Overall, this place was good. Our server, Koren, was very attentive and kind, which definitely made the automatic 20% gratuity feel worthwhile. My mom ordered the fried green tomatoes. I had the catfish dinner with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The collard greens were a little chewy for my taste, and the macaroni and cheese came out extremely hot, so it needed to sit before digging in. My mom ordered the two piece Croaker dinner with collard greens. her sentiments were the same for the greens, but she loved the Croaker. We reserved a table or two for a party of 20. However, they had us scattered about in the center of the restaurant. We should've been up against a wall out the way. Then there were 3 waitresses... they were severely discombobulated with us and the other tables around us. We did not have one steady waitress for our party or table. All of our food came out at different t times. Our apps came out almost the same time as the main courses did. I also received my potatoes and Mac and cheese 15 mins after my stuffed chicken and only after my friend went and told someone. Nevertheless, someone needs to take control of the front of the house it will allow for a smoother run for everyone especially when u have large parties who communicate ahead of time. Found this place by chance. Located at the end of a large shopping strip mall. Nice interior- large inside- outdoor dining- huge bar area. Had a quick lunch that was very tasty. Out bartender/server was a pleasure to speak with and very accommodating to our dining time constraints. Visited about noon on a Saturday and the facility was empty aside from take away orders. I made a reservation the day before and when I arrived i was seated at a table near the door. The booths are quite limited and apparently go fast. There were two events going on that afternoon and had i known, I would not have worn my red dress bc the Deltas were there and people kept saying hi but I didn't know any of them ‍ The menu looked amazing! My server was very timid, I feel like it may have been her first week or two in the job. My friend who i was dining with, ordered the pork chop and peach cobbler French toast, I got the fried chicken and peach cobbler waffle. Friend said her pork chop was not seasoned and told me to try it. I thought it was delicious, but I dislike salt, greatly. The breading was fried to a perfect crisp but they were not full of flavor, surprisingly. I LOVED it. My fried chicken was also delicious AT FIRST, and also prepared with minimal salt. I was on maybe my third bite, had dunked it in the syrup and noticed my syrup didn't look right. There was hair in my syrup. Is that where it originated? I DON'T KNOW!! I wished i once that it was in the syrup only, but i did not know this. I alerted my server who calmly said I'll get you some more syrup. I didn't want to touch anything else bc I was so grossed out. I was a server for over ten years and I know, unless the items were on separate plates you replace the whole dish bc who knows, there could be more hair! Well that was a chance she was willing to take on me. She came back out with a ramekin of syrup and i stared at my plate. I tried to pull everything apart in search of more hair and didn't see any, but I couldn't do more than pick at the rest of my food bc once there's a hair in my food or whatever, I want no parts in it. Doesn't matter how good it tasted. Neither of us cared for the peach cobbler, I will say. Something was off, but I can't quite tell what. It was our first time tonight. Expecting a great meal. Sadly it was horrible. The hush puppies tasted like bad grease. There was no butter sauce served with them. My husband's creole dinner was full of badly seasoned rice, the shrimp and meat were cold and tasteless. The rice seasoning was like it had been left for a few days. Then, my raw oysters. I couldn't eat them. I tried twice. They were warm, not over ice. Tasted like if I ate them I might get sick. A $100 meal. Another $100 gone. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for a while. When we walked in the place was a bit empty but the decor exude a New Orleans flair. The service was very friendly and our waitresses were very knowledgeable. Our food choices were as an appetizer the crab dip and the southern egg rolls. It has been noted that the egg rolls were their most popular item and it was delicious the crab dip was good but didn't really hit the mark. For entrees I chose Red beans and rice, my sister chose the meat loaf and mac and cheese my mom had the cobbler but did not like it so much. We could not finish our meals because the egg rolls were so filling. The reheat was really good. We did have drinks although they were good they were followed by headaches. I was craving southern food and Orleans Bistro came up after a long day at Kings Dominion. It was pretty crowded so I knew the food would be good. I ordered the jambalaya and shrimp Alfredo. The jambalaya had great flavors with the shrimp and sausage meat but I didn't like seeing the pool of grease in my bowl. It wasn't very appetizing seeing all that and I didn't want to eat my rice with all that grease in it. The shrimp Alfredo was good and had nice chunks of shrimp. read more

