Swung by for quick breakfast before heading into Philadelphia Museum of Art. It's located about 2 blocks away from the museum at the bottom of a high rise building in the back. It has both indoor and outdoor seatings. The visit occurred on a Saturday morning and the place was packed inside and out. We were seated right away and hot coffee arrived quickly along with the menu. The servers were friendly and food also arrived quickly. I can't believe how much food was on the plate!!! Just with the potatoes and omelette alone was a ginormous portion. It also came with toast of my choice. I got the Spanish omelette without mushrooms. Don't judge me for eating my eggs with ketchup, please! I liked how the eggs tasted but not so much for the potatoes. I found them too greasy. I also wish my basket of jellies came with more marmalade!! Still, the food and the service turnaround time was phenomenal given the volume of diners in the restaurant. If I'm back in the area again, I would love to try out their pancakes and waffles. The ones eaten by other diners looked delicious!

Very fast service for a Saturday. Food is classic diner style. I got an omelette and it was very satisfying.

    Hotcakes

One hell of a sleeper hit. Pretty much everyone in my party thought their food was great. I got the basic hotcakes and while pancakes sounded good to me, I wasn't expecting anything as good as this was. Sure, even from my photo, they look like nothing special, but I think this Little Pete's NAILS the classic American breakfast pancake. Most places get it wrong in one way - the flavor of the syrup, getting cold fast, being too soft, etc. But they got it PERFECT here. Everything was right. I'm mainly a fan of Cracker Barrel's pancakes, but those taste like they have a crack injection. This place keeps it simple, stupid - and does a damn good job at it.

My husband and I had breakfast at Little Pete's a week or so ago when we were in Philly for the day. Little Pete's is in the perfect location to begin a day in the art museum area, since it's a short walk to the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Barnes, the Rodin Museum, and the new Calder Gardens. It's also the kind of place that I love for breakfast - no frills, classic breakfast dishes, friendly service, retro vibes. We arrived around 9:00 on a Saturday morning, and they were busy but got us seated right away. Our server was really friendly and helpful and checked up on us several times. The interior of the restaurant is kind of classic diner - nothing fancy, but clean, traditional, and comfortable. There were lots of tables of people that were a few decades older than us, and - I don't know about you, but - I find this very promising in a diner. The breakfast menu is huge and full of classics (pancakes, omelettes, steak and eggs, smoked fish platters). My husband got an omelette with grits and rye toast, and he just had to add a side of scrapple, too. I ordered the nova, onion, and egg scramble, which came with home fries and a bagel. You definitely won't leave hungry - the portions were enormous. Was anything the best version of that dish I've had before? No. But everything we got was classic and well cooked. Definitely a great breakfast before a day of walking around and exploring the city. Little Pete's is the kind of place I love: friendly, chatty servers; drip coffee refilled before your cup is even half empty; big plates of breakfast classics... I'd happily return.

Pete Around the Bush We were visiting the Philly Art Museum and had to stay close-by as we had a train to catch at the 30th St Station, so options were limited. They were limited more so by having a group of four fairly picky eaters, so the logical conclusion was a diner that had a little bit of everything. After a cursory search of the Yelps, we settled on Little Pete's (LP). Unbeknownst to us, LP's--or should I say the OG LP's that closed in 2017--was an iconic diner.** This is an Offshoot to the original, and has been in business since 2007. The Good: *Our waitress had that East Coast wit about her, which consisted of sass, sarcasm, and charm. *Nice clean location at the base of a giant apartment complex. *The market next door evidently belongs to them. *As with the OG LPs, the prices here are ludicrously cheap--especially when you factor in that you're in the heart of an uppity part of the city. *Portions are gigantic The Meh: *Being in Philly, I ordered--what else?!--the Philly Cheesesteak. Honestly, it was OK, but nothing memorable. I like that it was huge and filled my prodigious belly, so that was nice. The fries were standard Sysco frozen fries, and the cup of soup was also pretty good. The Ugly: *One of our companions ordered some kinda sammich and when he received it, it had a HUGE green moldy spot on it. He very kindly pointed it out to the waitress who became immediately flustered and whisked it straight back to the kitchen. I immediately began examining every inch of my cheesesteak for random spores, but luckily none were spotted. While they did replace the sandwich, it was a bit off putting that they still charged us for it. Not to sound entitled, but if I served someone moldy bread and was *truly* embarrassed about it, then I'd have comped them a few extras. But, hey, that's just me and I'm a classy guy. This is Philly--the city that booed Santa Claus!--so what else do you expect? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Decent diner but be sure to examine your food before eating it. **Philadelphia Says Goodbye To Little Pete's, An All-Night Dining Icon : The Salt : NPR https://share.google/UyCZYkx2Akcqm9FlP

