    Squash blossom pizza

Rollati offers an aesthetic dining experience right across from city hall in DTSJ. The best thing we had was the garlic bread which was buttery, cheesy, and just the right mix of crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The broccolini was well cooked and very zesty. The squash blossom pizza was not a hit for us, it was bland and the crust was too chewy for our preference. I didn't try anything non-veg so maybe I'm missing out some of their better dishes. Service was just fine. This place is great for groups for a special occasion and nice pics.

It's always a great time when I'm with my friends for our traditional birthday get-togethers. One of them recommended this restaurant and I was very excited to try it based on the pics and reviews. I'm really glad we went! [[ Location ]] It's right next to San Jose City Hall and the website directs you to the 4th Street Garage which has 90 minutes of free parking which is plenty of time to scarf down a meal. I think I only paid $1.00 since we ate for 2 hours but I honestly think it was very convenient and cheap. Very quick walk to the restaurant from the parking lot. [[ Restaurant ]] This restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. I really love the aesthetics inside the restaurant and all the furniture, seats, etc. were very pretty and maintained very well. Whoever they hired to do the interior/exterior really knows what they are doing. [[ Food ]] It can be a little pricey but they make it up with excellent flavor, good portion sizes, and beautiful presentation. Take a look at my pics to get a preview. There's really not much we didn't enjoy from this meal. I'll list out what we ordered and I'll put a star on what I think was super delicious. Appetizers: 1.) Mediterranean Salad 2.) AntiPasto Main Dishes: 1.) Fusilli Al Pesto with Chicken Add-On* - Great Pesto Sauce 2.) Spicy Pie* - love the sweet Chili Honey 3.) Chicken Parmesan - HUGE piece, moist chicken 4.) Chicken Picatta* - So creamy Dessert: 1.) Tiramisu* 2.) Strawberry Shortcake 3.) Chocolate Budino Thank you for the restaurant for also giving me a birthday cannoli with a candle on it. That was very sweet! [[ Conclusion ]] We will definitely be back to try out more of their menu. Really enjoyed our time here!

So happy get to finally try this place. Such a cute aesthetic restaurant inside. Got espresso martini as a drink and it did not disappoint. We had 4 people total at dinner and portions were perfect. Onto the food.. Cesar salad: good portion to share. The parmigiano crisp was good. 4/5 Spicy pie: my favorite of the night. Super flavorful and huge to share 5/5 Thousand layer lasagna: this was good and loved the details. Not my favorite but worth it to try 4/5 Chicken piccata: this was also good, but too much sauce. 4/5 Cannoli: very sweet 4/5 Affogato: recommended for coffee lovers 5/5 Overall good food, vibes, and company. Service was good and staff were attentive. The restaurant didn't wow me, but recommended to try or to celebrate someone.

Headed over for dinner with a friend on a Friday night at around 6:30 pm and they were able to seat our table of 2 immediately. The menu was simple and had classic items that were easy to decide from. The interior was very modern, moody with dark fixtures and a really cool bar area at the entrance. Rollati's Caesar - This was very fresh and a great start to our meal. The vegetables were crunchy and balanced with the dressing, parmesan cheese, light parmesan crisps and the croutons. Rigatoni Alla Vodka - The handmade pasta had a good al dente texture and it was the perfect pasta shape to hold the housemade sauce which was a little spicy and punchy. Prosciutto Di Parma Pie - A classic pizza. It was thin but held the toppings well and the crust was light making it easy to eat the whole thing. The melted stracciatella on top was a highlight from the texture and creaminess. We enjoyed their take on some classic Italian dishes and would love to try their other dishes for dinner again!

My family and I visited this restaurant after my nephew's christening, and it was quite good. They offer a modern Italian twist to the food. We started with an antipasto appetizer featuring marinated olives, which was delicious. My mom couldn't stop eating the olives! For our main course, we had the crispy chicken Parmesan sandwich. I thought it was amazing and really juicy, but some family members mentioned it was overcooked. The waiter recommended the rigatoni alla vodka, which was the house special, but it fell short of expectations. It tasted just like spaghetti--nothing particularly special or unique about it. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious cannoli. I have a sweet tooth, so I loved it, although the black cherries were a bit too sweet. Still, it was good overall. Even though the food was average, I would still return. Honestly, I enjoy anything Italian! The restaurant itself is very beautiful, making it great for a family dinner or a nice date. However, be aware that parking may be hard to find, but don't let that deter you from visiting!

