    Steak and Sausage Rigatoni

A SJ iconic joint featuring some delicious bites this side of the East coast. Feels like you stepped back in time to some old school eatery in NYC in the 50s. The service was prompt and our server was not only patient but super awesome! My bambino burger while delicious and charbroiled lacked seasoning by like a lot and didn't come with any lettuce or fixings and it lacked flavor like mayo or something but meat was cooked to order and the fries were delicious. My husband's dish was so yummy and had some spice which with the fennel from the sausage made for a tasty bite. The garlic bread (not featured) was a bit meh and the calamari was delicious (not pictured) but a bit small for the price. Why the 3 stars: minus 1 star for difficult parking options, there's a few but all were not easy to get to the one across the street fills up so you gotta circle around. Minus 1 star for loud... we had to shout to hear one another lol but who needs to converse when you're there to eat? If my food burger had some seasoning, garnishes or sauce to add flavor I would have pardoned the loud part. They have a full bar but also non alcoholic options, we see why they survived many changes in this area and hope the continue to do so... just please season your burgers!

Second time to this specific branch and for whatever reason, I feel like the Walnut Creek one is better (the two branches have the same name but are not affiliated...it's like a sister branch type of thing). Anyways, we came in during Fanime weekend and got here relatively early so the wait wasn't too bad. Around 20 minutes or so. The waiter was nice and we ordered our food fairly quickly. I got the steak and sausage pasta, a side of mushrooms, and my husband had the chicken parmesan. It's good, but it's I suppose nothing to write home about. It's like your usual American Italian fare. The side of mushrooms was more bland than what I would've liked it to be. The pasta was fine, the steak itself was thoroughly cooked for better or worse. Better for me currently since I'm pregnant. But on a normal situation, something more tender would've been nice. The restaurant however is...loud...and I mean really loud. Because of the restaurant's anniversary, they had live music and it made conversing difficult. And with everyone trying to talk over the music, well, you could probably see where this goes. Would I come back? Maybe? It's a good choice during Fanime. But I wouldn't be going out of my way for it.

It has been a minute since we enjoyed a meal at OJ's and it brought back memories of wonderful meals and special occasions there. Our waiter was professional and efficient. Our meals were as delicious as we remembered. My husband won't order Veal Sec anywhere else! My halibut and side of ravioli were delicious. Bread is now at an extra cost--$5-but an important part of what makes Original Joe's a legacy in dining. I wish it was open for lunch on weekends, at least--seating now begins at 4pm daily. Reminiscent of Rat Pack dining, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It's truly a special dining experience in Downtown San Jose!

Cool, old, historic vibe. Big open dining room. Place was packed on a weekday night. Waiter was awesome. Kept a funny, light attitude on a busy night. Service didn't suffer because of it either. Had to try the chicken parm. Portion was large with two chicken breast. Good flavor and cheesy sauce. Comes with a choice of side and I selected the ravioli. I'd eat the chicken parm again but would choose a different side. Ravioli wasn't anything special. Would repeat.

Came here on a Friday night and called ahead to put my name down. They told me the wait would be 30-45 minutes, so I arrived about 30 minutes later, but my name still hadn't been called. I ended up waiting about 50 minutes after arriving before being seated. Once we ordered, it took another 45 minutes for the food to come out. I got the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti, and my friend ordered the veal parmigiana with spaghetti on the side. It tasted like your typical parmigiana which was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Also got the chocolate eruption cake. It was around $14-$15 which tasted okay. Overall, I'm not sure it lived up to the hype, at least in my opinion, and I probably wouldn't come back.

