Came here for a quick lunch, but the place was incredibly hot. They only had wall AC units and it could not keep the place the place cool at all. We had been sitting down for about 10 minutes before somebody came to attend us and you can tell they work overwhelmed with not enough attendance/servers to help with the flow of lunch. They did not have the seafood soup that I typically like for lunch and since they were taking so long to come around to take our order, we just went ahead and left to try something else. First time there - tried it for lunch. Freshly baked bread comes before the meal with (what I believe to be) garlic in oil. Excellent! Our lunch consisted of Baked Ziti and Scallopine di Pollo (also side salads were served in advance of the main course). Scallopine was perfect - just loved it. I didn't try my friend's Baked Ziti, but she did like it. The owner came by and asked how everything was. Servicer was timely and courteous. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. We were in town visiting family and went to Napoli for dinner. It was a rainy evening, and the restaurant wasn't crowded. We were the only large table in restaurant, and our waitress was wonderfully attentive. The menu is relatively simple and filled with traditional Italian dishes. Everyone in our party ordered something different, and we shared tastes of each dish. Each dish was well done, and I would order anything on the menu again! It is nice to see a small neighborhood restaurant doing good things and serving dishes that are as good as dishes served in some of the restaurants in largely Italian sectors of cities around the country! The food was ok for me. My husband did not like his food at all, he didn't even finish it. The salad was too watery. The service was great can't complain at all, the server was nice and friendly very respectful. The ambience was quiet and peaceful. I'm very sensitive to smell so when I walked in there was a musty smell (like moldy). My husband said the men's restroom was very dirty but the women's was clean. We drove from Katy and saw this location had better reviews but it wasn't worth the drive unfortunately. We love small businesses and wanted to avoid the Italian franchises. What a gem and completely deserving of its current star rating! Found Original Napoli while in search of pizza. It is a small cozy spot with a nice patio in the back. We were seated immediately and even better than the food was every employee we encountered. Our main waitress was attentive and checked on us often but every employee was friendly. We ordered a medium deluxe pizza and spaghetti and meat sauce. The only ding I would give the food was that the salad was absolutely swimming in dressing. We got our food to go. I wish they did a better job packing the pasta. They use the foil pans with plastic lids. Unfortunately, they stacked them and the kids are too flimsy so the pasta dishes sauce leaked. Alfredo is 4/5. Super creamy, needs a tad more salt for my taste but a great flavor and very creamy Chicken picatta 2/5 lacked depth, couldve used more salt especially on the chicken. The angel hair pasta tossed in garlic butter was decent. Pasta was al dente. Ziti vodka sauce.meatball and sausage 4/5 this dish was super tasty. I wish i had more sauce. The meatball is super soft and tasy, the sausage was flavorful. I will get a meatba sub next time! The best dish for me was the cheese canzone 5/5 Omg. You cannot go here and not get this. Wow, very surprised to find this place. I was getting an oil change next to Shell. Next to Shell, there's a little nice Italian restaurant. I figured I can just go in and have a bite to eat. It's such a hidden place behind this gas station. I would never know it's here if I did not go to the Shell gas station. It's right on the corner of chimney rock and beechnut. I'm from Mexico and I was happy to try. Food was amazing. Service was so wonderful. The owner was there and I didn't know he was in the business for 30 years. This evening, I placed a to-go order, at 7:23 PM. The order was split into two separate tickets and was supposed to be ready around 7:38 PM. When we arrived we received only the first part of the order, and I immediately noticed half of it was missing. I sent my son back into the restaurant to wait for the missing items. After 15 minutes passed and he still hadn't come out, I went inside to check, and he was still standing there -- with no food. I approached the waitress, who didn't seem to understand me until I spoke to her in Spanish. I asked about the missing pasta, and she assured me it was ready. Another 10 minutes passed. I asked again, and she once again claimed it was ready. Yet when I spoke to the kitchen staff directly, the cook clearly told me they had never received the order. At this point, I asked the waitress again: Is the order ready or not? She repeated that it was ready -- but the cook looked at me with clear confusion, making it obvious that it was not. After being lied to multiple times, wasting over 30 minutes, and getting nowhere, I left it was 8:20 by then. I try hard to support local businesses, but this was beyond frustrating -- it was completely unacceptable. When I asked for her name and the name of the manager, she outright refused to provide either. I will never return to this restaurant, and I will make sure to share my experience so others can avoid the same disrespect and incompetence. read more

