Amazing experience as always and honestly a huge upgrade from where they were a few years ago. We noticed the quality dipped during COVID, which I'm assuming was due to supply issues, but they've completely turned it around. The tuna was unbelievably fresh and they give you massive cuts compared to most all you can eat sushi places. Everything we ordered came out fresh and tasted great. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. If you're coming here, I'd recommend fasting all day because you'll definitely want to take full advantage of the all you can eat menu. This is easily one of my favorite sushi spots again.

Best AYCE sushi in town. Best service, amazing staff and really good food. This has been my go to place for years.

My friends and I visited this restaurant to enjoy a meal. We love sushi and have tried various all-you-can-eat Sushi restaurants in the area. Orchid is our favorite place. It's always fresh with great service, the boat is a cool touch to the table, and there are so many options to select from. It's a pretty dimly lit spot but still worth enjoying with friends. We agreed that the sashimi is some of the best we've had in the area and our favorite thing to do is to finish off the meal with the various flavors of ice cream. Be aware they don't like you to waste food, so anything you don't eat, you will need to pay for, which I can absolutely appreciate!

Loved the clean, neat interior, quick service, and 50% off sushi rolls. Did not love that the sushi entree I ordered came with just 2 of the same 4 kinds of fish. Most places at least have eel but maybe my fault for assuming and not asking what kind of fish were included (menu did not specify). A few of my family members ordered specialty rolls, and I was surprised that each piece of the 5-piece rolls was the same size as a piece of the 8-piece rolls ; usually the rolls that come with less pieces are bigger? but that wasn't the case here which was kind of disappointing. This wasn't a bad meal by any means, just not the best.

AYCE Sushi came out on a boat for our first order!

We had the AYCE. The sushi was decent, but not the best. The first time we ordered rolls they came out on a sushi boat which was fun! The service was nice and I liked the light system they use. The staff was quick and attentive when we placed the light on. However, the food was a bit slow to come out. The ambiance is average, nothing majorly decorative and the place look a bit old/outdated. While the AYCE was not bad, it wasn't mind-blowing either. My husband and I agree that the quality of the sushi and our overall experience was not worth the price.

The tiger roll is my favorite!

My favorite sushi restaurant in Raleigh! I go at least once a month and cannot resist the all you can eat! Staff is SO quick with serving the food. Plenty of roll options and everything is so fresh. Love the relaxing atmosphere with dim lighting.

Came for the AYCE sushi & it did NOT disappoint. Fresh fish, crispy coconut shrimp & yummy dessert! I did not get photos of the miso soup and edemame, but both were also delicious! The soup was amazing for the chilly day. Service was top-tier: they came by the table often and cleared our table of the used plates almost instantly. They answered questions and even brought our beer and poured it into the chilled glass for us. FYI - 18% gratuity is included in your total! (It's 20% for parties of 10 or more people) 10/10 - DEF RECOMMEND

My favorite ayce sushi place in Raleigh. The price of ayce is 31$ i think. But the service is really good here. The wait staff is prompt and kind. I like that they have a light system to show when you are ready to order. I always come back to this restaurant and leave full and satisfied!

Five stars, no hesitation…read more I heard about Sono Sushi through Resy and finally made it in. It's located in downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street, right next to the ABC 11 studios, easy to find and a great spot if you're already downtown. The ambiance is great and fits the food well. There's a nice mix of seating, tables along the windows looking out onto the street, high top tables, traditional dining tables, and a sushi bar if you want to sit up close and watch everything being made. It feels lively without being loud, and works well whether you're there for a date night or a more casual meal. We started with the Aburi appetizer, torched salmon belly, ooba, salmon roe, Japanese seabream, yuzu kosho, and ponzu, and it was outstanding. Everything worked together perfectly, rich, bright, and balanced. I also ordered ikura and ebi, even though I meant to order ama ebi, but no regrets there. Still excellent. We shared the Poke Roll with wakame, avocado, cucumber, mango, tuna, salmon, hamachi, and Sono poke sauce, and it was very good, fresh, flavorful, and well composed without being overdone. My wife ordered the spicy miso ramen and loved it. The broth was the star, deep and comforting, and the pork chashu pieces were massive, in a good way. I went with the chicken katsu curry, panko fried chicken thigh with house curry and koshihikari rice, something I haven't had since Little Tokyo in LA a few years ago, and it tasted like home. Comforting, familiar, and exactly what I was hoping for. For drinks, I ordered the "SONO? SO-YES!" entirely because of the name, but also because I love blood orange. Casamigos Blanco tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, coconut cream, simple syrup, and blood orange juice, it was excellent. My only complaint is that I wanted more of it. My wife got the Okinawa Spritz, a play on an Aperol spritz with passionfruit, and it was even better than the original. We finished with the yuzu cheesecake. I debated between that and the ube cheesecake, but since this is a Japanese restaurant, yuzu felt right, and it absolutely delivered. Overall, everything from the food to the drinks hit. This is a place I would happily return to, and honestly, I'm already looking forward to the next visit.
