Just a note they close at 2:30 and reopen again at five for dinner service...some of the brunch items like the crab samosas and the oxtail empanadas are on both menus (dinner and brunch) The crab samosas are amazing. I wish I had more even at this moment. Everyone is always so welcoming and helpful here....Everyone but the rude ass valet drivers outside. I mentioned to my dining mate who arrived before me how rude the guys were. He told me that he got into it with them also and another person almost got into a fight with them Having a nasty attitude and expecting a tip for a free service is crazy to me. The drink and food menu has a alot of selections. Started with the come and take it cocktail and espresso martini. The come and take it was nice cause it wasn't harsh but a little sweet. The espresso was a lighter version more of a flavored coffee than a strong coffee taste. We got the butter chicken, crab fried rice and the ribs. The butter chicken was bomb I heard and the ribs were flavorful and moist. The crab fried rice was a huge portion, soft shell crab was fried perfect and the egg topped was a nice touch. I love the whole thing of travelers's table. I've been there twice now and it never disappoints. It's a great spot for brunch. The party I was with was vegetarian, and we split the meals together. We ordered lamb shaksuka and substituted the lamb with tofu. It was super flavorful and served with bread. Inside the shaksuka, there was a boiled egg, crumbed cheese, and cherry tomatoes topped with parsley. For those of you who have never tried this, think of a flavorful tomato soup, that you split over bread. We had also ordered the Ube pancakes, and the Ube pancakes were really famous for this location. I feel like I see online all the time showcasing these pancakes. There was a citrus, whipped cream, with fruit, Boba pearls and a caramel sauce drizzle. My only complaint about the pancakes were that they were dry without the drizzle. I wish that there was more moisture inside, overall the flavors were really balanced. They offer many drinks - alcoholic, mocktails as well as lattes. There's a versatile drink menu. Service was fast, and our waitress consistently checked up on us. The interior of the restaurant was also very fun and modern with glass panels for natural lighting. I would recommend you make a reservation online on the weekend because it gets very packed. When you pull up on the street, the lot is very small. There is valet parking offered, but remember to carry some cash with you. The valet is very friendly, and they handle everything pretty fast in the parking lot. But, if you don't want to use valet, there are more locations for street parking in the Westheimer neighborhoods. We tried a little of everything starting with he crab samosas, and crispy pork belly. I will have to say the crab samosas were our least favorite despite it being their top seller. My husband and I came here for a much-needed date night. We've been to their sister restaurant a few times before and is our first time here at their upscale one. We had a wonderful waiter and gave us a lot of recommendation. But the treatment kind of fell off towards the end when he was held up by a huge party for a good while to the point where we changed our mind about desserts and after dinner drinks and had to go. The cocktail "come and take it" was balance and flavorful. The crab samosa is a hit. It is crammed with crab stuffing. It is amazing and you get two different kind of dipping sauce with it, Tartar and butter. This was the first that any restaurant has ever done for us, but they actually split our soup in half for us so what's pictured is the half the soup. The duck pad Thai was amazing!!! I wish I had that instead. I had the Caribbean braised oxtail. I wasn't a big fan. I felt like I was tasting more of the sauce and carbs. I asked for the mango and spices on the side. The mango was a nice plate cleanser in between bites. The ambience was really nice , definitely upscale compared to their Travis's Carr location and something that you should dress up for. I had an upcoming flight so I brought my luggage and they were able to hold on to it for me while I enjoyed my meal. Their menu has a good amount options to pick from. My friends and I ordered a few small plates, we had mochiko chicken, salmon tartare bites, Singaporean soft shell chilli crab, and crispy pork belly. I found the mochiko chicken to be too salty, the soft shell crab had no taste but the sauce itself dipped with some bread made it slightly worth, the crispy pork belly was forgettable, I actually don't remember being wowed by it, the best thing was probably the salmon tartare bites but I found them to be a bit too ginger forward. We then moved onto the desserts, we got the basque burnt cheesecake and passion fruit mango mousse (sorry forgot to snap a pic before my friend dug). First of all the basque cheesecake was not even burnt, I would call it more of a creme brûlée cheesecake, the top was slightly caramelized and topped with some kind of passion fruit or mango puree. The passion fruit mango mousse was on the lighter side, a bit too tart for me. While the food was subpar, the service was impeccable. Everyone was so attentive, and checked up on us every chance they got, we never had to flag down someone and our water was always filled, plus they were super friendly! Started with three apps. First was Hawaiian Mochiko Chicken which was fine, fried chicken, but the sauce was delish. Next, the Japanese Kaki Fried Oysters which were pretty tasty, not fishy at all! Third was the Salmon Tartare which was my favorite. So fresh and delicious, a fun small perfect bite. For the main I got Nigerian Suya Skewers which were fireeee. We had to wait a few minutes but not super long for a table. Austin was our server and he was amazing and super attentive. I wish there were more vegetarian entree options, because I wasn't a fan of the one option available. I enjoyed the fries with the sauce. The dumplings were just alright in my opinion. I went here tonight for the first time and can say both positive and negative experiences on it. I will say the positive first. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Meal and really enjoyed it. It was very delicious, juicy, tender to almost coming off the bone, seasoned real well with very good spices. Thankfully I did on my first ever time coming here. Soon as I arrive, the valet guy just looked at me weird and blank without saying anything to where I had to kind of show him where my keys were to break the awkwardness of that encounter. The other valet guy as I was leaving was not friendly at all either. Both acted like dicks and never once greeted or said goodbye, which came off as rude and unprofessional. They acted as if I owed them something both coming and leaving. The hostess acted kind of hesitant when I wanted a table for one. Personally imo, it can be seen offensive to offer someone a bar seat instead of a couple small available 2-seat tables when initially replying to the customer. That is unless there is a couple right in front of me, behind me or if the tables are reserved. She offered it after I pushed for it some. It's always possible I may have misread the intention, bc I'm not a mind-reader. Then again, I also work in a restaurant myself to have different assumptions many might not pay attention to. Just a note; offer the small table AND a bar seat if u can, but never just the bar seat at first bc that feels discriminatory like they don't want them with the main population. I don't personally apply this little rule to four or more 4 seat tables left though. I was excited to try this place on my recent trip to Houston. I attended for their weekend brunch. The overall experience was okay but I was not impressed with the food. I got the breakfast board which came with grits, eggs, bacon, a guava empanada, and fruit. Everything was pretty good but the plate was $25. I found it to be expensive for the amount of food. The side of fruit was not enough even for a child to feel full. My mom got crab samosas and the grits on the side. The crab samosas were not very good either. We both gave them a 5/10 respectively. The highlight of the meal were the grits and bacon. I wouldn't recommend this place. Also keep in mind they have valet parking on site, you cannot park your car on your own. We celebrated our birthdays with a Saturday night date at Traveler's Table and ended up sharing a bunch of small plates, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. The Salmon Tartare Bites were one of the highlights. The salmon was super fresh and the crispy rice cakes were a bit overcooked otherwise I would have gave a higher rating. The avocado and mango balanced everything out with a little sweetness, so every bite had great texture and flavor. The Singaporean Soft Shell Chili Crab was easily the most fun dish of the night. The crab was perfectly crispy and the sweet chili-tomato sauce had a great depth to it. Using the fried bao buns to soak up the sauce made it even better. The Miniature New England Lobster Rolls were simple but done really well. The lobster tasted fresh and buttery, and the brioche rolls were soft with just enough richness without overpowering the seafood. We also loved the Shiitake Edamame Dumplings. They were packed with flavor from the garlic, ginger, and chili crisp, and the mix of mushrooms and edamame made them feel hearty without being heavy. For drinks, the Traveler's Espresso Martini was smooth with a strong espresso kick and just enough sweetness to make it feel like a dessert cocktail. The Old Fashioned Experience was also great, especially if you like trying different spins on a classic. Each version had its own personality, but they were all well balanced and easy to sip. Restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. Location is *popping* and the people dining there are attractive. Very diverse crowd, young to old, the aesthetic is GIVING and it is definitely the place to be. The service is - chefs kiss. They are attentive, kind, and knowledgeable of the menu. Just makes for a great dining experience. This is why you leave your house to eat outside. Nice vibe, good people, mission accomplished. That's why they get 4 stars. The last star fell off with the food. The food was MID. And that really hurts me to say it because the restaurant is solid otherwise. Watching plates go back to the kitchen with food still on them made me confident in my assessment. Yes, it's a global dining experience but if you come with a global palate you might be let down. For those that have no familiarity with how certain menu items should taste and find flavors lacking, it may be a miss. That being said, I will probably make my way back here to try other meals. I haven't had everything, maybe I started with the wrong dish. I recommend this place for the ambiance. The food isn't its strong suit but it will do! read more

