Came here after work with a coworker on a random weekday and was pleasantly surprised. The name looked familiar but I haven't been before this time. Spot was huge! Lots of seating inside as well as outside. It was a nice day but a little too warm so we opted to sit inside. You have to order at the counter/register before you find your seat. We ordered the falafel salad and the poke tacos to share. Completely forgot to take photos which is not like me but both were really good. Salad was a big portion, came with lettuce, beets, chickpeas, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, quinoa, feta, hummus, the falafel of course and a tahini dressing. Super refreshing. I'd order it again. Everything paired well together. The poke tacos order came with 3. The spicy mayo was a nice touch. Again, would order this again. For our drinks, i ordered a Paloma and my friend got a margarita. Drinks were refreshing. Not that strong but still good. Even though you have to order up front, they have someone coming to clean the tables and he even came while we were still sitting down, which was nice. Staff was friendly and pleasant! Will definitely be coming back to try other things. They have a lot of things to choose from, plenty of drinks (both alcoholic and non), as well as desserts! Very large space, modern design, clean, easily accessible, adequate service. A nice variety on the MENU and a COOL backbar with wine and beer, sporting events behind the bar on two screens. I had the veggie burger with cheese (MEH) adequate but overpriced by at least $3.00. Nice environment here at the refreshed Bon Air Plaza in Marin County but maybe a little bit bigger than it needs to be? I'll come here again but I wish I had a burrito which was my original goal, but I missed the turn. This looks like a great place to bring your family with little children, etc. I usually have a lot more to say, but frankly, there is not much to add. read more

Good, not great. That sums up the new Gott's at Bon Air Center. I'm a fan of the chain and have hit the Walnut Creek and Napa spots, so when this one opened in Greenbrae I had to check it out. It delivers the Gott's you know, but nothing here pushed past solid. We got an Impossible Burger, a cheeseburger, fries, and the veggies with hummus. The cheeseburger was the standout, classic griddled patty, melted cheese, lettuce and pickle on a soft bun. Tasted good. Not Shake Shack good, but good. The fries were fine. The veggies with hummus felt thin for what you pay. For two people at lunch this added up faster than expected, on par with the other locations but still pricey for what lands on the tray. Ordering was smooth and the service was great. Food came out fast. The space is bigger than you'd think, with indoor and outdoor seating under umbrellas, and we had no trouble grabbing a table inside even with a crowd. It stays clean, and it's not as loud as you'd expect given all the kids and open layout. Beer, wine, and drinks are on offer, and there's a full bar area with TVs running soccer. Parking is easy since it sits in a large center, but watch yourself. People walk right in front of moving cars like the lot belongs to them. ADA spots are up front. Fun place to eat and people-watch. I'd come back if I were in the area, but Bon Air has a lot of other choices, so look around before you commit. read more

I stopped by today because I was shopping at the mall. I ordered the CA turkey burger. It was a huge letdown for $20. The patty was overcooked and they forgot to add the bacon. It was pretty slow for a Sunday, so it wasn't like they were slammed with orders. Honestly, you're better off at In & out or Shake Shack. We've been to this location plenty of times and have never had a problem.. until today... The only reason to come is really the large open space inside as well as outside. Lots of seating and so nice during the summertime when the weather is nice and hot. There's a small playground in front and even a large fire pit that I imagine would be lit up during cold nights (I haven't actually seen this myself). It's a great spot to hangout with your kids, family, friends, and animals! Plus there is also a few dessert places next door! My child loves the plain cheeseburger on Gluten-Free bun. The impossible nuggets and the roasted brussel sprouts are what I usually order. Today those impossible nuggets became the impossible to ever eat again for me. When I got my order I thought "wow that's weird these look really oily today..." as I marveled at the extra shininess of these nuggets. I sat down and ate one anyway because I was pretty hungry. And then.... after a couple of chomps... I looked down into the container and felt my hunger instantly replaced by disgust and the desire to eat completely disappeared. Hanging out with my friends who live in Marin, they recommended we all take our pups here for a dog-friendly no-frills meal. I've been to Gott's at the Ferry Building, but this was my first time trying their other locations. Overall, good food and service, nothing particularly memorable. The restaurant is unassumingly huge! It is extremely open and spacious with plenty of seating for all party sizes plus a bar. The menu is extensive and displayed on giant screens. You order at the front with the workers and wait for your buzzer to go off. There's a section for ordering and picking up food, and all condiments and utensils are self-serve throughout the restaurant. If you want their soft serve, they have a tablet you can order and pay at. We chose to sit outside with our pups and there was plenty of spacious seating in the plaza. My friend recommended the Vietnamese Chicken Salad. I love salads and am a sucker for a chicken one so I opted for that. No complaints, tastes as listed! The salad was fresh, filling, and well-balanced. It was a giant portion and I could only eat half. My friends enjoyed their meals and everything they ordered looked good! If you live in this part of Marin, Gott's Roadside is a great option for a fast, casual, and decent meal. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat it but it's a nice spot in Bon Air. The fries and onion rings were pretty good, the rings were not real crunchy so I would order them again. Gotts sits in that awkward middle lane of the burger world. On one end you've got the "barely a burger" crowd (looking at you, McDonald's). Then there's the sweet spot -- In-N-Out and Shake Shack. And then way up the ladder are the steakhouse burgers with giant beefy patties and ridiculous toppings like truffle, bone marrow, and whatever else the chef felt fancy about that day. Gotts charges closer to the fancy end -- easily triple the price of In-N-Out -- but the burger itself lands right around the middle. The patty quality feels about the same. In-N-Out still wins on the flame-broiled flavor. Shake Shack wins on the buttery bun and better toppings. And Gotts? Somehow slower than both. Not terrible. Just not compelling enough to justify the price when cheaper burgers taste just as good. Solidly average. 3 stars. read more

