I went here for a repair since i work in the area. After dropping the bike off without getting a quote or anything I was a little concerned about what I just got myself into. They called me the next day to pick up my bike. They replaced the part and adjusted something else for me for a very good price. They also have a great selection of new and used bikes. Great Service & Solid Work on My SE Bike Took my SE Bikes OM Duro into Clifton Bike Shop after having issues with the gears and brakes, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff was super knowledgeable and immediately knew how to handle a big-wheeled bike like the OM Duro. They didn't treat it like just any bike--clearly understood what SE's are about. Turnaround time was quick, and they kept me updated the whole way. When I got it back, it rode smoother than ever--gears were crisp, brakes were dialed in, and everything felt solid. I drop off my bike for a peddle replacement and a 1 tune up for a cruise cheap bike and they charged me almost $200!!!! Adding extra services I NEVER ASKED FOR!!!! I did not like this shop. I visited during a weekday, on a sunny afternoon. I was in search of panniers and also wanted to see if they had proper road tires. Since COVID I had been cycling more than ever (even when I lived in Brooklyn), and would need a tune up following the summer. Support local, everyone! Well, that is, unless the local shop is pretty devoid of any inventory or supplies, is filled with teenagers looking around, not wearing masks, and what looked to be a beleaguered shop owner stressed out over a repair all the way in the back also not wearing a mask. Unfortunately I have nothing really good to say about this shop, and I hope that this was perhaps just a bad day. read more

Stay away! The worst service ever! The technical stuff is trying to make money on you even when they know they won't be able to have the job done (see more on that below). As for the bikes they sell - they are similar to what you can find at Walmart but for 2x-3x more $$$. Not to get close to the place! I came to this shop because I had to install new Shimano parts I bought and JensenUSA and I didn't have the tools and the time to do it myself. So I brought them the new M8000 shifter, cassette, rear derailer and a chain and asked them to install it. They charged me $80 for this work (just installing the new parts)! So, even if they did the work right (which was far from it!) that would still be quite expensive (at Huyndai they take less!) When I came to pick up the bike the seatpost shifter was installed wrong because the technician had no idea that the gear display could have been removed (it means that he sees the Shimano's 8000 series shifter for the first time in his life and doesn't know to read the manual) in order not to be in a way (the cover was in the box with the manual describing how to do that) and when I tried to explain this to him he didn't even want to listen! So, I had to do it myself at home - it was a matter of unscrewing one bolt and screwing the cover mentioned above with the same bolt. Then after a few weeks of riding I started to suspect that something is not right with the chain and when I took a closer look I realized that they installed the chain wrong! As a result the chain was running on some derailer's internal plate instead of on the pulleys (again - the manual!) and both got seriously scratched! So, technically both the chain and the derailer were ruined at that point and it was about $100 damage! So I went to the shop with the bike to show them this but instead of trying to settle this very unpleasant situation the technician and the lady working in the shop snapped at me and started to tell me that I must have done it myself (while I didn't even have proper tools to do that - that's why I came to them at the first place!). They told me to go away and, of course, nobody was going to refund me for the broken parts and/or refund those $80 that were paid for the service that was obviously not provided. So, the bottom line - stay away! read more

Needed a new tube and tire for my sons bike. After calling numerous shops and finding out they didn't have any left, I called The Bike Shop and they had one tube left. They put it to the side for me and I drove right down. Fixed the bike in less than 10 minutes and had a really pleasant experience. Thank you for making my sons day!!! read more

This bike shop is just amazing. The lady that owns the place was so friendly and helpful. I wanted to have a new suspension fork put in on my high end mountain bike. She spoke with her mechanic and with in a couple of hours he was done and the bike was good and ready for some serious trail riding. Most bike shops were telling me to leave the bike with them that there was a 2 week waiting time. This place got it done like I said in just a couple of hours. I have used them before and they always deliver. I find there prices to be lower or just the same as other places. Love love this place. The people are friendly and efficient. read more

Went to The Bike Shop after being sold a bike carrier/rack by one one the big sporting goods stores that didn't work on my car. Kyle from The Bike Shop went out to look at the car to be sure he made the right recommendation, then helped me with the install after I bought it. The next day I came back with a bike that needed some tuneup work and Kyle quickly and professionally helped me with that as well. Absolute worst customer service!!! The older lady at the front has the worst attitude. She was so rude and impatient slamming things from the start. When I suggested she should be more friendly to her customers she told me to get the f*** out of her store and started cursing and screaming on the top of her lungs. I was in the market to buy my 9 yr old a new bike so I researched a few places in the area & his dad & I decided to visit The Bike Shop on Van Houten Ave in Clifton. The doors were wide open, there were bikes in the showroom yet we were told that they had no bikes for sale.... I honestly feel like we were just not welcomed in the store as the employee basically hurried us out of the store without even trying to see how she could help us. Very rude.