Little Pete's gives a very authentic diner feel as soon as you walk in. Lots of tables and booths, a small bar, and a huge menu fit for anyone hungry for nearly anything. Dinner specials are a great deal for how much food you get. Entree includes soup, salad, a beverage, and dessert! The food itself is no frills good ol American homemade cooking, just as you'd expect in a diner anywhere in the country. The cakes and pies are also tasty. Honestly, the portion size is crazy big so come hungry or expect to take some home. Thanks

Diner vibe but with a bar! Pretty extensive menus and cozy atmosphere. It's located on the ground floor of the senior high-rise condos so a lot of older folk there. Staff was very friendly and things seemed clean. We only had a small meal but we both enjoyed our soups (navy bean soup and chicken orzo). I also had the chocolate cake and it was pretty dry so o would t really get that again but would be happy to go back and try their actual food instead of just apps.

"Two, two and two" but a lot more than that!

Guest Review by The Wife: Your typical Philly neighborhood diner, located in the basement of the Philadelphian. It is frequented by residents of the condominium as well as nearby locals. The menu is extensive, but our meal today was breakfast. My kiddo ordered 'two, two, and two' (two eggs, two pieces of bacon, and two slices of French toast). They received about 6 or 7 slices of bacon, 4 slices of French toast, and an unknown quantity of scrambled eggs that definitely looked generous for the supposed two. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled and rye toast. It also came with home fries. The eggs were fluffy, not overcooked. The home fries made me very happy, as they were sliced thin rather than cubed, which really allowed them to get nice and crispy the way hash browns do. But it was the rye toast that made me happiest. For some reason, it's impossible to get rye bread in California that does not have whole caraway seeds in it. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, exactly as I've come to expect when going there.

Little Pete's is a Philly mainstay that I'm so glad to have discovered this year. I've been here a few times at this point, so I can summarize the good and the bad. The good starts off with the service. If Christina is your server, consider yourself lucky. She's awesome. The cocktails at Little Pete's are good and strong. As far as the food goes, the fried seafood is the highlight. The fried shrimp, flounder, and scallops are outstanding. I consider myself a shrimp connoisseur, and the shrimp here and big and juicy and perfectly fried. As far as appetizers go, the chicken fingers are my favorite. They are more like small chicken cutlets than "fingers". They are always fried well, and you will get enough to take a couple home. As far as sides go, you can get a good salad and good roasted potatoes or a baked potato. The potato salad is middle of the road. The cakes are bakery quality. The carrot cake and the chocolate cake are my favorites. They don't skimp on the size of the slices. Now that I've talked about the good, there are a couple of missteps that prevent me from giving Little Pete's five stars. The optional bread service is hit or miss. Sometimes the bread is better than at other times. The crab cake is nothing but filler. And the mac & cheese is simply macaroni with melted cheese poured on top. I really don't understand what the kitchen is doing when it comes to the mac & cheese. As long as you stick to the items I have highlighted, you will have a great meal at Little Pete's. The menu is extensive and I will be back to sample more of it. I wish there were more old school diners done well like Little Pete's.

Scrapple, fried eggs, home fries, and white toast. Coffee and Screwdriver on the side.

I was looking for a quick breakfast for my last day in Philadelphia, and I found Little Pete's conveniently right near the Museum of Art. I walked in and got seated right away. The crowd runs older, but it was a lively atmosphere. The server was friendly and no-nonsense. I ordered the eggs and scrapple which came with home fries and toast. I hadn't tried scrapple before, but she told me it was a Philly Philly thing, so i decided to give it a go. Because it's vacation, I also had a screwdriver on the side (yes, they have a full bar!) The food arrived, and the portions were generous. The scrapple was fried golden brown and was crispy on the outside. The seasoning was really good, but the texture inside was a little mushy like a patè (it's kindof like a sausage made with ground pork scraps, spices and cornmeal). To be honest, it wasn't my favorite breakfast protein, but I am glad I had the opportunity to try it. The potatoes were a little dry and the eggs were cooked well. Overall, breakfast was a good experience here. The pricing was reasonable for both the food and drinks, and the location makes it a good place to eat before seeing the art museum and the Rocky steps.

Do they deliver within a range?

Yes they do though I don't know what the range is. They have always delivered to apartments inside The Philadelphian and when Covid started they expanded their delivery business. I hope that helps!!

I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

A quick note for first-time visitors: the restaurant has multiple entrances, and I initially arrived at the back door. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in directing me to the correct entrance. The space has a unique atmosphere. The indoor dining area felt quite dark, but the restaurant appears to have multiple levels, including an upstairs dining area and a bar, which adds to its charm. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype for me. It could have been cooked better, and overall I wasn't particularly impressed with it. What stood out most was the service.