This was my first time at Original Joe's in San Jose, and it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I made a reservation for 7:00 PM, but we weren't seated until 7:50 PM. We were told it was because a table had been sitting there since 5:00 PM and the server hadn't cleared it out. At some point, restaurants need to normalize asking guests to leave when they've clearly finished and are just loitering--especially when there are reservations waiting. I had a comedy show to get to at 9:15 PM, so I specifically made a 7:00 PM reservation expecting we'd have plenty of time to eat. Instead, it was already 8:30 PM and we still hadn't received our food. For a place that requires reservations, the timing and coordination were extremely disappointing. I ordered the baked lasagna. It was alright, but nothing memorable, and I couldn't even finish it because we were so pressed for time. To make things worse, it was also my friend's birthday, and I felt bad that he had to spend it sitting around waiting so long just to eat. Overall, the long wait, poor table management, and rushed meal completely overshadowed the experience. Not a great first impression, and unfortunately not a place I'd rush back to. I prefer the Daly City location much more.

I went on a Saturday evening around 6 and ommg was it crowded! I didn't have a reservation, but thankfully there was seating at the bar! Which I think is so much fun since you get to watch all the cooks! This was my first time going and overall had a great experience. I got Joes chicken soup which was flavorful and loaded w chicken and veggies. The Cobb salad was huge and delish, I had to take it home. My friend got the chicken parm w the baked potato and loved it. Also got a Christmas cookie martini. Wait staff were so friendly and for it being so busy, we didn't have to wait too long for anything. Travis was our waiter and so great. Overall, I would definitely be back!

Loved the look of this place from the outside,& just had to try it. It looks like it has hardly changed in decades, and I love that. It has real character. When we went in, the host told us there would be a 20-minute wait for a table, or we were welcome to sit up at the counter. So glad we did, it was a real old-school experience, and we saw up close just how hard and non-stop the Joe's staff work! We had the delicious bread& butter while we waited on our entrees... chicken piccata for him, and a spring salad with broiled chicken for me. Both were delicious, as were the sides. I'd definitely go back if I was in San Jose again

I loved the food, old time vibe & service. This place has been here since the mid 50's and has remained a solid dining spot though all the ups and downs of San Jose. Added our name to the wait-list as we started our hour drive from home. Busy for a Sunday night at 5pm. Calimari Steak for me (2) lightly battered, pounded cakes with a coleslaw like tartar sauce, delicious. Garlic bread with soo much garlic, I'm glad all four of us shared it. Mixed vegetables, cauliflower, beans, zucchini, steamed, light butter sauce a good match to entries. Chicken Piccata, generous amount of chicken breast (can be ordered bone in) tender, light sauce, plenty to share. Rock Salad, subbed crab for the shrimp, avocado,1000 island, soo good. Prime Rib. Flintstones size serving, cooked perfectly, leftovers for sure. Reminded me of my parents bringing us out to Bay Area classic restaurant's,now gone like Spengers in Berkeley. Service was quick and attentive but let us enjoy the meal unrushed. Seating at the counter allows you to watch the chef's at work. Big menu worth returning numerous times.

Food was the biggest fail of my rating. Ravioli was so plain. Chef boyardee makes better ravioli than this. The chicken parm was really plain, not very warm. The server was nice but didn't bring any bread. Very disappointed. Go to Morton's across the street instead.

We ordered two Pollo Saltimbocca dishes (one with a cream pasta substitution for an additional $8), the Pollo al Limone, and a half bottle of Chardonnay. The restaurant offers one indoor dining area and two outdoor seating areas--one in the front and one in the back--which gives guests plenty of seating options. The food was a bit saltier than our personal preference. The cream pasta substitution, despite the extra charge, wasn't anything particularly memorable compared to similar dishes we've had at other restaurants. However, the highlight of our visit was definitely the warm and welcoming customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel appreciated. We also appreciate that the restaurant closes for a few hours in the afternoon before reopening for dinner service. It's nice to see a business that gives its staff a break during the day. Parking can be a bit challenging due to the busy neighborhood. Be aware that street parking is paid, and most spots have a two-hour limit, so you'll need to keep an eye on the time. Overall, we'd come back to try more of the pasta dishes on the menu and hope to discover a new favorite.

