It feels like a true locals' place where people come to relax, and I always have a great time here. Sitting at the bar is the move. Justin is the best--if you have a sense of humor, you probably won't leave without a few good laughs. Every interaction I've had with the staff has been friendly and easygoing. About 30-35 minutes north of Union Square San Francisco, Pig In a Pickle is located in a mall in the city of Corte Madera. Parking is easy as the mall parking lot is plentiful. The restaurant is also facing the street, so it's easily accessible. They are across from Starbird. They probably had really long lines before (or learned from their other location that always has lines). They now have kiosk ordering for take-out and QR code menu on the table. The only time you saw a server was them bringing food to your table. There is a water station next to the entrance. Pay with credit card if you order on the QR code (Apple Pay accepted). If you pay with cash, you get 4% discount and you have to waive down a server. Brisket was good. Baby back ribs were fall off the bone. We had a party of two, which we noted in the order, and we ordered a small size, which comes with three bones. They gave us four ribs! The sides here are so flavorful. The potato salad was great. The mac n cheese was so cheesy and creamy with white cheddar from Wisconsin. The dill pickle was sour. The B&B pickles were sweet. I would love to try the beef brisket chili next time. The sauces here are definitely lacking. Only the spicy BBQ sauce was good and actually had a spice kick. The eastern carolina and white alabama are not even worth tasting imo. I tried placing the order using the qr code at the table and the site crashed so I tried to place the order at the register but they wouldn't let me. They insisted I should hand them my phone so they could "fix" it instead of just taking my order. I noticed the reviews for this spot were quite low but still wanted to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, this might be one of the worst BBQ spots I've been to. The ribs were extremely small, the brisket was very fatty, and the mac and cheese was watery. The cornbread also tasted like it was a day old and wasn't even warm. Cozy atmosphere, QR code system works flawlessly, the drinks come right away, and by the way, the IPA on draft is served in perfect chilled temperature. This is one of the best bbq spots in Marin. Their brisket is amazing and it falls apart and melts in your mouth. That is my go to meat to get. The Mac & chese is also good too. It is a nice little spot where you can sit at the bar, they have tables inside and outdoor seating. The waiters and staff are friendly and you can order from kiosk or online. I've been getting their salads here for a number of years. Always with brisket & ranch dressing. Yesterday was the last time because the quality has slid way downhill. The brisket was dry, the ranch dressing was watery & nearly tasteless. Plus you pay $1 for extra dressing now. I am surprised this place isn't rated much higher. Their food is amazing and there wasn't one thing I didn't like. We ordered the brisket (half fatty, half lean), sausage, cornbread, potato salad and beans. Everything was delicious! The meat is perfectly smoked and super tasty. Their bbq sauces are great too. The cornbread was perfect: perfectly sweetened and moist. The beans are made with Santa Maria beans and are savory and filling. The potato salad is my favorite side -- it's really well done. The only thing I wish is that they didn't sell their meat by the pound as it's difficult to gauge how much to order. My husband and I ordered a pound of brisket, 1 sausage and 3 sides and that was more than enough. We haven't tried their ribs or pulled pork, but we may in a future visit. It's interesting that the first time I came over I wasn't impressed but the second I came by I kinda enjoyed the food here. The place is in a mall so parking shouldn't be difficult. It's easy to make a reservation online but there is probably not a need to as I havent found it difficult to get seating. Most of the people ordered to go so there is usually some seating available. The seating at the patio seems to be more popular but because the location can get really hot I prefer it indoors. The people working here are usually really young and they do try their best and I'm impressed that they cleaned up without feeling grossed out by the leftover food. I really enjoyed the ribs and the sauces are great. The sausages are not bad either but I think pork ribs are the best chicken on the menu. It can be a little dry without the sauce but that's why the sauces are available. Although they charge for sauces when you order to go but you can ask for sauce when you take leftovers after dining in. I like the vibe of the restaurant even though it doesn't seem like a good fit for the decor of the overall shopping center. Upon completion and not more than 5 minutes later, we had our drinks. I dare say that our meals arrived no more than a lapse of 10 more minutes. I wanted to throw a reception for my daughter and new husband, and they love barbecue, especially her husband coming from Texas. I had heard about Pig In A Pickle and thought let's give it a try and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I had it catered by them and when I called spoke with Mari, such a delightful person and so very helpful not overselling just providing helpful information for the group I was having. I went ahead and went with the setup and for a server to stay to help and it ended up that it was Mari who was the one that came. She setup the buffet up perfectly, and she is such a delightful person, going above and beyond helping to keep things cleaned up and tidy. She helped pack up the food at the end and again I couldn't have been more pleased with not only the food which was absolutely delicious, but with the service that was given for this occasion. It was a big hit everybody loved everything and I fully recommend them if you wanna go and eat there or or if you're having an event that you need catered, they are fantastic. The ribs were amazing, falling off the bone when you bit into them, brisket had that great bark and the sauces were awesome. I had the brisket and ribs. Brisket was dry and in need of salt. Ribs were smokey and dry. I honestly expected more given their location and unique food choice. My family loves Pig in a Pickle, we've been eating here since they opened. They have the best bbq in Marin by a landslide (also the best mac n cheese). We enjoy the ribs, brisket, hot links, mac n cheese, chili, cornbread with honey butter and all of their specials are incredible! They also have a great selection of rotating beers on top and a fun bar scene. All staff members are friendly and helpful. Oh and their SAUCES - AMAZING! Not sweet, homemade, the spicy bbq sauce is actually spicy when so many others are not, and do not miss out on the Alabama white sauce. It is delicious and I've never seen it at any other bbq restaurant. We are fortunate to have Pig in a Pickle and look forward to dining here for years to come! read more

It wasn't working though so we had to order inside. The food came out very quickly and it was really good. We ordered mac n cheese, small coleslaw, chili and collard greens for side, listed in order of ranking. For meats we did pulled pork, a sausage link and some sliced brisket. All the meats were really good. We all enjoyed trying the different sauces. Oh, and we all ordered a corn bread muffin, but we could have each split one. It was very expensive for the group so I might just come back on a date. But we all left very full and with leftovers so we did get our money's worth. I tried their baby back ribs and was quite pleased with my decision. I believe they had a slight dry rub and no question, they were smoked. Tender and delicious. Not to mention their house sauce which was sweet, tangy and a great compliment to the meat.
