The fried rice didn't add much either.. I could barely tell that it was supposed to be fried rice. The shrimp in the combo lo mein was good. Their food has always been perfect and we never have any issues. They seemed to of changed their menu a bit - added a lot more. I recommend the Avocado Cheese Wontons!!! Really good! I would highly recommend Orchid Asian Bistro. I had the Thai Curry Lime Beef, and it was outstanding. The meat was very fresh, and not plastic or rubbery like some places have. Tons of fresh cut up bell peppers and onions. This dish was packed with flavor, and a little spice. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Clean comfortable atmosphere. Against my better judgment I called an order in to be picked up for my daughter. I know that down the street at wild Ginger is 1000 times better. I've actually seen this kitchen and I should've ran in the first place. The woman on the phone was so rude I also wanted a beef salad. I asked for it medium spicy and she said it only comes in one size. I said I know that it only comes in one size. She said it's a salad with vegetables no spicy. When I arrived to pick up my daughters order I asked to see a menu and the kind gentleman handed me one. I asked him if the beef salad on the menu could be spicy? He said yeah no problem. Our family is vegetarian. Including the kids. Not one vegetarian option on the menu for the kids - all chicken. And breaded, fatty chicken at that. Children's tastes and preferences for healthy food are formed as children which is one reason why it's important to get them started off right, eating vegetables. I ordered the tofu in peanut sauce but asked if they would please make it 1/2 tofu and 1/2 vegetables. They did manage to do that with the exception of adding in 3 large pieces of breaded chicken in my vegetarian meal. I noticed that another Yelp-poster got chicken in her vegetarian meal as well so I can't help but wonder if the cook is inept or just enjoying playing a joke on their vegetarian customers by putting meat in their meals. Either way this is happening to a number of us. I also ordered brown rice with my meal which they charged extra money for. Interestingly, the steamed rice, that came with another meal in our group, was packaged in the typical square cardboard rice container for one meal. The brown rice came in a small plastic container that contained about half of the amount that the steamed rice container contained. I was charged extra fee for less amount of food as a similar meal. What gives with that? As others have noted in their reviews, the egg rolls were tiny rolled up skins with almost no filling. It was like eating fried dry cardboard-ish dough. Also, . . if you are vegetarian, . . .there are almost no vegetarian options for you. For example, ALL of the curries are chicken or beef with no tofu or vegetable option. As someone already mentioned, it's sloppy Asian food and if that's what you want to spend your money on, I guess that's anyone's choice. But I always wonder why a restaurant chooses to take the low road. read more

I was supposed to go to Wild Ginger to grab dinner for my mom and i, who had just had surgery on her foot: but they were closed, so i settled for this hole in the wall. From the second I walked into the empty restaurant, the lady working the counter was giving me dirty looks. She awkwardly watched me as I browsed the menu. During the ordering process, I was constantly cut off by her response, but shrugged it off, asked for the bathroom key. It's some ghetto little closet outside, and on the back of the building. Once I came back inside, the food was almost done, but i could smell shrimp. My order was chicken, for my mom, and tofu, for me. She made my pad Thai with shrimp, and i explained that im vegetarian, and wouldn't eat it no matter what. She rolled her eyes and asked me if I was sure I wanted it with tofu, and then stomped to the back to bark at the chef. After I left and thought I was going to just forget about it, I opened the bag. Both of the lids to our dinners were melted from the stove and leaked all over everything. Not only did they give us old and dried out egg rolls, THEY LEFT CHICKEN AND SHRIMP CHUNKS IN MY VEGETARIAN DINNER. Ordered Pho delivery and spring rolls and was able to order online. I requested pork and shrimp spring rolls and they called after I placed my order to let me know that pork was not available. I appreciated the advance notice and the call. The delivery took about an hour and the delivery girl was very friendly when she arrived. The pho was hot and fresh and the broth was flavorful and not sweet like some other pho places. I wouldn't recommend the spring rolls though but their peanut dipping sauce was yummy and was a little spicy too which I liked. For those times that we are really craving pho and would rather stay in I would order from Orchid again but have my other "go to" places should we be eating in the restaurant. Love, love, LOVE this place! We've eaten here twice. Once was delivery. It came very fast and food was hot and delicious. Second time we ate at the restaurant. The new paint has really brightened it up. Staff was super friendly. We have tried the fried rice = excellent drunken noodles = amazing hot and sour soup = best ever wanton soup = yummy panang curry = tasty Egg role = good cheese wantons = crispy goodness sesame chicken = omg SO awesome! The breading isn't soggy or overcooked and the chicken isn't greasy or dried out. I would HIGHLY recommend this place and I hope that they stick around a long time :) Making the entree "happy" is totally worth it IMO; $2 and change for 2 cheese wantons, 1 egg roll, and soup with your entree. read more

I thought I would try again since there under new management . I ordered the sizzling rice soup which was outstanding. Hot flavorful chock-full of beef chicken shrimp broccoli it's all good. But make note don't order something fried. I also got an order of shrimp tempura which is more expensive than the soup and it's bad. The shrimp looks like it's been cooked a couple times the vegetables have a huge amount of batter. It came with a very tiny egg roll , but it was tasty. I was spectacularly unimpressed by the food here. For starters the 'avocado cheese wontons" are a gross misnomer as they have crab in them as well! thanks for the inedible unappetizer. The rice was dry and hard, not fluffy and steam cooked. The sesame tofu was lacking sesame seeds and flavor, the sauce has a good sticky texture but no heat or spice. I'm new to the area and on the hunt for some GOOD Chinese and boy howdy, I found it! I went with a safe option, orange chicken, with steamed white rice, and it is DELICIOUS! There's so many places that make their food greasy and heavy, but the way they cook their food is so light and fresh tasting. Absolutely over- priced for what you get. Service was terrible; they were rude and the atmosphere was downright depressing. The tables all had discouraging notes plastered on them that said "tables for dine-in only" and a bunch of other garbage. If you walk in expecting to be treated like a human being, you'll be severely disappointed to see that you have to wait OUTSIDE for your food (even if the lobby is empty). What a petty way to treat customers. Some of our family were OK with the food, but there was no value; the portions are tiny. We ordered EGG fried rice. EGG. FRIED. RICE. What we got was bland, crushed, mashed rice with NO flavor. Well, it's hard to have any flavor when key ingredients are MISSING. You can't have EGG fried rice without the EGG. Anyone can make rice with grease in it. The whole reason we went there was so that WE wouldn't have to make it. They had such a problem preparing out food, yet no problem charging us full-price for half-made food. When our order was "ready," nobody said a thing. It was as if we didn't exist. It sat there while the wench behind the counter acted like she was busy. Sorry, but we're human beings, and we refuse to be treated like this again. Never going there, again. Ever. Can't trust them to treat customers well, so I will not be returning even to tell them they scammed us. This place can keep cutting corners until they have no customers left. Really wanted Thai and something different than the Thai restaurant up the street. Ordered 'Thai Hot & Sour Soup' (tom yum). Though as a soup, it was decent, the flavor didn't even come close to Tom Yum soup. Tasted more like a vegetable soup. Would never order again. Should have known better when I asked regarding spiciness--they said they only have 'normal', mild and spicy. Certainly not the typical range of Thai seasonings. Then went onto Pad Thai--it was decent--good amount, hot, included chicken and shrimp and was reasonably priced. The wait person, though not rude, was not very friendly. There were few people there, so not sure what the issue was. The place is small and looks clean and well kept up. Though I was not impressed with their Thai cooking, I would go back to try other Asian foods--perhaps they might be better. Otherwise, for Thai, I'll go elsewhere. read more
