Surprising find! Was on the way to the airport and randomly found this gem! Good pub and grill vibe. has an impressive 40 beers on tap! I tried the beermosa from badger state brewing company and so good! my dad got a cheeseburger and homemade fries that he enjoyed. Both the food and service were excellent. We stumbled upon this place while passing through town. We were in search of a meal before we got on the road. This quaint little bar is so hidden that you'd miss it if you blinked. We were pleasantly greeted by our attentive bartender upon entering. This definitely is a local favorite as many of them chatted nearby and knew the staff by name. We ordered two burgers "the big gringo" and "the Big O." Both of these burgers were more mouthwatering than they sounded on the menu. They were cooked to perfection. The ooeey cheese melted off the buns and we savored each bite of this delicious piece of heaven. The sweet potato fries...delish!! As we ate, someone ordered us rounds of shots at the bar. Oscar's is a place I've been hearing about for a few years now but just have never made my way over. We were trying to decide where to get our Friday night take out from and got a recommendation from a friend to try this place. I am glad we took them up on their recommendation! I went to their website and was not able to actually access a menu. Fortunately though between their Facebook page, Yelp, and Grub Hub I was able to figure out what they had. Friday nights tend to be pretty busy, and with a reduced work force due to Covid I was able to get through to them on the phone after three calls. I almost gave up, but persistence was key. I saw another yelper mentioned that what was pictured on the menu wasn't actually what came on the burgers. For instance, if you want your burger to have onions, lettuce, and tomato you have to request those and they're extra. What they list on the menu as being on the burgers is exactly what you get. We ordered three burgers, The Big "O", The Gringo, & The Big Hongo. All of our burgers were amazing, so good in fact I forgot to take a picture to post with my review! The fries are also seasoned well and we felt that the price was worth the value of our food. It was so good! If you like mixes, then I pause to say that even the whiskey sour can be way too sickly sweet (why, Wisconsin...). This place is legit! We got the loaded nachos with pulled pork, and burgers. I built my own with white cheddar cheese, Gouda cheese, fried onions and fried mushrooms, bacon, avocado, and a fried egg. It was heavenly! We quit drinking years ago but they have Riverwest Stein NA which is one of my favs now, plus something like 40 beers on tap and 20 bottled beer options. I've tried The Big O - Angus burger with chipotle jack cheese, smoked Gouda, bacon, chorizo, fried onions, jalapeno with guacamole on the side. That burger is a behemoth and AIN'T MESSIN' AROUND. I definitely had to cut it in half and it was the typical "how-do-I-attack-this-thing-while-still-seemingly-remaining-ladylike." News flash - you can't. Just go for it. The Big Foot has a great cheese mixture - crumbled blue & boursin (which was different and interesting) and the Big Hongo is really good for anyone who likes a mushroom/Swiss-style burger. I've been hitting up this place after the Winter's Farmers Market at the Domes, since it's all of 5 mins away and usually opens at 11 which is when I'm leaving with all my Farmer's Market goodies anyways. Overall: Great prices and great beer list. I like my burger bun a little more toasted, but often I remove the top anyways because I don't want all the bread. Oscar's has the casual pub vibe on lock. They have 25 or so beers to choose from, with several local and regional options (shout out to New Holland's bourbon barrel aged stout, Dragon's Milk, which they've had on draft every time I've been in), a basic cocktail menu (including a pretty dang decent bloody mary), and a varied and impressive burger menu. Bonus? They're a solid option for a Friday night fish fry as well. Oscar's serves pub grub in its most unpretentious, delicious, and occasionally messy (maybe it's just me...but those burgers can get a bit messy...not complaining, though. They're amazing). My favorite burger is The Big Foot (black angus burger topped with crumbled bleu and boursin). It's big, juicy, and decadently delicious. My main dining companions favorite is The Big O burger (black angus burger, chipotle jack, smoked gouda, bacon, chorizo, fried onions, jalapeños, and guac). He's a man of few words, but he can seriously wax poetic about that burger. They can get a bit busy and they don't take reservations, so there can sometimes be a bit of a wait (worth it). The service is always kind and completely spot on. If I lived nearby, this would be my go-to for an after work beer. As it is, it's still a frequent stop. On nice afternoon/evenings, they have a wonderful patio space in back to enjoy. Oh! And, totally kid friendly. We