Upon walking in, you feel like you are visiting the friendly Italian neighbor's home for dinner. Don't expect romantic atmosphere for a tete-a-tete, but rather for enjoy great food with family. To be honest, when I opened the menu, I thought the price was a bit on the high side, and didn't expect to like it in the "worth it" scale. But hey, for a higher price, they better deliver on the food quality! It most certainly disappoint. The food was amazing. Got the Linguini Fruti Di Mare, the seafood was good quality, the cioppino sauce was intense. It truly is the boss of the sauce. Also ordered the Chicken Marsala, I'm always cautious before ordering because the marsala wine can easily become overwhelming, or the sauce is too sour, or the chicken is tough and dry. I did not hit any of those, but rather, what I got was a few silky smooth and tender pieces of flattened chicken breasts, that is moist and flavorful. The sauce is great too, not to mention the mushroom, that is so fresh and flavorful on its own. Last but not least, their attention to detail went all the way to mashed potato and steamed vegetables. It was truly one of the best. Did I mention the free, fresh baked foccacia? It's among the top 3 I've had in any restaurants, ever. At the end, even it pinches my wallet a bit, it was well worth it. Now I get why Sorelle has such a high score, and I'm happy that we finally gave it a try. It's situated in a small strip mall, parking is ok as we came at around 6:30pm on a week day night, there were still some spots available. Sorelle is a small restaurant, upon entering, it has a square room and you get to see everything at one glance. It's not fancy on decorations, more like a neighborly place and the customers look like so too, families and large groups on a random day, you don't need to dress up to eat in this place. The 2 page menu has appetizers, salad, pizza, pasta, and 3 entree dishes. Desserts are printed on a separate sheet, there are a variety of choices but a tad too expensive for my wallet. We ordered the Ravioli a la Teresa with cheese and pesto cream sauce, and their signature Sorelle Short Rib Bolognese. After ordering, we were given free bread for the table. The bread had herbs on top and the dipping sauce is olive oil with fried and then mashed soft garlic. The bread looked nothing special, but once I touched it, I was delighted to find out that they were warm and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. It took a bit of wait for our food to came, I think it meant they were freshly cooked. The portions were big. Once laying down our food, the lady came with a big bowl of cheese and helped us sprinkle on top. It looks amazing with the cheese on top, like snow flakes melting on. I am so impressed with my short rib bolognese. The piece of short rib was sumptuous, a whole piece, resting on top of the pasta that is covered in meat sauce. The meat itself was so soft that it was super easy to tear off and just melts in my mouth. Flavorful and soft and juicy, super yummy! The pasta is cooked el dente, and each bite there's a bit of ground meat coated on the ziti pasta from the bolognese sauce. Very satisfying! I had a bite of the ravioli and these huge dumplings are covered in fresh pesto sauce and very cheesy inside. Although I was a bit confused on the difference between a pesto sauce and a pesto cream. I felt like the sauce was more pesto but we ordered pesto cream. Anyhow, it tasted good but I prefer my short rib bolognese more. Bus boy service is fast and responsive. Sorelle is a very popular Italian restaurant in the middle of a residential neighborhood in West Campbell. It's nice and clean but sparse on the "Italian vibe" decoration. The staff is very friendly and talkative. They were always looking after us and gave us their best recommendations. The free bread was delicious and on the table as we sat down. The food was decent, but not extraordinary. I wasn't expecting Michelin stars here but I was hoping for a bit more flavor elevation considering the reviews and crowds. The true definition of a hidden gem. This place is in a small stripmall tucked away fairly deep in a neighbrohood, and you probably wouldn't find it unless it was recommended to you. I'd heard about it a bunch over the years, and finally stopped in for dinner. My mom and I ordered a couple apps and one entree to share, and with the larger portions here, that was a great call. I'm a fairly big eater, and we had plenty leftover. To start we got a caesar salad, garlic bread, and Arancini Balls Stuffed with Bolognese and Romano. We didn't realize the meal already came with complimentary bread, and a really good dip, so I would forgo the garlic bread next time. The garlic bread was very good, it was just too much with everything else. The Caesar salad was good, very standard. The Arancini Balls weren't my favorite, but I did love the pesto marinara that they came in, that sauce was probably my favorite part of the meal. For our entree we shared the Sorelle Short Rib Bolognese, which was a pretty large portion. The short rib wasn't uniformly tender, but there were some very good tender bites. After everything else we ate, we probably only ate about half of this. We didn't have a dedicated server and were helped by different people throughout the meal, but service was very friendly from everyone we interacted with. read more

