Not the best experience I've had. TBH, one of the worst. We waited an hour to be seated. The hostess forgot to turn our grill on so we had to wait 30 min for it to heat up. There was ABSOLUTELY no social distancing in place. Our chef used ENTIRELY too much Soy Sauce. The credit/debit card machine went out, so we had to scurry up cash. THEY OFFERED TO WRITE MY CARD NUMBER DOWN AND PROCESS IT LATER (I'm almost positive that can't be legal). And to top it off the manager didn't have the decency to come over to our table and give an acknowledgment of the service. Just a blatant disregard for customer service ALL AROUND. The short blonde server was not helpful. Asked for dinner plates because we are sharing a meal. She hesitated. We had to use the saucer. Its an awkward moment eating rice in it. We've been here 3x now, twice for birthdays for our teenager and each time has been fantastic. Service is great - the place is new and clean - and chef Ken is the best. Funny, entertaining (he cooked for Bill Gates and the Prime Minister of Japan) - and the food is excellent. A+. read more

I've been to almost every big Teppanyaki player in the area and this is by far the best. Pretty standard menu when it comes to these places, but this particular location is very impressive. Lots of tables, and each one has tons of comfortable seating. Very new looking, and very clean. The service was good, our cook was great and the ingredient quality was top-notch. I had the steak and shrimp combo with fried rice and it was just fantastic. Well worth the extra expense (these places tend to be a little on the pricey side) for the experience and great food. The next time I want Teppanyaki, I'll head back here, even though it means I'll pass two or three places that do the same thing. read more

My family loves hibachi dining - the food is good, the portions are always generous and it's a fun, social atmosphere. We had seen this place when it was being built and were excited for it to open. As you might expect based on the paragraph above, we are fans of Benihana, so that was our basis for comparison for much of our experience here. For the purpose of this review, I will refer to it as B. Our first impression was very positive. The restaurant was clean, modern and very open feeling (in a good way). It also seemed to feel less chaotic than B. Part of that seemed to have something to do with the absence of the large exhaust fans present over each table at B, which are so loud that it's hard to have a conversation. The hostesses were very nice and so was the waitstaff. The menu is pretty straightforward and similar to B. We were served very promptly and they kept the process moving - one of my issues with B is that it is always a 2 hour experience, at minimum. The chef is always part of the show at these places and ours did not disappoint. He was very funny and skilled at his craft. All of the usual hibachi gags were part of his show - the volcano, the train and the little dude who pees on the grill. Of course I can't forget about the food. It was all well prepared and delicious! We throughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back! read more

Best Japanese restaurant i have ever been. We usually go to the #1 location in Shelby township. Which is also great. But this time, we tried this place, because it was closer. We used to live in Michigan, and currently we live in dallas TX area.. and we have tried many many japanese restaurants.. This place is hands down the best japanese food ever. Sushi is very fresh.. taste great. The hibachi(sitdown grill) its the best i have tried. Lot of places we have tried are either too salty, greasy, too much butter, too much soy sauce.. it just doesn't taste right.. but here.. its perfect. The decor inside is so beautiful too. Here's my question, is this a steak house or a sushi spot? Because this place is NOT the place for sushi. Maybe the noodles & other menu items, but the sushi is just a joke. It has 0 flavor and you can tell there isnt an actual sushi chef in that kitchen, the rolls arent tight nor are they flavorful. The best thing on their menu is the carrot cake. If you want a drink or 2 and a desert come here, otherwise go to an actual restaurant if you want good food, you wont find it here read more