The food was really good. However I am leaving this review because I'm a tad disappointed with the hidden fees. They add automatic 20% gratuity regardless of party size, typically I see places do with parties of 6 or more and it's 18%. They advertise this is tiny letter at the bottom of one of menus. Then last but not least is they charged a 3% credit card surcharge. I've NEVER seen a restaurant charge a surcharge for a credit card card. Again this was a surprise charge. It would be nice if there was more transparency. Other than that food was good and service was slow but still good. There is a lot of soul food classics like fried chicken wings and fried catfish macaroni and cheese & peach cobbler, but there's a section on the menu called Nawlins and I highly suggest you try something from this section. The catfish étouffée with crawfish over a bed of rice. Close your eyes and you would swear you were actually in Nawlins. I had a side order of collard greens but tasted as if it was also mixed with turnip greens FANTASTIC. The portions are Huge. Wifey had the fried catfish which were 2 pieces the size of a size10-11 shoe. Then we couldn't leave without trying the peach cobbler à la mode, another huge portion that wifey and I finished off together. I'm not much of a dessert guy but I must say I'm glad our server brought 2 spoons. Also appetizer was a soul egg roll filled with pulled chicken thighs, macaroni and cheese and collard greens very tasty and very filling. Very nice ambiance for a Wednesday evening. I stopped by Orleans Bar & Grill for a late lunch and it did not disappoint. The seafood gumbo I ordered was fresh, filling, and delicious. My brother and I were pretty hungry after church services. I had this place bookmarked after I'd seen an advertisement about Saturday Jazz Brunch. I was even more surprised when I discovered this place served Cajun food. The entertainer was still setting up when we arrived. After giving the menu a look, we started with an appetizer (dessert) plate of beignets! These came out hot and they were delicious. I couldn't stop eating them. For my entree I ordered a fried catfish plate that was smothered with a crawfish Etouffée on top and served on a bed of fluffy white rice. They weren't stingy with the crawfish either. This was a flavor bomb of a dish. The catfish was breaded and perfectly fried in a cornmeal dressing. The fish was moist and flavorful. The crawfish Etouffée was mouth-watering and addictive. It had so much flavor. My brother tried it and even he was very impressed. I would definitely order that again. My brother ordered chicken and red velvet waffles. The chicken was crispy, juicy, flavorful, and not greasy. The waffles were good, but nothing to brag about. Now my brother has a place he likes and can frequent after I return to Arizona. He and his wife do not go out much; so he appreciates when we discover a place where he can return to especially after my departure. Adults night out for dinner, and this is where we landed! We came on a weekend night when a band was coming in, so I believe the main dining area was transitioning over so we sat at the bar. So many food choices and it was tough not to try everything! The egg rolls though?? 10/10. Great mixture of great southern staples with a perfect crunch to hug it in. My catfish and grits were made just right and it did me wonders the next morning as well! 4 stars overall because the mac and cheese could've been better plus, there was a $25 cover charge for the live band that should've started around 7 or 8pm...but it took them an hour or so to set up so the cover charge wasn't worth since we were already a meal and two drinks in by then. So unfortunate because I love NOLA and wanted to have something near to get my fix. Oysters Rockefeller were over stuffed with what seemed to be spinach dip from a container and not sure if there were actually oysters in all of the 5 shells. And served with cocktail sauce? The fried oysters were over breaded and corn meal is the best way to bread oysters, which these were not. The cocktails sauce from the Rockefeller actually went better with the breading than to aioli that came with them. Planned to get the red beans and rice but after the disappointment of the two apps I tabbed out. The vibe was not great either but could see that music would add much. Then we were seated at a booth which is kinda hard to comfortably get to due to the tables being sooo close. Our table and seats were filthy. The lighting keep changing it was weird. I was very disappointed with my recent and first experience at Orleans Bistro and Grill. My first order of chicken wings was clearly recooked -- burnt, dry, and unappetizing. After addressing the issue, the bartender did remove the item of my bill. Around 15 minutes, another set of customers ordered the same menu item and their wings look completely different than the ones I ordered. This clearly illustrated quality assurance of food is not important. There should not be a drastic difference in food based on a time of ordering. The spinach and artichoke dip was the only highlight of the meal -- it was flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the service did not match. Manager Tif did not display good customer service or any willingness to make the situation right. This left a lasting negative impression, and I left feeling disappointed rather than valued as a customer especially for my first visit. read more
