OJ's is a great place to come for wing night. We love the honey garlic wings, hot wings, and salt and pepper wings. They are crispy and delicious even with the sauce on them. There are so many places doing wings but OJ's does them right. The parmasean chips are also a favourite here. I highly recommend those because the dipping sauce they come with is delicious!!! I always like to order my favourite beer to go with my wing special, Trash Panda IPA which is on tap here and so crisp and refreshing with the flavours of all the wings and chips. Our service has always been excellent here. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. They are attentive and just do a great job. Highly recommend this place to watch the game and grab some crispy wings. read more

Original Joe's is a wonderful smaller chain that started in Calgary. It has grown based on is merits of treating customers as friends. This location had been honouring that tradition for years. From the moment you walk in the door either a server or the bartender welcomes you in and invites you to grab a seat wherever you like and they will be right with you. Waters are served right away with a great smile and they have great features each day. The thing that sets this location apart is the absolutely amazing staff. The manager, Sarah, has instilled such a wonderful and open culture from wall to wall that you cannot help but feel welcome. The staff are always happy to see you and it shows to be true! Once you have your rapport going with them it's so easy to get that conversation going and talk about the day, life, sports, your favourite movies, and soon you feel like you are old friends. One thing I love about Original Joe's is that they list their nutritional information online which can help me make better decisions before getting to the restaurant and succumbing to all the temptations! When I visited here, I had the pita wrap which was remarkably delicious. I also had salad (they no longer have the vinegrette I saw online which was disappointing -- I wish restaurants were better at updating their website menus) and broccolini (I wish broccolini wasn't an up-charge, but it's yummy so it's worth the extra money. Our group had reserved a whole section of the restaurant/bar and we had a great time on the whole! I wish that the restrooms were better labeled but this was my first visit to this location so that will be remedied in future visits. Least favourite OJs I've been to. Staff was incredible, absolutely no complaint with that whatsoever. The food however, was lacklustre. I got my usual (club wrap), which I've gotten at OJs almost exclusively for years (other OJs). I was given a wrap that was about 70% of the size I usually get. After a long days work I needed to relax, I called my sister up and she wanted to meet at a OJ's location. Since I live by summerside and she's rarely on my side of the block I Recommended the OJ's on Elerslie. I read the reviews here and I was sure it would be a great place to check out. I told my sister 4:30pm to meet there she agreed, the traffic can get insane past 4:45 - 5pm. I got there first around 4:45pm and the place was pretty empty with tons of parking out front. I decided on sitting on the side that had more of an open concept and a big window, the server came a few minutes after I settled in. the special was 1/2 off bottles of wine! That sounds like a great deal but I had my heart set on mojitos so I ordered a gin cucumber mojito minus the sugar. Looking around I noticed that this OJ location was a bit smaller than the others around the city but it was cleaner as well. I liked the seating plan, there were booths, tables and bar tables. Not overly stuffed and enough for breathing room. My drink arrived and it looked refreshing and tasted it too. Reminds me of sitting on a beach or on a balcony somewhere hot and to cool you off you drink this to refresh and liven up your senses. As I sit there waiting I start to notice the time... I swear my sister drives like molasses. Both servers came by and asked if I was ok, if I wanted an appetizer while I wait? I have a feeling that they are thinking I have been stood up on a date. Their looks of sympathetic eyes every time they pass by and asked if I would like another drink and of course I do lol. About an hour later ... My sister arrived (always late is not fashionable) and she ordered her usual aprikat beer and peach slush (that is one of my favorites when I go to OJ's too). We ordered our food right away, I decided on the sirloin steak salad, my sister got the tomato basil linguini and the hummus to share. I looked over at the entrance and holy moly the place was packed with ppl standing by the door waiting on seats! You know a place is good when... Our server came out with the hummus and yum! The flat bread was great topped off with this nontraditional hummus, the hummus was chunky and the dressing they had over it gave it a smoky flavor kind of like a steak almost. I forgot to take a pic of it because we just dove right in. Our mains came soon after and they looked pretty. My salad was great and the steak was cooked perfectly to how I want it, my sisters pasta came with prawns and looked delicious as well. We couldn't stop there so I ordered a crème Brule and my sister had the dirt pie (we both tend to over eat when alcohol is involved). Those came and were fantastic also! My sister and I enjoyed our visit to this OJ's, the drinks, the food and the atmosphere were all plus'. We intend to come back more often especially that I live so close by. read more