Hmm, I can't seem to find my review of Sorelle Italian Bistro, so I will try to recreate it from memory. Sorelle is one of my friend's favorite mom & pop restaurants. Its'a family owned Italian restaurant in a little strip off of San Tomas Expressway. It's kind of tucked away in a residential area, so you have to be looking for it. Based on my one visit, I would say you should definitely go looking for Sorelle. We started off my sharing the fried calamari. It was super tender, and I love that in addition to the rings, it came with the tentacles! My friend had the Chicken Marsala, and I ordered the Linguini Fruiti Mare. All of the seafood were perfectly cooked, and the pasta was filling. The sauce had a little kick for this wimp, but the flavor was so tasty, I couldn't stop eating. I just had to wipe up all my sweat. Everything was enjoyable, and I can see why Sorelle's is one of my friend's regular go to spots for homecooked Italian food. read more

I'm always into trying new locations and dishes within the South Bay because I like to think of myself as open minded. Sorelle Italian Bistro was recommended to me by a close friend and told me to come by and see what I thought of it. Service was amazing, very kind and generous workers all around the restaurant with an excellent vibe that anyone can enjoy. The pasta for me was decent, not horrible but not excellent. I do believe it was probably the seasoning they used or maybe not enough of it that made it taste very bland to me. The noodles were fresh but the chicken tasted a little dry and the broccoli didn't have that unique texture to it. Overall, I would like to give this restaurant another opportunity to see if my initial impression is valid and maybe it was just a bad day for the cooks when I went the first time. I FINALLY had the chance to try this neighborhood gem and I have to say it was the best decision I made last night. If you are looking for a delicious and hearty Italian meal, this is truly the place to go. This place is located in an area not very busy and very close to a normal neighborhood. We started of with a complimentary bread which was amazing. Crispy on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside, it came with a delicious garlicky sauce as well. Ambiance: This restaurant does NOT have a good "ambiance" it is in a strip mall and it is a converted space where the entire space has been converted into converted into a restaurant (think of a big room). The part that is the kitchen is sort of hidden away and the restaurant is quite warm (even though they have the AC going). Service: The service was so-so, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Food: We went there with my in-laws (so six of us) and I would have to say that their food was good. I would go here again but not in a big party nor for a special occasion, I would go here with just my kids and wife. - Bread: We asked for bread and it came with oil and garlic which was VERY fresh...the bread was good. - Baked ziti: I had the baked ziti with penne and it was tasty and the meat sauce was not overpowering. - Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife had a salad with salmon and she said it was good. - Garlic Shrimp Pasta: My mother-in-law had this dish and she said it was tasty but she had to take 1/2 of it home. - Alfredo pasta with chicken: The portion was large enough for our two boys to share this adult portion. My son and I are always impressed with not only the food at Sorelle's, but also the service. One of our favorite servers is TISH. She always explains the specials, she is sweet and efficient, and is always smiling. How servers present themselves plays a huge part in my reviews. Then there's the food! Not only is it delicious, the serving sizes are enough for two meals. A couple of my favorites are the Lasagna and the Cheese Ravioli with the Tomato Cream with Vodka sauce. My son favors their Chicken Parmigiana, Stuffed Cannelloni, Creamy Spaghetti with Prawns, as well as their signature Lasagna! We always share