frequently bring the kiddo and he seriously digs the eats as well. After reading all of the reviews, we decided we had to give Oscar's a try...Thank you Lord Jesus because it was so fantastic. We must have been living right because as we were walking in a table opened up and we snagged it and were greeted right away. Wait you mean I get to drink beer, watch football and eat burgers.....sign me up! I ordered a spotted cow and went to work on what burger I was going to devour. The teenager's eyes were glazing over at the burger options. Hubby and I ordered The Big Gringo and the boy ordered The Big Foot and Onion Rings. Where do I start on this burger? The Gringo has a Black Angus Burger, Wisconsin White Cheddar & American Cheese, and Thick Hickory Smoked Bacon....and it is HUMUNGOUS. While I had every intention of eating the whole thing, I made it through half....hey a gal's gotta try. This burger came out all hot, juicy and covered with cheese....I am literally reliving this as I type. In the south when you are stuffed you say you are as full as a tick...but seeing as though I am in the mid-west I will say it was Good Stuff (ya'll). The boy didn't stop to chew but he did put down his phone which means he really liked the food. When I asked him how he liked Oscar's he said, "It's good", which is more than I usually get in a day of conversations unless I text him, so i would say he loved it too! Topped with parmesan or a different seasoning...whatever it is...it's perfect! I've tried the Big Foot with 8 oz. Premium Black Angus Burger, Crumbled Blue & Boursin Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. I love this burger! It's juicy, cooked to perfection and has just the right amount of cheese. I've always tried the Big Hongo with 8 oz. Premium Black Angus Burger, Swiss Cheese, Sautéed Mushrooms. I usually add tomato and lettuce to this one since I like a bit of crunch. Both are equally delicious. There is a full bar with a huge draft beer listing. The drinks are priced just right as well. At times, the service may seem slow, but in my experience, it's only because it can get jam-packed. The servers have always done the best they can. Second time eating here in the last 5 years. I really liked it previously, but was left underwhelmed this last visit. The prices are great, for under $8, you get a special burger and fries. I like the fries. Decent quantity and a nice Parmesan glaze. Opted for the onion ring appetiser this time. Big huge beer battered rings. Not the best, but ok. I got the big gringo burger medium. 2 kinds of cheese and bacon. Only one strip of bacon and no sauces on the burger. No lettuce, onion, or tomato either. Looking back, I should have done a build my own with one kind of cheese, bacon, and standard burger veggies for about the same price. I was satisfied with the preparation of the burger. Just about perfect medium. Quite juicy too. It's the flavour though where the positives stopped for me. Just a bland beef, and very different from my last visit. Perhaps it's seasoned differently or they have different ground beef. It's definitely missing something. Restaurant has a great vibe and nice back patio. Packers game on all the TVs. The pinballl machine is a nice touch, though the ball got stuck a couple times. Note that there are probably credits already in there. I put in my $0.50 to play and realised there were 3 credits in there. I think people get their food mid game and walk away. Next person pays when there are already credits and it keeps building! One of the great cheap eats in Milwaukee and a top 3 burger spot in the city. Great prices on drinks (majority of beers and white claws at 4 dollars) and the server always made sure we had fresh drinks. We got the cheddar curds which I wouldn't recommend as an appetizer as they are more crunchy which isn't what most are looking for out of the curd (Onion rings or chicken quesadilla much more solid app options). I got the "Big O" which at 8.50 is the best deal in the city. The fried onions and chorizo are the star of the dish IMO. Everyone who has had it knows the bun is large and not incredible, but great sized flavorful patty and toppings on it make it a winner. Parmesan French fries are always on point. We were spending the afternoon in Milwaukee yesterday with no idea where to eat, but a burger seemed like it would hit the spot, so we made our way over to Oscar's. The parking lot was pretty full at 3:30, so that seemed like a good sign! We waited just a few minutes to be seated, it was hoppin'. First up, a Lakefront amber lager and some cheese nuggets, which were melty-hot and delicious. I believe I chose The Gringo burger, which had two cheese and bacon on it. It was a great burger! I was pleasantly surprised that the fries were sprinkled with a bit of Parmesan. You got a lot of food for a reasonable price! Three of us had burgers, beers and the appetizer for about $40 before tip. Now about half way through our meal