I made a reservation for a Thursday evening, and even though it's right in the heart of downtown, we were lucky and managed to find street parking in front of the restaurant with free EV charging! Right when we stepped in, the interior is decked out in a modern art deco style. Vibrant & fun colors while still maintained a sosphiscated touch. After a few recommendations from our server, we decided to try: Mushroom Arancini (10/10): These are amazing, as soon as they brought it out, we can both instantly smelled the truffle oil. The exterior were crispy & pipping hot, the inside has creamy mushroom. It was certain my favorite of the night! Rigatoni alla Vodka (8/10): A solid pasta! The sauce was great and balanced. There was a good amount of sauce that coated in the pasta. The pasta itself was perfectly al dente! This is a staple dish but I felt like it might lack an interesting flair. Stuffed Branzino (8/10): Another solid dish! The whole were already debone which made it so much easier and fussed free. We started with the garlic bread for appetizers. It was well presented but I think it would've been well paired with some sort of dipping sauce because it was a little dry. My boyfriend ordered the thousand layer lasagna and really enjoyed it. I ordered the rigatoni and thought it was just okay. I didn't realize the dish didn't come with protein so it felt like the dish was missing something. The sauce itself was nice but for some reason, some of the pasta was undercooked and some of it was al dente. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate pudding and tiramisu. The presentation was so beautiful. Both my boyfriend and I loved the pudding most -- I would definitely order this again. The tiramisu wasn't bad but it would've been better if it had a stronger coffee taste and if it was a little more moist. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and definitely made our visit feel special. She paid attention to the small details like helping us label our boxes, which I've never had anyone do before. On a completely unrelated note, I was surprised to find the bathrooms are shared between both genders. While there are separate stalls, the sink area is shared, which I wasn't expecting for a nicer restaurant like this. But I would say overall the food was hit or miss but the service and experience overall was amazing:)

The food looked good, but my date and I didn't get a chance to try it. I live in the area and have always seen this place when going past. It looked cool and since it had such great yelp review, I thought tonight would be a good time to try it out. Just got out from a comedy show and we arrived at 9:10pm - it says they close at 10pm so we should be ok right? We only wanted to stop in, get a drink or two, and maybe 1-2 apps. After being greeted by the host, who was very nice, we told her that we just wanted to sit at the bar and get a drink and maybe a couple apps. She said "great!" with a big smile and led us there. While being led there I noted that the place had really cool decor and lighting, felt very cozy and italian. This is where it switched from a nice experience into a really quite bad one. As soon as we sat at the bar we felt unwelcome. There was a bartender there, middle-aged man with glasses and longish shaggy black hair that immediately gave us a "mean mug" type look. "That's strange..." I thought to myself. He did not greet us and seemed pre-occupied with closing the bar, wrapping up the beer spigots etc. The vibe was totally off, we are unwanted it seems. We sat there for maybe 1-2 minutes until he finally turned to us and said "Are you guys waiting for someone?" "We just want a menu" my date replied. "The restaurant is closed" he said, in quite a brusk and rude tone. I looked at my watch. It was 9:15pm. "But it says you guys close at 10pm, is that not the case?" I piped up. "No." he said, shaking his head. He turned his back to us. At this point I thought, lets go to a place that wants our money. I work with customers in my day job and would never be able to interact with a customer in the way he did. Honestly, if you're that way with customers I feel you're more suited to a warehouse job than you are working a bar. "We're not wanted here, lets leave" I said to my date. We got up and left. With people working like that working at their restaurant - save your money and go to some place else with good service. If the bar itself was closed, fine, offer us a table or something. Be nice about it. Instead we got quite rude (non)service. Again, the host was nice, keep her. But buyer beware - if you come during the last hour expect to be treated like you're unwanted garbage from unfriendly bartenders. Maybe update your hours if you "actually" close 50 minutes before it says you do?

