This is a great place for a quick meal. Order at the counter and food comes very fast. Lots of space for groups. I ordered fried alligator and my date had the shrimp poor boy. The Cajuns I know enjoy the food so I know it's pretty legit. This is definitely a place I would recommend. read more

Not again. I ordered the Pecan Crusted Rainbow Trout thinking I couldn't go wrong. Wrong. The fish was so greasy and the nuts were slightly singed. I asked for lemon butter and was unpleasantly surprised when I received a small dish of plain tasteless melted butter. Not much else to be said about this one. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you all you folks who suggested Orleans. We've been without a kitchen for a year due to a renovation. Believe me, I've eaten everything 1,000 times everywhere. But on our way to pick up something in Katy, we had a huge craving for Cajun food. And we know our Cajun food! But now we are on a strict budget, so the usuals are out. So on the way to Katy, I did a search for "cheap Cajun food in Katy, TX." Up pops Orleans. I read the reviews, which were very positive. So, we tried it. OMG!!!! True, it's no Pappadeaux's, Babins, Boudreaux's ~ it's different & refreshing! First we had gumbo, and it was awesome and not skimpy on the shrimp or crawfish tails. For my main course, I had a Shrimp Tortilla Wrap ~ spinach tortilla dressed with remoulade & Cajun spiced shrimp, bacon, avocado, cheese, lettuce & pico de gallo served with dirty rice. This was the queen wraps of all wraps to keep this Cajun wanna be happy and satisfied! The dirty rice was perfectly seasoned and I ate every last bit of it. My boyfriend had the Seafood Platter ~ shrimp, stuffed shrimp, catfish & crawfish with skinny fries. I had many bites of his food and it was perfection on a plate. The stuffed shrimp was a bit on the spicy side, but that's Cajun for you!! As far as price, we paid $30 for everything. A far cry from the $50 we normally spend for about the same meal at other places. Though, you can't get a spinach tortilla wrap with remoulade shrimp anywhere else!! Plus, I found Orleans to be less loud than other places, and this a plus in my book! The music & atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. So thank you yelp folks for this awesome find. Brendon by far is a leader of customer service. I am a regular and a bit spoiled. I still have the original menu memorized due to the awesome food they serve. My secret is blackened. Blackened soft shell crab blackened gator. Blackened oyster blackened chicken. Onion rings are the best I've ever had and that has not changed. But brandon leads the way on service He was busy bar tending and my daughter who is 2 decided to dance. I know bad parenting but I promise i was watching. He gave her some attention which made my life happy he also made other customers clap to their own performance together Real stand up guy. Just ate here again. It's been a few years. They've always had great Cajun food. Came here tonight for the boiled crawfish. Awesome!! The potatoes and corn should not be a separate order. Being from Louisiana you always serve them together. But they were great. The onion rings are delicious, handmade fresh. Come early because the line to order and get a table starts at about 5:30pm. i eat here occasionally and find the food very good and authentic. The gumbos are probably my favorite and their po-boys are about the best I've had outside of New Orleans where I grew up in the 30's and 40's. I have had boiled crawfish find them authentic and good. I have lived in Katy for 22 years now and I am from Metairie, La, which is to New Orleans like Katy is to Houston. My wife and I found this resturant when it opened 5 years ago and it has continued to get better! The flavors here remind me so much of the flavors of New Orleans. We will usually split a seafood platter and have a few drinks. The boudin balls are to die for! The poboys are good, not as great as Short Stop PoBoys back home but a good runner up! The atmosphere is the best and everytime we go to eat at NSK, I feel like I was just transported 375 miles back to Metairie. It may be a little pricey but the food is excellent!!! read more

