Only 6 months into owning the car and it's been in the shop twice with over 5k in repairs (we paid 11k). found out that they had replaced the engine with a junkyard engine! nothing but problems from the start!! I don't understand how they can sleep at night when they knowing sell you a piece of crap. We thought by having a clean title and great carfax that we got a good deal. Never again we got so screwed and needed up trading it in for 2.5k after it stopped working for the second time. Which is when we found out about the engine. I messaged back and forth with a salesman because I had a two hour drive there to look at a vehicle that I thought was perfect. I got there to test drive the vehicle and while I'm happy they didn't try to just delete the code the check engine light was on. When I started it the engine sounded terrible and only drove it around the block. When I got back I asked what the check engine light was for and they told me it was only a knock sensor. Do your due diligence. They seem to sell cars as-is. If they're buying from auction, they don't know everything that's wrong with it. Their prices seem fair for what you're buying. I bought a high-mileage rig with a few issues here and there. I didn't expect the thing to be perfect, and it's not, but they didn't falsely advertise the rig either (that I know of... update if something crazy goes wrong). I had a service come out and take a look at it. I'm more miffed at the guy who did the PPI than the dealership. He overlooked a few key details that I think should have been mentioned in the PPI. They failed (just like many dealerships) to let you know of any known issues. the vehicle I purchased from them actually went through my current job and was able to find out a lot of things that were wrong with it. and just like most dealerships, once they get your money, they no longer know who you are or care. they also took a month to pay off my trade in vehicle and almost had a missed payment on my credit card so not recommended this dealership at all. only reason I gave it a 1 start is because you have to give them a star otherwise I'd give them a half of star. read more

Avoid this dealership at all costs! We gave them many opportunities to disclose any issues and/or imperfections in regards to the car we were interested in. We wanted to trust what they disclosed when we asked them to please let us know about any imperfections the car may have before traveling a long distance to see it. They chose to be dishonest which was a big disappointment and we were so thankful to know enough about the car's engine, etc to see that it was a lemon right away. Practically was chasing them to buy the vehicle on their lot and couldn't even get them to return a call regarding the vehicle I was interested in. If I wasn't looking for the specific car they had on a lot I would not have called them back even the second time. Had my own financing and all they needed to do submit the deal to my bank but instead gave me the run-around then sold the vehicle to somebody else. I broker probably 15 cars a year for family and friends and will do everything I possibly can to make sure nobody I know or I'm associated with whatever go to this dealership. Worst car buying experience ever. I purchased a 2013 X5 50i M Sport which they knew had issues. Second day I had the vehicle the check engine light was on and so was the oil light, ended up needing an engine rebuild which was $8,000. They are rude, don't return calls, pushy and overall complete assholes. Wouldn't cancel my warranty (which for $3700 sucks ass and you have to fight and fight for them to do anything and if they do you're paying for all the underlying fees) they wouldn't even let me take the car back with $2000 cash on top and get me into a new vehicle. Now I'm $7000 in negative equity and literally stuck with this absolute LEMON. If you're buying a luxury pre-owned vehicle get it from a certified dealer not some janky small dealership that will lie on your paperwork to the bank and get you into the car you want but only because that car came from the auction, they didn't inspect it and it cost them half of what they sold it to you for. read more

