Oregano's is easily my favorite Italian restaurant in Fort Collins and one of the first places I want to take family when they come to visit. We've been several times now and the food and service are always consistently good. I've tried the Hakuna Piccata and Simply Caprese and love both. We've also had the Rigatony and lasagna, which are both bomb. My daughter always gets the meatballs, which means every visit I inevitably quote Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer, "That's a good meatball." I also love that they give kids a little ball of pizza dough to play with while they wait for their food. My daughter loves messing with it and it's such a simple but thoughtful touch. The atmosphere is probably my favorite of any restaurant in town. There is so much to look at. They have old black and white TVs, vintage products, signs and decorations everywhere. It has this Elvis era, old school Italian American family feel that makes it seem like you stepped into another time. I notice something different almost every time we go. The service has always been great too. You can really see the hand management has in the experience they're trying to create. The employees seem well trained, management is present and available when needed, and the restaurant just feels like it's being run intentionally rather than everyone simply showing up for their shift. My only real criticism would be the desserts. There are only a few options and the cookie with ice cream hasn't really been a hit for us. It tends to come out more like melted cookie dough than an actual cookie. We still need to try the other desserts, but honestly we're usually so full from the food that they haven't tempted us enough yet. Overall, the food is bomb, the service is great, the atmosphere is more than I could ask for, and they've been incredibly consistent. Oregano's describes themselves as the neighborhood Italian joint, but I'd add that it's the neighborhood Italian joint with a Southwest flare. At Oregano's you'll find pasta sprinkled with cotija cheese and pico de Gallo, for example. They have many locations throughout Arizona and one location outside of AZ in Fort Collins, CO. The restaurant has a funky vibe with eclectic and nostalgic items throughout. The restaurant is spacious with a few different seating areas including a bar. The booths are large enough to accommodate about 6 people (maybe more). We had four people in our party and we were seated immediately on a Monday night. The service was overall great. Our food was ready quickly and our server was attentive. The food was great also. I ordered the Alfredo after Dark which is a mix of poblano peppers, cream and a special blend of Southwest cheeses and sauté with spiral pasta. It's topped with diced tomatoes, cotija cheese, a jalapeño and their "south of the border" bread. The pasta was covered in a lighter cream sauce which I personally really enjoyed because I don't eat too much dairy in general so the lighter sauce, peppers, and diced tomatoes were perfect for me. I also added chicken which was flavorful and juicy. Our table also ordered a pizza with artichokes, sundried tomatoes, and mozzarella; the hakuna piccata which comes with two large chicken breasts lightly breaded and baked served over fettuccini with a lemon caper butter sauce; And our table also ordered the chicken parm sandwich which is a chicken breast topped with marinara, provolone and four cheese blend on an Italian roll with garlic spread. I'll start by saying the service was excellent. Our waiter couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. The ambiance is a mix between an old school Italian restaurant and a Chilies. First time stopping in here last night and really glad we did! Was looking for some food "home cooked style Italian" and this fit the craving! We started off with the cheese curds in the garlic parm flavor and they were soo good! Would definitely order again. Two entrees ordered; hakuna piccata - this was really good, great lemony flavor that's not overwhelming but just the right taste, I enjoyed it. I would order it again. THE COOP DE VILLE JUMBO CHICK PARM- this was also really good and had great flavor! Would order it again! The breadsticks that come with the pasta dishes is delicious!! So buttery. We ended the dinner with the Cannoilis. These are good if you really want a cannoli. I spent a lot of time in Boston and got spoiled with bakeries/cannolis and while these weren't as great as I've had, they definitely helped cure the craving! My coworker/friend and I decided to go to Oregano's for lunch today. This is the first time we've eaten here. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff. I noticed right away the great ambiance of the restaurant. Their menu selections are excellent. The prices are pretty decent, in my opinion. We ordered the fried calamari to share and it was so delicious. My friend ordered the stuffed rigatoni and I ordered the Ziti pasta. They were both delicious. And the portions of our food were great. We couldn't finish our food and had to get it to go. Our waitress was Lindsey and she was very friendly and professional and attentive also. She made sure we were happy with our meals. I just got done eating at this establishment. Their food was tasty- once they brought out what I had actually ordered. My server, who was the bartender, was outstanding! This Oregano's is just like all of the others- quaint, comfortable, and usually reliable. When I arrived, there were about 6 occupied tables in the whole place. I sat at the bar and ordered an Italian sandwich. I was brought a turkey sandwich. I know that this is not my server's fault. It is the kitchen that messed up the order. So she goes back and has them make me the correct sandwich. Mission accomplished. I was finishing my sandwich when I asked to place an order to go. I ordered the Italian sausage sandwich. I had it the previous evening and it was delicious. The sandwich I had the previous evening was sausage and mozzarella in an Italian Roll and baked- that's it. Basic, just like I like it. Anyway, when the sandwich was brought out, it was incorrect, again. My server noticed and said she would have them re-make it. I told her no, just bring the check. I can completely understand an incorrect order from time to time. Especially if it's busy, but the place was pretty dead. The reason for the 2 stars is because of my server. She was awesome. My wife and I are in town to help our son, who arrived today in Ft. Collins, along with his fiancée, in a move from Flagstaff, AZ. We had been to Oregano's in Flagstaff and liked it, and this location is close to our hotel. It is Tuesday, and the place is fairly busy. We waited for a table to be cleaned, then we were seated and had to wait close to 10 minutes for our server to show up. He seemed like a nice guy, took our simple order of the Bollo pasta and drinks, and we were then served in a timely manner. He brought each of us an extra piece of garlic bread, which we appreciated, and gave my wife a refill on her coke to go, and that was nice. However, after the food came, we didn't see him until we were finished. That, I didn't appreciate. For us, the pasta and sauce was just ok, and the garlic bread had too much butter and garlic, requiring us to scrape it off. I didn't enjoy my hazy IPA. I had a Tuesday off and decided to take myself on a solo date. I've driven by this restaurant (it used to cycle through a multitude of restaurants every year but Oregano's has stuck around) for years and finally decided to stop in. The parking lot is expansive (and empty on a Tuesday afternoon) and I was able to grab a spot in the shade. I was greeted immediately after walking in and snagged a seat on the patio at the bar. I have trouble deciding on what to eat when there's an expansive menu, so I'd researched ahead of time. The Hakuna Piccata caught my eye and I placed an order for the regular size (they offer lunch specials/sizes as well) and a glass of red. Kaylee was behind the bar and spot on with her recommendations for both food and wine, and made sure my glass never ran empty. When the dish came out, it was MASSIVE. A heaping pile of creamy, lemony fettuccini studded with capers, two large fried chicken breasts encrusted with parmesan, and a huge slice of soft, buttery garlic bread. I loved the zest of the pasta and the chicken was wonderfully moist inside with a perfectly crunchy exterior. I enjoyed another glass of wine over the course of two hours and ended up packing more than half the meal to take home with me. Bonus tip: Happy hour is from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays and all drinks are only $4! read more

We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks! We sat there and our waitress came to take our order and we said we were waiting for our drinks first! That's how we do our lunches out! I finally went to the host or whoever he is and the bartender came snd said I was waiting on tables! Not our usual experience and the waitress should have taken responsibility as we mentioned it her a couple of times and then he brought them! We were looking for good pizza nearby and came across a lot of good reviews for Oregano's. When we first walked in, the gentleman at the front seemed to be bothered by everything and as guests, he treated us as though it was a major inconvenience to be seated based on his attitude. I'm unsure of his name, but he was certainly not friendly and I'm thankful that was our only interaction with him. Once we were sat, our server came over quickly and got our drink orders in. She made some recommendations as it was our first time and we opted for cheese curds as an appetizer, a side of waffle fries and the Bistro Classic with salami for our pizza. The food took a bit to come out, but when it did it was hot and absolutely delicious! Everything had excellent flavor and was cooked to perfection. We came for a bite of dinner after a cold evening of college football. This place is conveniently located off College Ave. with plenty of parking. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread and our friends got the calamari all to share. Delicious! My husband and I split a Sausage sandwich. I liked that there was a bit of a kick to the sausage. The coleslaw was crispy and fresh. We got waffle fries with our sandwich and it was a generous portion. I took a pic of our cheesy garlic bread but forgot to snap the rest as it smelled so good we just dove right in. At the time we put in our food order we also did a to go of the meatball sandwich for our daughter who was finishing up her marching band duties for the night. Our server was fantastic! Love the ambiance and decor. They had vintage bicycles and tv boxes with vintage shows playing. They had ample seating and the bathrooms were so nice and clean :). Our waiter Jeff was outstanding...almost upped my rating to 4 because of him. He had such a positive attitude and gave a good explanation of the menu. The food portions were pretty big so you'll definitely get full but the flavor was just ok. My friend got the Riga Tony and the pasta seemed over cooked and was a little on the hard side. The meatball was good. My chicken parmigiana was good but nothing outstanding. I liked how they split between red and white sauce. We also got a mixed cocktail which was good and the fried zucchini was probably my favorite. The prices were good for the amount of food you get. read more

Absolutely delicious and had enough to have lunch for today. I was able to use my birthday reward for a cookie and it came out undercooked for my taste and without hesitation they took it back and brought a new one. I have always been treated with kindness and respect and it is appreciated in the short staffed world of restaurants. From the manager to the waitstaff, really just enjoy going here. I have had many items from the menu and really like them all. I honestly cannot think of something I do not like. Guess it just depends on my mood. We got to choose where to sit and since it was a perfect summer night we decided to sit outside for a change. The establishment is located right by a major street so it wasn't the quietest, but we still enjoyed our time. Loved our waitress! My sister and I are redheads with green and blue eyes and she was complimenting us all night, while still being professional, attentive and waiting several other tables. The menu is so fun and playful. If you read some of the descriptions you'll find some funny things and have some laughs. My sister ordered the Hakuna Piccata, get it? Like Hakuna Matata. Okay, I'll stop. But anyways, it's their take on lemon chicken piccata served over fettucine pasta. The lemon was a bit overbearing and basically took over the whole dish so if you're not into that I would skip this one. I went with the alfredo the dark thinking it was going to be spicy and sadly it wasn't. It was good, but could've used more sauce because it was mostly just pasta and tomatoes. Lastly, we ended with the chocolate chip pizza cookie. DE-LICIOUS! A great size, the cookie was ooey gooey and filled all of our sugary cravings. Oregano's is one that I'd add to that list if it were anywhere close! Stopping in Denver, before heading home, after a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota is when I cam across Oregano's. It's like walking into an Italian version of Cracker Barrel! It's kind overwhelming to the senses with the hodge podge interior. But let the food determine your experience like I found out! The Alfredo Diablo is one of their signature dishes. Like a macaroni pasta, tossed in an excellent Alfredo, then a rotisserie style seasoned chicken tossed in with vegetables, and you have the making of an incredible dish! Their fried calamari is unique in that it is more like large chunks of squid that are breaded and fried in a panko style breading, but leaves you wanting more when you realize it still has a light texture. I'd give this place 5 stars but I just wish the prices for the pizza was a little cheaper. At least on the thin crust. The ingredients are really good from what I could taste. Reminds me of some places from Illinois. The pan pizza was good too. And again I wish the price was a little less. It looks like the stuffed pizza is no longer on the menu and that was something I was wanting to try here. Especially since giordanos is no longer in fort Collins. I was really hesitant to try this place because, as a rule of thumb, I tend to stay away from chains-- they typically have issues with consistent quality control. After thoroughly looking through the reviews, I decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised. I love thick crust pizza and although it doesn't come close to what you get in Chicago, it was pretty good. I don't know if I'd go back because the price doesn't warrant the dishes, but I have to give credit where it's due, and this place was a very solid 3 stars. Since that was a Friday night and there were extenuating circumstances (we were rushed to get to a movie) I never reviewed, thinking that i may be too harsh. Sans hubby - he enters later on. She was paying attention to the baby in her arms, so the oldest was acting out and trying to get the middle girl to follow her lead. They were screaming and yelling and it didn't get much better when Dad got there. Food made their mouths full though, and the place finally quieted down. Food arrives - I had the "Hakuna Pikata" which, while having a good flavor, was gluey in the sauce consistency. My friend had the "ITALIAN FLAG LASAGNA" and didn't eat more than a third of it. He said it was too saucy and the top had a crust he didn't like. The waitress never asked us if we wanted salad, or a new table, or how it was.