We had dinner here for the first time on a Monday evening at 6:30pm with a party of 5 people. We made a reservation a few days before to celebrate my mom's birthday. Entering the restaurant was so clean and aesthetic. I was in love with the interior decor and the cutlery on our table. Our server was so nice and SUPER attentive. She explained the menu to us as it was our first time and it helped us decide what to order. We all ordered drinks: not so prickly margarita (no alcohol), Negroni, aperol spritz (2), caviar martini, and a glass of st. Francis red wine. All the drinks were quite tasty! For the appetizers we ordered: Marinated olives - I personally love olives so this was a solid 10/10 for me Mozzarella sticks - 11/10 because of the the cheese pull and that in itself means it was prepared properly and fried to perfection. I loved that there were 2 dipping sauces - a marinara sauce and ranch Ricotta meatballs - 9/10 I loved the sauce but personally I would have 86ed the ricotta, otherwise it was delicious! Garlic bread - 10/10 loved the crunchy crust and the bread was soft/chewy. I loved that it didn't feel oily like most garlic bread Entrees. We ordered a good amount and shared between the 5 of us Rigatoni alla Vodka - 10/10 sauce was great and loved the kick at the end Spaghetti alla limon - 10/10 very light and not what I expected, in a good way. Compliments the branzino we ordered very nicely and I wish I ordered a glass of white wine Stuffed Whole Branzino - 12/10 best fish I have had at an Italian restaurant. Great job! Thousand layer lasagna - 10/10 very unique and loved the flavors Chicken Parmesan - 8/10 it was delicious no doubt but personally not my favorite dish. I'm not a fan of chicken parm so I don't think my opinion does it justice. However, the rest of the table loved it. I would definitely come back to try other dishes and order the spaghetti alla limon with the branzino again. I want to try the other cocktails as well. This was a great first impression and I can't wait to come back!

I really wanted to love this place but was just left with a disappointing experience. My friends and I wanted to go out for a nice dinner and were recommended Rollati. I had higher than average expectations because it was kind of difficult to snag a reservation plus the prices were on the higher end. Ultimately, we ended up securing a spot around 9 PM on a Friday night and headed to dinner excitedly. We came a little bit earlier than our reservation and were seated immediately (yay!). The ambiance was quiet and romantic.. perfect for a date or a nice group hangout. However, it just went downhill from there. Our waitress came, took our drink orders and we took a few minutes to look through the menu. When we were ready to order, we waited for her to come by and she kept passing us by without acknowledging us. We thought, maybe she's busy tending to other tables and that's okay. So after a few more minutes of not being acknowledged, we gave her a little wave to let her know we were ready. She came by and let us know she'll be back to take our order. Fast forward to 10 minutes later, our order still had not been taken yet and my group and I were starting to get frustrated. Eventually, she came around and took our orders. Our food came out about 10 minutes later. My boyfriend and I got the Rigatoni Alla Vodka with Chicken and a Prosciutto Pie. We were really excited to start digging in but after we took the first bite, we were so disappointed. I'm sorry but the rigatoni was the blandest pasta I had ever tasted. And even when you did taste a little something, the flavor was nothing more than canned tomato sauce. We had to drown our pasta in parmesan to make it a little bit more flavorful. The Prosciutto Pie was not bad but also not good enough to justify the price. What I didn't like was how hard it was to separate the slices of pizza. Every time I tried to grab a piece, the slice I was pulling kept dragging the prosciutto from its neighbor. I did enjoy the dollops of mozzarella on top though. My friends also agreed that their dishes were lacking in flavor and were just disappointing. When we were ready for the bill, we again tried to get the attention of our waitress but to no avail. Whenever we did manage to flag her down, she just kept saying she'll be right back but didn't return for another 10-15 minutes. This was ultimately such a frustrating experience and I would not come back or recommend Rollati to my friends and family. Food was underwhelming, service was terrible, price was not worth it. The only thing that was nice was the ambiance.

