Chicken + Waffles

So, my nephew turned the ripe old age of 3 years. After attending the Immersive Gamebox Experience, we headed to Ted's Bulletin for dinner. There were 14 of us on the hottest day of the year. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The air at the restaurant was NOT working. While there were fans blowing, it was exceptionally HOT![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars ([[HIGHLIGHT]]oh and the not so clean restroom[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]). Why 4 stars: our server and the rest of the team were AMAZING! They were thorough, kind, and accommodating. Any slight problems with dishes were corrected immediately. Our (tap) water glasses were continuously refilled. A few notes: burgers are prepared medium well if preference is not communicated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Call ahead to see if ac is on. Apparently, they don't have control over the ac; it's controlled by the mall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the chicken and waffles and the jalapeños margarita, both were delicious. Of the 14 dishes, only minor minor minor issues- remedied very quickly!

George was our waiter and our bartender. His attention to detail was second to none. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He made the experience an enjoyable one and made us feel right at home in a very welcoming and warm atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Best of all, the food and the drinks were delicious, made fresh and were tasty too! Thanks to Ted's but a special thanks to George. You're the BEST of the best!

I ordered to my hotel and it came very fresh and warm. It's very good. I enjoy the breakfast burrito & the steak was cooked nicely. I'd eat here again & again!

Went here for brunch with a group of friends The service was excellent! I ordered the breakfast burrito, it was ok mainly hash brown in it barely any meat and it lacked flavor :( so I was a little disappointed, I wish it tasted as good as it looks lol My friend got the blueberry pancakes which was good, it was more about the ambience for me! It's a nice place to get together with friends or family maybe some cocktails, I still need to try their dinner menu and give the food another chance :)

Big breakfast for dinner

Sometimes you just want to have breakfast for dinner! Diner's menu with modern twists. Service was good on a busy weekend night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is perfect for small or big gatherings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great experience here! Service was super nice for my larger group. Food was brought out quickly and hot which was so awesome since it was really busy when we came. BEAUTIFUL interior, this is one of my favorite locations to come to. Very stunning. Menu has a great variety of options which I love. They even had fun fall seasonal offerings

Ted's bulletin in ballston has a little bit of everything. What it had for me, was a much needed sweet treat after a filling meal. We stopped by after dinner and were seated by a very friendly server. He was patient as we ordered our eclectic combination of drinks and desserts from the comfort of the fancy well lit booth we were seated in. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake, and it was exactly what it sounds like. Vanilla Ice cream with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal spread throughout. Each bite better than any bowl for breakfast. And I got a little extra cup to share with a friend!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nicely decorated interior. Kinda fancy actually.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a good amount of seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly but if you get seated in the back they might forget about you. Service was okay. Food is decent.

Went here for a breakfast on a Sunday. We had reservation and got seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is casual yet a little more relaxed compared to some other diners.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick and our server Frank was great. I added blueberries to my pancake stack and chose sausage links for my meat. It was great and I was really happy with the meal. Would definitely come back.

Jalapeo Popper Wonton

I've come to this Ted's Bullentin twice now and enjoyed it each time. I feel like the 14th St location is a bit better, but Ballston doesn't disappoint. Especially those jalapeño popper wontons, absolutely delicious. I could eat those as my entire meal. I've also had the steak frites with chimichurri, another great dish. The highlight was really our waitress yesterday. Probably the nicest waitress I've had since moving to Arlington lol. Wish I had caught her name but she was incredible!

Daianna D.

Been here more times than I can count and it's always great. The servers are consistently kind and helpful, and the food is solid every time. No complaints at all. It's one of our go-to spots whenever we can't decide where to eat because it never disappoints.

Cyndi A.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Top notch brunch, service and ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The salmon was quite tasty and all of our food was delicious. The sangria was also perfectly made. Definitely worth the visit.

