I was in my underwear getting my massage when this silly woman who said her name was ""(whose favorite phrase is "i don't speak English followed by cascades of giggling) entered my room with some guy in his his 30s, so he could have a massage, too. She said to me, "You don't mind" I said, "Yes I do mind" that I wanted my privacy, especially since I didn't know the guy, & these double rooms are for couples & friends, not 2 strangers. She ruined my massage by putting me in this awkward position. She kept giggling saying she forgot (that I was wearing only my underwear.) I said it shouldn't matter. I wanted privacy. I will never go back. I was horribly bruised. I've had deep tissue before and I have never bruised. I have never bruised from a massage before today. I did a 60 mins foot massage and it was good. The rooms are clean and masseuse was good.

Kind people and clean facility. However the massage seemed like a modified version of the chair massage you get in the mall. I opted for a deep tissue but it was all elbows digging into my very sore and painful muscles. At first the lady giving me a massage just deeply dug her very pointed fingers into my back without any oil or lotion then used her elbows to dig in deeper and across my back, that really pulled my skin and hurt. Then I asked for oil which she added but language barrier made it very difficult to communicate during the massage. At times the pressure was waaay too much causing a lot of pain. I kept trying to communicate but couldn't get through, at one point the lady sweetly said "no English". Some how I held my breadth and got through it! I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a proper muscle relaxing and therapeutic massage. The next day I had to take ibuprofen and apply topical analgesic to help with the pain. Positives- same day pretty much walk in appointment and they did give me a small bottle of water :) read more

I got new shoes and they had been killing my feet so I stopped by to try this place out. I got the 1 hour half body half foot massage and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. Cindy was able to not only make my foot stop hurting but she also fixed a crick in my neck that I had just kind of learned to live with. The massage was a unique combination of deep tissue and Thai massage techniques which were all perfect. I'm a bigger guy whose back is always very tense and I left that place feeling light as a feather and like I was walking on air. I'm so sorry to do this but I'm baffled by this experience. I couldn't get out of here sooner. We called ahead to ask for an hour foot massage. When we arrived, the woman at the front confirmed that we had called and then insisted on the full body massage instead. She called over another woman and let her know we didn't want the full body. The other woman made the most disgusted face, saw us watching her and then hid behind a wall to continue the conversation. She then came out of hiding to also insist on the full body massage. We discussed this for a good 5 min and we kept saying no thank you, we'd like the foot massage. They finally let it go and they took us in to the massage room. The chairs were so uncomfortable, my neck and back started aching just from lying there. The massage itself was by far the worst I've ever experienced. It was more poking and slapping my foot around. They were chatting throughout the entire massage and one woman was audibly yawning the whole time. Achy from sitting all day, I checked a few Yelp reviews, and settled on this spot, Uber-close and reasonable. I've visited more than my fair share of SoCal foot massage joints, so reviews with admonishments like, "they don't speak a lot of English" or "they were talking during the massage" don't scare me off. Just gives me a chance to showcase my limited Mandarin... and in the case of JF, my 7 words I know in Cantonese. Anyway, I called for an appointment, and arrived (a block away... thanks, First-Day Uber driver) a little early. When I walked in, the whole group was enjoying dinner and I felt badly... but they were very sweet, talked me into a 1/2 feet 1/2 body combo ($40), and set me up in a room. Within a minute or two, I was soaking my dogs in hot water in a bag in a bucket, and getting droopy eyed. The lady gloved-up, and--unlike other spots where they start with that bizarre but not unpleasant head and neck scratchy approach, she went right to work on my size 14s. Pressure can always be stronger for me (yes, please hurt me), but she started lighter and got more pressure as it went on. A reflexology-inspired pressure points move on several spots was a nice touch. Literally, I guess. After a half-hour, she told me to move to a different room for the body massage half of the hour. I got cozy on the table under a blanket and she dug into the knots from my neck and shoulders to my lower back. No chit-chat, no questions, no pressure check. All fine for me, actually, and while I still walked out after just a half hour with knots, I felt a lot better. And that's what this is all about. Got the cupped-hands beat down to signal the end of the massage is coming (you know, that bongo drum move?), and she said all finished, and left the room quickly. I paid and tipped an extra Andy, dropped a little Canto to their collective delight, and Ubered back to my room. While it was about $20 more than my usual head to toe Foot Clinic place, it was enjoyable and relaxing. Not the best ever for me, but definitely not the worst. Worth your time and $30 to go get foot massage here. Millbrae is 400 miles from home, otherwise I'd check this place out again. read more