Stopped in for a Quinoa & mushroom burger with hubby. He had the kona burger. The kona burger was apparently fantastic as per hubby. My quinoa burger was ok too, not great but good. The service was better than other locations and I would go back and try something different. Overall: so-so. read more

I've been to a couple of these locations, this one is very close to home. Every now and again I meet up with friends for some snacks, an entree and drinks. Seating can be a bit of an issue if your coming in right around supper time but otherwise it's quite open. The servers are quick and quite on top of their game. I've never had any issues. The drinks are priced fairly in comparison to the other venues in the area. A couple of my favourite food items and must tries are the Kona burger-sub with a chicken breast and spicy mayo, that grilled cheese burger is pretty good, the L.A. Street dog, and the butter chicken bowl. It's a good place to hang out and have a couple drinks and food, also in the summer time the patio is a good hang out spot. Enjoy. read more

I went here again last night with a friend and my boyfriend and we had a great time. The server we had was a little slow, but was super friendly so that sort of made up for it. I ordered the salmon with a side of roasted veggies and a side salad. My friend ordered the chipotle quesadillas and my boyfriend ordered a burger with mashed potatoes and a salad. Our food took a while, but I was pretty hungry so maybe it seemed longer than it was. Our drinks took a while to be refilled, but like I said, she was busy. Our food came out, but my boyfriend's plate didn't have a burger on it. Our server explained that the cooks dropped his burger on the floor and it wouldn't be too long until he had his burger. Until then, he could enjoy his sides. I commend her honesty. We were all a little amused, so it was not a big deal. Once his burger did make it out , it was nice and juicy. We enjoyed the rest of our evening there and we all left satisfied. My new favourite? One of their house sauvingon blancs - its called Monkey Bay and it was one of the most crisp and refreshing wines I have ever had. I would definitely suggest it to any white wine lover! read more

Visited this OJs for a Friday lunch with co-workers. We called in advance hoping to be able to warn them that we'd be bringing a large group (they don't take reservations, of course). Although we arrived before the lunch rush, we were only able to grab 3 2-person tables. There were about 10 of us, so it was pretty cramped. No attempt was made to accommodate our group. Despite being there with about 9 people who were visibly of legal age, I was singled out to be ID'd and had forgot my ID back at work. My fault, sure, but it was frustrating nonetheless that I had to return to work to grab my ID. Our server seemed overwhelmed by the 10-person table even though we placed our orders before the lunch rush, and our food and drinks were a little slow to arrive. All of these combined to make it a fairly disappointing lunch outing. Definitely not my best OJs experience, and I'd be reluctant to return to this location for lunch. read more

Had not been to OJ's in a few years went for lunch to the ellerslie location today. I think since the last time I was at OJ's the prices went up a bit but the food was fantastic. I had a steak sandwich it was delicious. I do not think I had a steak in a while at a restaurant that was cooked to perfection with many spices. We also had a great server who was on top of getting our meals out quick,drink refills and bringing the debit machine when we were about to all leave. Will have to go more often then once a year. read more

I'm not a big chain gal but I make an exception for Original Joe's. It is surprisingly good for a generic restaurant. They have some great deals (helllooooo 1/2 priced bottles of wine on Thursdays!) and they're surprisingly accommodating for vegetarians and those who eat gluten-free compared to most chains. Pro-tip: ask for the secret veg/GF menu. They take all the things that can be made veg/GF on their menu and put it all in one place. The food was good as usual. I'm a huge fan of their vegetarian tacos. I'm not sure what kind of soy protein they use but the texture and taste is really good. The service at this particular location was fairly slow the day I stopped. They were very busy but it appeared that our server was manning the bar on top of helping her tables. She was running back and forth the entire time so the slowness definitely wasn't her fault. I would definitely come back to this location but not when I have a time crunch on my lunch break. read more

I am very happy with the service at original Joe's, on their wing night, it was quite busy but they still had time to quickly clean off table and have us seated in no time, they were able to take our orders and have it out without us sitting there wondering if they forgot about us. The lady that served us came by often enough to get us refills on our drinks, and was very pleasant to deal with. To talk about their food, somehow they were able to make it taste better than any other original Joe's I've been to. I highly recommend the Greek wings. Both me and my friends were happy to give a well deserved tip to our waitress. My wife and I have been here about 10 times and each time has been a positive experience. Plenty of room and seating is comfortable. Good service and beer selection. Fish and chips are good with a nice size filet and plenty of fries. The grilled cheeseburger is also good. We are obviously repeat customers. The OJ's menu is almost identical to the State and Main menu. I would have thought that the owners would try and be a bit more creative with their menus to provide some variety! read more

