Disappointing (non)service. Save your money for a place that wants you to spend it. Honestly, I really wanted to like this place. It was cute. The ambiance was nice. The food looked good, but my date and I didn't get a chance to try it. I live in the area and have always seen this place when going past. It looked cool and since it had such great yelp review, I thought tonight would be a good time to try it out. Just got out from a comedy show and we arrived at 9:10pm - it says they close at 10pm so we should be ok right? We only wanted to stop in, get a drink or two, and maybe 1-2 apps. After being greeted by the host, who was very nice, we told her that we just wanted to sit at the bar and get a drink and maybe a couple apps. She said "great!" with a big smile and led us there. While being led there I noted that the place had really cool decor and lighting, felt very cozy and italian. This is where it switched from a nice experience into a really quite bad one. As soon as we sat at the bar we felt unwelcome. There was a bartender there, middle-aged man with glasses and longish shaggy black hair that immediately gave us a "mean mug" type look. "That's strange..." I thought to myself. He did not greet us and seemed pre-occupied with closing the bar, wrapping up the beer spigots etc. The vibe was totally off, we are unwanted it seems. We sat there for maybe 1-2 minutes until he finally turned to us and said "Are you guys waiting for someone?" "We just want a menu" my date replied. "The restaurant is closed" he said, in quite a brusk and rude tone. I looked at my watch. It was 9:15pm. "But it says you guys close at 10pm, is that not the case?" I piped up. "No." he said, shaking his head. He turned his back to us. At this point I thought, lets go to a place that wants our money. I work with customers in my day job and would never be able to interact with a customer in the way he did. Honestly, if you're that way with customers I feel you're more suited to a warehouse job than you are working a bar. "We're not wanted here, lets leave" I said to my date. We got up and left. With people working like that working at their restaurant - save your money and go to some place else with good service. If the bar itself was closed, fine, offer us a table or something. Be nice about it. Instead we got quite rude (non)service. Again, the host was nice, keep her. But buyer beware - if you come during the last hour expect to be treated like you're unwanted garbage from unfriendly bartenders. A group of us gathered here for lunch during the week. They have a parking lot across the street and limited street parking within a very close walking distance. Their dining areas are vast. There's way more tables than you expect as you walk in the front door. It has a great garden vibe and you are not crowded together. Their menu is extensive and prices are reasonable. Service was also attentive and friendly. Our group enjoyed the carbonara, spaghetti and meat sauce, spaghetti and meatballs, meatball sandwich, and Italian sausage sandwich. The bread they offer is ample and delicious. A nice touch is the unsalted butter, which is much fresher tasting than salted butter. The portions were large and those of us ordered pasta took home more than half and we are not shy eaters. I would highly recommend this for a group gathering. Handicap parking is street parking directly in front of the restaurant, which is helpful but there is a lot of on coming traffic. The establishment is huge! Lovely outside seating. The staff were friendly and gave a family atmosphere. I'm gluten free so I requested gluten free bread when they offered bread for the table. They provided both since my friend isn't GF. This was a nice touch. I've never had a restaurant provide this option. I can't remember if they charged me for it. I ordered a pizza without realizing it included anchovies. To begin, the cappuccino was very well-made, and that is what I started with. Second, I ordered the special Polenta with Shrimp while my friends ordered the Fettucini Con Pollo and the Polenta Appetizer. I tried the Fettucini Con Pollo noodle, and the cream sauce was good with the noodle well-cooked. The polenta was smooth and creamy. The sauce had a strong mushroom flavor, which we really liked. The dish came with steamed veggies and potatoes. The crab ravioli came with creamy sauce. The ravioli was filled with a generous amount of crab meat. Although it looked like there were only 4-5 pieces of ravioli, it was quite filling. Came in on a Saturday night for a family dinner. Called for reservation however they said they were booked for the evening and I was told to go ahead and come on in. Came in around 6:30 and we were lucky enough to get a table 15 minutes later. The older lady at the counter gave great customer service and this was a great start to our night. It's tender. It's somewhat seasoned overall. It's an OK chicken Alfredo pasta. They accompanied with some great Italian bread not garlic bread just Italian bread. The chocolate cake also had chocolate syrup drizzled all-over it. Which for me was it a overkill. The last of the cake itself I enjoyed them. They were moist. It was Rich. We ended up being the last table there since they close at 9, but they were super polite and didn't rush us. We weren't trying to overstay and probably left at around 9 anyway. They turned off the music once we were the only ones there and I honestly really appreciated the quieter atmosphere! They had a high ceiling in the main dining area with string lights across the ceiling, the setup was beautiful. We had a sleeping baby in the group and one of our servers helped set up his carrier in a seat next to the table. They were really friendly and polite and even though initially we requested everything to be served at once, when we reconsidered and preferred appetizers first served followed only after by the main dishes, they changed course for us. They were really fast with bringing everything out too! We had complimentary bread in the beginning and ordered fried zucchini, which were crispy and