Kenny, "The owner" response to Maggie G's review is false. She went in and saw a bike for sale…read morethat she was potentially interested in purchasing and sat on it only to get talked down to and yelled at. Nothing was broken, no bike was rolled away with, Kenny just needs to take a class or read a book or two on customer service. Shortly before she came in I was in the store looking to rent a bike. I came in with the intention of renting at 2:30 on a Tuesday and returning 10:00 am on Thursday around 44 hours. So I asked if he could give me a potential discount and he basically laughed in my face and said no, we only do calendar day rentals. So $72 a day, which is ridiculous because the other local bike store rentals for $45 a day for a similar bike. For 3 days, there is a 3 day discount of $24 off equalling $192, still ridiculous for 44 hours. They did have ten or so identical bikes outside so Kenny must be a trust fund baby or something just leaving business out there. Neither of us got a welcoming experience or any type of feeling of hospitality or simply want to have us in the store. I recommend Lopez kayaks and bicycle works just down the road, completely different experience. The only reason we didn't is they weren't open for the season yet. Id rather walk the island than rent from Village Cycles.

A less scrupulous place might have just replaced it. I also appreciate that they give you options, like this might be an issue for you in the future, but I think you are okay on it for a while. Bikes running great, didn't break the bank, and the staff were lovely. What else do you need?

Let me tell you a story about how Seth saved me from a dumb dad move and thereby saved my weekend -…read more Busy weekend out on the island with the fam, lots of hustle and bustle - in the midst of a couple days where it feels like nothing is going quite right on the family front. Looking to turn things around, I decide to install the kid seat on the back of my wife's bike for our 2 y.o. so we can do the ol' family bike ride (that'll fix it!). In a moment of overzealousness though, I give that over-tight, cheap screw in the back of her bike a turn-too-many with the allen wrench: it's stripped, but maybe salvageable. But what do I do? I think, "I can still get it...." So I jump back in there: cheap screw vs. cheap allen wrench, and I send that screw straight to The Land of No Return. It's never coming out now. Enter Seth and Meat Machine. Now, mind you, I had already been down there the day before - or my wife had - for another bike-related issue (I told you - it was that kind of weekend). So, I limp in there, figuratively speaking, and in my shame I present El Strippo to Seth. What does he do? He doesn't make my feel bad. He doesn't hesitate. Immediately, almost un-questioningly, he throws that bad boy up on the lift. He explains that this is not going to be easy and expresses concern that he'll break the head off the screw and then it's done (the seat is never going on in that case). He tries one expensive hex after another. No dice. Last resort: he busts out the blow torch. "Let's put a little heat on it." And he does, and, like magic, that baby starts to move! With the turning of the screw, hearts lift, hope returns - the screw it out. The day - the family bike ride - is saved. No charge. I headed outside and, literally, the clouds cleared (though I'm not sure I credit Seth with that one). But he and Meat Machine did save the day, no doubt. Great little shop. Friendly helpful guys. Very grateful to them! Thank you!!

This shop had all our EBikes ready and waiting with names on them. We quickly signed our paperwork and were off. Some of our group could have used more gear instructions vs when the power would kick in- say up a hill what gear to be in but- through some laughs they figured it out but thanks again- beautiful sunny summer day and they were great

quick to sell slow to repairBike shop for the Rich and wealthy with a bad attitude to match…read more After bringing my Bike in For simple break and tube was told it will be a week. The next week I went in. The guy fixing my bike was also selling the high priced bikes. My bike was due to be finished and waited 30 minutes While the kid ran back and forth . Poor service I had to take my bike back because the brakes did not work after being fixed. I dreaded the brow beating but needed my bike fixed. No apologies only Tim's snarky remarks. After telling the young guy I will wait. Tim spoke up "We cannot always fix it on the spot" was uncalled for after I had brought my bike back from last weeks repair job. Meanwhile other customers were bringing tires to the front desk Adjusting there cleats ext. Again 30 minute wait while sales are juggled. Had Bought a new tube Because of BlackBerry thorns And had the brakes fixed. Got home the brakes are still not fixed.

The owner, Brandon, was so welcoming and made sure we were comfortable with the bikes and knew exactly where to go before we headed out. We had such a great time exploring the Olympic Discovery Trail! We went with the three hour option and that was the perfect amount of time for us. We can't recommend this enough and would definitely do it again!

Absolutely the Best Way to Explore Port Angeles - Discovery E-Bikes is a Must!…read more My wife and I spent an unforgettable mid-day riding e-bikes from Discovery E-Bikes, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Port Angeles. We did a four-hour "river to river" ride--heading east, then west, making scenic stops along the way before heading back into town. The route was stunning and peaceful, and the e-bikes made the whole experience effortless and fun. The bikes themselves were top-quality--smooth, comfortable, and clearly very well maintained. But what really made the experience exceptional was the customer service. Brandon, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He shared the personal story behind his business, which made a big impression on us. His passion, care, and attention to detail truly stood out, and it inspired us to want to return in the future just to support his amazing local shop. If you're in Port Angeles and looking for a fun, meaningful way to see the area, Discovery E-Bikes is it. We can't recommend this place enough--thank you, Brandon!