Bought a car with extended warranty from Dave, who said he was the owner. Dave made many claims about remaining in contact and taking care of me if I had any problems with the car and using the warranty through his shop. I had a problem with a seized caliper piston the following day which was causing the car to wobble and shake over 30mph. I tried contacting Dave for several days with no response, and never got a post sales text from him as he promised. I took the car to a dealership for the warranty work. Warranty was declined because Oregon Automotive claimed the problem was pre-existing, thanks Dave. Car is fixed now and everything is fine so I attempted to contact Dave to buy another vehicle, still ghosting me; I took my business to another dealer. For a small independent they had a great selection of nice cars. We were impressed at how clean and well organized the inventory was. We were greeted promptly, but not "pounced on". It was refreshing to be able to ask questions and get straight answers. They had a truck that fit our needs. Having a trade in and needing financing we were prepared for a long process. I decided to write this review because I feel a miracle happened. After the test drive we ventured inside the office to find it very professional and comfortable. They offered us a great price far below retail from the start, wow, a fair trade allowance even with a discounted price on the truck, wow, had competitive financing approved in minutes, wow, and had our paperwork ready to sign as soon as we felt comfortable saying yes, wow. No pressure, no games, professionalism from all the staff, and a great all around deal. This was a great car buying experience. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. I recently moved to Oregon from Colorado and was searching for a Jeep Wrangler. I have had Jeeps all my life and wanted a 4 door. I found a great 4 door at Oregon Automotive and went to look at it two weeks ago. It was outside in their lot sitting in the dirt and mud and it was pouring rain. I looked it over, started it up, and drove it. All seemed well from what I could see and experience. The salesman, Dante, was polite and helpful. I bought the Jeep and traded in my 2011 Wrangler in excellent condition. When I bought the new Jeep I asked Dante if they had a 30-day warranty. He said no. I asked specifically "what were to happen if the second I drive off the lot the rear end blows up?" He said "you call me. Sir, you call me. I don't want to just sell you one car. I want to sell you multiple cars. You call me and we will work it out." I knew the tires were a bit bald and that I would need to invest in new ones by fall. I mentioned that to him and he didn't budge on price. I ended up buying the Jeep as-is, no warranty. It is an '09 with 110k. I fully acknowledge I bought a used vehicle. Here is where my experience goes from great to terrible. The very next morning I walked into the garage to find a puddle of oil under the Jeep. I immediately send photos to Dante, the salesman, and called him. He told me to monitor it and that when I come in to pick up my hard top (which they had offsite but was promised to me) we would discuss it. I started noticing other problems as well. The tires, now dry and out of the rain, were completely cracked, corroded, and in need of immediate replacement. The right rear window will not roll down. The front two windows intermittently roll up and sometimes not at all. The backup camera, where it appeared on the test drive to only have rain on it, was completely broken. The AC and Heater only blow on the 4th highest setting and not any of the others. I replaced the tires for $1,400 and went to drop off the soft top for the Jeep I traded in. I checked the oil level and it was holding so Dante said to monitor and check back with him. Days later on the highway, the Jeep started lunge from right to left while changing lanes. Jeep owners refer to this as "bump steer." This was new as I did not experience this on the test drive. In addition, the hard top I did pick up from them was cracked in several areas and was missing a couple hinge pieces. I took the Jeep to a local mechanic with great reviews. He said that in addition to the shocks being the wrong ones for this Jeep, the front stabilizer was shot, the front upper control arm bushings were shot and, the ball joints were all bad. $900 for ball joints alone. He also said my head gasket was cracked. Thus, the leaking oil and also apparently coolant. I called Dante. After all, he said to call him if I had an issue. I only wanted to discuss the head gasket as that is a large issue. I was quoted between $1,600 and $2,200 depending on the work involved. Dante passed me to his manager, Mike, who listened to my concerns. He called the owner and the owner said they would not help. He told me to reach out to the shop that inspected the Jeep on behalf of Oregon Automotive prior to sale. I explained my disappointment to Mike about selling a Jeep that has a known oil leak as a head gasket wouldn't suddenly break the next morning after purchase. This was Friday. He said he would discuss with the owner and call me by Sunday at 7 pm. I received a text message Monday morning that they would not assist. Now, I am a businessman and have bought numerous cars in my life. I understand I bought a used vehicle without a warranty. However, I don't think it an unreasonable business practice to assist a customer who experienced a large engine problem the next morning after purchase. I was not requesting assistance on any of the aforementioned problems, merely the head gasket. If you are looking to buy a used car. Do not go to Oregon Automotive. They will sell you a car that will work on the test drive and break the very next day. My Jeep, a week old, starts up and immediately goes hot on the temp gauge. It also smells like burning coolant. I will need to fix the Jeep for thousands to merely drive. read more

Buying a car is exciting, but also a pain in the ass. The dealer can do a lot to streamline the process and make it as enjoyable as possible for the customer. I recently bought a car with CASH for this dealer's asking price. This was my daughters first car and this very straightforward deal turned into the worst experience ever. This dealer is definitely not customer focused and cannot communicate basics. They erroneously stated that my daughter could not own the car because she was under 18. There is no law in OR that prevents this. If they had told me they were unwilling to sell to a minor, I would have gone elsewhere. I also suspect the dealer clandestinely ran my credit even though I did not want to finance (paid cash). Finally, they said they could not mail my title to me (although there is no legal reason for this) and I had to make multiple trips (2 hour drive!) to pick up title because they failed to tell me I would have to call ahead - the title was only available at some (mysterious) times - they would not tell me what specific hours/days it would be available. They were rude on the phone when I was reasonably upset about having to take time to make ANOTHER trip to their dealership as though it was my fault. Overall, sketch place. read more
