Tried this place out for the first time. They took me in the same day that I called, which shows flexibility. Inside there were a few rooms. It was $62 for an hour of half body and half feet, with hot stones (my fave). I told the woman where I wanted her to focus on the most, and she did an amazing job! She was attentive and handled my body with the utmost care. I almost fell asleep on the table, and that rarely happens for me. The staff were kind and courteous, and I really loved the smell of the lotions/oils they use. Normally it would give me a headache but it was a nice, light fragrance that was very aroma-therapeutic. This was one of the worst massages I've ever had, and I have been getting massages regularly for the past 30 years. I paid for an hour long deep tissue massage. $70 is on the pricier side but a good massage is worth it. This one was not worth it. The massage tech didn't seem to know what she was doing. She didn't use any oil. She seemed to barely be touching me... It was like the brush of a butterfly wing. She just kept going back-and-forth back-and-forth over my back without any kind of a plan, and without any strength, and without any apparent knowledge of the musculature, I asked her to do it harder she did not. She asked if she could walk on my back and I let her do that she stayed up there for about 20 minutes. Just kind of walking back-and-forth not specifically seeming to target anything. I have an injury on my knee and I asked her to please not touch my knee, but she spent a good long time rubbing my knee and yanking on my leg, which was extremely painful. After this horrible experience, I reached out to management and asked if they could either comp me a massage or give me a discounted rate on another full body one hour massage so I could try a different technician and they have had the audacity to not even respond to my request. Terrible shoddy workmanship, and a terrible way to run a business. !!!! It took a week, but the business finally reached out to me! They offered me a complementary massage because of my terrible experience. I'm so grateful I feel like that's the right thing to do in this situation. Thank you so much! read more

One day prior to the Bay to Breakers, I found myself in the seedy streets of San Bruno on El Camino Real. I've never enjoyed El Camino Real. It seems to be stuck in the 1970s with tacky architecture if you can call it that. I'm giving this place a liberal 3 stars but it is really a 2.45 star place. I rounded up because the price is very good and the service is professional. As for the massage, I didn't care for it. There's definitely a consistency problem. My friend's legs were bruised from her massage and me? Well, I felt as if I was being massage by a lepricaun and felt nothing. Add to that the juxtaposition of Theresa Tang and Enya music competing for the ear's attention, not to mention the loud El Camino with noisey motorcycles and traffic choppering by and I can't say that it was a soothing or relaxing experience. The routine is simple. you sit on a recliner chair. If you are 6 feet tall like me, the chair is too small. Then, you are given tasteless tea. Then my feet were placed in a sanitary plastic bag of hot water. I did like that they seem sanitary. After that, they give a head massage which to me simply felt like a woman messing up my hair. The deep pressure temple massage part was ok though but only lasted about 4 seconds. My shoulders and neck were massaged as were my arms and fingers but all without much quality. The climax of this massage is supposed to be where they put their reflexology skills to practice: the foot massage. As my reflexologist began the foot massage, I can tell you that it felt like two snakes swirling about my feet as if there was a land dispute or territorial dispute and that my feet were the sole source of the dispute. It was pleasing to the imagination but I felt no benefits from the massage. At the end, I had to turn on my stomach for the back massage as I placed my face through toilet liner paper into this created hole in the recliner that I was on. That experience was not very fresh and I nearly suffocated. Needless to say but, the smell of old furniture while being massaged really ruins the atmosphere a bit. Keep in mind, last Saturday was a hot day. Also, the interior wasn't cool enough. There was a fan blowing about but it wasn't very effective. Last but not least, I wasn't pleased with the management. The massager and cashier are different people and when I gave a tip, the cashier seemed confused. As my massager was no where to be seen, could the cashier have taken that tip without giving it to the person who worked on my feet and body for an hour??? $28 was the cost; add a $5 tip and it's $33. I've loved this place and constantly keep coming back. You really can't beat the price. I've been to many reflexology places looking for a cheap massage so I know not to expect great customer service and the side eye and expectation of a specific tip amount and even rude pushy looks asking for more tip or loud and distracting noises or the person walking off mid-massage without notice or warrant. I've seen it all. However, I've never gotten this here, which is AMAZING. Also, sometimes, it's cheap and the massage is mediocre, too heavy or too light. But this is not the case either. The massage actually is really good even if I'm not based on price. BUT the fact that I can basically get a cheap 60 min massage for basically $30 with tip, it's amazing and unheard of. Please don't raise your prices!! I always do the 60 min foot massage. This