It's been a long time since I've been to this location. I'm glad I came back. The place was half full for the lunch rush when I was expecting it to be packed - super happy we got a table quickly. Our server was fantastic and friendly. I got the chicken Cesar wrap for the very first time ever and it was great. Had the perfect ratio of lettuce - chicken and the right amount of Cesar dressing and bacon bits. Most of the time when you eat here you leave super stuffed. Every OJ's I go to, I'm always impressed with the friendly and efficient staff, and great selection of drinks and above-average pub food. It's a great atmosphere for both groups and dates, not too noisy, lots of TV's and it's nice and clean. Lots of parking at this south location. read more

My husband and I had dinner here last night, and were overall pretty happy. First thing to note is that you seat yourself. There really isn't much of a sign saying so. I enjoyed the spicy chicken ceaser wrap, they had decent cheap beer on tap, and the service was pretty good. Nothing to complain about. We will be back. read more

This place was a staple for us when we lived on the southside, and whenever we get a chance to go back to this location, we take it. The one where we live now just doesn't compare. On our last trip, the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive, the food came out quickly was was just the way we ordered it, and she was fast with the bill. I don't think we've had any issues with this location (and if we have, they've always been resolved without question.) It's kind of tucked back out of the way on Ellerslie, but it's still a nice central location for the Summerside area. For us, living in the Newcastle area now, it's worth the 25 minute drive to this location every once in a while. read more

Always love an OJ's! I recently headed to Original Joe's in Ellerslie for a Sunday birthday brunch. It was a lovely brunch option out in Ellerslie where we could have an extended catch up. I had the banana bread french toast which was quite decadent. A bit much for brunch! It also came with roasted potatoes on the side. That was one of the only vegetarian brunch options; therefore, I would probably grab a dish off the lunch menu next time. OJ's is great for groups, whether small or large. I have been to this location for larger dinner gatherings and have always been happy with the table size and excellent service. read more

Service was just okay. The food I had though was not good at all. I had the fish and chips and the whole plate was so greasy. The there was barely any fish underneath all the batter and the dill dip I had with the fries was pretty tasteless. Overall, I paid almost $20 to have a tiny bit of fish, lots of batter, and about 70% of my plate as fries. If grease and mediocre fries are your thing, I highly recommend the fish and chips. read more

I like Original Joe's, I have even like THIS Original Joe's But last night they served up one of the worst restaurant meals I have had in my life. It was made worse when I told our server how bad it was and she indicated she "kinda knew" that dish was bad and usually made suggestions for alternative but didn't in my case. I wasn't mis behaving or being loud, I was having a nice dinner with my daughter. Bottom line, do NOT order the Turkey Club Wrap. Finding Turkey in that dish is like finding beef in a restaurant called Vegan Delight. What I did find, very tiny bits were awful looking things that could have been organ bits. If you like Lettuce and tiny shards of yesterdays' bacon, help yourself. read more

I'm away from E-town for a couple months, and my husband and I are surprised that Origional Joes is one of the main things we're missing. We go to this location often - usually 3 -6 times a month. Enough that the waitresses recognize us. We like that we can get raw veggies and salad as sides. These healthy choices make us feel less bad about our special appreciation for their honey brown beer. We keep trying others, but it's definately our favorite, especially when we happen to come in when it's on special. Everyone is friendly and 9 times out of 10 we get excellent service. One of my favourite pub chains. Some of the best specials in the industry, including wings on Tuesday and wine on Thursday. Their draft beer is excellently priced and the menu items offer great value with two side dishes. After just recently moving to the south side, I imagine I'll make a regular of myself at this location in no time. read more

Went to Ellerslie Original Joes for lunch. One of our appetizers got dumped onto my husbands beer, which dumped all over me. I had beer inside my boot. The manager never came by to apologize. Then the bill came and they did not comp a thing or give any discount. It was the full bill. My husband said are you kidding me, the waitress said oh we are going to give you $10 off your next visit. With that awful experience I don't ever want to go back and can't believe there was no consideration of the fact I ate my meal completely soaked in beer. Terrible service!