I like it here because it's not just burgers. They have a few sandwiches, a few salads, ahi tacos, and burgers. Their fries are great. We usually get the ahi tacos. I'm a big fan of the chicken sandwich and, at times, the fries (it depends on how quickly they get cold, but they're still decent). On a Saturday evening in mid May, my family came here for dinner. It was hard to find parking at 5:40pm so we circled around the plaza. It's located next to Susie cupcakes and the line was long to order. There was so many little kids eating with their families. Lucky my brother found a table in the corner. I have only ever been to the Chase Center location in San Francisco, and every time I've gone there the food has been on point. The bun is moist and not dry, the fries are crispy, and the burger patty is seasoned and not dry. This experience at this location was the complete opposite. I ordered a gluten-free turkey burger and asked them to put ALLERGY in the notes. When I went to pick up my order, it was on a regular bun. I told them to remake it. The manager looked at the receipt, apologized, and remade it. That added another 10 minutes, and it took 30 minutes total just to get one burger. When I took a bite, the gluten-free bun was extremely dry. I removed the bun and ate the patty only...which was also dry and unseasoned. The fries were wrong too, they were overcooked and too crispy. The ranch was heavy on dill to the point it was unpleasant. Huge chunks of dill. More dill than ranch sauce. The manager gave me a gift card, which was fine. But here's where it took a turn: I have been throwing up and in the bathroom since last night and still today. At this point, I'm asking myself questions I shouldn't have to ask after eating somewhere...was my food handled safely? Did my patty get dropped on the floor? I will not be using the gift card at this location. I will never return to this location. I appreciate the gift card. I do not appreciate the food poisoning. read more

Got the Cal Chicken and the Chili today. The Cal Chicken was overcooked (dry) and the avocado was miniscule. Not good. We've driven by this restaurant several times, and it is always packed! When we walked in, I was shocked at how large the establishment was and didn't realize they had a bar inside. My BF and I reached ordered a burger and split some garlic fries. The burgers and fries were great. I wish I could give half stars, because my true rating would be 2.5. & the reason for the lower review, is because of our second transaction. I wanted to try their ice cream, as almost everyone at the establishment was eating a cone, cup, or sundae. I typically don't buy ice cream out, since I can just get it at the store and eat a pint at home. But I placed my order and walked over to the pickup line. This couldn't take more than 5 minutes in my mind. I handed my ticket to the manager, and he walked in the back and I watched him just set the ticket down. As soon as I saw this, I knew he was going to forget about me. He of course then walked away and was preoccupied in conversation with the bartender. Another young kid (you could tell he was new) asked me if I was waiting for something (again - no line, 2 to-go orders waiting). I explained to him I was waiting for an ice cream. He was confused, because tickets are usually handed to someone and then it is their responsibility to get the ice cream (the manager). Another woman walked up and asked the same question - I repeated myself. & by this time the young man walked back out and asked - "did you give your ticket to someone?" I told him who I gave it to, and the manager walked over and started getting really rude with the young man. Saying he lost it and he asked him to do it. AGAIN - I will repeat, I watched this whole scenario with my BF and two people standing next to me - we all shook our heads in disagreement and I said, "no - you didn't. You walked to the back and just placed my ticket down without saying anything to anyone." He pulled the young man to the back and spoke with him. He came out scared and embarrassed and asked what I ordered. I told him, and unfortunately was given the wrong item. I couldn't see who actually made it since they were both around the corner. I usually wouldn't care, but for $6, I wanted the right ice cream. I turned around and returned the ice cream to him, and he immediately made the right one and we left. I don't like watching managers blame other people for their mistakes. It's one thing if the young employee took my ticket and forgot it, but he didn't. The manager took my ticket and walked away. The food was good, but this situation made me really uncomfortable. Even other customers were shocked at the rudeness of the manager. I heard someone say "he's just a kid." Can't say I'll be back. But this was one situation & their food is tasty. There are just other burger joints around I would prefer to support who treat their staff like family. read more

