This is my first review, but I felt impelled to share a hidden jewel in Southern California. Let me describe you my experience. I spoke to Gregory, and further identified myself as a phone shopper. I originally called with the objective to obtain the best pricing; however, in return, I got the best customer service. Quite ironic, since I had no desire of receiving Ortho's customer service. I resorted to this approach only because, I received a sub-par customer service at the other Ortho stores. Trust me the other stores, come no where close to this store. Gregory was able to articulate the bed technicalities into laymen terms. When you visit other mattress stores, they tell you springs this and spring that and how one is relatively better.... If you're absolutely sick of hearing something you don't already understand, then this is the person to goto. Rather than telling me about the manufacturing specs, he slowly and professionally told me how it can mesh well with my body type and of course, my preference. Furthermore, his ability to listen is what makes him the ultimate customer representative. Again, I must emphasize, even informing I had no desire to purchase, Gregory helped me and as a result, enhanced my mattress shopping experience, and saved Ortho's reputation. Without him, I would have never even considered Ortho as an alternative. He did not push you around,nor attempted to close the sell like the other Ortho sales rep. (The other Ortho sales rep closed on me 50 times...) What makes him stand out is, he's there to help not to sell. But if you intend on buying, buy from him. Unfortunately they have a horrible return policy. We were not happy with our experience. Do yourself a big favor and go with costco. If you aren't happy you can return no questions asked for a full refund. I bought at ortho and found my matress was too firm for comfort and now i have to pay a 20% restocking fee which translates into $400 for me plus a delivery fee just to exchange my mattress. And that's it, you can't exchange after that, if you still aren't happy with your mattress. You have to exchange your mattress with one of equal or greater value. No returns on adjustable beds at all! I feel thoroughly ripped off. read more

My husband and I were out shopping for a mattress. We considered going to Living Spaces, but when I went on Yelp to get the address I noticed this store was in the way. We decided to take a look at what they had to offer. Ken greeted us as we walked through the door. We explained we were just out looking for a new mattress and what sort of aches and pains we were experiencing from our old mattress. Ken was very helpful and knowledgeable. He provided information on many types of mattresses and was very patient as we tried out different types. Ken never pressured us into anything. He was all about exceptional customer service. We ended up purchasing the perfect mattress. While doing the paperwork we had a wonderful conversation with Ken and his female coworker (I failed to get her name, but she too had excellent customer service). The two of them made my husband and I feel warm and welcomed. We had such a wonderful experience at this store. read more

Just bought a Penbridge bed from David at Othro mattress in Cerritos! Great customer service very helpful.

We were going from a queen to a regular king mattress and it took us forever to find one we both liked. After two weeks of research we did one day of shopping. We went to sleep number, sit n sleep and ended up at ortho. So glad we did! David helped us out tremendously. He showed us a clearance floor model that hadn't really been used. King size floor models are kind of rare. But we ended up buying that one. Upon further inspection he realized it was a cal king and he totally fixed the problem and got us the right size with no hassle whatsoever on our part. He really had some amazing customer service! BUY YOUR STUFF ELSEWHERE! straight scam when is coems to warranties. Horrible experience, i bought 2 mattresses and 2 "mattress protectors" the mattress protectors were suppose to protect my expensive mattresses from fluids, like urine. I expressed to the sales man i have 2 kids and they are not potty trained, he said dont worry, and if it does leak through, dont worry you will get a new mattress because of the warranty we provide, that how sure we are of our products" sure enough, after 3 days the matress protector failed and urine seeped through onto the mattress. I called to get the warranty, i had to get transferred to 50 different departments, to then leave a voicemail. Finally i get a call back 5 working days later, i explain what happened, and they said, well, we dont know if you qualify for the warranty, you will have to bring in the mattress YOURSELF.. then wait up-to 2 weeks for us to determine if qualifies. So i said, you expect me to rent a truck, bring the mattress, and have my kids sleep on the floor for 2 weeks until you can tell me that you product is faulty. Then if you do accept or dont accept i have to rent a truck again and pick up the matress's? read more