Had a very unfortunate situation at Osaka tonight. We were asked when we ordered if anyone had a seafood allergy I let the waitress know and My husband as well. The first mistake was I ordered double veggie and he did not give me double he actully gave me less then the others which was odd. I let it go though .Then my sons GF was burned with oil when he threw full eggs on the grill into a pile of hot greese. He saw that it got on her and did ask two times if she was okay. After dealing with a rough beginning I thought once everyone started eating it would get better. NOPE !!! The cook was cooking the chicken and steak when he tossed on sword fish next to the chicken Id be eating. He went to serve me the chicken after using the same utensils to flip the meat and add butter ect. I told him I have an seafood allergy and told the waitress. He says oh she didn't write it down. He asked me if after he was done if I wanted him to re clean the grill and cook my food . We sat down at 8:30pn it is 10:16pm. We were out with our kids and NO i don't want to wait to finish cooking everyone's food and then cook mine over . We would have been there another 45 min. I'm sorry but these things need to be taken much more serious . You can KILL someone. I asked the waitress when she came to see how dinner was if she wrote the allergy and altered the cook. She was upset and said yes i did . She brought the ticket to show me . So now I have a cook LIE to me and almost serve me somthing Cross contaminated. To make this night even worse . The waitress came back with the bill and says I'm sorry he lied I'm going to go yell at him . She says I let my manager know what happened . I look at my bill assuming I would not be charged for food and my dinner I couldn't eat due to poor service and the fact I'd be sick in the hospital . Nope charged FULL price. No manager to at least say sorry he will address the issue and to not take it off after i couldn't even eat the damn food . I'm furious that after a $315 dinner I have to go home and make somthing when I should be going home to bed. What should have been a nice night out ended up HORRIBLE !! If you have an allergy please stay away from here after seeing the carelessness that I did his evening and no acknowledgment of the mistake . Previous visits were very good. Unfortunately, our last visit on April 2, 2021 was extremely disappointing. Seated in the bar, our wait time for two standard hibachi entrees was 48 minutes. When the food was delivered, both of the entrees were cold. The rice was hard and the meat was dried out. We waited for nearly ten minutes for our server to come back, and when she did not, WE had to find someone in management to correct the issue. Their recommendation was to wait for the meals to be prepared again. At 8:45 pm, this was not an option. Neither meals were touched and "management" performed a small adjustment to the $90 bill. Avoid like the pandemic. They do not honor your reservation time. I was told by the hostess when we arrived on time for our reservation that we had to wait for walk-ins to be seated before us. Very unprofessional and a bad experience we didn't get seated until 1hour after my reservation time. Then we sat for another hour before the cook made it to our table come to find out that the hostess didn't turn on the hibachi grill when were seated had to wait another 30 minutes before eating. The final straw was at check out they advised us that their credit card machine wasn't working and cash only. If you didn't have cash they said they would write your card down which is illegal for privacy. I would stay away from this place as the manager didn't even come and apologize for the inconveniences. 5 Thumbs down one of the worse dining experiences ever. read more

Such a great experience! We came with a party of 8 including 3 kids, and our server and cook were both wonderful with our entire party. Our server graciously helped clean up after my 5 year old dumped his drink on the floor. He was embarrassed but she made him feel comfortable in no time. The cook was so friendly and entertaining, and great with the kids. My son said this was the best dinner he's ever had! You're definitely paying extra for the decor, as it's the nicest hibachi in the area, but the food is mediocre compared to Shogun or Kyoto. It is still definitely better than Benihana. Service is quick and efficient, would be worth it if prices were less. read more

This is the worst place I have ever been in my life. Not only did we have to wait at our table for an hour. The cook basically threw sauce over my entire family. The manager did not acknowledge the situation. He just asked if we were OK but he said we had to pay the entire bill even though they did not start cooking. Please look at the photos attached. My mother had to remove her shirt and had sauce in her hair and the manager did not even apologize. I love Osaka because there menus aren't dirty, the staff is nice, the establishment is clean. After the years I have grown tired of Benihana . But here it's golden. I feel like you get more of a selection here. I love the noodles and veggies here. The only thing that saddens me is that there is no chicken fried rice. But at this point you can make your own on your plate or the options are so numerous that you'll be fine in reality. The chefs are nice as well as the staff. This place is the bang for your buck for lunch! $12 bucks for my salmon! This is definitely a worthy stop if you want some Worthy picture taking grub! read more

Have been waiting to try this place but was, sadly, disappointed on New Year's Eve. The service was good but the rest was meh. Strike one for not having sea urchin. Strike two for not having salmon skin. Strike three for salmon roe that wasn't very fresh. Didn't think there was such a think as strike four but the soft shell crab tasted weird. I was here couple weeks ago to celebrate a birthday. The food was not bad but I thought it could have more flavor. I really liked the appetizers more than the entrees. We had the Crab Stick Tempura, Spicy Tuna Avocado Ball, and the Soft Shell Crab. All of those were really goooddd! For my main meal, I ordered the Royal Delight from the Hibachi combinations. It came with Chicken and Steak plus noodles. It was very feeling, I think the chicken and steak was cooked well no issues there. I just hoped it had more flavor to it. The staff were super friendly and our waitress gave us a great overview and recommended items of the menu.