is done in a public room. They're fairly good in keeping noise distractions to a minimum. What to expect for a 60 min foot massage: includes a foot soak, and a face, arm, neck massage for like 20 min, then 10-15 minutes of foot massage (my actual least favorite part so yay to this) and then they ask you to flip and do 10-15 min back massage. The reflexologists/masseuse talk while they are treating you, one was actually looking at her cell while she did one of my legs, and I called her out, she did again when she was massaging my head. They allow people to walk in there with their cells phone and carry out a conversation. If you go late at night and the boss is gone you don't get the best service either. It's really sad but I can no longer recommend or go there as I'm not able to relax with all noise that's going on and the lack of attention. There's no reflexology it is more a soft foot massage. I have been coming here for years. I was very disappointed with the service from the woman at the front desk. She was so rude when I told her I purchased Groupon coupons. They were expired by the time I wanted to use them - in this case, they should honor them for the price I paid. Instead, she tried to FaceTime the coupon with the person she was talking to on her cell phone. She was so loud that the workers were starting to congregate at the front desk. She then started grilling me as to why I purchased the coupons from Groupon. What? Maybe because I like the massages? Geez! She totally embarrassed me in front of other customers and the workers. Berating me for purchasing coupons from Groupon that they "don't accept". She clicked "redeemed" on the coupon while she was berating me. Finally, with a wave of her hand and a yell across the floor to a worker, she said "go ahead". During my massage, she walked by my area and said something to the worker. She is rude and disrespectful! I always tip $10 to the workers - no need to take out her lack of professionalism on them. I still have one more coupon and can only imagine what ruckus she will throw! Update: I contacted Groupon and advised them of this situation. They credited me the amount so I won't have to go to the business anymore. I get a different masseuse each time I come here, but they seemed to have been trained by the same person. Just enough pressure to work the kinks out, but gentle enough to fall asleep. I've come to this location for quite a few visits now. The main appeal is the price. $25 for an hour. However, my last visit was very --- unique --- even by Chinese foot massage standards. Let's start at the beginning. Before even visiting, you should call ahead just to make sure they can accomodate you. This is especially true if you visit with a party more than 2 people. You'll find yourself in a dark communal room with Mainland Chinese workers ready to soak your feet in hot water. They'll start massaging your head, face, shoulders, arms, then eventually your feet. Everything is conventional so far. After that was when it got weird. My feet had just been pampered and attended to, now the guy asks me to turn around and take off my shirt. RED FLAG. Umm this is still a foot massage right? Ok whatever. I took it off. Dude then proceeds to grind his elbow all up on my butt. I was like...uuhhhh is this normal? Dude mounts my back and digs in even more. UUUHHHH....I'm pretty sure this isn't normal. Your hands are in my pants, homie. Though that was the extent of it. There wasn't any happy ending or anything - it was just super odd. When the seemingly never-ending massage finally ended, I turned to my friend who to my surprise was still fully clothed. Apparently I was the only one who got this kinda treatment? Hahaha...dear gods.... I'd think this were a one-time thing, but I believe I got mounted as well on my previous-previous visit. So my Mom came here for the first time this past Saturday and was raving about it...she set up an appointment for me and my sister and we all headed over here yesterday after work. $28 for a 1 hour massage sounded pretty enticing but I was still leary due to the low cost! I was expecting one of those massage places you see set up in the middle of the mall where they look like the people massaging your are pummeling you but whatever.... So we walk in and we immediately hear the soothing chinese-sounding-natural-spring-water type music and I see about 2 rows of 5 Lazy Boy type recliners...hmmmmm??? Okay...so they instruct us to each sit in a chair, they go to the back room and bring out wooden buckets lined with plastic with hot water...you soak your feet in it as they recline you back and start with a head and neck massage. The tiny lady who was doing my massage looked very unassuming but she had some strong ass hands I tell you!!! It was very relaxing.... So after about 5 minutes of that she gets up and takes my feet out of the water, props them up on the ottoman in front of me and let me tell you she went to town!!!! She proceeded to do a 15 minute massage on each leg and foot....and all I can say is WOW!!! She worked on my feet from the sole to each toe!! It was great...it felt like she was doing reflexology .... I could slowly feel my eyes rolling to the back of my head...it was the best foot massage ever!!!! I knew we were supposed to get our backs massaged after and I thought there would be a separate room to go to with those massage chairs, but she told me flip over and lay on my stomach and she removed the pillow under my head and there was a hole in the top to put your face through! Nice! She finished off by doing my back, shoulders, arms and lower