I had a disappointing experience with customer service at Fanatik Bike, specifically with a representative named Sam. I recently purchased a helmet and thought I had already signed up for the welcome discount code. After I completed my order and looked at my receipt, I realized the discount hadn't been applied. My first thought was, "Oh shoot, I forgot to enter the code." That also made me wonder whether I had actually completed the sign-up, so I immediately signed up for the welcome offer. I looked for an option to cancel and reorder my purchase, but there wasn't one available. Since I acted right away, I reached out through the chat to see if the discount could be applied or if there was another solution. Sam responded by email and simply stated that the discount couldn't be applied retroactively. While I understand that companies have policies, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility or effort to help. I wasn't trying to misuse the promotion--I made an honest mistake and contacted customer service almost immediately after placing my order. We rolled into town late in the evening and were looking for MTB rentals the very next day. The guys were super cool and friendly, they hooked us up and made us feel like we belonged. The Ripley V5s they gave us were so much fun! Galby is such a great place to ride MTB and Bellingham feels like an all-week destination. Parts and clothing selection is on point, but to mirror what others have said the customer service is hit or miss but mostly miss. I keep hearing again and again about the quality of service at Fanatik Bike Co, and I have a couple of bikes that needed repair so I brought them both to Fanatik Bike to have them looked at. The mechanic knew exactly what was wrong with both bikes and fixed them both, took the time to explain what was wrong, and took care of a couple of other little minor things as well that I hadn't noticed. Fanatik Bike just earned a new customer, and I do a lot of biking, so I'm looking forward to doing much more business with this awesome locally owned business real soon. read more

Not sure why I have such bad luck with these guys. Every time I go in to spend money I get a guy that is rude and/or really wants to talk down to me. Ironically when I went in just to browse (pre covid) I met super friendly staff that are full of knowledge and I thought maybe I was too quick to judge. I'll give them points for having great stock, and today I bit my tongue, still bought some super spendy parts, said my thanks, but I won't be going back. I live in CA and they both were super responsive getting me the bike and parts that I wanted. Joe hit me up about a small pinhole chip on the frame of the bike before shipping. I appreciated this because it showed that they are honest and not just looking to sell bikes. We came to a resolution as it was a minor imperfection and not their fault at all. Rich followed up with me a few days after delivery to check-in and make sure I had everything I needed. I had reached out to Joe a few weeks later to ask about an aftermarket part that might fit this setup. He said he would look around for me. Hah. This place is a joke. Not the first time this has happened but, I went in for a flat. They didnt have my size. The mechanic said he was going to patch it but the method was "embarrassing", while not showing me what he was doing to my tube. And, he couldn't find the hole in my tire even after we pointed it out. Fine. It was hard to see. Whatever. Regardless, when doing this, he didnt tell me there was a fee for anything. A lot of shops will take a look and do mindless work for free. Especially if you're buying gear from them. Not anything bank-breaking, but afterwards I was charged. And without telling me before hand, so I kind of didn't agree to it. This should be illegal. Any time you offer a service, you should get confirmation of the price, just as a car mechanic would do before fixing your car. The dude was really nice to me until my boyfriend walked up, then his attitude changed, and he was a dick. I could have just gone elsewhere for a tube a replaced it myself for less money. the "patch" job he did, didn't last me 25 miles. 0/10, would not go again. They're pretentious there. I'll say the female cashier was super nice and helpful, not at all rude. Like chill out guys, they're bikes. I love riding, its fun, but hot damn if I act like I'm a better person than anyone else because I know more about said bikes. I'm not taking this review down, either. Dont both asking, Fanatik. Have your staff do better and TELL PEPOLE what you charge BEFORE you do any work. read more