I think one of its major strengths is that it is a popular meet-up spot, and it is reliably busy on the weekends and bustling with people and families. I have never been incredibly impressed with their food- and it is pretty pricey for what you get, and for fast casual style food. I eat here all the time, always sit at the bar and get excellent service from Leo and Alec, and have my favorite dishes, but I was very disappointed in the avocado tacos. They were tasty after I added the accompanying pickled onions, lime juice, and hot sauce from the condiments bar, but they should be called cabbage tacos with an avocado garnish. There wasn't even a third of an avocado used in all three tacos. One tiny piece per taco on a huge bed of cabbage. I had to scoop out a lot of the cabbage to get my mouth around one of them. Out of curiosity I counted bites it took for one taco. Out of the 13 bites, 3 had avocado. That is unacceptable. I recommend the Brussels sprouts well done and I love the sweet potato fries with a side of cheese sauce. Until they improve the tacos I will not order them again. read more

They have a wide variety of food selections-- salads, sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, shakes, sundaes, and drinks! They have multiple Locations and their dining area is huge and accommodating! My all time favorite is the Vietnamese chicken salad, it's like a vermicelli bowl but in salad form. My nephews love their cheeseburgers and hot dogs, we always get a side of sweet potato fries (they have a spicy touch to it) and garlic fries with ranch. My brother got the avocado tacos and my sister in law got another sandwich. We always end up getting a shake, Sundae, or ice cream for the kids and ourselves. They also serve beer and wine, and kombucha! Parking here at this location is easy as it's in a shopping plaza. read more

Your Special Softshell Crab Sandwich was truly and HUGE disappointment. It was over-loaded with coleslaw and the softshell crab was very small. I am a big fan of this type of crab and it is my belief that it was cut in half. It was also overly spiced with I think was Old Bay Seasoning with too much paprika. I'm starting to think that the burgers at Gott's are the worst part of their menu - I tried their falafel salad this past visit and I loved all the contrasting textures and layers of flavor. Everything tasted very fresh and light, and the falafel were better than I expected. The ahi tuna tacos reminded me of ahi nachos, since the taco shell was essentially like a deep fried wonton. The sriracha mayo sauce and slaw added nice flavor and freshness to the ahi. The fish itself was diced into smaller cubes than you find in poke and it tasted fresh as well, no fishy smell or flavor. I tried the impossible burger my boyfriend got and the patty was disappointingly mushy. I think all vegetarian patties need to be cooked long enough on both sides to get a crust that adds much needed texture, otherwise the whole burger is just soft. I've also had their hotdog here, which I liked way more than the burger. The hotdog is snappy and grilled to the perfect amount of char, with the bun toasted to golden brown on the sides. I can't remember the last time I had a hotdog that was not from Costco, but this showed me a whole new world. Topped with ketchup, mustard, and relish, this hotdog is the perfect grown-up version of a childhood favorite with better ingredients and method of cooking. Every time I've eaten here, the burgers have been my least favorite part, but the fries, salad, and other sandwiches (is a hotdog a sandwich?) have been really good. Each month there are specials which make decision making much more difficult. As you walk in, the large menu is on the wall and paper menus are also available. Order your food at the counter, they had you drinks, and you head to a free table with your buzzer. I really loved sipping on my frozé (boozy lemonade) and listening to music. It was a lovely summer vibe. *Buzz* is the sound. Swap the buzzer for your tasty meal. The citrus and avocado chop ($14.99) comes with chicken. It was in the description but I missed it. I'm sure they would skip it if asked. Be sure to read the menu well if you have dietary restrictions. Vegan/veg/gf items are not laid out easily. Get the corn on the cob! It was charred and had lovely Mexican elote flavors. At $6.99, it's a little over priced but I know you've paid more for worse. The spicy tomato soup cup ($4.99) was also delicious. It was a small cup but I enjoyed every bite. It had a nice kick of spice. The avocado tacos ($11.99) were okay. I liked the blue corn tortilla and the slaw. The fried avocado tasted flat to me. It's a small chain with a handful of locations in the Bay Area. There's a variety of seating in the large indoor space (not cramped together), a ton of outdoor seating wrapping around a firepit and landscaping. Free shopping center parking. I stopped by for the first time on a recent Monday afternoon. Inside was quiet, only a few bar seats taken, but most of the outdoor seating was filled. Also surprisingly, fairly priced for this market. Highly recommended, I'll stop by again the next time I visit and need a quality savory meal in a hurry. read more
