This was an amazing place. The edamame was great, sushi was great, bulgogi beef was fantastic, green beans with chicken was phenomenal. Miso soup has little chunks of delicious tofu. I marked this as a favorite because whenever I'm in town I'm going here. The staff was so nice and friendly and fast. 5 stars isn't enough for this place. This is the best Oriental place in Sw Topeka. More than Chinese, also has Korean, Japanese and Thai. Very reasonably priced. Great lunches. Bright. Decent Sushi. Absolutely go here and not down the street to the HyVee. Yuck on their chinese! read more

Solid chinese food restaurant! some of the quickest, freshest, tastiest chinese food in town. Although I agree that they do not cook "authentic" chinese food, they certantly do a better job of plating something edible than any other joint in town. Lunch specials are hard to beat. read more

i went in a couple of weeks ago and the service was awful. i went in about 20-25 minutes before close and the waitress refused to sit me but told me i could order to go. the woman that the front counter was extremely rude, acting very impatient with me when i was trying to order and just about every thing i tried to order she told me i couldn't have. she then proceeded to throw my receipt at me and glare at me the entire time i waited for my food. when i finally got my food i asked if i could have a sweet and sour sauce and they told me it was in the bag. when i got home to eat my food i found an empty sweet and sour container in my bag. this was the second time i've encountered bad service at this restaurant. i will not be returning. read more

I went here on a random day where my cravings for a sushi bar were overwhelming... I read what reviewers had to say here on Yelp and I agree with most people when they say this has got to be one of the best places for sushi in Topeka! I ordered the Yummy Roll - it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Missouri Roll - he and I both agreed that it had a strange, fried texture that we weren't fans of. I'm sure I'll be returning for more of that Yummy Roll in the near future. :) read more

We love this place! We eat lunch there at least once a week and dinner several times a month! Everything is wonderful and the sushi is soooo good! Fresh, fresh, fresh! It has a drive through which is handy when in a hurry or just want to be lazy! Go there! You will love it! read more

Their combo meals are a great value. I love the huge selection they have so you can always try something different. It's an okay space - maybe a little too small for the amount of brisk business they do during lunch and dinner hours. The small parking lot fills pretty quickly and easily. Like it, eat here all the time seeing as they deliver and I live close. They have updated the website, style and just revamped everything. Added new menu items which is nice. I like their sushi for being in Kansas it is not bad, octopus salad was pretty tasty though a little heavy on the sesame oil. I saw they had Goi cuon and I almost flipped though reading the description they sounded odd. When I got them they had cream cheese and shredded iceberg lettuce in them. I have never heard or seen that and a Google search brought up nothing. I missed the sweet, velvety butter lettuce that usually wraps encases everything and prevents the harder veg from puncturing the delicate rice paper. Basically what I am getting at is that they are not good, the iceberg is blah and the cream cheese made it feel to heavy and Americanized. I miss the rice vermicelli which this salad roll lacks. I enjoy the Singapore noodles and their Pad Thai. read more

I used to love the fried rice here, but it's become way too bland. Last time I carried out, the wontons had almost no filling, the chicken had lots of fat and gristle, and it was really just very disappointing. It's hard to find good Chinese food in Topeka, KS. I've had several experiences with them forgetting to put certain items in the bag, especially rice. You learn after a while to check. One time when I walked in, they told me to sit anywhere and then proceeded to ignore me for the next fifteen minutes, and I was on my hour lunch break. Needless to say I left and went to Subway. They weren't at all busy and one of them was texting and others were talking to each other... Tried to get their attention, but it's not a big restaurant so I'd think you would notice a customer. Oriental Express in Topeka is my new favorite restaurant. They deliver quickly, they are reasonably priced, and their food is amazing. Their sweet and sour chicken is prepared in the sauce so it is very flavorful and their fried rice tastes authentic. I highly recommend. read more

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants until our experience last night. We ordered dinner for delivery and they told us one hour, understandable considering it was a Friday night. About two and a half hours later and after multiple calls to the restaurant, we finally got our food. The delivery boy was so sweet and I know it wasn't his fault. However, all of the food was so soggy it was almost what I would declare inedible. I am very, very disappointed and I will not be ordering from here again. read more

Food was good as usual. Service was lousy. The waiter took the order and only came back to bring the food. Someone else who was having a really bad day refilled our drinks. Normally, I leave cash on the table for a tip so the waiter doesn't have the ability to go back and have access to my card. On this day, the waiter, whom I have had before and always acts like a jerk, looked at the credit card receipt and said, "No tip?" I was so irritated that I told him it was on the table when it wasn't. My friend later returned to retrieve an item he had left and this same waiter said 'You can tell your friend he is a liar." I have been loyal to this restaurant for a long time. There are now at least three families who will NEVER return. And I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this. read more

The place is well kept. The price is great the food was good but the service was bad. Our waiter was more concerned with texting and eating the food he had delivered to them. His co worker cleared our plates and filled our water. Then I watched our waiter sneeze into his hands and go right back to texting then he brought our food pretty sure he never washed his hands as they were dry when he delivered the food. Then strait back to texting. Then when I paid at the counter I did not leave a tip on my card. I did leave a tip on the table. But the guy said to me "what you aren't going to leave a tip?" Wow.