To be honest, when I opened the menu, I thought the price was a bit on the high side, and didn't expect to like it in the "worth it" scale. But hey, for a higher price, they better deliver on the food quality! It most certainly disappoint. The food was amazing. Got the Linguini Fruti Di Mare, the seafood was good quality, the cioppino sauce was intense. It truly is the boss of the sauce. Also ordered the Chicken Marsala, I'm always cautious before ordering because the marsala wine can easily become overwhelming, or the sauce is too sour, or the chicken is tough and dry. I did not hit any of those, but rather, what I got was a few silky smooth and tender pieces of flattened chicken breasts, that is moist and flavorful. The sauce is great too, not to mention the mushroom, that is so fresh and flavorful on its own. Last but not least, their attention to detail went all the way to mashed potato and steamed vegetables. It was truly one of the best. Did I mention the free, fresh baked foccacia? It's among the top 3 I've had in any restaurants, ever. At the end, even it pinches my wallet a bit, it was well worth it. Come hungry, leave happy!

Now I get why Sorelle has such a high score, and I'm happy that we finally gave it a try…read more It's situated in a small strip mall, parking is ok as we came at around 6:30pm on a week day night, there were still some spots available. Sorelle is a small restaurant, upon entering, it has a square room and you get to see everything at one glance. It's not fancy on decorations, more like a neighborly place and the customers look like so too, families and large groups on a random day, you don't need to dress up to eat in this place. The 2 page menu has appetizers, salad, pizza, pasta, and 3 entree dishes. Desserts are printed on a separate sheet, there are a variety of choices but a tad too expensive for my wallet. We ordered the Ravioli a la Teresa with cheese and pesto cream sauce, and their signature Sorelle Short Rib Bolognese. After ordering, we were given free bread for the table. The bread had herbs on top and the dipping sauce is olive oil with fried and then mashed soft garlic. The bread looked nothing special, but once I touched it, I was delighted to find out that they were warm and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. It took a bit of wait for our food to came, I think it meant they were freshly cooked. The portions were big. Once laying down our food, the lady came with a big bowl of cheese and helped us sprinkle on top. It looks amazing with the cheese on top, like snow flakes melting on. I am so impressed with my short rib bolognese. The piece of short rib was sumptuous, a whole piece, resting on top of the pasta that is covered in meat sauce. The meat itself was so soft that it was super easy to tear off and just melts in my mouth. Flavorful and soft and juicy, super yummy! The pasta is cooked el dente, and each bite there's a bit of ground meat coated on the ziti pasta from the bolognese sauce. Very satisfying! I had a bite of the ravioli and these huge dumplings are covered in fresh pesto sauce and very cheesy inside. Although I was a bit confused on the difference between a pesto sauce and a pesto cream. I felt like the sauce was more pesto but we ordered pesto cream. Anyhow, it tasted good but I prefer my short rib bolognese more. Bus boy service is fast and responsive. We had a very enjoyable meal.

Small parking lot but there is plenty street parking in the vicinity. There is seating right outside the place so if you want to sit and eat you can. You walk in and it feels and smells like you've stepped into someone's home. Even if this is your first time here the aroma is nostalgic for some reason. I think it's muscle memory. When you've had delicious comfort food your soul senses it regardless of whether or not you've been there. I ordered Doordash pick up because I was ordered on a Thursday for lunch and didn't know what the line would look like. So I walked right in and gave my name and was handed my bag-o-goodies. They have shelves of dry goods to purchase. Refrigerated items to purchase. Their deli counter is towards the back and wraps around the front. I ordered: 1. 2 meatballs: hearty and delicious. 2. Beef raviolis: small but packed with meat and in their meat sauce. Flavorfull! 3. Arancini: I've never tried one. It's a rice ball filled with veggies, cheese and ground meat. Then rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Then served with their sauce. Holy Moly!!! Why have I never had this heavenly piece of Italy?!?!?! Seasoned well and fried well. It's a meal in it of itself! 4. Garlic bread: hot, buttery, garlicky toasted goodness! The only thing I finished was the arancini. I took a bite of each of the rest just so I could write this review and will save for my sons for when I get home because it's all too good not to be shared. Will be back!

