The chips are basically thin sliced crispy friends. So good! I got half mild Buffalo wings and Half Lemon pepper. The Lemon pepper was good but the buffalo was a bit sweet and greasy. Great service. Surprisingly good food. I got a chicken sandwich, my wife a BLT. We didn't expect great food, but were surprised. The bun was toasted, and chicken was generous and tender. BLT had lots of bacon, and cooked just right. Service was very very friendly, and they brought our food to our table. Additionally, I called the next morning thinking I had left my wallet at the store. The guy who answered the phone reviewed his video from the night before, and CALLED me back (I hadn't even given him my number) to report he had found the video, but saw I had not left anything. Mannnnnn what can I say about this place! I've been coming to this location and siting in the exact same spot since I was 16. 15 years later I'm still coming. This place has a customer for life. The wings are so good! Way better than any BWW or Wingstop if you go with the original spicy. You pair this with their thick fries, Coca Cola and it's amazing. Plus, the owner of this place is such a great guy. Super friendly man and we always talk here and there which adds points on my list. I also love their jalapeño poppers with cream cheese . I am a long time customer of OBW's. From the Petaluma location for over 15 years and now back in Marin and using the 4th Street location. As a restaurant owner I always look at consistency. Especially with "special orders". OBW's has been consistent between 2 separate locations and 2 decades! You can eat inside in Petaluma and that was always fun with the kids. It was always clean and no funky smells. I have not eaten inside in San Rafael but would expect it to be the same if that was an option. My biggest pleaser is the bucket of wings. I get them regular and always pleased with the flavor and the lack of fat in the chicken. The Bleu Cheese is always on point and the soft chips make the perfect little "hot wing tacos"! read more

I walked into this place thirty-something years ago, when Susan first opened it. Like my own family, she was from the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area of upstate New York. I told her how my uncle tried to get my mother to open a wing joint (on his dime) so I would have a business of my own to run after high school. My mother had rejected the idea because she said that nobody would buy chicken wings when they could get the whole chicken from Chicken Delight or Kentucky Fired Chicken. Susan found the story amusing and said that she got the same response when she suggested opening her wing joint. Anyway, Susan's "Original Buffalo Wings" had only one flavor, and she only sold "wings with celery sticks and blue cheese dip." No hamburgers, shrimp, cheese steaks or anything else you'll find on the menu today. She did one thing, and she did it well. And nobody else in the Bay Area was selling wings yet. She had a monopoly on chicken wings. Then one day, she sold her wing joint and it's been resold more than a few times since then. The menu has grown into a massive mishmash of everything under the sun but remarkably, THE WINGS REMAIN AS AMAZING AS THEY WERE WHEN SUSAN INTRODUCED THEM THIRTY YEARS AGO. The people who own the joint now are very nice. The menu is not to my personal liking, but the Original Buffalo Wings are actually original and made the exact way they were made at the Anchor Bar when I was a young guy--the way Susan made them when she first opened this joint. Well this place is here for ages. And the problem is you can tell. The interior is In Urgent need of an serious upgrade. Other then that I'm kind of a serial eater but only the chicken gyros and their outstanding homemade ships. The gyro is good and the best in town you can get. Only better ones around here are in San Francisco (park gyros) and in Sausalito (the old geek deli). But I never had better chips anywhere. So don't forget to get a combo skip the fries and go for the chips. I only order the gyro not since I am afraid of the other thing a they have on the menu but since it is delicious. The service is excellent; I placed a Takeout order and my orders were ready early. They were hot and freshly cooked and the woman behind the counter was very friendly and courteous. I ordered 26 Extra Spicy Buffalo Wings, 10 Garlic Parmesan Wings, Fish Combo, one Strawberry Cheesecake and a Chocolate Mousse Cake. They ALL were tasty and delicious!!! The wings were saucy and savoury just how I like it! The only downside? While taste-wise, the wings were great, texture-wise they were not too fantastic. Some of the chicken pieces were a little hard to bite into that it hurt my teeth and for awhile I had to pause from eating/chewing. These are the best chicken wings in Marin County. When I lived in the area, I ate here at least a couple of times a month. While I see burgers and sandwiches on the menu, and always get an order of chicken wings and chips. You could get fries, but the freshly, thin-cut fried chips are awesome. They compliment the chicken wings perfectly. They've recently added some non-spicy wing options to their menu. I just tried the lemon-pepper version. They weren't bad, but I won't get them again. I'll try the garlic Parmesan or honey mustard next time. Or, I can always go with the regular spicy sauce. I recommend that you eat the wings in house. You could get them to go, but they are the best if eaten hot, right out of the fryer. The storefront is a little small and cramp, but the hot, steaming wings are worth it. read more

I got the garlic Parmesan and they were small but good. We also got tender, were I didn't eat any of them they looked like a disappointment for sure. I can't get enough of these wings with the Original Spicy sauce and blue cheese! I have these on our office "Wings Wednesday" and sometimes on another day. I get delivery from DoorDash most of the time. I have been to the actual location in the past. It's a basic joint but it's all about the wings here. The carrots and celery with blue cheese is really delicious too! I have also tried the Jalapeño poppers and the fried zucchini- both really good. I looked on Yelp because I had a taste for buffalo wings and since I'm still pretty new to the area I wasn't sure exactly where to go. This place came up so I decided to check it out for a takeout order. Since parking is all meter parking it is harder to finds some spots so if you do not live within walking distance, just know you may have some trouble parking which can get frustrating. While walking to the place I actually passed it. It's a small place so it can easily happen if you're not paying attention. I ordered the dozen mild wings and a side of fries. First thing I have to say are the prices are great. They are very good for the food that you get, a lot more affordable than other places in San Rafael. Second, the food was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Depending on your spice tolerant, the mild is very good and has a little kick so if you're debating between the mild and spicy, mild will give you some twang. All in all this will be a great day for anyone that has taste for buffalo wings. read more

But somewhere along the line, someone informed me that their fish and chips were seriously better than the wings. I have to agree. And I've been back multiple times since just for those fish and chips. Fish was tasty. Furthermore, they make their own chips and their are absolutely delicious. Not too salty. One time, I asked them to try using their wing sauce on the fried fish. I understand. It was a strange request but they were happy to go along with it.