back....I felt so rejuvenated when I was done!!! If you need high-end or Spa-like, this might NOT be the place for you; otherwise give it a try, YOU'LL PROBABLY LIKE IT. This place is INEXPENSIVE. Foot massage in the shared room is like $28. Off peak, during week days is even less! This is for an HOUR. The full body massage in the more private room is like $10 or $15 more. For a massage this is a good price. For the Bay Area, it's hella cheap. They serve up a PRETTY GOOD MASSAGE. That's the whole point right? Overall RELAXING. The hot water soak is great too. THEY BARELY SPEAK ANY ENGLISH. This makes for difficult communication. At least some minimal Mandarin is helpful. Good luck communicating preferences - one time I specially requested they focus on my Father-In-Law's back, instead they skipped it entirely as they thought it was a tender problem area or something. But they did then give him an extra free 15 min after we figured out what happened. Also it seems like they're trying to juice you at the end into paying more or giving a bigger tip - but maybe that's just me. (I'm curious what people tip. I give $10. I think another review here said $5. 10% to 20% of the $28 doesn't seem like the best way to figure it though.) There's generally one person there with some English, so if you want to go the extra effort you can have him translate from English to broken English to Chinese and back. Some POTENTIAL NEGATIVES to be aware of: * You don't get the same person every time you go * If you bring a group you might have to wait * The person who leads you to the full body massage room might not be the same as the actual masseuse * Sometimes the water for the foot massage is not hot enough (and do they change those bags?) * The ear-hole grab and head/neck pull thing is a little disconcerting * The chairs do smell a tiny bit on the face down part Seems like a lot of negative, but I like a Yelp review that gives me a feeling of the experience I might have. They start by having you lay down on a lazy boy recliner chair face up, while they soak your feet in hot water. they then massage your head, neck, arms, feet, then they have you turn over and massage your back. Let them know what your pressure preference is. There is street parking, they accept walk ins or appointments and they are open until 10 pm. $25 for an hour massage! The services here range depending on who you get. I've been here a couple of times already and the best massages I get is when a woman massages me. The men go way to hard in which it gets really painful. In addition, although the massages are good (only if you get a woman massaging you), the atmosphere is not that relaxing. When getting your massage, the sounds you hear are Chinese TV shows on high volume or Chinese music (the same songs on repeat for the entire hour). These are sounds you do not want to be listening to when getting a massage. Also, all the workers there do not speak English so it causes some language barrier there. read more

I've been here a few times now. I paid $25 for the 1hr "foot massage", which like everyone else has stated is really half a body massage. Massage chairs are separated by curtains, but the room is fairly dark and it's very relaxing. The masseuses do tend to chat with each other, but it wasn't so bad. I did have one experience when I came in pretty early and no one was at the front. I waited for about 10mins, and no one showed up so I just left. I have not tried their table or private room massages. In respect to the massage, it's definitely a lot rougher than you would get from a CMT, but that's fine with me. They got my back crackin' so good. within the 60min timeframe, they started with my head and shoulders for the first 10mins or so while my feet soaked in hot water. They apply lotion to your shoulders, so you might want to wear a stretchy t-shirt. Then they moved onto each foot for about 15mins each. The last 20mins was spent on arms, legs and back. My massage dude seemed to speak good enough English, and he asked every so often if I was ok. I tipped $10 and walked out happy, a little sore but relaxed. Not bad for a total of $35 for 1 hour. So what's amazing about this place, is that you get a full body massage, when you originally are there for a foot massage at the price of $20. Of course, they don't focus mainly on your body but nonetheless you get your body massaged. My husband, our 2 friends & I went there for a group massage & made an appointment ahead of time. We were seated almost immediately in 4 reclining chairs next to each other in a curtain covered, dimly lot room with soothing Chinese music. Our feet was immersed in hot water. They covered us in towels from our chest to our knees. I had a very kind woman who applied the most gentle & the perfect amount of pressure. She massaged my head, neck & shoulders. She then focused on my feet & legs for what seemed like 30 minutes. Then she worked on my thighs, arms, hands, back and butt from the front & the back. She never straddled me. But I was kind of apprehensive with the female on my husband's back & the male who straddled my best friend. But everyone was professional & enjoyed their massages. Thee only thing I can say was a downer was that they never spoke in English with each other which can make customers feel uncomfortable especially if they're laughing while doing it. One of the masseuses answered her cell phone which killed my calm vibe. And there were 3 other clients there getting massages & towards the end of the massage they fist their hands & hits you all over your body & our masseuses laughed about it.
