The High Ball was amazing. What a fun experience. The secret speak easy entrance is through a Coca-Cola machine door! The ambiance is cosy Art deco with comfortable booths and adjoining double sided bar connected to it. We met the cordial owners and the lovely waitress Olivia! The sandwiches were mouthwateringly delicious hearty and satisfying deli style. Even a sandwich on giant pickle slices to treat gluten free me. We got there early in the evening and enjoyed the feeling of a private club. An intriguing selection of hand crafted cocktails. Everything went well!!!

Love, love, love it here! Customer service great, drinks great, atmosphere great. I was greeted by a worker who immediately asked me have I been here before, when I said no he said welcome with a big smile. The bartender was funny and personable. They were playing old school music at a nice calm volume. I'll absolutely will be back.

TLDR: A hidden speakeasy gem in Fells with incredible cocktails, great vibes, and outstanding hospitality. Go before it becomes the next big thing. Highball, the speakeasy in the back of Bank St Deli, is one of the coolest speakeasy concepts I've experienced in Baltimore and it instantly reminded me of the hidden bars you find throughout NYC. The nondescript deli storefront is perfect, and the secret entrance behind the soda machine absolutely nails the speakeasy reveal. My group of eight stopped in on a Saturday right when they opened at 4pm and had the bar to ourselves. The bartenders were incredibly hospitable and quick with thoughtful drink recommendations. A few of us hit it off with Evan in particular, who kept the cocktails flowing and the conversation lively. We only came for pre-dinner drinks so I can't comment on the deli portion, but the sandwich menu looked solid. What really shines here are the cocktails and the ambiance. The decor sets the tone, and the drinks match it with style. Our favorites were the Green Book Reserve and the Bank Street Dirty, their creative spin on a dirty martini. Every drink was balanced, inventive, and delicious. Overall, Highball feels like it's on track to become one of the hottest spots in Fells, so make sure to visit before everyone else catches on.

I appreciate their attempt at a cocktail "speakeasy" bar. They did a great job with the bartenders, but it took us 30+ minutes to even be able to order a drink since everything was ordered only from one portion of the table. They also had their lights on incredibly bright. - all in all, would not recommended.

Really well run spot. Took a large group in there and all staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge area is laid out very well and the place has a good vibe. Also helps to have a deli attached for some good sandwiches while you hang out. Will definitely be back.

Highball is one of those places that makes the experience just as memorable as the food and drinks. At first, you think you're walking into a liquor store... then suddenly it turns into a delicatessen. From there, you have the option to go through a vending machine door that opens into an entirely new space: Highball. That reveal alone sets the tone for the night. The bar area is intimate, but it opens up into a cozy lounge that secretly overlooks the deli, which is such a cool touch. We started the evening seated at the bar, where the bartenders were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made fantastic drinks. As our group grew, we moved into the lounge area, which ended up being super comfortable and perfect for all of us to relax and enjoy the night. The food? Absolutely on point. I had the Caprese sandwich, which was fresh and delicious. Someone ordered the Caesar salad, and it honestly didn't stand a chance -- it was that good. Another had the Reuben, and it was packed with perfection. Drinks were just as impressive. We sampled a variety -- one with mezcal, one with Buffalo Trace (my choice, and it was yummy), plus Manhattans and smoked Old Fashioneds. Every drink was crafted beautifully and tasted just as good as it looked. Great vibes, amazing drinks, solid food, and a fun hidden-gem feel. Highball is definitely a spot I'd return to and recommend if you're looking for something a little different with a lot of character.

This is a place you need to check out before it becomes the next hot thing! Lots of free parking. a little outside of the fells point area sits this cute little bar! Walk through the front of the store and open up the soda machine to find this dimly lit beautiful bar! The service was great, drinks were tasty! Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

$1,000 a year for membership? Thats wild. Too much for Baltimore in my opinion. There's plenty of speakeasy's around.

Recently, I had the opportunity to stay at the Royal Sonesta in the Inner Harbor for a staycation…read more As a Baltimore resident, I was thrilled to be spending the evening overlooking the picturesque harbor. I could not get enough of the beautiful view. I was slightly kicking myself for not taking a sunrise timelapse video. Upon checking in, my girlfriend and I took a quick tour of the lobby and the bar upstairs. We opted to grab a cup of coffee at Formula Espresso (the coffee shop/convenience store in the lobby). They use Illy espresso beans which are some of my favorite. We each ordered latte's and they were delicious. Formula Espresso also has a small wine selection, we picked up a bottle so we could have a drink in our room before dinner while taking in the incredible view. While we were touring the hotel, someone stopped by and dropped off some chocolates which paired perfectly with the bottle of red we picked up and it made for a great pre-dinner snack. The hotel restaurant is called Explorers Lounge and it has a bit of a safari feel to it which matches the global feel of the menu. We started with apps and shared the Thai Chicken Tower which had the most delightful peanut sauce. I'm a sucker for peanut sauce and I couldn't get enough of this dish. We also tried the Sonesta Grilled Beef Turnover which I think was my favorite bite of the evening. The grilled steak was griddled in a tortilla with onions and cheese and served with a creamy, spicy sauce. It was a great way to start the meal. For our entrees, my girlfriend went with the Steak Diane. The grilled sirloin was served with onions and tomatoes over a creamy risotto. This was the ultimate steak dinner and she loved every bite. I ordered the Grilled Crusted Pacific Salmon. The dish was so fresh and light and I was crazy about the citrus butter sauce. Another great dish. After dinner, we enjoyed some of the chocolates that the hotel sent over and the bottle of wine we picked up. We also filled out the room service breakfast card because there truly is nothing better than breakfast in bed. I did make it a point to wake up early to catch the sunrise over the harbor which was truly stunning. When breakfast came, it was a delicious spread of all of our breakfast favorites. We decided to share a little bit of everything. It was all delicious but the French Toast really satisfied my sweet tooth. After breakfast, unfortunately it was time to check out. I'm already planning my next trip back to soak in the beautiful views and sample more of their delicious food.

We order the turkey club, hush puppies, cream of crab soup, the charcuterie board, fries, and fried oysters to share. The turkey club was the star of the show. It had nice layers of avocado, the chicken was cooked well, and the bacon added a nice touch. For drinks we stuck to the margaritas and they were perfect! I would say you can skip the fries, the seasoning was great the batch of fries we had seemed like they might not have been fresh. The rest of the menu was so good I would still say you could skip the fries and order a double serving of hush puppies.

We immediately asked the hostess for a different table. She told as that the three booths and the six other two-tops were all reserved. She left us with no attempt at an apology and promptly put reserved signs on all the open tables. When we left an hour later, one booth and 4 two-tops had never been used. Much to our dismay, we saw people seated outside even though we had received a text before arriving saying the patio was closed for the evening. To add insult to injury, even half empty, the noise level was so uncomfortable since everything was tile, marble, or wood that the alarm sensor on my smart watch sounded because of the decibel level. We will not be back.