an order of their delicious Insalata Caprese. It's a must! Their bread with the delicious Garlic and Oil dip is addictive. Since my first review, we've been dining at Sorelle for 10 years. Our daughter was 8 on her first visit. She's now 18. It has been a consistent family favorite for all these years. Tonight we had another great meal at Sorelle! We ordered from the specials menu: Piccata Calamari Steak and Cioppino. Both were just excellent!! The Cioppino was bursting with fresh seafood, and the sauce was so delicious! The calamari was so tender and fresh, paired with delicious mashed potatoes and perfectly-cooked spring asparagus. I can see that it is well loved by all the reviews and I've always gotten good service. I love Italian food and have worked at and eaten in restaurants from New York to Italy to San Jose. I've been trying this place off and on for years and I really wish it was better. This time around the pizza dough was flat and flavorless (as always). The Eggplant parm was dry and the pasta side had more oregano than sauce. I haven't tried everything on the menu but my favorite is the homemade cavatelli with bitter greens and I can really recommend that. read more

We had a 15 minute wait on a Sunday night at 6:30. This is a place where people sit, relax and talk over their meal. There's tables and a long cushy bench against the wall. There were families and couples. This is definitely a family restaurant. The ambiance does not draw you here. There's a tv, bottles of wine, and view of the parking lot. It's also out in a strip mall, not a big thoroughfare. I would not have found this place on my own. An Italian friend recommended this place. My family ate the bread right up and the calamari fritti too. The calamari was good but not special. My family likes cheese and the server was super sweet and gave us lots of grated Parmesan cheese on our entrees! Some servers will only give you a touch so this was awesome! I got to taste everyone's dish. Yum! The gnocchi was nice and firm, sauce was okay. The Sorelle short rib bolognese was delicious. Too rich for me to eat very much but this was an excellent dish. The tortellini Alfredo was good. My salmon seafood Caesar salad was super good because the salmon was cooked just right and it was a very nice piece of salmon. Amazing! My son is barely a salmon eater and he ate a third of my salmon including his whole meal. The short rib bolognese and salmon on the Caesar salad were great and I would recommend them. The gnocchi and tortellini was standard and definitely very edible. The two dishes did not stand out and I wouldn't send someone here for them. Had a girls night with my sister. We both were craving Italian but neither of us are fond of the restaurants close to home. Quick search on Yelp suggested we try Sorelle. We showed up on a Friday evening after 5:30 pm and had a 20 minute wait. The service was friendly and quick, the food was nothing short of wonderful. The fried artichoke was just the starter we needed to get our dinner started along with peach bellini's. I have to say, I'm partial to my mamas linguini and clam sauce so this was a true treat as it was definitely one of the best I've had outside of home. My sister loved and I approved the short rib bolognese, very balanced sauce and fork tender chunk of rib on top. If I could give Sorelle Italian Bistro 10 stars on here I would. My wife and I came here for our 12 year Wedding Anniversary. If you are looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place to go to. Everything we ate was top notch. To start, they serve you complimentary bread that is so good and addicting. For an appetizer, we ordered the Goat Cheese Bruschetta and it was the perfect bite of savory, creamy and crunch. I am always going to order this every time we eat here. The short rib bolognese was perfectly cooked. The short rib was so tender and I loved that pasta sauce. My wife loved her Fussili with Chicken. For desert we shared their Cannoli of the Day which was blue berry. Along with the great food, the service was great and we loved the ambiance of this restaurant. Love going here for lasagna, which I never order anywhere is amazing! As is the bread and the garlic dipping sauce . I almost ate all of my chicken Parmesan. It was so good. Just a tip sometimes you can order three meatballs, even though they're not listed on the menu and they are also great luckily their beef and not a beef and pork mixture . If I had to change anything about this place, I wish it was more spacious and maybe a little bit nicer decor inside and it would be wonderful if they had an outdoor patio to eat outside maybe they can take over one of the businesses next-door someday.
