    Houston Roll,
    Waverly H.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Osaka on a Saturday afternoon. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. We were sat immediately and attended to promptly. We ordered the Eel Roll, The Dragon Roll, Houston Roll and the spicy tuna roll. As we waited for our order imagine our surprise when we received a complimentary appetizer. It was jumbo shrimp on top of a crispy wonton. It was wonderful and very satisfying. When the rolls arrived they did not disappoint. they we bigger than your average rolls. I get why this place have there regular customers. But wait there was a complimentary dessert also (Green Tea Ice cream. I will definitely be back. Service was very attentive and friendly. The place was clean and they have me as one of their frequent patrons.

I went here for a lunch meeting yesterday, and we ordered a couple rolls and sashimi. Love how they give you complimentary shrimp tempura to start the meal, tasty! Our server was very attentive, and the food came out fast. I was shocked by how thick the cuts of sashimi were. I also liked the quality of fish as well. The rolls were all good. They also offer complimentary ice cream at the end of your meal :) If you're in midtown and craving sushi, this place got you with decent prices!

Free appetizer and ice cream... what more could a girl ask for? They also box your food for you. Very nice. Didn't have any sashimi or nigiri so I can't speak on that but the rolls and calamari were good.

My boyfriend and I love Osaka for a casual but reliable sushi spot. There is no need to dress up too much, but the sushi and food are great. The calamari is okay, but the sushi is always solid. Whenever we are there, we always seem to get some sort of creative and delicious mini app to start our meal as well! Recently, we got the ocean roll which was delicious, tempura shrimp (amazing), and spicy edamame which was very good as well. Service is always attentive. The drinks are fun as well and always have cute garnishes!

The appetizer up close. Everything is just delicious and artistically presented. The glaze was sweet with a bit of bite. It was perfect.

I have always loved this place. I've been coming for years, since about 2002. I always enjoyed the food here, service is prompt, courteous, and my orders are always correct. The folks are friendly and always greet you when you walk in. They always give you a small appetizer and at the end of the meal they bring you a small dessert. I would give this place a million stars if I could. I was surprised by how empty it is, but that just means the new location through off people so its like a secret. It's has a nice quiet, intimate feel to it. All for less than $40. Some of y'all are missing out.

    Har gow (shrimp dumpling)

Went here today to eat sushi, but when I saw they offered dim sum, everything changed. I had the fried shrimp dumplings, har gow, and long bao. All three were fresh, hot and tasted great. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely glad I gave it a try!

the ambiance is great. i sat inside but the outdoors decor really is a sight to see. the service was great, they even gave me dessert and an extra roll for free. the food was good. it tasted like average japanese food to me. this would be a nice place to check out if you are looking for something casual to go to.

Tried going to another restaurant nearby but they had an hour wait. Walked across the street and found this awesome place. We ended up with the most friendly, personable, and knowledgeable server Crystal. Food was awesome and fresh. Pricing was really great too. We got a complimentary appetizer which was a nice surprise. Lychee martini delicious! Vibe was laid back. And the food came out quickly. Can't wait to come back!!

    The H town roll

The sushi here is so good. Everything is fresh and everything is super clean. I came late after getting off of work at 8 o'clock and miss Shirley (please ask for her) was open and operating with a smile alongside with her partner it felt like being fed by someone's mother and the ingredients matched she was so sweet and gave me a complementary app and a complementary dessert Will be back!!!

All had really great flavors but my personal favorite was the tantan noodles which came with poached egg, sauce, and garnishes that you got to mix into the noodles. Super creamy and nutty! I really loved the vibe of the restaurant too, it's small but has a homey vibe that would be great for either a small group hangout or a date. There's a lot of bars to visit nearby too. Our server was also so sweet and brought us a baggie of Japanese candies & sweets after our dinner since it was Valentine's Day. Only complaint was parking. Very small lot and very packed! Parking was a little tricky, but street parking a few blocks away ended up being the best option. I came for happy hour (4-6pm) and sat at the bar. I was surprised you could make reservations for happy hour, but I was still able to walk in and find a seat at the bar without much issue. I ordered a mix of items from the happy hour menu and was impressed by the variety and how reasonable the prices were for the quality. Portions are on the smaller side, but that's expected for a higher-end sushi spot. I especially enjoyed the different sauces and soy variations that came with each dish--it really elevated everything. I tried the tuna, hamachi, fried tempura-style fish, handrolls, and nigiri. The hand rolls were the only miss for me; the filling-to-rice ratio felt a bit off and the seaweed was on the chewier side. To finish, I had the fried milk ice cream dessert (not part of happy hour), and it was honestly one of the best restaurant desserts I've had in a long time. Overall, happy hour is a great way to try a wide range of dishes--both hot and cold--and explore more than just raw fish. I don't drink, so I can't speak to the cocktails, but the drink menu looked solid and diverse.

Staff were super friendly and my partner and I had a fun time soaking up the environment and chatting with our server. Handroll wise my favorite of the set was the kani followed by the negitoro. I think overall, the handrolls were very well done with fresh fish/seafood. For crudo we got the scallop and the hamachi, I really enjoyed the scallop crudo but thought the hamachi was really overpowered by the sauce. We also ended up getting the hokkaido uni handroll. It wasn't my favorite but I think I just prefer my CA uni so it just didn't quite hit the mark for me. Overall, this was a really fun spot with good handrolls. We also had the chance to chat with the owner, which made the experience even more memorable. The food has always been outstanding. The hand roll sets are absolutely worth it, and my favorite dish is actually the crudo. Unfortunately, the service has declined with each visit. During our second visit, we assumed the lack of attention was because the restaurant was packed and likely understaffed. However, our third visit made it clear that wasn't the issue. Throughout the meal, we were consistently overlooked. We were never offered water refills, had to repeatedly flag down staff just to order, and even had to ask the chefs to get a server's attention. Meanwhile, the tables on either side of us were regularly checked on and served promptly. We watched guests who were seated both before and after us receive much more attentive service. Eventually, we left earlier than planned because we were tired of waiting just to order more food. It's disappointing because the food is genuinely excellent, but after multiple visits with declining service, it's hard to justify coming back.

The room is attractive and thoughtfully designed and there is an intentional sense of scarcity that makes the evening feel special from the start. For the price being charged I expected flavors or techniques that would separate it from other strong sushi options but that never quite happened. Everything was pleasant yet ultimately unremarkable. I get the sense that Neo receives rave reviews because people want it to feel special. The exclusivity the setting and the concept do a lot of the heavy lifting. I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop.