the power went out! We were grateful we already had our food, but it it didn't seem to slow down the kitchen staff. The staff and patrons were taking it in stride and everyone was still having a good time! Luckily we had enough cash to take care of our bill; I think our sweet waitress was thankful, since they were waiting for the Square to arrive for credit card payments. We finally made it to Oscars and look forward to going back! I've heard so many good things about their burgers from friends. I tried the Aloha burger and it was really good - it was a burger with Havarti cheese, ham, grilled pineapple and avocado. It was unique and tasty. Oscars used to be our to go to place every Thursday for specials. The staff's and good them were amazing. Unfortunately the last 2 times my husband and I went there for lunch and dinner, we received the most terrible service. On a regular day, my husband and I were both off early from work and decided to go there for lunch. The crowd was decent but we never expect Oscars to be dead so it didn't bother us if they were busy. We sat down, got our drinks and so on. The food was ok that day. I always order wings with any burger. Well, even though it wasn't as busy as we expected, the server only came by twice and that was to take our orders and bring us our drinks. The food was over cooked which was surprising to us. Wings were dry and over cooked to the bone. I asked for medium rare burger just how i always order it and it was fully cooked. We decided that we wouldn't bother complaining since this has never happened before and everyone has a bad day right? Well, last night my husband and I went there for dinner after our show. It was roughly 9pm and there were a few tables (6-7) it was not busy at all. We sat in the patio since the first and second dining area was quite loud with a few drunk people. We didn't care if they were loud but wanted to just eat. Well as we sat for a good minute or two, one server came and asked us to move because the patio was apparently closed. So we are thinking ok that's fine. We moved. A different server took our orders and again, he brought us drinks and never saw him again (we actually did but he was in the patio room sitting at a table wrapping silverware or something and texting on his observing). Anyway, after we ordered our food, the first server placed a sign above the door "patio closed". Shortly after, at least 10 minutes later, he took it down and seated a family of 6. I did get a bit upset. If the lobby is closed and you had asked us to move, how professional is it that you just sat down a family at the exact table you had removed us from. So that kind of put us in a weird mood. We finally got our food and by this time, I'm excited because I was starving . Let's say, the chicken came out great just like it used to, the burger was over cooked, again i had asked for medium rare and it was fully cooked. Which i could care less at this point, as long as it's cooked. My husband had order a fish fry and OMG! 2/3 pieces of the fish stunk so badly. He had bit into one and quickly spit it out. It was extremely dry and from across the table, i could already smell the fish and asked him if it was bad fish? He said yes. So he ended up taking the breaking off the fishes and they were brown, hard texture and smelled like it had been sitting out for a day or two. At this point I'm livid. The server again, never came back to check up on us. So the first server who had kicked us out of the patio walks by and asked if everything was ok. "I told him the fish is bad, we didn't even care to eat it." His response; "I'm sorry let me see if i can remove that from your bill" my humble husband said forget it, but the fact that it's bad and he didn't even eat it except the one good piece, he could've gotten sick and we had terrible service, I didn't want to pay for it! The server never came back with the bill app my husband decided to just go to the bar and pay. Apparently with bad fish, we still paid $6 for it lol $4 can reimbursement us for possible food poisoning i guess.. overall, oscar's seems to be going down and is quite sad because we used to rave about this place. read more

Trekked out into snowmageddon because my belly was craving a nice juicy burger. Oscar's did not disappoint! The place was not too busy but the place was still rocking with tunes through the speakers, and regulars seated at the bar. We got situated at a table and looked through the menu. My eyes settled on The Big Gringo burger, while my girlfriend shied away from the beef and got the chicken sandwich. My burger was AMAZING! It was extremely juicy, perfect blend of cheese and bacon, and complemented with some really really good fries. My girlfriend had positive remarks about her sandwich as well. The staff was very friendly and came around several times to ask if we needed refills on our drinks which was much appreciated. As a side note, they must have about 20-30 beers on tap!
