Oregon Diner is a decent breakfast spot. Their cream chip beef is very good, creamy and thick and never had any issues with the dish, it is my go-to. The food is usually good, nothing absolutely spectacular, but you'll get your money's worth here. P.S since they've changed their home fries, they've been a mess, they are disgusting and never fully cooked, idk how nobody else has complained about this. Yea it's knitpicking like a Karen, but every single time? Your breakfast is good, but some dishes, the home fries come with it, don't just throw shit on a plate, I feel jipped everytime. The problems with this Diner lies with their lunch and dinner menus, after a few rough meals I've decided to not eat lunch or dinner here again. Food tastes bland, sometimes overcooked/undercooked, and no consistency. My bowels would suggest that you avoid seafood at all costs. Stopped into Oregon diner today for a Belgian waffle, after ordering before the waffle arrived I got a dose of LGBT harassment from 2 of the waitresses and the other 3 standing around said nothing... the diner was empty for a change so it was definitely me they were mocking... the one kept walking by me with a shit eating grin on her face, and proclaimed some Trump stuff for a kicker... just a warning to my LGBT+ family... it was not an enjoyable experience....i still tipped my server as she treated me normally but was very quick with the food.. was she trying to get me out sooner??? This is your quintessential diner. The menu is huge. There are lots of booths, a bar, a bakery case, etc. The bathrooms are in surprisingly nice/modern condition. The French onion soup was ridiculously good. The rest of the meal was just plain old diner food. Not stellar but by no means bad, either. The worst part was our waitress. She brought me coffee instead of tea, never refilled any of our beverages, and took a long time for the check. It's a diner, though, not a Michelin Star restaurant. Oregon Diner is everything a diner should be - cheap, fast, and tasty. My friend and I came here around 9:00am on a Saturday morning looking for a classic breakfast and were not disappointed. I ordered the American Cheese Omelette with home fries. All of the items in the "Oregon's Breakfast Specials" section of the menu come with your choice of fruit juice, toast and butter, and coffee or tea. All of this food, orange juice, and coffee for $7.96 was a crazy good deal! And the omelette and home fries were both delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us often to refill our coffee and bring hot sauce. Some may find that offensive but this is South Philly and I dig it. I am new here at only 2 years but whether I dine with my daughter, friends or the latest beau they all ultimately become patrons. We all drive in from the burbs. I get texts sometimes from friends thanking me for turning them onto Oregon .It has recently undergone a renovation and expansion. It is now very nice. What a fantastic diner! Walked in with a group of 11 people around midnight, and received the most friendly reception I've ever received for that trying set of circumstances. Somehow we all crammed into one booth against the wall. Everyone proceeded to order different things from the breakfast menu. I opted for a cinnamon roll and tea. The pancakes looked delicious, and the milkshakes were punishingly sweet. The best part of the night was at the end of the meal, when our waitress automatically separated our checks for us and wrote a thank you on the back of each receipt. After several unfriendly service experiences dining in a large group, this warmed my heart immensely. Overall, a great experience and I look forward to going back! read more

This diner has been my favorite since the 90s but after y'day, that's change. First, desserts are still unrivaled and waitress Ashley was excellent. My friend & I arrived abt 45 minutes before closing and told we had plenty time to order & eat. Our orders: crab cake & hot corned beef sandwich. Well, no crab, just Italian season-tasting breading & filler. The hardly warm beef was served between two slices of bread with no cheese (contrary to what's listed on the menu) and no condiments -no mayo, horseradish, lettuce, tomato, etc. I will no longer brag & drag friends & fam from the Washington, DC area, just to dine here. I will say the onion rings were delicious; the salad tasty, but neither were the centerpiece of our meals. Disappointing to say the least. Well folks this diner is on my just okay list. The waitress was awesome but the food was missing that ole school diner flavor. I had the ruben sandwich with fries and coleslaw. In my book a good ruben will have my toes dancing but there wasn't any dancing going here. lol Some pros about the diner if you like pastries and adult beverages this place has you covered for sure. I've tried the place a few times and at best it's ok (it's close to come and has a huge menu so I kept trying thinking it would get better if I tried different options) I would not recommend the 30 broiled seafood platter. Corn and potatoes were bland, no seasoning and the corn was hard. One shrimp, that tasted like rubber and had been sitting all day. Scallops also didn't taste fresh. Service was busy on a sunday morning but everyone was friendly. I got the belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and it was really tasty.

We came here to have lunch before we head to the airport, I must say we were so glad we came, food was amazing, our waitress Ruth was just amazing, you can tell she loves her job, even though she had more tables we gave us her undivided attention, I brought home to Houston a phyllis cheese steak sandwich and my husband and mother in law loved them. Classic diner food at reasonable prices. We had a party of about 15 and were seated pretty quickly. It seemed like everyone enjoyed their food - I would say that mine was okay but could have been better with a few minor changes. I ordered eggs with american cheese, home fries, and rye toast. The eggs were nice and buttery so I really enjoyed that, but they would have been better if the cheese was mixed in instead of it laying on top. It never fully melts that way (although I can infer why they'd rather prepare it that way). The potatoes were fine, but I wish I would have known they were the shredded kind, since I think of cubed potatoes when I think of home fries. I would have ordered them a little less well done had I known. So, minor things you know? But the food wasn't bad and I liked the atmosphere...and the coffee refills. :) read more

A tried and true favorite. This diner has been a place of comfort food since I can remember. Never a wait to be seated, even when the parking lot is packed. OK, so, the waitress was nice...I asked another server her recommendation. She said the prime rib, I wasn't wanting that at midnight. Te burgers are good, she said. So I said sure. Burger, cheeseburger and onion rings. I was bummed when burger came out, and bun wasn't toasted. And we are not talking a premium bun, either. Soft and white, out of a bag. Toasting a bun makes it 75 percent better and there's no reason not to do it, apart from laziness. TBH. Rings were out of a bag... Blueberry pie a la mode for dessert was meh...Pie from a case often has the whiff of staleness, and this one was no exception. Storage is so key and a diner has to figure out how not to get staleness fumes imbuing the baked goods. I'd not go back, sadly. read more

Staff was friendly but felt kind of rushed ordering. 1st time there and was chatting so had to order without looking at the menu which wasn't hard because I always get a chicken salad sandwich to test out a new diner. The sandwich was actually pretty good but what struck me as really odd was that it came with - nothing. No fries, no chips, no pickle, no little dixie cup of cole slaw. Nothing. I can't recall that ever happening at any diner I've been to in recent memory. A large group of us headed over after dancing at Cavanaugh's. We took over a couple of large tables in the back. First, the waitress would not take our order until EVERYONE had got there (which involved many cabs, etc.). So, by the time we were STARVING, she finally took our order. People were eating the jam out of the packets, we had waited so long. Another half an hour later, I got the wrong order. When I questioned it, I was dismissed repeatedly. Then, when I finally got her to address it, she tried to tell me that I was wrong. Whatever, starving, ate the thing. Philly cheesesteak, nasty! Completely dry and no onions, just meat and bread. Yak. It wasn't just me. I heard whines and complaints up and down the table. The steak and eggs had no flavor (how do you completely cook the flavor out of a steak?).
