When I would call up to check when they might be coming, she would just say she doesn't know and we'd have to wait. The door just needed to be repaired. They started work without an estimate, then sent me a bill for almost $5000. For the better part of the day that workers just sat in the truck watching YouTube videos Three days after the job was done the door completely collapsed and fell off the rollers almost killing one of our work I called to get some sort of explanation, but nobody ever responded. Oshiro RK is fantastic. One of two springs on my garage door split and the door would not open. A quick phone call at 5pm resulted in Wes coming the next morning at 9am. Professional from go. Wes quickly fixed the problem and was on his way.. If your door falls quickly it is probably the springs. Double wide garage doors are heavy so don't try to lift them on your own. I left a message requesting garage door repair. They told me the scheduler would call me, which Dean did the following day. He was able to fit me in that day, but unfortunately I couldn't meet until the next day. Dean called the next day with a time I couldn't make so we agreed to later that same day when the guy could meet me after his next job, time undetermined (for which he was apologetic). The two guys met me at the house within a reasonable amount of time (one guy was very knowledgeable and I think the other was an apprentice who followed directions very well). After doing a very thorough inspection (the door was installed in the early 1980s and the motor was 17 years old), I was given a very comprehensive explanation of the problem and two ways to solve it. Even though I was a little apprehensive, I chose the less expensive fix, which made a lot of sense based on the solution. Well, not only did they fix the door, they reinforced the panels. The door works, but the best part is, the door no longer makes the hideous noises it's made for years (think old, creaky bones) and closes without a sound (it used to slam shut). Our condo lanai door (old-style heavy glass) broke at the bottom pivot, slid out and was stuck open in a slanted position, away from the frame at the bottom but still attached at the top. Dean called me back within the day, and Wes and Kyle came the next day. It took several hours of highly skilled work to get the old door and frame working , but now it functions perfectly. They also added a closer at the top, which we didn't have. I was afraid the door couldn't be repaired--our condo building is 40 years old. I heard something that sounded like a ton of bricks falling. I just dismissed it as my neighbor who runs a construction business out of his house next door. When I tried to open my garage door when leaving, it sounded like a dying wind up toy like the kind they had before the internet. The garage door wouldn't budge. I called a few places listed on Yelp. The lady from the first place I called said she would transfer me to the lady who was filling in for the other lady who does garage doors who is out today. Riddle me that. The second place I tried just went to voicemail. I proudly told my wife I had two calls in to fix the garage door. She sternly looked at me and said "you didn't go very deep, did you?" And then gave me the number to this business. A friendly lady answered and transferred me to Dean, who other reviews apparently say is "the man." Dean sent me to my garage whilst on the phone and asked me a few questions to diagnose the problem. Turns out there a huge spring that snapped. He quoted me an instant estimate. And scheduled a worker to come out the next morning. Sure as taxes, the worker Kevin was here at the scheduled time. He was in and out and the door works like a charm. He even educated me about this type of door and said it typically busts after 10,000 opens. As our house is about 10 years old, I now realize I open that thing 1000 times per year. It took about a month to get an estimator out to our location. We have several metal doors that needed replacement and repair. I was told that the estimator will come by only when they are in the area. I had to keep calling back to pester someone for an estimate. At present, I have not heard back from the estimator at RK Oshiro and it has been three months. I placed a follow up call and kindly asked someone to follow up with my estimate. I've now waited another three business days and no follow up to my inquiry. The lack of response is unfortunate given other optimistic Yelp reviews~ Thus far I do not agree they deserve more than two stars. read more

I have worked in property management for 8 years. This company by far is the worst company I have ever tried working with. For a month and a half I have been calling requesting someone to come look at my door to give me an estimate. Keep in mind I need a commercial metal door for my property. They kept saying they were busy and they would contact me soon when they could send someone. After a month and a half they said they were only taking care of repair jobs and did not have time for estimates. I then requested information on ball park/general costs. I gave them dimensions and type of door I was looking for and they could not provide information to me. They are basically a "just hire us" type of company but do not provide any helpful information on cost. So if you get stuck with an outrageous priced bill that's all on you. Where's the aloha and sense of trying to help the people? What a shame. read more

I honestly forgot how we came across this company, I think my husband saw one of the technicians in a grocery store parking lot and talked to him about looking at the garage doors on our residential rental units. Since that day, we've been using them for the past 2 years. We were using Takase Doors for the 3 years prior, as they were the company who initially installed the garage doors. However, the quality of their work was diminishing and we just weren't happy with the service anymore (check their review for details.) So far, Oshiro doors has been great. They always come the next day after we call (sometimes day of depending on when we call and it they're in the area) and their work is quality. Prices are pretty affordable, but all services, regardless of who you use, charge the market rate, give or take $20-$30. And I would pay extra $30 if that meant a technician can repair a stuck garage door today versus in 2 days. I can't say why the previous Yelper could not get an appointment, maybe it was because my husband had a one on one repoir with the technician that services our area? Maybe it's because we established a relationship with him? I don't know, but I do know they are our go to garage door fixers. I just like the fact they come at our beckon call....literally. read more

I see that Yelp has not had a Oshiro Door Service in a long time. I can testify that the business is still here and the service provided to me was highly professional and satisfying. My sliding gate operator is really old at over 30 years old. It would not close. Roy of Oshiro Door Service came within 4 days after I called. He diagnosed the situation, corrected the problem, and even improved the operation of the motor and chain. We called Takase Doors to service our garage door following a third party inspection. The technician took a look a the door and said nothing was wrong and that everything was working properly. How he arrived at this conclusion, without even testing (opening/closing) the door, I don't know. We asked for a report to document his findings. He said that it was not a problem and that he'd have his boss get it out to us by early the following week. We never heard back from Takase, despite our many attempts to contact them. By the second week, we decided to contact Oshiro RK Door Service. Expecting a connection to the company's voice messaging system, I nearly fell off my seat when a very pleasant female picked up the phone and greeted me. Unfortunately, I cannot recall her name, but she was awesome. That same day, approximately 2 hours later, 2 technicians were dispatched to my home. They not only serviced my garage door, they fixed the problem detected by the third party inspector. All of this happened before noon, the morning of my call. Our garage door is now working properly. Am I happy? Heck no, I am ecstatic! Customer service is second to none, from the office staff to the technicians. Work is exceptional for the reasonable price charged. You get a sense the employees really care about their customers and take pride in their work product. Highly, recommend Oshiro RK Door Service. We will remain customers for life!!! Yesterday, my son told me that the hinge on my garage door was broken. I needed to have it repaired quickly before the rest of my hinges would also start breaking in the near future.