flavorful, and farfalle al salmone, which was super creamy and delicious. Overall, I wasn't entirely impressed with my experience here but there were some notable things I'll mention that were positive. The welcoming staff was kind and made us feel comfortable right away which was nice, bringing out bread and water for us quickly. I forgot to snap a picture of the dinner we ordered, but it was some sort of Veal special, risotto yellow pasta/rice type thing. For $50, it was not worth the price.. we would have been better off ordering a classic pasta dish I assume.. Service was fine, but not impressive. It took quite a while to get our food out which wasn't great. I did get a photo of the chocolate cake we ordered, but I wouldn't recommend it either. It was very thick almost a glue like texture that stuck to the roof of our mouths in an off putting way. Parking is confusing at first until you see the big restaurant sign that says parking in huge lettering when you're driving past by. My boyfriend devoured his seafood linguine, and said he would come back again for it in the future. Service here is A1. We were checked on many times and had water refills. You don't feel rushed eating here, they make you feel comfortable and the outdoor atmosphere is nice. One thing to note about the service was that the sun was in my boyfriend's face and the server noticed. He went over to move the big umbrellas to make shade, it was so thoughtful. Later on as it cooled down, I saw some girls sitting on the edge of the restaurant getting a little cold, the servers went over to draw the drapes so the wind wouldn't hit them. 10/10 service. April 20, 2026 - Our group of 4 came for dinner w/o a reservation. It was fairly early, thus we were seated w/o any issues. As a side note, even though it was before 6PM, there is not a lot of parking in the area. We started with the fried zucchini and really liked that it was cut like french fries. The Chicken Parmigiana was very tender and the potatoes (instead of pasta) with rosemary were tasty. The Fartalle Al Sa1mone (bowtie pasta with fresh salmon in a vodka cream sauce) was enjoyed as was the Tortellini Capricciosa (round pasta stuffed with meat, peas, ham, and mushrooms in a pink cream sauce). The Linguine Fra Diavola (prawns in a spicy marinara sauce) was delicious too. We also enjoyed the cocktails. There is a small lot across the street but also street parking. I was surprised by the enormous size of this place and you could definitely fit an entire extended family. Olive oil and butter both provided and good tasting ( not astringent or anything). Offered parmesean grated on top. Gnocchi aurora- wow I think why 5 stars. The best gnocchi I have ever tasted. I expected a richer sauce but its a robust tomatoe flavor. The gnocchi is perfectly made, has that qq chewy bounce but isn't mushy and clings onto the sauce well. Like perfect mix between flour and potato. I usually find it too hard or too mushy but this was perfect. I think this would be great with a red pepper flake vodka sauce or plain butter and sage. Fettuccine con pollo- cheaper than fettuccine with chicken. Has dried tomatoes and mushrooms. The chicken is dry. But again good pasta, perfectly cooked. I appreciate that the Alfredo sauce wasn't oily and cooked to a good texture that clung to the noodles. I liked the late night ambiance it's a surprisingly cute place. Fettuccine Alfredo (3/5): Creamy in texture but it lacked the rich and savory flavor. Fell flat for us Penne Palermo (3.5/5): The tomato based sauce gave the dish some flavor but it still could have used more seasoning. The eggplant was tasty Tiramisu (5/5): Nice way to end the meal! I've ordered spaghetti here on occasion. I usually ask for extra sauce but forgot. The pasta is pretty naked due to a lack of sauce. Double the sauce and you'll be getting there. I finally ordered a Margherita pizza and what a disappointment! It should have crispy crust! What I got was honestly inedible. Way too much cheese and half inch thick tomatoes meant it didn't cook through. They need to retrain the cooks to have passion for pizza. Embraces the true spirit of good Southern Italian cooking. Parking can be a bit tricky, with one small lot across the street and another lot about a block away. The street is narrow so you need to be careful driving down it, and turning around can be difficult. I am fond of marinara so I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs on the advice of the server. And I was not disappointed. I don't know the blend they use but it was textured perfectly and spiced just right. I'd have been happy eating them on their own! The pasta itself, cooked exactly to perfection and served with the right amount of sauce, neither a puddle nor a "barely-there" dress I have seen at some places. The sauce itself was subtle and slightly sweet, definitely emphasizing the tomato taste over any added spices. Our server told us it was because it was light on the garlic. Came here for Father's Day dinner, it looked packed on the patio but to my surprise it was huge inside and we went to another part which had a lot of people and there was a whole other part we didn't even see. Palermo is one of those places i would drive by and note in my head I should check that out. After so long of driving by and saying next time me and my friends implusively were like let's go to Palermo finally! I immediately smelled cigarette smoke once I posted the restrooms. It was beautiful but I hate the smell of smoke and it was strong. Maybe there was a smoke area nearby. Service by most of the servers was friendly but one server was so snobby. I asked what drinks they had and I was wanting something non alcoholic but they were unhelpful and when I asked where the bathroom was they were so rude. Even my friends noticed hire rude they were being and we're pretty patient people but whenever we asked questions they just acted like we were dumb. They apparently have a parking lot across the restaurant. The food was pretty good I guess but I just hated asking our server for anything. read more
