    Damage done to my car
    E S.

Fair WARNING to all! My first experience at this shop came when my transmission started to slip in my WRX, so the owner Waldo diagnosed it with a clogged valve body. He said all it needed was a cleaning and it'd be fine. 4 months later I'm back with the same problem only this time he said the transmission would need a rebuild. Fine. He tells me it'd be ready it 2 weeks max. Perfect I thought, bc I started school in a couple of weeks so I'd need my car back ASAP. Fast forward to 2 weeks later and my car is still sitting in the same spot he had moved it to on the street. I asked for an update and he said he hadn't started bc the battery was dead. Okay? I had a brand new battery back to him within the hour. Fast forward to a month later and again I'm asking for updates. He tells me he hasn't had time to work on it yet bc he's been trying to get cars out to make room for mine. Okay?... I'll cut him some slack. Another 2 weeks later and he's still giving me the run around as to when he'd get started on the car. Throughout this time, I've been driving by and popping in at the shop and seeing cars come in and out of his shop... but mine was still on the sidewalk covered in bird poop. 3 months later and I'm finally fed up with the excuses so I tell him that he would need to have my car ready by next week bc I have written proof of the due date and legal measures can be taken. Funny how I had my car back that following week. But wait, the bs wasn't over. After washing the car the following day I noticed that my hood was crushed and dented to the point where the paint cracked and fell off. On top of that, all the bird poop that was on it ate through the paint and etched the whole car, even after I had asked him to clean it off before that happened. I immediately called him and asked what was up with this and he tried to make an excuse as to how he doesn't know if that even happened at his shop. I reminded him that I had taken pictures of the car the day it was dropped off. He then admitted to trying to squeeze several cars into the shop & offered to go 50/50 with the cost to repair it. WHAT??!!! After all the bs he put me through, he still wanted to get away with this too?!.......Super long story short he ended up paying for the damage (as he should) and I ended up selling the car just as the transmission started to go out again... 8 months later

The shop. Try not to block his neighbors.

Every shop we contacted told us they couldn't fix it and that I'd need a whole new wheel hub assembly... except Clement at SGV Bimmer! Within FIVE minutes, he fixed what no other shop would even touch, topped off my fluids, and then told us, "No charge." We were honestly bewildered. It was our first time there! If that doesn't win our business, I don't know what would. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and they clearly know what they're doing. It's so refreshing to find a shop that's both knowledgeable and genuinely kind. We will absolutely be back for all of my Bimmy's future needs.

They charged me $500 for this work. Originally it was $400 but I asked for the front splitter installed and that was another $100. I just felt like I was taking advantage off. To top it off the mirror caps wasn't installed correctly and I had another mechanic fix it. Anyways I found another mechanic that has been working on my car and wife's car that I fully trust. Not a rip off like this place. I didn't want to write this review but it's been nagging the hell out of me for how much I was charged for. He also suggested I should change my oil filter housing at 48k miles with no signs of coolant/oil leakages. Yes these are known to fail but no issues yet and I'm at 60k miles now. He said $1600 for OFH. My current mechanic can do for $1100 OE parts. My current mechanics has 8 lifts and are always busy, so no not some run of the mill shop that is low quality. Hope this helps someone out there. Edit: The owner sent me a fake invoice saying the job was $200. It was not $200. I was charged $500. I paid cash. Very petty man, now I'm super glad I posted this review.

They told me I needed a full transmission replacement -- almost $9,000. I went to other shops, and the lowest quote I got was $3,800 to rebuild it, others between 6k and 6.5k, I honestly didn't know what to do. Then I found this transmission shop called Hi-Tech Transmission and decided to get one more opinion. Ever, the Technician; was very kind and took the time to explain things clearly. Instead of jumping straight into a major repair, he suggested that the issue might be caused by old, dirty transmission fluid, so We decided to try a fluid drain and replacement. After about 5 hours, he called me and said the issue was gone. I've been driving my car since then, and everything is working perfectly. No transmission problems at all. The total cost was only $400. What impressed me the most was his honesty. He could have easily charged me thousands like the others, but he didn't. That kind of integrity is rare. If you want someone who truly cares about helping you and not just making money, this is the place to go. Thank you so much Ever!! I will really appreciate your help.

I had a very disappointing experience at San Gabriel Automotive Repair Inc…read more About a month ago, I came here for an oil change. During that visit, they also repaired one of my tires without clearly asking me beforehand. About a month later, I started hearing a strange noise coming from my right rear tire. After checking it, we discovered that there was a metal object loose inside the tire. I brought the car back to this shop because they were the ones who had previously worked on that tire. What upset me the most was their response. Instead of seriously considering whether the object could have been left inside during the previous tire repair, they told us that we must have put the metal object inside the tire ourselves. Why would a customer intentionally put a metal object inside their own tire? They removed the object, but still charged us another $30. I have the receipt and photos of the metal object that was removed from the tire. I cannot personally prove exactly when or how the object ended up inside the tire, but I can say exactly what happened: this shop worked on that same tire about a month earlier, the tire later developed a noticeable noise, a metal object was found loose inside it, and when we returned, the shop denied responsibility and accused us of putting it there ourselves. I was extremely disappointed with both the way this situation was handled and the accusation toward us. Based on my experience, I would not return.