I've been meaning to come to this place for years and it did not disappoint. Everything from the curated, eclectic wall art, to the impeccable service (s/o to Alejandro who was super attentive, kind and just downright amazing) and delicious bites makes me want to come back again and again. I think Alejandro may actually have been the highlight of our brunch: he paid attention to our meals, to the point that I didn't even have to mention the incorrect coffee order brought to my table and had a freshly made latte brought within minutes of it hitting my table. (I'm complaining, though, the other one was delicious, too). For the food, the only "miss" for my husband was the crab samosas--but he's never been big on crab or sweeter dishes. Wow, loved this place! For 1, they offer complimentary valet! Idk how the parking would work otherwise. Staff very nice. Open kitchen concept, so you can see everything. Bathroom was to be desired. Small, two stalls, and one sink. Food was fantastic, everything was seasoned well, but mingled at the same time. Good portion size for the price point. I would recommend booking a reservation online, sophisticated process, and you get text reminders. read more

We were seated in the back booths for the first time and it was very cozy while we were the only ones there. We went to try some new food items that got added to the menu and they were very good. The oxtail empanadas are filled with meat and not too cheesy. The crab cake is full of lump meat and not a lot of filler. The sauce it comes with is creamy and delicious. The Thai crying tiger steak is also good. The crispy coconut rice is not too sweet and it pairs well with the egg and spicy sauce that they put on the side. The Komodo dragon drink is very tasty, it's a little sweet and not too boozy. Good for a brunch cocktail. As always the servers and manager were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. read more

Inattentive service overall - three empty water glasses at my table and nobody has come by. We ended up having to flag down a waiter each time. The Singaporean soft shell sweet chili crab and the porkbelly were absolutely delicious. Happy Wife, Happy Life and Shogun tasted great I enjoyed the oxtail while my partner had the short ribs.
