Mango Roll

The bestest and freshest sushi and sashimi in Rockland. Service, food and ambiance are always on point and consistent. This place is amazing and our go to. They're open on Mondays!!!!!

What a nice treatz I gave myself today. A real Piermont gem unassuming but a welcome addition and option for outstanding sushi. Great food Wonderful service Veteran sushi master Don't miss it

Omkase Lobster, part 2 of 3 chef's choice of preparations.

This is the sushi I've been waiting for. Clean and creative. The atmosphere is welcoming, casually elegant, clean and best of all....the food is fresh and delicious. A veteran chef of his craft, has the old school refined talent of sushi making coupled with some modern additions. Recommendations to order, Cucumber Salad, Omkase Cold Water Lobster (made 3 ways chef's choice), Omkase Wagyu (made 3 ways chef's choice). Manhattan Salmon (this may be a special, but ask for it) This is a neighborhood spot, but is well worth the drive for a destination food adventure.

This is one of my favorite places in Piermont! Always fresh food and always innovative new dishes

Creamy but not overly sweet. Perfect. Service was also excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly and patient. They were also hustling the whole time we were there as they were busy but they kept coming by to refill our water and check in on us. It's a small space but they turnover pretty quickly, definitely family friendly and comfortable but it's still nice, clean and good for a nice, meal out.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, saw it was packed with guests dining in during lunch hour. The place is relatively small with sushi sanseis working in a corner station. A staff member handed me the order right away. Both the sushi rolls were packed in a small box, with some wasabi and ginger. It can with tiny bottle of soy sauce and a nice pair of chopsticks. The sushis tasted decent but were way too small is size and quantity. Each roll had 6 pieces only, not even 8 like most places do. I was still hungry after eating both rolls.

We found the quality to be good, especially for the value of the meal. Loved that it wasn't overloaded with rice, too. Surprised to find out that they've been around for some time yet we haven't tried it until now. Can't wait to make it our go-to AYCE spot!

I placed an online order at 6:22 PM and arrived at the restaurant around 6:40 PM. The restaurant…read morewas extremely busy, with a long line for dine-in customers. I asked if my takeout order was ready and was told it would be "a few more minutes." After waiting approximately 15 minutes, I checked again and was given the same response. During that time, numerous dine-in customers continued to be seated, and several other customers were also waiting for takeout orders. About 10 minutes later, I asked for another update. The employee attempted to explain the timing on my receipt, but I pointed out that the estimated pickup time had already passed and that I was simply looking for an accurate status update. She went to the kitchen to check and returned with the receipt again, at which point it became clear that my order had not even been started. After waiting nearly an hour from the time I placed my order, I asked for it to be canceled and left. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened when I've ordered takeout from this restaurant. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially during peak dinner hours, but if the kitchen cannot keep up with both dine-in and online orders, it would be much better to temporarily disable online ordering until the backlog is under control. Other nearby restaurants, such as Okinami, do exactly that to avoid long waits and frustrated customers. The food has always been decent, but it is simply not worth waiting almost an hour for a takeout order--especially when the order hadn't even been started and I was repeatedly told it would only be "a few more minutes." I would much rather be given an honest estimate upfront than continue waiting without any meaningful update. Better communication and better management of online orders would go a long way toward improving the customer experience.

That said, if you're craving raw fish it's convenient for a Piermont resident, affordable, easy to get a table, and takeout is always an option. A lot of the menu leans toward rolls drenched in heavy sauces which makes it hard to tell just how fresh the fish really is... or isn't. But if you order a sushi entrée, it does come with soup and salad. They also serve Nigori sake, not always a given at more middle-of-the-road sushi spots, so that's a definite plus if you like the milky stuff like I do. It's easy, it's quiet, and they'll occasionally throw in a few extra pieces, which is always appreciated. Being right off 9W makes parking simple, proving that in Piermont easy parking does still exist, even if it's not where you expect it.

FOOD (3/5) - Pork Katsu Cutlet Lunch Special (Main, $13.95, 3/5) - Could've been better. Pork was cooked carelessly - some way overcooked, crisped into oblivion such that the meat was turned dark brown and dry, while some were passable with breading falling off. Spring roll was mushy, and rice was put in a hurry. Side salad and california rolls were decent and miso soup was just there. They overall tasted alright and it is a good value esp. with soup & salad. I wished they would put 10% more and charge $16 instead because quantity left me wanting. - Hamachi and Salmon nigiris (Main, $2.50/pc, 4/5) - I had to try their sushi as it looked nice and fresh right in front of me. Both did not disappoint: fresh & silky fish with rice just right. They weren't out of the world though and slightly expensive for what they were. Overall I left satisfied, but I also spent close to $25 w/ tax just for myself because lunch special quantity was slightly lacking and I sub'd with expen$ive sushi. That said, I think Hikaru offers a pretty good quality and value for the locals - check them out next time you're in the area.

I brought my wife here for our post-birth sushi date after hyping it up to her for months, and it did not disappoint. It's always great to be warmly greeted when you walk in and invited to grab a seat. Our server took our orders and gave us some excellent recommendations. My personal favorite is the Angry Dragon Roll, but we also had the Honey Roll, and the sleeper hit of the day: the Jersey Devil. That last one wasn't our first choice, but the server suggested it--and we're so glad we listened. We started with crispy noodles served with duck sauce and hot mustard while we waited. We also ordered two sodas to accompany the meal. When the sushi arrived, it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the first bite, the Angry Dragon was packed with flavor. The shrimp tempura and fresh mango combo is a win every time. The Honey Roll was just as fresh, with beautifully prepared shrimp. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was plated immaculately. But the real surprise was the Jersey Devil. It was deep-fried, still warm, but somehow not mushy at all. The inside stayed intact, giving each bite a perfect texture. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed and had no room left for dessert. Bonus: Don't forget the daily buy 2, get 1 free deal on specialty rolls--makes for an affordable, high-quality date. 5/5 stars--definitely coming back for more.