Saw some videos of Rollati on TikTok and the food looked amazing, so decided to give it a try on a Friday night! We made a reservation just in case, but there were some vacant tables. Restaurant has a classy feel to it and the food looks aesthetic. Got the mushroom arancini to split and then I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka and my friend got the Spaghetti Alla Limon. Mushroom Arancini (3.5/5): Small portion size (only three arancini). The puree was nice and creamy but it had a touch of sweetness that caught me off guard. I wished it was more savory and more flavorful Rigatoni Alla Vodka (3.5/5): Good amount of pasta. I appreciated how there was lots of sauce but the dish could have used some more seasoning and cheese because the flavors didn't pop for me. Friend really liked the Spaghetti Alla Limon! Amazing customer service! Our waitress was very kind and checked in every so often. The dishes looked great but that being said, I thought they could have been more flavorful given the price point. The bill came out to be almost $100 including tip for the two of us. Overall, I would give Rollati a 3.5, rounding down to 3 as I am unsure if I would go out of my way to return

The food is very tasty. Got the chance to go three times and every single time was a great time. I love when a restaurant is consistent! Ham & Brie pie, yum. Spicy Pie, yum. Cocktails, yum. The staff is always super friendly! Very attentive & give great options. The location is super aesthetically pleasing! Cute girls night or date night!

This place is okay but not memorable. The service was amazing but overall would not comeback for the food. The only stand out was the pizza which was Neopolitan style so the dough was really nice and soft. The vodka sauce pasta was alright but the pasta was a minute or two away from being actually al dente, this was hard.

I had dinner here with a few friends on a Friday night and we had the best time! We have been trying to eat here for a while but they're usually booked at least a week in advance for indoor seating. During our visit it was busyyyyy! We even had to wait approx 10 mins for our table even with a reservation. Shout out to our waitress, Adylene! She was really friendly and professional. She knew from our online reservation that we were there for a birthday, she asked about everyone's dietary restrictions and preferences, and more :-). I was pleasantly surprised by the price point of all the food. For how beautiful the restaurant is and its location, they serve great quality food for a reasonable price IMO. My friend and I shared the chicken picatta and the spicy pie. Both delicious!! The chicken picatta was a great portion and the mashed potatoes were fluffy and so flavorful. The spicy pie was loaded with crispy curly pepperoni and the crust was pillowy soft. Then the birthday girl got served a complimentary pistachio cannoli. Just the right amount of sweet. Perfect was to end the night.

The branzino was very tender, had a nice crust to it, and had great flavor from the sauce. The panna cotta was delicious paired with strawberries and the texture was so smooth! Highly recommend

We arrived for a Friday lunch celebrating our daughter's college graduation. Parking was only available either through street parking or the parking garage across the street. The Italian hotspot, Rollati Ristorante is located in downtown San Jose in a fairly nice area across the City Hall. As soon as you walk in, there was an upscale and lavish vibe going on. The modern stylish decor definitely stood out. Since we had a large party, we were seated in a private area away from the other room full of tables. It was nice in that side of the room as it was less noisy and cluttered. I ordered a three course meal that was a great deal. First the Caesar salad was very tasty. I love Caesar salads and this one did not disappoint. Next I enjoyed the Rigatoni Alla Vodka pasta. You can just taste the freshness of the homemade pasta. Lastly for dessert the mini cannoli was sweet and savory. We were sharing each other's foods and everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the lunch. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Rollati Ristorante especially for a special occasion. If we happen to be in the area and we're craving Italian food, we'll be back for sure.

The service was okay and the ambiance was your typical Italian deli offering wines, cheese, meats, etc. The ornamentation was of interest to view with a lot of football memorabilia. The pastrami sandwich lacked the smokiness and salty pepper. I thought the thousand island dressing was a bit funky but it did add flavor to the meat. The corned beef wasn't savory at all. Yes, both meats are similar, but both were extremely bland. The beef raviolis were a disappointment. Now I understand the highlight of a ravioli should be just that, but sorry, it was mush, not pillow like. There was no constancy. No chewing required. The sauce was not to my liking-it was like eating tomato sauce with sugar. To sweet! Sorry, La Villa, I prefer a more savory garlicky Italian herby flavor for my Italian palette.

