WoW. My Orange Chicken lunch came HOT and still STEAMING. Lots of sauce which is appreciated. And the noodles are cooked perfectly and not clumpy & sticking together. They must have rinsed them before adding the sauce which I prefer to dry sticky pasted together noodles. I'd prefer brown rice for nutrition but the fried rice is good. This location is a new stop for me because my GoTo here is Flowing Tide for their delicious fish and chips. But today I felt like sweet so I tried this place. I thought it was a tiny place with 2 tables but they have a nice dining room also. The Orange Chicken says it's spicy so I asked for no spice and was told the sauce is already spiced but it is mild. There are two suites divided into two restaurants under one roof; one side serving sushi and the other serving Chinese food. We dined in for dinner a few weeks ago, browsed their menu because we initially were on the fence if we wanted sushi. Sushi side was packed, so we chose the quieter section and settled for Chinese. It's a lot smaller and preferred the quiet over chaos. Although not a lot of diners inside; they were pumping out take out orders the entire we were there. (Always a good sign in my eyes). We ordered at the counter, picked a table and they served the rest. There were only a few tables to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised with how good everything was, fairly generous prices and portions! Not pictured was kungpao chix and chowmein. (I highly recommend both). I dropped by O'A Sushi to pick up a couple entrees from their Chinese Cuisine menu: House Special Egg Foo Young, Shrimp Fried Rice and Salt-and-Pepper Calamari. I have been thinking about this salt-and-pepper calamari ever since I had eaten it at their restaurant. The restaurant wasn't too busy yet when I arrived, so I was able to place my to-go order right away. The cashier was nice enough and the service was quick, it took less than half an hour to receive my order; the total cost for all three dishes was about $50, including a $10 tip. Unfortunately, O'A was a bit out of my way, so when I got home the food was warm (not hot) but it still tasted good. The salt-and-pepper calamari was too spicy for me this time and the shrimp fried was pretty good too with big, plump pieces of shrimp. The house special egg foo young was ginormous; it's an entire meal all in itself. Had I known the egg foo young was gonna be massive, I would have ordered it by itself. I ordered for take out here and the service was quick. The cashier did inform me that it's cheaper to order takeout in store or by calling in, instead of online. The food was decent. We had OA sushi a while ago and have been wanting to try the Chinese food side and we were finally on that side of town at dinner time. They have a decent menu, we decided on the combo plates so we'd get to try the fried rice & chow mein. Overall each option was full of flavor, my husband said he only wished the general chicken was a bit spicier, but he really liked the sesame chicken as well. The restaurant is beautiful, well kept and clean, and the staff is incredible - accommodating and kind. They were very busy with take out orders which was great to see! Going to start off by saying the Sushi side is my favorite. Because Min hasn't been there lately, it's not where I want to eat. This place is amazing, they wrapped my food so it didn't spill. Hot & Sour Soup had all the usual suspects and tasted average. Fried rice was very bland sad to say. Ordered Kung Pao Beef. Top of tasted very bland till I started dipping in sauce below which tasted good. Also ordered Mongolian beef. It was really sweet and had lots of white onions. Came with chow mein which seemed bland. Meat on both was really good and not super chewy. Loved the fact they had chili oil. The egg roll was a huge mistake in packaging! I decided to try OA Chinese for a quick takeout lunch and I'm glad I did. Ordering was easy, I just called it in but they also offer online ordering on their website which looked easy to navigate. I ordered on a Friday around 11:45am and it was ready in 15 minutes. From the look of the restaurant setup, the Chinese food side is more for takeout, though I'm guessing one would be seated on the sushi side of the restaurant to dine in. The food was good, I got the vegetable bean curd which came with a separate container of white rice. I got the tofu fried but had the option to have it soft. It was tasty. The portion was big, at least 3 meal sized servings for me. It wasn't overly salty. I'm looking forward to ordering from here again. This place is decent. The servings they give you are monstrous for sure. I ordered the Mongolian beef with chow mein and steamed white rice with an order of pot stickers. The Mongolian beef was pretty decent, the meat was tender and the sauce was good. Lots of onions. I like onions, but this was an excessive amount. The rice was decently fresh, you would be surprised at the amount of places that serve stale rice. That sucks! The chow mein was nothing special. Cheap and greasy, but still sort of tasty. Solid little go-to neighborhood Chinese takeout option. This is my most convenient, local option for Chinese food. There have been stretches where I have ordered from here weekly, or even twice weekly. I wouldn't say this is the best Chinese cuisine in Reno, but it's a solid, reliable, family owned restaurant where you can't count on a consistent experience. You can also count on generous portions for a fair and affordable price. My favorites are the Chicken w/Broccoli, Sizzling Rice Soup, and Egg Rolls or Crab Rangoon. okay, here we go.... Proceed with caution! I went with a friend to lunch and she had decided here. First, let me say it looks clean and is connected to the sushi place next door. We both had lunch specials and an order of "Crab Cheese Stars". These looked perfectly golden. They do not have a lot of filling and the filling is VERY a sweet and liquid consistency with small fragments of crab... definitely not was either of us was expecting.. Soup was included in our lunch specials. I had the egg flower soup that was mayorly lacking any flavor except an underlying plastic flavor. She has the Hot and Sour soup that also did not have any spice or flavor at all. I ordered General Chicken and she ordered Cashew Chicken. Both came out very fast and with loads of rice. We thought this could possibly be some redemption.... Nope. The chicken tasted like mold making you question your life's decisions... and the vegetables were slimy. You would think that at least there would be some covering up of flavor but nope. this left a mold