I received a terrible massage from this place. the environment felt clean enough and they were able to see me immediately which was nice. the woman was friendly. I appreciate this business had the flexibility to accommodate same-day appointment request. Though, they were not able to tell me how long of the appointment that they would be able to accommodate over the phone but kept on saying "you come to see". Upon arrival, one of the masseurs tried to explained how I should get combination massage that included body and foot massage but it was not successful. I was glad that I didn't sign up for it. My masseur was nice but because of her technique, I would not likely be one of her returned customer. She didn't hit the "points" most of the time. JF Foot Bath re-opened under new management since 2021. I have been going to JF Foot Bath for a few years (on and off) and I will say the new management is great! The place has been renovated and is super clean. The new decor has a fresh look and uplifting energy. They added hot stone to their massage, so make sure to request. Since under new management, I go almost every 2 weeks! Julie, the manager and also the massage therapist is wonderful! She's super friendly and well skilled in shiatsu and deep pressure massage. Of course you can tell them if you need lighter pressure, but I assure you the deep pressure will get your deep knots out. Highly recommend taking a hot shower or hot bath after your massage to get the knots out. They also give you hot towels and hot stones during your massage. Ask for Julie or who she would recommend. It's still COVID, so they stay masked. Some etiquette and understanding to support the local business: 1) They welcome walk ins. 2) Call to make an appointment. If you can't make it, call to cancel, so they can open up the time for other customers. 3) Because they re-opened during COVID, they are still staffing up and training new staff, so give some grace. But generally, they are available so call or walk in! It's so hard to find reasonably priced and skilled massage therapists in the Bay Area. I've been to other spas including the Ritz and often find the $$$ does not reflect the quality and value. Check them out and support local business!! read more

Today, the boss introduced a male masseuse, who is very professional and good, because I've been under a lot of work pressure recently, and my neck, lumbar, buttocks, legs, and muscles are sore. Sam definitely has a knowledge of reflexology, acupressure, and Chinese herbology, combined with an uncanny ability to figure out exactly where to apply pressure where it's needed. The last time we went, my wife was suffering terribly with shooting pains through her head, neck, shoulders, and upper back. By the time Sam did his thing, she felt about 70% better, and was able to sleep the night largely pain-free. Then it was my turn. I was just looking for a light treatment for a slight pain in my lower back, but I had no idea how tense my neck and shoulders were. He could tell though, and gave me a thorough kneading exactly where it was needed. The price was very reasonable as well. I have also gone there for foot massages--those can't be beat either. The ambiance here is a bit cheesy, and they keep playing the same mood music every time you come here, but you can get a top-quality bit of bodywork here that will leave you feeling much better than when you came in--guaranteed. So far, I've only encountered Philip instead of the owner that other yelpers have reviewed. I've tried the foot massage and body massages. For the foot massage, Philip was good about explaining to me what he was doing and with what part of the body it corresponded. For the back massage, he was good about identifying knots in my back and working them out. He also showed me stretching exercises to help alleviate the stiffness in my shoulders. Rates are pretty reasonable, and they use the full time. Reflexology is $30 for 30 min, $45 for 60 min. All other treatments came out to be about $30 for 30 min and $60 for 60 min. Additional discounts if a package is purchased. Exercise patience when booking an appointment since you're likely to talk to someone who can be a little hard to understand. read more

This is by far the best massage you can get for the price. It's not your spa experience, nor time to relax as you will have clients chit chatting with your masseuse. This place is your go to if you want a DEEP pressure point massage. They are truly experience with releasing tension by hitting your pressure points. I get a massage at least twice a month so I prefer the massage to be painful at the time and feel great the next few days. May and Winnie are the best for the DEEP pressure point massages. I always see this place when I go home and decided to book an appointment to relieve some major upper back and shoulder soreness. I got a 60 minute full body massage for $50 plus a $10 tip and it was worth every penny. My appointment was for 6:15pm, but I got there 20 mins early and they put me in a room right away. Laid facedown on the massage table, clothes off except for my undies, and was covered by a blanket. The room was heated so the table was nice and toasty! My masseuse came in (didn't catch her name) and got started right away. She really got into my neck, shoulders and back, and as painful as it got, it felt so good and relieving! The massage was a mixture of over the sheet, hands to skin, and then with oils. I left extremely happy, loose, relaxed and thought that I'd definitely come back. I removed one star because the rooms aren't very quiet and you can hear everything that happens from the toilet flushing, to the people checking in, to the lady in the room next to me moaning with no shame "mmmm, ohhhh, yessss right there!" Made an appointment for 1 hour full body couples massage. When we arrived the lady with short hair says the massage table is too high for her in the couples room so had to separate us. I went in room 4 and boyfriend went in room 1. He got the male masseuse and I got the short hair lady masseuse. I liked that there was a heated blanket on me during the massage. The lady found my knots and kept working at them but the pressure was not strong enough, even though I told her to use more pressure. Throughout the massage the telephone kept ringing and my masseuse would stop and answer the phone. When the front door bells chimed, she would also stop and go greet customers. That was annoying. The lady masseuse in room 3 kept talking to my masseuse through the rooms! Massage technique wasn't there. Hour went up and time ended. Did not feel better than when I came in. Met up with boyfriend at the front desk and he was scrunching his face, as was I. Paid $95 for the couples session, short hair lady said she'd give me $5 discount. Gave each masseuse $10 tip, way too generous of me. They didn't deserve that much. I was telling him my face hurts and he said his too. The male masseuse who worked on him didn't use pressure. Boyfriend said it felt like he was being tickled, not a massage but a body rub. The guy masseuse is more skilled in foot massages because when he got to the foot part, he used a lot of pressure. We both agreed that the massage tables in the rooms where your face goes (like a toilet seat) are uncomfortable! It's not cushioned enough.
