I am a massage therapist. My husband is a manager at a restaurant. We both have customer service type of job. So when Payton gave us the best service I wanted to let everyone know.He was patient. He is knowledgeable and skillful when it came to the bed. I think I asked like 100 questions. He even let us compare prices with other place. They have financing so it easy to take the bed of your dream with out settling. We bought a hybrid bed it has individual coils with foam. The delivery of the bed was on time and they even place the mattress protector for us. I been sleeping in this bed for 3 day now and it the best sleep I have ever had. I love my new bed. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. First off, once we walked into the store, it took the manager at least 5 minutes to greet us - she must have been too busy with the ZERO amount of customers already in the store. We were in the market for a new mattress and wanted to learn more about the many different brands available. Our first experience was at Macy's where we received exceptional service - the complete opposite of what we received here. The manager (a woman who never introduced herself by name) was very rude and had a major attitude problem. While we were asking some questions, she would interrupt us and raise her finger and point it in our face - unacceptable. At one point, I took a picture of one of the information cards on the mattress and she says "Oh, I guess you don't need me anymore then since you're obviously not here to buy!" And then she begins to walk back to her desk! I was in shock. Since when was it wrong to shop around, learn more, and compare prices?? This was a HORRIBLE experience and I urge all future shoppers to stay away. Go to another store to find your mattress. STAY AWAY FROM HERE! read more

After years of air mattresses and futons, it was finally decided that it's time for an "actual" bed. I've never bought a bed or even visited a mattress store before and I don't know much about mattresses but I feel like now I do. The salesperson, Ray, helped me figure out what firmness I would need and answered my questions but what was most appreciated is that he volunteered a lot of information that I didn't even know I needed (especially about warranties, I hadn't even thought about warranties :o ). He could have easily tried to take advantage of my ignorance but he chose to enlighten me instead and that's amazing to me. It was great getting to try out the mattresses and figure out pricing and everything but the highlight of this visit was obviously the customer service. If you're looking for friendly service in a non-intimidating environment, go see Ray at Ortho Mattress (perhaps the other sales people are just as nice but Ray is the only one I met so I can't vouch for anyone else). read more

I hate buying a mattress. We have had a difficult time finding a mattress that works due to my husband's back problems. He found Patti at Ortho Mattress in Town Center and she was great. She listened to all his questions and concerns and found him a mattress that he feels is much better than what we had. I would give the salesman, Victor and store manager, Sharon, a 5 star rating. They were excellent and helpful. But their delivery team just about killed the sale to where I was so frustrated and ready to cancel. We purchased our mattresses during Memorial Day Weekend sale. We held off delivery until June 9. I was told delivery would be between 4pm-8pm with a one hour heads up call prior to delivery. Ok, so 7 pm comes along, no call. 7:30pm no call. I call the number which called me earlier in the day to verify delivery, no answer, Call delivery number, no answer. I call the store and talk to Victor, who tried to help and cover for bad delivery service. I told him my husband is 68 years old and we can't wait until after 8pm for delivery and set up. 8:05 pm I get a call from delivery person, they will be 30-40 minutes delayed. NO WAY!!! I ask for delivery the next day, which I was told would happen before 12pm. Next day, we play the same game. Delivery service calls to say delivery will be between 8am-12pm. Almost 11am rolls around and I'm getting nervous again with itchy fingers to cancel. 10 minutes later I get the call, delivery will be in 30 minutes. They show up take out the old, put in the new, and drive away within 20 minutes. If it was possible I'd give delivery a negative 3 star. No apologies, no compensation, NOTHING! read more

We arrived at the store near closing time around 8:30pm. Salesperson, Ray, was the only employee at the store (they closed at 9pm). RAY WAS MOST EXCELLENT! First, he was most personable & professional. He is the kind of salesperson one can appreciate; not pushy; very attentive to your needs; did not disparage competition; knowledgeable about product details & promotions. Second, he was very respectful; another couple walked-in and he excused himself to greet them. He was going back & forth between us and the other couple. We left the store, about 15 minutes after closing time (the other couple was still testing out the other mattresses). We, of course, were shopping at the other competitors, but because of Ray, we returned the next day just to let him know we have not yet made our final decision. Yes, we could have called him, but we appreciated him so much, we gave him the respect of going back to shake his hand and let him know we needed more time. It's been a couple of months since I went in to this store with my wife and we bought our new Temperpedic mattress. Sharon, the Manager I think, was very patient and helpful as we dithered between this and that firmness. Simply put, she made the sales experience comfortable and friendly. Given how much mattresses like this cost and the competition, I think the buying experience becomes an important differentiator. Purchased an Elgin II from this store 2 years ago. After 18 months my husband and I noticed we were sinking deeper and deeper into the mattress. It is like the entire spring coil system has broken down. Being tired of waking up with sore backs, we gave the store a call. WE were directed to the La Mirada customer service center. WE sent in $60 to have Ortho send out an "independent" inspector to see if we qualified for a replacement mattress. Of course we did not qualify! He didn't even take pictures of the sides of the bed showing the largest amount of sagging. The pillow top prevents the measurements from accurately showing the amount of sagging, yet this is the deciding factor used to show if the mattress would be eligible to be replaced. Now we are out $60 and the cost of this inferior mattress! Don't buy from Ortho!!!! read more

I read the other reviews about other Ortho Mattress stores but I wanted to at least go check it out for myself. I walked in with a pocket full of money ($3000). Not wanting to be hustled, I told the lady that worked there the same line I gave to every other mattress store I went to "I'm just pricing mattresses at the moment and just wanted to get a little education about them". Hearing that I guess she felt I was broke because only an act of god would have made her get up from her desk. After yelling questions to her from across the store about the various mattresses and getting answers that didn't really go in depth, I was finally curious as to what the prices that were displayed on the beds covered e.g. tax, box spring, delivery. She tells me, "Oh when you are ready to buy we will talk price". NO SALE!!!!!!!! I went to Macy's in the Lakewood Mall, talked to a Deshandra Bowie. I gave her my same line. She explained everything about the beds, what was covered in the prices, and had me lay on all of them twice or three times. I'm no snob or snotty guy by any means, but my first car cost me $600 so if I'm going to spend $3000 on a mattress I expect a certain level of professionalism. read more