Ordered Farmers scramble....scrambled eggs done right: perfect texture, good flavor, best I've had in the DMV. That's all! I've lived in the DMV for over a decade and I can't believe I haven't stepped foot inside until recently. Great ambiance - like an elevated diner... pricing is comparable to other diners and would say even more worth it! Good service too.

Cilantro (to go), but with dirt all over it

That thoughtfulness is one of the many reasons I was excited to try it. When we arrived, I was initially concerned after learning that the "G" on the menu indicated dishes **containing** gluten rather than being gluten-free. Since many menu items were marked with a "G," I worried my options would be very limited, especially for the unlimited brunch experience. Thankfully, our server, Emma, immediately put me at ease. She brought me the food allergy menu, answered my questions with patience, and made sure I understood what was safe for me to enjoy. While my husband and I were deciding whether to stay, the manager, Antonio, came to our table after Emma shared my dietary concerns. His kindness completely changed the experience. He took the time to explain my options, offered to have the kitchen modify several dishes, and reassured me that their goal was for me to feel safe and enjoy my meal. Thanks to Emma and Antonio, what started with uncertainty became one of the most enjoyable brunch experiences I've had. I was able to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes, the mimosas were a great value, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light. What I'll remember most, though, is how genuinely cared for I felt. Before we left, Antonio stopped by one last time to make sure I was happy with my meal and that all of my needs had been met. My husband had put so much love and intention into choosing this restaurant, and thanks to Emma and Antonio, we both left with happy hearts and full bellies. If you have food intolerances or dietary restrictions, I hope this review gives you confidence to visit Ambar. Their team didn't just accommodate my needs. They made me feel welcome, respected, and cared for. That's the kind of hospitality that earns five stars from me.

I ordered the steak (sliced steak with mushrooms) , and it was excellent ....well-seasoned, flavorful, and cooked just right. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. We also got the crab and corn chowder, which is always outstanding. Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor every time. Key lime pie .... on point .... oh and a salad. i got the chopped salad and added the ever so good goats cheese. Everything was EXCELLENT. What I appreciate most about Carlisle is the consistency. Whether I'm dining in or picking up takeout, the food is always good. Not just okay BUT actually flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. That's harder to find than it should be these days. I've been here many MANY times over the years and the experience is consistently excellent. The service is great when dining in, pickup is always smooth and efficient, and the food never disappoints. Carlyle continues to be one of those reliable places that simply gets it right. And whenever I pick up my to go order the bar is always crowded with folks looking like they are having a great time. We were celebrating an old friend's birthday, so I wanted a special evening. We went to the Signature to see "Safety Not Guaranteed" which was so good and so much fun. Then on to dinner at Carlyle in Shirlington. Carlyle always pumps out some of the most satisfying meals. You are almost guaranteed to love what the kitchen presents you with. This event was no different. I started with the crab & corn chowder. Thick, luxurious, savory perfection! My main course was Jambalaya Pasta which was outstanding. The chicken was moist, the shrimp was perfectly prepared and the andouille sausage added a perfect piquant note. The creamy sauce finished a great dish. There was so much that I could not eat it all (and I usually eat everything that is placed in front of me). But the best - the ABSOLUTE BEST - part of the evening was our perfect server Sebastian. He was professional, friendly, fast, funny, helpful and everything you want in a server. Plus, he did it all with one of the best personalities that I have ever come across in a server. At one point, we were all laughing so hard, that he had to sit down because he was ready to fall over. He served us, yes! But more than that - he ENTERTAINED US!!!! How often has that ever happened to you??? It is a night that I will not soon forget! Sebastian is a smart guy who will no doubt go far in his life. But, for now, for right now, he is at the top of his game at Carlyle! If you love Carlyle, you will absolutely LOVE Sebastian. Please ask to be placed in his station. I promise he will not disappoint you. Thank you, Sebastian, for making my evening wonderful and for making my BFF's birthday dinner a stunning success, thanks to you!!!! I highly recommend Carlyle - and especially Sebastian - to one and all!

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.
