It's a pretty drive to get there. Once we were there, we wandered around the outside of the property and watched the shuckers at work. The oyster menu is based on size. We ordered a dozen small oysters. Without knowing how big a pacific oyster is, it seems like we got either mediums or larges because the oysters were huge. This place has been here since the early 1900's and is located across the street from the old town site of Oysterville. Pretty cool! This place is definitely worth a stop. In between Newport and Toledo on Yaquina Bay Road. A pretty drive to this simple, side of the road oyster farm. No frills, just a couple of options, they shuck them right in front of you, serve them up with some lemon and cocktail sauce, and you eat them outside on picnic tables. Fresh as it could get!! A great cruise to get here with great scenery. I ordered medium size oysters, I was able to spread out for two days I make my own shooter cocktail, these were big enough I had to cut in three portions can't go wrong! I also purchased the seasoned which I sprinkled some inside my glass with Jacobson habanero salt, I really liked the quality. When we asked a local where to purchase raw oysters, they sent us here. Very good prices so expect to receive a lot of oysters. If eating raw, I recommend ordering extra small to swallow in one bite (which were surprisingly large - I can't imagine how big the large ones come!) There is not a place to eat on site, as this is only an ordering counter to go. Oysters came in a container within a bag of ice to keep fresh. We wish they provided or sold extras to go with the oysters, like vinegar, lemon, onion, etc but this was not offered. So do not expect a restaurant ambiance or experience. read more

I seriously Yelped this place before visiting Oregon in February. I was determined and just had to get fresh oysters from this specific oyster farm. I was not disappointed. Oregon Oyster Farm was easy to find and had some parking across the street. Parking seemed limited where the building was. Unfortunately when I went, COVID-19 ruined the whole oyster farm experience and live shucking. But at least I learned how to shuck my own oyster. I walked up to the window and there was a menu with the oysters and pricing. I got a dozen Kumamoto oysters and a pint of already shucked medium oysters. I loved how the oysters were bagged with ice for the 1 to 2 hour ride up to Lincoln. The kumamotos were super delicious! They were small, succulent, sweet, and slightly salty. Not to mention - FRESH. My boyfriend doesn't enjoy raw oysters as much as I do but the kumamotos here, he loved. Usually I get the most portion of oysters but we split it down the middle. We also made oyster shooters with these, they were PERFECT in the shooters. The raw oysters in the pint were good, tasted fresh but I think the shelled ones are way better! I arrived around 330pm on a Monday afternoon. I bought a dozen of xs oysters,1/2 pint of smoked oysters and 3 pounds of the steamer clams. This place is straightforward, it's a small front store. Walk in, get what you need and pay. The farm is small and there were no oyster processing in sight or anyone working at the farm. Maybe it's toward the end of the day? I was informed by the cashier that most oysters must be cooked due to the waters here. The only type of oysters that can be eaten raw are the xs oysters (which are not harvested here but at another farm). She did not say from where but assured me they are safe to consume raw. My reason for 2 stars rating is mainly due to the oysters. I got violently ill 2 hours in after consumption. Threw up twice and had tummy issues the rest of the evening. It has been 2 days and I haven't fully recovered 100%. Everyone in the family enjoyed the steamer clams and had no issues. I was the only one that had the oysters. I have had dozens of raw oysters in my life but never had any issues until now. Please think twice about consuming raw xs oysters raw from this place. read more

We had a mass amount of oysters from Oregon Oyster Farm at an event. Nice Fall oysters from clean waters in Yaquina Bay. We enjoyed raw the native Pacific oysters, with meats 1 - 1 1/2 inches across, Kumamotos, a Japanese species 1 1/2 - 2 inches across, and smoked oysters. I will start out by saying we have been coming here to buy oysters for over 10 years when we visit Newport on our yearly trip and have always been greeted nicely. This year however, we were not. I like how the company has improvised and customers can order through the window instead of going inside, but no need to be rude. This is the worst oyster farm I've been to. First, Yaquina oysters are so bland. Second, you cannot shuck your own and eat it there. You must either pay for them to shuck it, bring your own knife, or buy a $10 knife. Other farms provide their customers with shucking knives. Bad way to make a buck. Customer service needs to be improved. The only thing that is good here is that they are cheap. About $13-15 for petite to medium, and $18 for Kumamotos. About $1 per oyster, if you want it shucked. Not worth the drive. It's about 20 mins away from Hwy 101. You are better just getting oysters from other seafood markets in the middle of Newport. read more

My family and I were on a week long RV trip up the Oregon coast and we were on the hunt for fresh seafood. We were all so thrilled to find the Oregon Oyster Farm! We came to this oyster farm at the end of the day last year, and the owner was the one who was closing the store, so we got to chat with him for a while and he was so friendly about everything! (Telling us about how all the oysters in that gigantic truck parking right outside the farm are going to import to Taiwan!) So, of course we came back again... HOWEVER, my very recent experience is TERRIBLE! This middle aged female worker was being extremely sketchy about the service fee of shucking the oyster! (We are on a road trip so we hope she can shuck the oysters for us) First, she was asking me how much would I buy. So I don't want to be cheap since she told me she is going to shuck them. And I told her I'd get about 40 dollars of oysters (I think it's about 2 dozens) Then, she told me she will charge me 3 dollar shucking fee per oyster! Then I said it's not on the menu, and last time when I visited, your boss didn't charge me anything! She replied her boss is not here today and she is going to change me 3 dollars service fee of shucking each oyster! I was shocked by how weird this whole thing turned out. So, I politely said I would come back next time. However, she changed her mind and told me she would give me a discounted service fee if I still want it! I'm sooooo shocked that how can a service fee be so unpredictable (not marked on menu) and the service can also be changed anytime by the employee!?!? The oysters were great. I've only ever had raw oysters at a restaurant. These are certainly the best I've ever had. A couple of points for those not in the know (Like I was): You can just buy a 1/2 pint of raw oysters, so already shucked. They are not as nice looking as when presented in the half-shell by a waiter, but just as tasty. This place is an actual oyster farm and not a restaurant. You have to get them to-go. So if this is your first time, I suggest: 1. Go buy a few forks and napkins 2. Go here and get a 1/2 pint of the petite oysters (don't be fooled into thinking xtra small means small). Nothing but bi-valves! They are focused on oyster goodness and that's it! You can watch them shucking from the window or from inside the store. The owner/manager/? gave us a little informative tasting session at the register and shucked one of each varieties coupled with a little history. The Kumamotos are my favorite--salty and didn't need a damn thing on them. The Pacifics are big and meaty and would go well with some lemon and horseradish. Great service! Beautiful Drive! This tiny Yaquina Bay oyster farm sure grows some behemoth bi-valves. I bought the medium ones, and they were twice the size of any oyster I've ever seen at the supermarket.