I explained that my child was sick at home and I was simply picking up dinner for them. He then responded, "Next time you need to bring your kid." The entire interaction felt humiliating, judgmental, and completely unnecessary. There was no signage, disclosure, or policy stating that a child must be present to order from the kids menu. Instead of handling the situation professionally or privately, I was made to feel embarrassed in front of a packed restaurant. What disappointed me most was the lack of compassion and respect. As a parent trying to bring food home to a sick child, I did not deserve to be questioned or spoken to that way. Unfortunately, after years of supporting this business, I will not be returning and would not recommend others visit if they want to avoid feeling judged or publicly embarrassed. Response to Owners comment: There was no sign, no disclosure, and no posted policy stating a child had to physically be present to order from the kids menu. Instead of handling the situation professionally, I was publicly questioned in front of a packed restaurant while trying to pick up dinner for my sick child. If your changing the policy, then this should have been implemented after not before. Saying other adults ordered kids meals that day does not justify singling me out and embarrassing me. As a single Latina mother, the interaction felt judgmental, discriminatory, and completely unprofessional. I've supported this business for years, but after being humiliated like that, I will not be returning. There is no need for compensation. My review was simply to share the experience I had and warn others how unwelcome I was made to feel.

We enjoyed arugula salads with grape tomatoes and salmon with vegetables. Every food item was perfectly prepared, tasty and utterly delicious. We followed dinner with a spumoni bombe - covered with chocolate. Heartily recommended for food and ambiiance.

Once the food arrived there was no follow up. We had to flag another server down for some condiments I really wanted to like this restaurant because the outdoor seating is inviting However I was sad that my out of town guest ate little and refused a take home container my pesto and salmon pasta was too heavy on the dairy and the salmon was not fresh it had that stale salmon strong taste., which I decided to bring home for my pet. I had a Sicilian coworker who was passionate about Sicilian food. Unfortunately the food here lacked passion. It failed to deliver for us. I would not bring out of town guests here unless you've had a previous experience with the food on par with the higher reviews. I'm sorry that I had to rate this as such.

We had a mix of dishes; Meatball side as an app, bread, Pasta Primavera, Burrata Pizza Pie, and I did a repeat of the Tagliatelle Bolognese... all delicious, especially w a bottle of cab. Energetic service from Westin, who was hustling. The busser is also alert and ready to neaten up the table. I had a bout of Peppermill envy again. Get the fresh pepper. It's worth the scene. The Pastaria is noticeably where the LG ladies seem to gather, so that is good. Haha.

*Vegetarian Foodie Review*…read more Went here with a group of friends for the first time. Ordered: 1) Garlic Bread: 5/5 - Tasted super fresh and garlicky without too much cheese, exactly the way I like it. 2) Walnut Pesto Linguine: 2/5 - It sounded super interesting, so I ordered it. First of all, the dish didn't look appealing at all. I get that it's called walnut pesto, but there were way too many walnuts. As for the pasta itself, it tasted very bland, not flavorful at all. My friend and I ordered the same dish and we both felt the same way, couldn't get past 2 spoonfuls. 3) Pasta Primavera (white wine cream sauced swapped for pink sauced - red and white combined): 5/5 - ordered this for my 5 year old, and omg it was amazing and full of flavor. 4) Burrata Pizza: 5/5 - A very interesting combination of toppings. Must try, do not miss it! 5) Port Belly Pizza (ordered without the pork, made vegetarian): 4/5 - pretty good and flavorful. 6) Pink Gin & Elderflower Tonic (mocktail): 3/5 - Nothing great. I don't drink alcohol at all, so I am not sure how mock gin should taste like. 7) Tiramisu: 4/5 - above average compared to most places. Not soggy or dry - it was good. 8) Brownie Sundae: 3/5 - I had a lot of expectations for this one, but it turned out to be meh, the brownie chunks should have been warm; instead they were pretty hard in texture. They should have warmed it before serving it with the gelato. The taste was good though. Definitely coming back, but I would stick to ordering pizza or the pasta primavera next time. The pizza, bread, etc. were super fresh, and you could feel that in every bite. The ambiance is awesome, you could come here for special occasions with friends and family. Our server was very attentive, gave us good recommendations, and was super nice to us.