flavor in your mouth from the first bite. Her Cashew chicken was the same but with more slimy mushy chicken and the large pieces of zucchini were slimy and did not smell good either. We both let the server know and she was not helpful at all. She took the food, did not offer another option and brought us the bill stating "this is what you owe.". As not to make a scene I handed her my card. Swipe, there goes $40 as I could feel my stomach starting to churn and the color draining from my face from the couple bites I had. My friend was feeling the same was and she luckily made it to the restroom and threw up the bites she had. I made it down the street before having to expel this poor choice. Went to get Chinese food as I have been craving it. I had a tooth extraction last week and am finally able to eat solid foods. When I ordered online, I requested if they could cut up the sweet and sour pork so I can chew better. When I arrived, they cut it up into tiny pieces so I could chew it easier. I really appreciated that! The only issue I had is all the pork was really tough and hard. Even if I didn't have a tooth extraction it'd be really hard to chew besides that. I'm sure you can sit over on the sushi side if needed but looks to be designed more for Take-Out. The service was good, they are looking to hire more help, which would help as they only had the one person today. I was able to order quickly and received my food quickly. The Pot Stickers were good, nice size and full of flavor. The General Chicken was fresh and tender, the flavor was average, could use a little more spice, the Fried Rice was just warm, not hot like everything else, it was actually disappointing. Hands down one of the best American style Chinese restaurants in town. Every menu item I've ever had has been absolutely delicious. They are super fast and efficient with take out orders and they are so friendly. They have a pretty extensive menu and they even have sushi next door which I hear is pretty good as well. My go to spot for chow fun. They have the perfect balance of salty and fatty noodles and meat with not too much filler or bean sprouts and green onions. I've been here a couple times for takeout and have some thoughts. Pork chow mein - the first time I got it a few months ago, it was pretty good. Perfectly cooked, nice little char. Really nice stuffing, lots of little things mixed in with it, not just plain cheese. Really nice cook on them as well. Chicken with mushroom? Something new we tried. This was my wife's dish, so I didn't try it. She says "bland, it needs some help." She ended up putting a crap ton of soy sauce, pepper, and hot mustard on it. I could tell by looking at it, not a lot going on in the color department. Both the mushrooms and the chicken looked boiled, not seared. The sauce was really basic looking, no seasoning mixed in - at least that I could see. Bummer! Mongolian beef - this is something I got a few months ago and again a couple days ago, and just like last time this was fantastic. Perfect cook, seasoned very well, really enjoyed it. I'll get this every time I go there if they keep making it like this, same with the rice. So this place is a mixed bag, really. And that's unfortunate. Let me start off by saying I typically don't enjoy Chinese food. I'll eat it if that's what's being served or what the group wants, but if you asked me where I want to go, I will literally never say "oooh how about Chinese!" That being said, I actually enjoyed OA Chinese -- specifically the chow mein and the cashew shrimp, and would choose to have those again! The chow mein was flavorful without being too greasy, a really good portion size, and it was a nice noodle to veggie ratio, in my preference (I like more noodles!). The cashew shrimp had a really generous serving of actual shrimp, and the zucchini still had texture rather than being a mush blob too. On the other hand -- the sweet and sour pork has been all over the board for us. Once when my parents ordered it, the pieces were all like dime sized and hard as a rock. Another time they were like ping pong ball sized and a bit mushy. On the plus side again (compliment sandwich), they really take transit time into account when boxing your food--all the sauces for fried things are served on the side so nothing gets ruined and mushy while you drive home! The staff is also really friendly, and it seems like a family-run business. The menu has a ton of variety, and if I can find something I like, I bet anyone can! read more

Nice and clean inside and got potstickers, wonton soup, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken and fried rice for the family. My son will eat No onions or vegetables, so I had to order the rice and the Mongolian beef that way. The server who took my phone order and gave me the food was super sweet. I like that they give you chili oil to spice things up. The prices are really good, but all the food to me was just ok. Good spice and sour balance. Very good IMO. The eggplant was actually really good. I try eggplant at pretty much every Asian restaurant I go to and this place was good. Nice mix of sweet and spicy and they don't use giant pieces of eggplant like some places. Also had to try their house chow mein since I'm on the hunt for best chow mein in Reno Its decent. This Chinese food restaurant just opened in the Raley's shopping center at McCarran and Mira Loma. It appears to be a family business. They young person behind the counter takes money and then packages food after opening it to see what it was without washing hands. It was kind of gross to watch. Our order took a while because they are disorganized. As I said they had to look inside each take out box on the counter with people coughing and staring at the food to get the orders straight. I think the same thing happens probably in the back when you pick up take out but at least you hope the people have clean hands and it isn't on a dirty counter. It is not like the food touches anything but it just seemed weird. When I got the food home the beef and broccoli appears to be steamed broccoli and the beef was gray. It was inedible. I also got the vegetables which weren't too bad just kind of bland. The sweet and sour chicken is nothing more than breaded fried chicken with sweet and sour dipping sauce on the side. I was expecting pineapple, onions, peppers. The fried chicken was okay but the sweet and sour sauce was like red food dye and sugar water. I gave them two stars because maybe it will get better the longer they are open. I am hoping they get it together because I miss the old Chinese place that was in that spot. read more