A few months ago, following the personal appeal from Papa Zack, I ordered another pizza, which was good. Tonight I got a pizza plus some ziti bolognese. Both were pretty good! The ziti wasn't De Cecco but hey, this is a restaurant. The pizza was close enough to the standards of NY pizza. As a NYer I realize I am picky about this. Well, you can't get good pizza in Houston most anywhere but I am gratified to tell you that at Original Napoli, they fixed whatever it was that was going on at the end of 2022 for sure, and you can go here without fear of disappointment. I ordered the 3-piece Lobster Ravioli with Vodka Sauce and small size Angel Hair with Meat Sauce. They were both great, very delicious and flavorful in their own ways. The ravioli dish was a real standout for me with that vodka sauce. It was very tasty, very aromatic, creamy, mildly tangy and herbed nicely. I don't like when they just put a plain, heavy white cream like Alfredo sauce on lobster ravioli or something just like it. I prefer tomato involvement. Imo, the best lobster ravioli in the city region or even state are from Angelo's ( Webster ) and Napoli here. The other pasta I ordered was very good, meaty, hearty, savory and runny. The noodles were soft and the meat was well-seasoned with a good tomato base in the sauce. Great, efficient and friendly service on this visit. I've been looking for a good Italian restaurant for so long and finally I found my go to place! The restaurant is so cute and has a cozy, homey feeling. Our server was super friendly and attentive. To start they brought us bread with an olive oil herb dipping sauce which was amazing, then my sister and I split the large Caesar salad which was very generous in size, and for my meal I had the small spinach Alfredo pizza which is the best Alfredo pizza I have ever had. It seats about 50 diners in two dining rooms and affords a view into the kitchen as many European restaurants do. The offerings are reasonably priced. We had the baked ziti and the eggplant parmesan -both were quite good for a neighborhood bistro. The meal was preceded by fried calamari which was excellent accompanied by bread (risen yeast roll) with an olive oil / garlic dipping sauce. The waitress had a dull personality which I would have not minded if the food was good. I had ordered Shrimp Francaise which is a lightly battered shrimp with a side of fettuccini alfredo. What I got was a platter of fettuccini with 5 flavorless shrimp that looked like they were boiled mix with a whole platter of soupy what was to be alfredo sauce but lacked the distinct parmesan flavor. To me it tasted like I was eating fettuccini soup with shrimp and cream with garlic. In fact there was so much soupy sauce that when the waitress brought it it spilled on the floor. I had dinner here last week while in the neighborhood for a meeting. The interior is small and cozy with a small bar area along with the dining area. I asked for the spaghetti with mushrooms meal for $11.95. First to come out was a bread basket filled with two large rolls that were nice and puffy fresh. It was followed by a side salad with my ranch dressing and I enjoyed it. Very shortly after it's arrival my entree arrived. I don't like it when the meal isn't properly spaced and I have to look at my entree while trying to hurry and finish my salad. The spaghetti, marinara sauce and mushrooms was large enough in size and tasted good but the sauce was too watery and it created a pool on the plate that was unattractive. My table service during the meal was very good. While the overall meal was decent I can't give a score higher than a 3 due to the watery sauce and inadequate pacing of the meal delivery. read more

My wife got a huge bowl of meatball soup, she loved the bite size pieces of meatball. most places you expend a lot of energy trying to downsize or chase the meatballs around in the broth. I got the supreme calzone, four meats and four vegetables and plenty of cheeses, the crust was amazing , crisp exterior and an interior full of goodies. A couple bites shot this up to the numero uno spot on my personal calzone list....yes i have one of those. Our buddy had her go to item anywhere we try......eggplant parmesan....she saw a stuffed version, she asked what might it be stuffed with? Lots of cheese the wait person said.....she said yes please and loved it. I've come here since I was little and it's been one of my top fav Italian restaurants since! It has such a cozy feel when you walk in and there's a nice outdoor seating area as well. They start you off with some bread and a side of olive oil dip which is always so delicious that you don't even need to order an appetizer. I recently tried their Sicilian pizza and it was pretty good but I think I prefer my usual New York style margarita pizza. I also highly suggest their eggplant parmigiana its delicious. They have great marinara sauce and the food is always super tasty. My boyfriend and I come here a lot together and he loves their food as well. Order takeout from here occasionally. The pasta and pizza is all delicious, though maybe a little pedestrian. I think maybe it's the neighborhood, but they hit their target and keep it pushing. Never eaten there, but it's always fairly busy inside and seems like a nice little spot. Idk about the reviews griping about parking, it not being NY style, or the manager as I've never had a single issue, but it's a pretty solid option in the area as pizzeria's go.
