Horrible condition that cost couple hundred dollars to fix for a "resort" campground!
    Julie S.

Have had membership for over 20 years and only ever came here, first they ripped us off by promising to lock in maintenance fee if "we bought that day" but it's gone up ever since and they do not keep it up! It's ridiculous they don't maintain better, the pool table actually has ripples and they don't clean off the mini golf, it's in terrible condition, shuffleboard courts not very good either! It's a shame! They also don't do the weekend meals like they used to. Also said when bought it's for our immediate family to use etc and now we're told they can't unless we're with or they'll charge them even to visit ? Seriously, but it's all we have close to us as Peace River is horrible, and hardly have any activities! A resort should have more activities planned, hope they fix these things and make it nice again not run down

Awesome place in a great location. Had lots of pull through sites choose from. Every staff member we came in contact with was genuinely welcoming and kind. Bathrooms near our site we very clean and had air conditioning. Excited to go back and spend more time here. Went out to the lake and saw an alligator and did some fishing. We will rent the boats next time and they're no charge according to a staff member at the clubhouse. They have paddle boats as well but need a 24 notice so they can grab them from the barn. All rentals do equine a $20 refundable deposit.

The park is clean and staff friendly. Lots of sites. Don't try to check in early as they won't let you in early.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

This is one of the most beautiful places in Florida! Highly recommend visiting at least once. Being…read morelocal, I've visited a number of times. A few things knock the stars down: - The amount of rules/ regulations is a downside. There are more than any other river we've visited in Florida. It's nerve wracking to make sure you're following every new rule. - Launching and landing at the dock is stressful. It feels rushed and disorganized. - The bathroom situation is DIRE. They have a few porta potties but they're pretty gross. - I've found some of the staff intimidating/ borderline rude. There are a lot of newbies to kayaking/ paddleboarding so patience is a virtue at busy times! It's a hard paddle up stream and coming back it can be easy to lose control around the corners. There are a few spots to be cautious of other paddlers. With that said, it's really stunning. They keep the area very clean and there are a lot of spots to pull off to the side to enjoy the view. I've never done a guided tour, but I've heard they're really well done!

Whether you're looking for a place for horse lessons for your child, for a place to get away…read moreyourself, or for a unique team building activity, Escape with Horses is the barn for you. Escape with Horses is a special place. The owner, Jessica, is warm and knowledgeable and eager to share her love of horses. She has tailored a wide variety of services - lessons (you can sign up for 30 or 60 minutes), yoga at the barn, team building activities, pony camp, painting with horses, and more, for children and adults alike. Everyone who works here is patient, kind, and fun. The horses themselves are a delight. They are Paso Fino horses, so they feature different gaits then "normal" horses, and that adds to the fun. The trainers assess your skill level and pair you with a horse that you will enjoy - whether it's your first time riding or a seasoned rider. I've taken lessons here since January, and they're my most treasured time of the week. I've also done yoga on Sundays, which is a treat in itself. Yoga is hosted among the magnolia trees next to the pasture and riding arena - being in this unique atmosphere takes my practice to the next level. To book a lesson, party, or team building activity you need to call Jessica directly - the phone number is on the website. To book yoga there is an event booking site, which can usually be found on Escape with Horse's Instagram page. Escape with Horses is one of the best kept secrets in the Orlando area! Jessica is extremely knowledgeable, and she demonstrates a skillful balance between setting expectations with a matter-of-fact firmness with compassion and patience.
