I've been coming here for lunch whenever I'm working in the area. The first time I tried it was actually thanks to some leftover rolls a coworker gave me--after one bite, I had to try it fresh. Since that first bite I've been back many times. I brought my wife here for our post-birth sushi date after hyping it up to her for months, and it did not disappoint. It's always great to be warmly greeted when you walk in and invited to grab a seat. Our server took our orders and gave us some excellent recommendations. My personal favorite is the Angry Dragon Roll, but we also had the Honey Roll, and the sleeper hit of the day: the Jersey Devil. That last one wasn't our first choice, but the server suggested it--and we're so glad we listened. We started with crispy noodles served with duck sauce and hot mustard while we waited. We also ordered two sodas to accompany the meal. When the sushi arrived, it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the first bite, the Angry Dragon was packed with flavor. The shrimp tempura and fresh mango combo is a win every time. The Honey Roll was just as fresh, with beautifully prepared shrimp. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was plated immaculately. But the real surprise was the Jersey Devil. It was deep-fried, still warm, but somehow not mushy at all. The inside stayed intact, giving each bite a perfect texture. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed and had no room left for dessert. I came here during the weekday for lunch. I chose the 3 roll maki lunch special ($14.99)l. They also have 2 roll for $11.99 the Lunch special's included miso soup and salad with that yummy dressing. All very good! There was a table with about 6 people seated just before me. I was afraid it would take to long to get my order but I got it a fairly quickly. I had enough time within the hour lunch break to casually eat my lunch and make it back to work. Service was quick and attentive. Lunch prices are fair and most importantly food was very good! This review is for the sushi only. Interior was a little dark at first,but nicely decorated, but it was a very hot day and the ac was blasting which was very welcomed. Had dinner, went there on Sunday night about 7:30 based on flyer at front door. The restaurant has about 10 tables. It's nice and clean and cozy. We were the only people seated and while we were there eating for about one hour there were about six or seven takeouts. The menu has a large variety. We found the portions generous, and the price very reasonable. Service was attentive and not annoying. I would've liked the chicken teriyaki to have been a little warmer, but it was very tasty. I ordered Osaka for sushi pickup this evening. I arrived at the designated time for pick up and ended up waiting for 40 minutes past when they said to pick up the food. While waiting, they continued to lie, saying '5 minutes' when I had another 18 to wait. No apologies or anything. Don't tip them until after you receive the food. No wonder they ask to be tipped online when you complete the order, which is galling when you think about it- don't tip and risk their crappy service, or tip and pray for the best like me?? Oh well, maybe the answer is not to order at all. Too bad because the sushi is reasonably good. Sometimes good places have bad nights. read more

The food was mediocre. I ordered chicken fried rice and it was chicken and rice and so many onions with soy sauce all over. There wasn't any flavor besides soy sauce. I couldn't even eat it. I ordered goyza udon soup and it was ok nothing to write home about. My husband got chicken lo mein, it was okay but nothing special. Nick here reporting for duty! We entered this quaint sushi joint prepared to take on an unpredictable taste test. To start we ordered some egg rolls. Piping hot, these are bigger than any egg roll you could fathom. What a value as its taste was delectable. It was a party in my mouth! Our party had three people, and my colleague Sarah and I had split a salmon boy and tuna boy. The salmon and tuna sushi were fat, phat, and flavorful (see pic). We savored every bite! Moreover, I ordered an Alaska roll. The roll had a perfectly balanced texture, through which the salmon and cucumber danced a harmonious waltz. Sarah ordered an additional spicy tuna roll, which packed a flavorful punch, yet left you wanting more. Ben is new to the sushi community and ordered a shrimp tempura roll. Very disappointed. I ordered takeout lunch via Yelp.com/Grubhub. I submitted an order for various pieces of a la carte sashimi and 1 handroll. The total came out to just over $30. Normally, when you order 1 "order" of sashimi it comes with at least 2-3 pieces of each fish, particularly when you are spending $3-4 per order. When I picked up my order, I received a $7 hand roll and exactly 1 piece of sashimi for each order I placed. To put that in perspective, I got a handroll, 1 piece of tuna, 1 piece of octopus, 1 piece of scallop, 2 pieces of striped bass and 1 piece of sweet shrimp.... 6 pieces of fish and a hand roll for $30!?!? That didn't begin to scratch the surface of my appetite and frankly I have had sushi dinners for 2 that were about the same per person and I left FULL. The other day I order from another local establishment and for $19.00 I received 2x more sashimi (sans hand roll). Although the fish was slightly above average in terms of quality, I was not so impressed that I would order here again given the limited quantity that I received for that price. Particularly when there is a quality-comparable place local whose portions are far superior. I can only imagine that this was a mistake born of my ordering online, but I am not so willing to test that hypothesis again. read more

I had the chef special of 8 pieces of sushi (two Tuna, two Salmon, two Yellowtail, and 2 White Tuna) plus a salmon/avocado roll for $23.00. The sushi was very fresh and the roll was excellent. Went there for the first time last night (and possibly the last) - I felt the person working the floor had as much interest in being there as the man on the moon... we did not have sushi/sashimi so can't speak to that. My dinner partner had Orange Chicken which came as large 4-5 inch chunks, however, the place settings consisted of a single fork.... had to ask for a knife and chopsticks, as did the only other table seated close by. I had Szechuan tofu which was poorly presented and lacked the flavor the Qin and Han dynasties intended. The Texture of the dish was overall unsatisfying. There is also a flat screen TV which I thought unnecessary considering there is no bar - ironically it was tuned to the Food Network's show Chopped - I'm told Osaka is the best in Orangeburg. I implore whomever owns Osaka to rethink what you are doing. The second a customer walks through your door defines the overall experience - this one was a disappointment from the very start - Maybe is was just a bad night and I may give it a second chance but I will most likely try the other two Japanese themed O'burg eateries first. read more

3 times I've got food from here. Today 9/12/19 I got pad thai chicken. The fried food, egg rolls and dumpling, were good, but the main dish again sucked. It had a FISHY flavor, couldn't taste the chicken or peanuts. I've now had 3 main Asian dishes (no sushi) and they all sucked. #done read more

Takeout during the Coronavirus era. I'd never ordered from here before but am trying to support restaurants during this crazy time. They took my order and I picked up. They asked that I call when I was outside and they rebuffed they last 4 digits of my number on the order. A man wearing a face mask and gloves came out to my car. I prepaid. The food was delicious. Much better quality than other sushi restaurants in the area. We'll definitely use them again. We placed an order to go. Over $50 worth, including 6 sushi rolls. They gave us 2 soy sauces for dipping. When I saw this when I got home I called and they said that's right. 36 pieces of sushi and 2 small containers of soy sauce. They said that was normal.