The carbonara was amazing--served super hot with great flavor and a solid amount of meat. Easily a 10/10. One tip though: eat it while it's hot, because once it cools down, it's not quite the same. The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? This didn't have that at all. Another 10/10. The pesto pasta (a special that day) was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too oily, and the pesto flavor didn't really come through. They added ricotta, which kind of overpowered everything else. I did like the portion and the amount of meat, but overall I'd give it a 7/10. The ambiance was decent--nothing too special, but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. It felt like a family-run place--three brothers along with their wives and kids--and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. The portions and quality justify the price, and it stands out as one of the better Italian spots in the Bay Area.

Once the food arrived there was no follow up. We had to flag another server down for some condiments I really wanted to like this restaurant because the outdoor seating is inviting However I was sad that my out of town guest ate little and refused a take home container my pesto and salmon pasta was too heavy on the dairy and the salmon was not fresh it had that stale salmon strong taste., which I decided to bring home for my pet. I had a Sicilian coworker who was passionate about Sicilian food. Unfortunately the food here lacked passion. It failed to deliver for us. I would not bring out of town guests here unless you've had a previous experience with the food on par with the higher reviews. I'm sorry that I had to rate this as such.

Went here on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and we ordered: Steak Fries, Bucatini Pasta, Clams, Tomato & Cheese Dip (AMAZING! ) In fact, every single dish was completely on point. You normally have to order food and drinks at the bar, but because the entire interior was so packed with people waiting for tables and pre-dinner drinks, the host kindly offered to help us at our table. The catch? She could only take our food order and not the drinks. It's definitely a bit disorderly, but the incredible food almost makes up for the logistical mess!

My expectations were already low as I'm not usually into tapas style (aka small portion but expensive and possibly mediocre food) but boy was I wrong. All of the food that we ordered was genuinely so good. I still think about the BUCATINI (tom yum butter, lime, garlic and basil) and would solely come back for that dish. The portion sizes were on the smaller side but it is tapas, we had a group of 8 hungry people so that was on our part lol Overall, would recommend and come back to try some of their other dishes and wine! super cute for date night

The restaurant has interesting decor and is not like most establishments of this nature as it is informal and is not in " the fine linen and white tablecloth " type of vein. No, the restaurant itself ( in a casual, rustic sort of way ) is very cozy and warm. inviting in a semi-formal way where you can relax to enjoy a fine meal and that is exactly what my family had. Our waiter was an affable fellow named Armando who is one of those servers that, as any good waiter does, is truly attentive to your whims and instinctively anticipates what you may want and he was perfect at his job. He served us water and a very food delicious basket of freshly baked bread ( which inadvertently set the tone for the meal to come because it was beyond excellent ) and named off the house specials, which were all mouth-watering at hearing them but it was the rib eye steak that caught my attention and that is what I ordered and also a ginger beer as well ( Fever Tree no doubt about it ). My family also ordered their food and then we waited for what what it seemed was an eternity for our meal to come. After about 40 minutes our meals came and they did not disappoint, from presentation to the flavor, taste and consistency of it all. I honestly don't remember eating my meal because it was done in 5 minutes... yes. it was that good and beyond delicious! I remember the steak was tender, juicy, grilled perfectly, the gravy was hearty and robust. the vegetables were cooked right ( fresh and tangy ) and the mashed potatoes were oh so fluffy and creamy. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal to the fullest and I left no food on my plate. This was a meal that was pretty epic for what it was and I was throughly satisfied. I ordered a tiramisu for dessert to take home and I'm sure it will be as good as the meal I had at the restaurant. Trattoria 360 is a fine establishment that has earned its flowers and you should give them a try if you're looking for delicious Italian food that is a cut above!
