Ordered 2 chili cheeseburgers with fries & chili fries to go, and ate in our truck. It was a slow evening, but we received our food in about 12 minutes. Lots of undesirables in this area - even had a car in the parking lot with people living in it. Stuff piled 5 feet above the roof line. Food was good, however. The food that I ordered came out correctly and was hot and delicious. The dining room tables had numerous smudge marks and remnants of food on some of the chairs and the tables . The metal railings looked like they hadn't been wiped down in a while.As I was eating my food, I was fighting, all the flies that were in the dining room. So I was at Raising Canes and caught a glimpse of Tommy's. I was curious so I drove over. I didn't really know What to expect from this place. It looked old, but like an In n Out. Decided to try it just for the hell of it. Got a chili burger and chili fries. Fries were cool, seasoned, fried crispy. The burger tasted like an old school burger. It could have used a little seasoning on the patty. I thought the mustard was a nice touch. The chili reminds me of the chili from 7 eleven if you've ever gotten nachos there. Super convenient stop over for a quick bite if you're passing through. Never too packed and you're able to jump back on the fwy super quick after you're done. That being said, be careful to make sure you take that turn into the parking BEFORE the freeway entrance....or you're going to have to double back. If you haven't had Tommy's before, be prepared for a heavy meal. We typically take it ours to go, but it's not super packed inside. Service - Friendly enough staff, food comes not super duper fast but fast enough. Might be a staffing thang. It's been so long since I've had Tommy's and their chili. It's a messy meal and you should expect to end up with chili everywhere. Haha. The hubby got the double chili cheeseburger combo meal. I just got a plain chili burger with chili cheese fries. My eyes were definitely more hungry/bigger than my stomach. We ended up taking home most of the fries. So I think you can share the fries with someone. Also their combo comes with a medium drink, which is huge and more like big gulp size so also pretty shareable. The burgers are pretty good size too and exactly what I expected. Chili was great and messy. It was stuffed with all the fixings (which you can also customize and take off if you want) - tomato, pickles, onion, and mustard. There's so much extra chili oozing out of the burger, you can use that for your fries. A tip - no need to get chili fries. Haha, but my chili cheese fries was great. I was disappointed in the quality of the food. For a supposed world famous place it was lacking. But the biggest problem i had was the fact that after I had used my debit card there. The next day someone used my card to withdraw 100 dollars from my bank account. It was the only time I had used my card in California, so I know it was this store. I called to complain and the manger said "they don't do that their". She was very dismissive and rude. Won't see me in that store again. I can't give less than 1 star, but I would. read more

Stopped at the truckstop and walked over...I got a double chili cheeseburger and some chili cheese fries...Overall I thought it was really basic and average...It's fast food so nothing to write home about...burger was along the lines of McDonalds...Chili tasted like out of a can. ....the chili really wasn't all that spicy so I added my own smoked paprika on it along with some chili powder to help it lol...I also was given some light green peppers which I was not a fan of even though I'm a pepper head...If you like banana pepperoncinnis then you might like them. read more

I'm not a big Tommy's lover like other people in my usual party, but we tend to stop here sometimes on our way to Vegas. It's located away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. Every single time that we've come in here, it has been clean and the staff has been very nice and engaging. In fact, several places that we've been to in Barstow have better customer service than places back home. You'd think that in the middle of the desert, you'd get lame ass customer service, but not here! Everyone is extremely friendly. Always. I tend to order small and normally get chili cheese fries. Sometimes I get a chili cheese burger. They put plenty of chili and cheese and I love that it's not super greasy. I think that's why I didn't care for the original Tommy's back home. It was so greasy that I just couldn't enjoy the food for all that oil that was in it. Plus, I don't "love" their chili. I like it and it's good enough to eat, but as far as fast food chili, I enjoy Pink's Hot Dogs chili more. Of course, everyone else in my party loves it, but it's a treat for me. I don't normally eat like this, so I have to make sure that I don't get sick because my body isn't used to it and surprisingly this didn't make me sick. The patty had a nice char on it - fresh veggies (tomato, chopped onions, lettuce) with the thousand island spread. I think it actually taste better than a burger at in n out. Made to order. The chili cheese fries were bomb especially w the pickled hot peppers. Next time im gonna order it with chopped onions for more texture. Restaurant was super clean - plenty of parking. I am a Tommy's fan. If travelling east-west on I-40/CA58 it's only 1 exit south out of your way. The food and service is consistent with other Tommys experiences of recent years. As a native Angeleno I ate at the original Tommy's quite often, as well as the other locations in LA and NV. This was not the Tommy's I know and love. Very little chili on the cheeseburgers. On a road trip returning home to AZ I was so excited to find a Tommy's on my way. I ordered 6 cheeseburgers to go and ate one at the restaurant parking lot. The lack of chili on the burgers is disappointing. The pics attached show the one from Barstow next to one from the original Beverly / Rampart location. A very noticable difference. I tried to contact them but could not find a main contact ... I was told previously that they do not franchise, but maybe that has changed. I do not recommend this location read more

I would have gave them five stars if it wasn't for that because when I walk in I see people staring at me with my .89¢ circle k like I'm some kind of cheap b@st@rd!