I had lunch here with my girlfriend on 12/11/16. This was my first time visiting and I came here hungry! I had noticed Yelp reviews. I must say I don't necessarily agree with them. This is not a 4 or 5 star restaurant. It's average .. 3 stars at most, and I'm thinking maybe 2 1/2 is about the best I can really rate it. This is more of a self serve restaurant. You will not be waited on. Go to the counter and chose from their extensive menu. We ordered the 1/2 dozen grilled oysters as an appetizer. They came hot and seemed fresh. I love oysters, especially big ones and most of them were. I rate this appetizer 3 stars. Next we ordered the Orleans Combination. Fried shrimp, crawfish etouffee, white rice. This came with french fries, which were the typical frozen kind. You would get better fries at McDonalds. Not particularly noteworthy. The fried shrimp were unremarkable and were definitely of the frozen kind, right from the grocer's shelf. The etouffee was unremarkable as well; no flavor and a bit bland for my taste. You did say this was Cajun?! We wanted to order the gumbo but chose not to do so because it is ALL made with filet ... fish scales! No thank you. This was according to the manager. The restaurant was crowded with groups and lots of screaming kids. It's a family atmosphere. I think you should try this restaurant and see for yourself. Maybe your experience would be better? It's good enough to come back, but I want to try a lot of other cajun restaurants in this town first. read more

This is a solid seafood Cajun option in the Katy area. I got the crawfish 2 ways - fried crawfish with crawfish etouffee. It's okay. Not the best but not the worst. What strikes me as odd is a Cajun place that doesn't make etouffee to good because etouffee is really easy to get right. But that's neither here nor there. It was okay and there are definitely other options on the menu that were delicious. My mom had the catfish, shrimp with dirty rice and it was super tasty. They also serve a delicious garlic bread with their meals. I had a a perfect hurricane and the place is very big and open and perfect for a large party. Also 2 big winner is the gumbo and the pecan pie. I will come back for both of those delicious items that are packed with flavor! read more

Today was our first & last visit. Maybe the food today was just a fluke, but I'm giving no more chances. I ordered two pounds of crawfish with sausage & corn. I should have followed my first mind and NOT get them because they only come in one flavor only which is "Cajun". There's no option to choice "Garlic, Mild, Spicey etc.. just Cajun. Ok fine, so I order... so moving along & long story short. The crawfish were tiny and SOUR. Not the entire player spur, just random ones. They also smelt sour. I didn't make a big fuss nor got angry. I simply informed the manager and was given no hard time nor doubt. Staff was actually nice and accommodating. I was asked if I'd like to order anything else or have my monies refunded. Of course I choose refund cause I was totally turned off. Needless to say, we are never going back. read more

My wife and I hit this place on a whim and boy o boy was it delightfull. We started with the fried pickels, my wife and I almost fought over the last ones. The Gumbo was good Etoufee was good, particularly doused in Tabasco The Po Boy was good enough that I kept cramming it down well after I was full. Bread Pudding was better than average bread pudding. Very very good gumbo. Good thick roux, good flavor and good amount of seafood. Oyster po boy was also good. Six nice size perfectly fried oysters on the half. They use a soft bun I prefer a crunchy one but it was fine. Boudain balls are a must, fried just lightly enough for outside crunch but soft inside, good flavor and good dipping sauce. I would have given this place 5 stars except that there is absolutely no service. The cashier wasn't even friendly. Ironically, they have a sign on their wall bragging about their service and hospitality. We ordered our food at the counter and then had to pick it up from the counter. Between napkin runs (the seafood boil is delicious but messy, as all good boils are) appetizer plates, refills, hand washing, and grabbing to-go containers, we were up and down during our entire visit. No employees walking thru the dining room to check on diners. I've had more service at Chik Fil A. The food was great so we will be back. The kids and I ordered the seafood boil. Lots of food for 3 people; probably would serve 4 or 5 adults easily. Crawfish was good and easy to peel. The shrimp were huge and also very good. Crab legs were fine. I really liked the sausage. Also had the boudin balls which were really good. We may come back just for those! The hubs had fried catfish, which he said was well cooked and meaty but he wished that there had been more (any) seasoning in the batter. Fun atmosphere and Cajun seafood is delicious. The shrimp brochette is much better and bigger than other restaurants serve. My daughter likes the fried shrimp even though it has a little kick to it. The kids meal cheeseburger was also a hit with the kids. Tonight I ordered the oyster sandwich which was spectacular.
