Half-sandwich (veggie) and pesto mac salad
    Katie B.

I love so many things about Pickled Porch. The service is easy: order at the counter, get your number, and they'll come find you when your food is ready. The staff is great about checking in as they're cleaning the tables nearby. Their Blue Cran Apple salad is the best around - loaded with sooo many toppings. I almost wish the portion stayed the same (huge) but in a bigger bowl so it's easier to toss. I may ask about that next time. Always get the side of bread, too! My mom got the veggie sandwich and pesto Mac as part of their $11 1/2 sandwich and a side deal. They have 5-6 different sides to choose from - fruit, Mac salad, salad salad, and more - and a wide range of tri tip, turkey, chicken, and veggie sandwiches plus other delicious cafe-fare. I've never had a bad choice here. After lunch, my mom insisted that we needed dessert. She had a hard time choosing just one, but went with the turtle cheesecake. If they had bread pudding this visit, that would have been my number one choice! Nothing compares to their bread pudding! But the turtle cheesecake was great, not overly sweet and the caramel was delicious. They also have a unique craft soda and drink selection. I'm a huge fan of craft root beer and love trying different ones! You really can't go wrong here. My only complaint is that while sitting on the porch is lovely, there usually seems to be bees buzzing around the side closest to the corner bar. I haven't sat on the other side of the porch, we usually just power through it, but have seen others move away from those tables as a result.

My FAVORITE place to eat in Angels Camp! Every time I take any of my friends or family members out here they LOVE it! I get the same grilled chicken sandwich everytime with their pesto pasta salad. It's so good hot fresh and delicious! They also have a gallery of sweet treats to try I noticed I would LOVE to try their cheesecake next time I come back! The service is always nice the girls here are so caring and always on top of everything it's really appreciated! Because it does get BUSY so for them to still be so nice and always get back around to you is excellent customer service!! They also have a bathroom around the side of the building and as it does have stairs, there is a ramp so A+ to them for making it ADA accessible! Love that As busy as this place gets the seating is a bit limited. Perhaps because the food is so good it draws in more customers there for less tables are taken. There isn't really seating that would would want to sit at inside because you're eating next to a line, and they do have a bit of a fly problem outside but nothing some fly tape somewhere couldn't fix! Then the patio would be perfect!!! Either way we will always come back!! Their sandwiches are BANGIN!!!

We stopped here for lunch today....along with the rest of the town. The wait wasn't bad. I ordered the Turkey sandwich it was good and fresh but a little bit dry. Needed more mayo. We would go there again.

Old Town Murphys is so cute! We stopped on our way to Arnold on a Wednesday and parking was plentiful. It was busy tho. The deli case was full of amazing desserts. I saw lemon bars...yum! The top row are the sides you can choose from. They all looked good or you can pick chips. We had the Wedge Salad with Avocado. I had to ask for a knife but it was delicious. I could only eat 1/2. My husband smokes his own tri-tip so is lnowledgzble in the process. He really enjoyed the Swagger Wy Sandwich. The food came in about 10 minutes. They have a water station out on the patio. We have dogs and they were fine to have them in the lower picnic tables. We would definitely come back!

Super delicious sandwiches! Fresh ingredients and generously layered veggies. It was out of the world! Really cute and cozy restaurant with comfortable outdoor seatings. Salad and side dishes are also tasty along with deliciously looking desserts. Really nice and friendly services, freshly made to order but we got our sandwiches really quick. I'd recommend stopping here for a delicious and relaxing lunch for sure!

Very consistent and very good sandwiches and salads. But try the bloody Mary's, they are a meal in themselves!

Ask the Community - Pickled Porch Cafe

Can you make a gluten free sandwich that can accommodate someone with a gluten allergy? (Gluten free bread and meat, Change gloves, separate prep area, uncontaminated condiments)?

I would not ask them to do any special requests, the owner does not accommodate any. All you have to do is ask for something to be omitted from a sandwich an it will prompt a hostile response.

They also make some of the best deli sandwiches around! We even spoke with one of the managers because we truly enjoy shopping here and hope to see one improvement in the deli department. The deli staff always acknowledge customers, which we appreciate, but the wait can be quite long because they continue finishing other tasks before helping the customer in line. We understand they have work to do, but it would be wonderful if serving waiting customers could be a higher priority. Since this is the only grocery store in the area, we hope the deli department can improve the wait times. We love this market and want to see it continue to thrive. With a little improvement in the deli service, it would be absolutely perfect. Thank you for listening to your customers!

I stop in here occasionally to pick up a sandwich and a few things before heading up into the mountains. The last couple of times I've been in, I've been waited on by the same employee. I treated her with nothing but kindness and respect, yet for some reason she treated me like I had personally done something to her. Her attitude was hostile, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. The first time it happened, I was honestly baffled. Even her coworkers appeared shocked by the way she was speaking to and treating me. I figured maybe she was having a bad morning and gave her the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, on my next visit, the exact same thing happened with the exact same employee. Once again, I was polite to her, and once again she acted like she had some kind of personal vendetta against me. Her coworkers again seemed visibly uncomfortable with her behavior. At this point, I'm done spending my money here. I have no idea what this employee's problem is, but customers should not be treated this way--especially customers who have done absolutely nothing except walk in, be polite, and spend money at your business. Apparently, they don't need the business--or at least not mine.

What's kinda crazy is that the pricing here feels on-par if not just as expensive as whole foods but since there aren't many options in the area for groceries, it does what it needs to do. Some of our must-haves whenever we shop here are the rock-it apples and their jalapeno cheddar bagels and jalapeno cheddar sandwich rolls. Their hot food is actually pretty solid. You can get a family fried chicken meal for $25 or if you are wing person like myself, the salt and vinegar wings are a solid snack to have at the house. The alcohol is a little bit on the expensive side, but at least the selection is pretty solid. We've come here a lot over the years and it's never super busy. Definitely need to be part of their rewards program because that's where the deals are. Plenty of parking as well, makes this a super convenient supermarket to shop at.

At 7:01, an announcement came on saying the store had been closed for one minute and to head to the register. Totally fair. I needed one more thing from produce so I hurried- another announcement at 7:02 said to "stop shopping- we are closed" I grabbed my last item and went up front. By 7:03, I was already being checked out. And yet the reaction from staff was... unbelievable. There were several employees standing at the front just staring at me--clearly irritated, like I'd personally ruined their evening. It was three minutes past closing. Not 30. Not 15. Three. Then it somehow got worse. They were out of bags (understandable), so I asked if I could use the hand basket to carry my items to my car, which was literally parked right in front of the doors to the store. I was told no, "these baskets cant leave the store"--and that I needed to go outside and get a cart instead. So I had to run out, grab a cart, and come back in... while the entire staff stood there watching me. There must have been 6 or 7 employees glaring at me with dirty looks like I had insulted them personally. The older checker was grumpy and rude, but honestly the whole team contributed to making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. I completely understand wanting to close on time. But if ringing someone up at 7:03 feels like a crisis to your staff, that's a management issue--not a customer problem. Also- why not sell reusable bags if you run out of bags so often? I would have bought one to make it faster for me to exit the store. Seems like a simple solution to avoid the extreme stress your staff is experiencing