I can say that One day I walked into Fanatik. Told the nice man I was looking for a 29er storm and he took me right to it. (Ok the staff is BAD ASS and know what your talking about ) Pulled it down, rode it bought it. "ROAD TEST" my 14 mile on road off road test 3 days later: it preformed flawless no bells no whistles just raw pedal power and no weird clicks, creaks, cracks or snap noises while pedaled in any terrain ( I'm particular about clunky noises) and this bike is whisper quite. it's total precision for a screaming deal (bike was on sale) it's geared perfect for nasty two mile uphill and it is awesome for screaming downhill on the other side. It's light Weight, super tame to operate. (Once I adjust the seat distance to bars) it is perfect for my body. I love this bike only after a week of owning it. Thank you Fanatik for putting out a top notch product. Thanks Fanatik staff 3rd visit review as of 6/5/20 so I've been to Fanatik 3 times now, once for the first time service and twice for products and upgrades.... I absolutely love the products they sell. I am very happy with their service and their service department as well. So In all 3 visits My reviews are of nothing but a great experience each time with this business and I leave there knowing my Norco Storm Bike is gonna bring me many awesome miles of Adventure and happiness. I have been thoroughly impressed with Fanatik Bike Co for years. Their website is amazing and their custom bike builder is a super fun activity when I want to fantasize about a new bike. But I ordered a fall line dropper post from them and since the post is failing to sustain air pressure, they are going to service it and send it back to me. This is amazing and I am truly appreciative for it Update 6-17-19 I have placed many more orders and Fanatik is simply one of the best experiences I have had with online retail. Poor customer service, smug, aloof, couldn't care less that you're there. Unprofessional, arrogant and unhelpful on the phone, never called when they said they would. Avoid Zach and Russell when there if you want help. If you're a gear head, know your stuff and just want a shop to order your gear, than sure, this place could be good. It's basically a toy shop for a bunch of 20-something "dudes" who work there. If you're a hard-core mountain biker looking to drop a few thousand on a bike, you'll love this place. I went in here to do a tune up on my bike since its been a while since I took it out. My niece wanted to use it for a ride coming up soon. When I took it in they were backlogged a little bit and could not to a full service. However when I explained I just wanted to make sure it was safe for my niece they checked all of the components and said it was good to go. This is great customer and joy of riding service. I needed some emergency bike repair today. My tire on my trike suddenly went flat and it's difficult to push. I went to another bike shop in that area and they couldn't help me. Feeling nervous I pushed my trike to Fanatik where I was greeted with a smile and assurance they could fix me right up. Will, who replaced my tube and inspected for signs of what may have happened was very nice, efficient and speedy! It was my first time in that bike shop. I liked it a lot! I bought a bike here (a Norco Sight), and I am extremely happy with this shop. First of all, their customer service is amazing. I called at least five times to discuss various bikes before deciding what to buy, and each time the person I talked to was friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to talk to, very helpful, friendly, never in a rush. I had an idea of what I wanted before calling, but they helped me consider all the options and stay within my budget. Their prices are very reasonable too, for bikes, clothing, components, tools, etc. Finally, this a great place to stop in for trail recommendations if you're riding around Bellingham. I'm not sure if there's a bad trail in Bellingham in the first place, but their recommendations were perfect for me! read more

Almost every time I'm in shopping for bikes, parts, or apparel I've had poor service or no service at all. I think if you have a top-of-the line downhill bike they might care more about helping out but as an average guy with a moderately nice road bike any questions or help I ask for is quickly dismissed.They have a really expansive inventory of nice bikes and a couple of times I've had good service but that's really all I can give them. There are too many bike shops in this town to survive as an impersonal, mediocre one. read more

I'm very disappointed with a recent experience with Fanatik Bike Company. I made a deal with them to purchase a new bike with a 15% club discount which had been approved by two staff members and a manager. They took a $3,000.00 deposit and told me my bike would be ready for pick up at the end of the month. Several days later they phoned to tell me they could not honor the deal as the discount does not apply to "custom builds" and furthermore they refused to offer any sort of discount on the custom build in attempt to resolve their error. Instead they offered to sell me a "kit" bike with very different specs. Sorry guys, that is not at all the bike I want and that doesn't cut it. We had a deal and the moment they took a deposit you agreed to that deal. Had I backed out of the deal I would have lost my $3,000.00 but when they back out all I get is "Oh, sorry, we made a mistake!" Very poor business etiquette. Needless to say I purchased a bike elsewhere from a company with much better customer service. I will never return to Fanatik and I will continue to spread the word about their shady business practices. read more

Awesome bike shop!! I wanted to have my fork installed and dropped off my bike and the fork just before lunch. I went out for a bite to eat and the mechanic texted me just when I was finishing lunch. It was done in less than an hour. I got to go for a ride in the afternoon and I was very happy. Everyone at the shop was super friendly. Not all bike shops are like that. I rented a bike through Stu last weekend to go ride for the day. Stu called me ahead of time to let me know that the Mojo I had reserved had been broken a couple days before, so they'd have to switch me to another bike. Without me even asking, they suggested a good sub for my riding style and more than made up for the confusion with the rental price. The store is clean, organized and way better stocked than almost all of my local shops. Customer service was top notch and I'll be recommending Fanatik every chance I get even though I may not be local. Really one of my best bike shop experiences. read more