We were on our way to breakfast when we decided to stop by to check out a mattress since ours was 10 years old and lumpy. We were greeted by Josh who was so helpful, non pushy and so nice. He asked us what type of bed we currently had, what we were looking for and showed us several that he felt would be good for us. The first bed he showed us ended up being the one we decided on. We also decided to buy the same bed but without a pillow top attached for our spare bedroom. We've had the beds for almost two weeks and we are extremely happy with the one we are sleeping on! Delivery was quick, delivery guys on time and did all the removal and set up. Josh called us after the first week to see how we were liking our mattress which we felt was so nice. I was greeted by Diego and I told him about the other purchases and my troubled pressure point areas I end up waking in pain. I completely agree with the first reviewer. Gregory was AMAZING. The nicest man and best non-salesmany salesman I've ever encountered. We went in to look at beds, knowing next to nothing, and he practically gave us a college course on the science behind today's beds. He answered all our questions patiently and thoroughly, and he never ONCE tried to pressure us to buy. When we narrowed down which beds we were most interested in, he immediately did the calculations to tell us how low he could go - we didn't even have to ask. When we went to another Ortho store, the saleswoman SWORE to us that she could not discount any beds because they were required to be sold at a certain price point, blah blah blah. My husband and I walked in here on a whim. We should have come here first after searching Living Spaces and Sit n' Sleep and countless internet sites. Gregory is awesome. He is the nicest, non-salesman ever. Totally honest and gives you your space as you shop but always available to answer questions. Bought a bed from him on Friday evening, it was delivered Saturday morning. We also ended up buying an Ortho brand mattress, and not the one we thought we wanted. It is an awesome, comfortable bed, and what was most important to us is that it is made in the USA. This is an expensive bed too, and I can tell you I would not have given this man so much money if I wasn't 100% confident this was the best bed at the best price for us. We even received a hand-written thank you note from Gregory for buying from him. We will definitely be back and I hope those of you looking for a new mattress to go see him as well!! P.S. I was very disappointed by the customer representative Linda. She is unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. I always thought this company was reputable and stood by their product but not so. We paid $79.99 for a stain protector which we didnt know was an actual fitted covering until GBS- stain protector company told us that. We thought it was already attached or already sprayed on. That is when we realized Ortho mattress failed to deliver the protector and that's why the bed got stained by my mom. On the invoice, everything is check marked except the stain protector cover. We didnt know it was a separate cover. We called Linda and she said that's too bad. We have been getting a run around- paying $60 to get an inspector to come and then having to call GBS. Isn't Ortho Mattress the main store that sells mattresses? Why do customers have to run around trying to find the solution? What happened to customer service? My poor mom is having to sleep on a defective mattress that we paid over $12000 that sags on all the edges creating danger and causing safety issues. I will never buy from Ortho Mattress again. It would be so helpful if customer service reps were willing to work with the customer to solve the problem instead of shutting us down and shifting the blame to other companies. read more

Power was out at the time and wasn't sure if they were open last Thursday. It didn't matter because Chris and Rick took care of us. Chris showed and explained to us the different types of mattresses. Rick mean while helped in keeping our kids entertained. Both were very knowledgeable and provided the best customer service I have seen in quite some time. We would agree with a previous review that they are "Genuine" people. They were able to answer all our questions and gave us an offer we couldn't refuse. No pressure for the sale. Victor is the man! We went in on February 9 towards the end of the day, approximately 7 o'clock before they close at eight. There was two people in there already being helped by Victor, as soon as we walked in he greeted us and told us that he would be one moment as he helped them finished what they were doing. He told us we could walk around and check out the mattresses until he was able to help us. About 20 minutes later he came to us and said sorry that it took a little longer than he expected, but then he was totally ready to assist us in what we were looking for. I told him that my bed had finally gave out a few nights ago and that we were looking to find a new mattress. We had went to a couple other places but I wasn't satisfied with the prices. I told him that I was looking for a basic queen size mattress, and he showed me the ones that I was looking for. I liked the first one that he showed me and I asked him if that was something that they had in stock for me to take home tonight. He said he would check stock and he came back a few moments later saying that he was out of stock of that mattress, but he had the next upgrade available in stock right then and there. I told him it was a little bit out of my price range, but I ask Victor if he was able to apply the yelp discount to that mattress I would walk out of it with that that night. He asked his manager over the phone and seconds later said yes we can do that. Victor could have easily said no that it wasn't able to be done, because the mattress that I was purchasing wasn't within the range of the discount requirement for it to be applied. But Victor's customer service is what sold me the most on it, he knew that I needed a mattress and did what he was able to do for me to take it home that night. We ended up buying that mattress, which I enjoyed very much, and he brought it out to the back for us to load onto our car. He asked if I needed assistance loading the mattress onto the vehicle even though it was already past 8 o'clock and he needed to close at the store. I told him no, and that he had helped plenty enough already and for him to finish whatever he needed to do before closing the store. This type of customer service is what I strive to find in businesses. Victor is a great people's person and was extremely helpful the whole time. I would HIGHLY recommend Victor if you are looking for a new bed set or anything else within the store. read more
