strangers. You guys are great! Thank you. Avoid the competition across the street. Stanton I believe is the name. The office staff and doctors are very nice and professional. However, whatever lab they use for lenses is terrible! When I got my glasses (after 10 days) there was a hairline scratch in the right lens. They offered to replace them, fast forward another 10 days. I bring my glasses in to have the lenses replaced and get them back the next day. They replaced both lenses, but now the Rx in my left lens is totally off!!! They offered to replace again and upgrade the anti-glare coat, leaving me without my new glasses again! Good thing I have a spare pair (not from here). I will see them for eye exams, but I will never get glasses from here again! read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! Went in on a Saturday and there was not any other patients in the office and the front desk girls just kept talking about going home and made me wait till one of them helped me 10 minutes later! You will not receive any refund of your money even if they do not provide you the product you paid for. I had gone in for an eye exam and I was curious about colored contact lenses. These were going to be non prescription and just for fun. The made me pre-pay $100.00 for these and the day of my exam tried to have me practice putting them in WITH MY EYES DILATED!! How STUPID is that!!! Then I went in later and they had told me they were going to order a dark green pair. They did not,and as I was attempting to learn to put them in it just was not working out. I did not take the contacts and they did not order all of the necessary equipment that goes with them. I asked for my $100.00 product refund charge since I was not buying these and they would not even think about refunding. They already had my money and even though I did not take the product they still charged me! The front staff is so insincere and cold. I have never been to a business that takes your money even if you do not take possession of the product. I guess I should of read the other reviews on other sites before I went to Cottonwood Vision Care. Never again and when I told the front staff this they did not care at all.
